South Korea entered an aged society phase in 2017 with the elderly accounting for 14% or higher of the entire population. It is expected to enter a super-aged society phase in 2026. The mobility handicapped, including the disabled and the elderly, are expected to grow continuously, and the demand for transport service for the mobility handicapped will definitely increase further. Thus, there is thus a need for various research to increase the utilization rate of low-floor buses among the mobility handicapped. This study analyzed the locations of getting on and off transportation means, time of departure and arrival, purpose of use, and frequency of use by the day among the mobility handicapped by making use of the information about their use of special transport service run by the mobility support center for the mobility handicapped. The study then proposed a method of selecting locations for low-floor bus stops to reflect the distribution and need of getting on and off transportation means among the mobility handicapped with such spatial analysis techniques as geocoding, overlapping analysis, buffer analysis, and generate tessellations. Finally, the study selected 228 locations for low-floor bus stops in Cheonan and reported a need to add 35 low-floor bus stops after eliminating the ones where the locations overlapped the old ones.
The necessity of clear understanding of water and energy cycles has been attracted recently due to the climate change. The micrometeorological flux tower networks play a role of cornerstone of the hydrological and ecological analyses. Although the eddy covariance techniques used for flux tower have been proven to be applicable for estimation of latent heat flux, the raw data are often underestimated and needs to be corrected. Among several methods, the Bowen ratio is recognized as the most useful method in which the net radiation and other flux data (Ground heat flux, Sensible heat flux) are used and needed to be validated. In this study, in order to validate the net radiation from flux tower in Seolmacheon and Cheongmicheon watersheds, we compare it with two version of calculated net radiation: (1) FAO 56 Daily net radiation proposed by Allen et al. (1998). (2) Instantaneous net radiation proposed by Bastiaanssen (1995). The results showed that the net radiation from the flux data had similar tendency with those calculated based on physical theory. In addition, after it was applied to Bowen ratio method, the corrected latent heat flux was considerably improved with making the energy balance much more closed.
Uncertainty is central to energy and climate policy. A growing number of literature show that almost all components of energy and climate models are, to some extent, uncertain and that the effect of uncertainty on the model outputs, in turn policy recommendations, is significantly large. Most existing energy and climate-economy models developed and used in Korea, however, do not take uncertainty into account explicitly. Rather, many models conduct a deterministic analysis or do a simple (limited) sensitivity analysis. In order to help social planners to make more robust decisions (across various plausible situations) on energy and climate change issues, an uncertainty analysis should be conducted. As a first step, this paper reviews the theory of decision making under uncertainty and the method for addressing uncertainty of existing probabilistic energy and climate-economy models. In addition, the paper proposes a strategy to apply an uncertainty analysis to energy and climate-economy models used in Korea. Applying the uncertainty analysis techniques, this paper revises the FUND model and investigates the impacts of climate change in Korea.
For the silver artifacts in the Koryo Dynasty excavated from Neungnae-ri Ganghwa island, the metallographic section analysis and hardness and chemical analysis were conducted. After making samples in the similar ratio of the composition concentration, the changes of the microstructure were checked according to the working method and temperature. The results show that those silver artifacts are Au-Cu alloys with 2 to 6 % of Cu. From the results it is judged that Cu was artificially alloyed with them to keep the proper hardness and identified that they were gilded by the amalgamation process seeing that mercury was included at the guilt layer. Also the porous texture on the surface of them could be formed at over $400^{\circ}C$, therefore, it is assumed the hot working or heat treatment at over $400^{\circ}C$ were performed. In silver artifacts made by the relief and repousse, they have the similar composition analysis to other 7 artifacts but the hardness is lower than pure silver. Consequently from differences in the hardness, it can be inferred that the low hardness of silver artifacts is concerned with manufacturing techniques.

The gold textile is Korean traditional weaving technique using the gold thread since 5th century. The making technique of gold thread was written in various references, but it is severed because the gold thread weaving equipment and sumptuous moods were forbidden in the early 18th century. There are some studies of traditional gold thread which are mainly about conservation treatment of cleaning and strength. To restore traditional gold thread, investigation of material and manufacturing technique is vitally required. The gold threads are composed of gold leaf, adhesive and base sheet. Gold leaf and base sheet are available for investigation because they are exposed to the surface, whereas adhesive is not easy to investigate because it is not exposed to the surface. In this study, samples are made of pure and impure gold, animal glue and lacquer, and various types of Hanji based on domestic and foreign references to compare materials for gold threads. As a result of morphological character and stability evaluation, the optimum materials for the restoration of gold threads are pure gold, animal glue and Dochimji(smoothing paper by beating). This study is expected to be basic data for manufacturing gold threads techniques and modernization of traditional gold threads hereafter research.
Time is an indispensable element in creating a story. This makes comics artists use various time techniques such as prolepsis, summary, ellipsis and flashback to increase immersion in story when they create comics. This is intended to make a study on retrospective structure among various temporal structures. Retrospective structure means progress in different time sequence, and increases immersion by making readers become strained or relaxed. Besides, retrospective structure plays a role of increasing or decreasing the pace of story. The person who systematically put the retrospective structure into shape is $G\acute{e}rard$ Genette. He in his book "Narrative Discourse" classified retrospective structure into three types. These are made up of structure of analepse externes, analepse internes and analepse mixted. This makes a study on retrospective structure in narrative comics based on $G\acute{e}rard$ Genette's retrospective structure. To this end, Kang Full's webtoon was analyzed. The reason to analyze Kang Full's is that this work has storyline where things happening in parental generation is interwined with things in offspring generation, accordingly this is work suitable for studying the retrospective structure. This study is intended to examine whether three retrospective structures suggested by $G\acute{e}rard$ Genette are actually used through an analysis of , and as a result, it is intended to prove the fact that retrospective structure has an effect on immersion in work.
By improving performance of mobile machine(3D engine, 3D accelerator chip set, etc) and developing wireless network technology, a demand for actual contents of users is being increased rapidly. But, there are some difficulties yet for the speedy development of actual contents because of the limitation of development resources that is dependent on each mobile device's different performance. In general, much of the animated character-creation work for mobile environment is still done manually by experienced animator with the method of key frame processing. However, it needs a lot of time and more costs for creating motion. Additionally, it is possible to cause a distortion of motion. In this paper, I solved the difficulties by using a optical motion capture system, it was able to acquire accurate motion data more easily and quickly, and then it was possible to make 3D dance contents efficiently. Also, I showed techniques of key reduction and controlling frame number for using huge amounts of motion capture data in mobile environment which requires less resources. In making 3D dance contents, using an optical motion capture system was verified that it was more efficient to make and use actual-reality contents by creating actual character motion and by decreasing processing time than existing method.
Present-day rules and regulations for the design and construction of ships are almost without exemption of a prescriptive and deterministic nature. Often it is argued that this situation is far from ideal; it does no right to the advances, which have been made during the past decades in engineering tools in marine technology, both in methodology and in computational power. Within IMO this has been realized for some time and has resulted in proposals to use Formal Safety Assessment(FSA) as a tool to improve and to modernize the rule making process. The present paper makes use of elements of the FSA methodology, but instead of working towards generic regulations or requirements, a Risk Assessment Approach, not unlike a 'safety case'; valid for a certain ship or type of ship is worked out. Delft University of Technology investigated the application of safely assessment procedures in ship design, in co-operation with Anthony Veder Shipowners and safety experts from Safely Service Center BV. The ship considered is a semi-pressurized-fully refrigerated LPG carrier. On the basis of the assumption that a major accident occurs, various accident, scenarios were considered and assessed, which would impair the safety of the carrier. In a so-called Risk Matrix, in which accident frequencies versus the consequence of the scenarios are depicted, the calculated risks all appeared lo be in the ALARP('as low as reasonable practicable') region. A number of design alternatives were compared, both on safety merits and cost-effectiveness. The experience gained with this scenario-based approach will be used to establish a set of general requirements for safety assessment techniques in ship design. In the view that assessment results will be most probably presented in a quasi-quantified manner, the requirements are concerned with uniformity of both the safety assessment. These requirements make it possible that valid comparison between various assessment studies can be made. Safety assessment, founded on these requirements, provides a validated and helpful source of data during the coming years, and provides naval architects and engineers with tools experience and data for safety assessment procedures in ship design. However a lot of effort has to be spent in order to make the methods applicable in day-to-day practice.

Recently, forest soil sediment disasters resulting from locally concentrated heavy rainfall have been occurring frequently in steep slope areas. The importance of landslide hazard map is emerging to analyze landslide vulnerable areas. This study was carried out to develop HyGIS-Landslide based on Hydro Geographic Information System in order to analyze forest soil sediment disaster in the mountainous river basin. HyGIS-Landslide is one of HyGIS components designed by considering the landslide hazard criteria of Korea Forest Service. It could show the distribution of landslide hazard areas after calculating the spatial data. In this system, the user could reset the weight of hazard criteria to reflect the regional characteristics of the landslide area. This component provided user interface that could make the latest spatial data available in the area of interest. HyGIS-Landslide could be applied to the surveyor's compensation score and it was possible to reflect the landslide risk exactly through it. Also, it could be used in topographic analysis techniques providing spatial analysis and making topographical parameters in HyGIS. Finally the accuracy could be acquired by calculating the landslide hazard grade map and landslide mapping data. This study applied HyGIS-Landslide at the Gangwon-do province sample site. As a result, HyGIS-Landslide could be applied to a decision support system searching for mountainous disaster risk region; it could be classified more effectively by re-weighting the landslide hazard criteria.
Background: Because of climate change, interest in the development of carbon pools has increased. In agricultural ecosystems, which can be more intensively managed than forests, measures to control carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) emission and absorption levels can be applied relatively easily. However, crop residues may be released into the atmosphere by decomposition or combustion. If we can develop scientific management techniques that enable these residues to be stocked on farmland, then it would be possible to convert farmlands from carbon emission sources to carbon pools. We analyzed and investigated soil respiration (Rs) rate characteristics according to input of carbonized residue of red peppers (Capsicum annuum L.), a widely grown crop in Korea, as a technique for increasing farmland carbon stock. Results: Rs rate in the carbonized biomass (CB) section was $226.7mg\;CO_2\;m^{-2}h^{-1}$, which was 18.1% lower than the $276.9mg\;CO_2\;m^{-2}h^{-1}$ from the red pepper residue biomass (RB) section. The Rs rate of the control was $184.1mg\;CO_2\;m^{-2}h^{-1}$. In the following year, Rs in the CB section was $204.0mg\;CO_2\;m{-2}h^{-1}$, which was 38.2% lower than the $330.1mg\;CO_2\;m^{-2}h^{-1}$ from the RB section; the control emitted $198.6mg\;CO_2\;m^{-2}h^{-1}$. Correlation between Rs and soil temperature ((Ts) at a depth of 5 cm) was $R^2=0.51$ in the RB section, which was higher than the other experimental sections. A comparison of annual decomposition rates between RB and CB showed a large difference, 41.4 and 9.7%, respectively. The results showed that carbonization of red pepper residues reduced the rates of decomposition and Rs. Conclusions: The present study confirmed that the Rs rate can be reduced by carbonization of residue biomass and putting it in the soil and that the Rs rate and Ts (5 cm) were positively correlated. Based on the results, it was determined that approximately $1.2t\;C\;ha^{-1}$ were sequestered in the soil in the first year and $3.0t\;C\;ha^{-1}$ were stored the following year. Therefore, approximately $1.5t\;C\;ha^{-1}year^{-1}$ are expected to be stocked in the soil, making it possible to develop farmlands into carbon pools.
