  • Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) models can be used for performance evaluation on governmental funding projects for IT small and medium-sized enterprises associated with multiple-outputs/multiple-inputs. In order to enhance the accuracy of DEA efficiency scores, DEA models with exogenously fixed variables are required where the corporate competency is taken into account. Additionally, it is necessary to use multiple DEA basic as well as extended models so as to relax the restriction on the performance evaluation to relying on a single DEA model. In this study; 1)a DEA data structure is designed including exogenously fixed variables representing corporate asset, revenue and the number of employees at the point in time that the governmental funding project concerned is initiated; 2)DEA basic as well as extended models are established according to the DEA data structure presented abovementioned; and 3)a case study is illustrated with an empirical testbed dataset. As for the DEA basic models, CCR, BCC, Super-efficiency model are adopted. The DEA extended models are developed based on the models associated with noncontrollable and nondiscretionary variables. In the case study, it is explained a comparison of DEA models and also major numerical outcomes such as efficiency scores, ranks derived from each DEA model are integrated using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) weights. Performance significance with DEA efficiency scores between technical categories are tested based not only on parametric but also nonparametric single-factor analysis of variance method.

  • This study investigated differences in learning styles and learning strategies according to learning factors: major fields, achievements, and grades and differences in learning strategies according to learning styles for college students. Unlike previous studies that analyzed differences focused on the dominant learning style, the learning style was subdivided into a balanced and dominant learning style. In the analysis of the 179 participants in M colleges, it was found that the difference between the learning style and the learning strategy according to the learning factors was not significant. But, there was a significant difference in the use of cognitive strategies according to the learning style in the dimension of information input, and in the use of all strategies according to the information processing style. It was analyzed that active learners had a high level of using cognitive strategies, visual learners had a high level of using external strategies, and balanced learners had a high level of using internal strategies. Based on the results, the training strategies to understand the learning style and to improve the level of use of the learning strategy in the learning competency improvement program was proposed.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of applying big data analysis to provide appropriate feedback to students using evaluation data in science education at a time when interest in educational data mining has recently increased in education. In this study, we use the evaluation data of 2,576 students who took 24 questions of the national assessment of educational achievement. And we use K-means cluster analysis as a method of unsupervised machine learning for clustering. As a result of clustering, students were divided into six clusters. The middle-ranking students are divided into various clusters when compared to upper or lower ranks. According to the results of the cluster analysis, the most important factor influencing clusterization is academic achievement, and each cluster shows different characteristics in terms of content domains, subject competencies, and affective characteristics. Learning motivation is important among the affective domains in the lower-ranking achievement cluster, and scientific inquiry and problem-solving competency, as well as scientific communication competency have a major influence in terms of subject competencies. In the content domain, achievement of motion and energy and matter are important factors to distinguish the characteristics of the cluster. As a result, we can provide students with customized feedback for learning based on the characteristics of each cluster. We discuss implications of these results for science education, such as the possibility of using this study results, balanced learning by content domains, enhancement of subject competency, and improvement of scientific attitude.

  • The present research is aimed at to examine the relationships between wisdom and age, also between wisdom and its psychological adaptation among middle and elder adults in Korea. Moreover, using data on 240 middle-aged and elder adults, the relationship between different aspects of wisdom and aging well were not only examined, but also explored age differences of wisdom through adulthood. The major findings from the study are summarized as follows. first, the wisdom scores of middle-aged and elder adults were significantly higher than those of young adults. While 'cognitive competency' and 'positive life attitude' factors had no significant differences. It means that 'cognitive competency' and 'positive life attitude' wisdom could be stable across adulthood. However, 'moderation and balance' and 'sympathetic interpersonal relationship' wisdom of elders were significantly higher than those of young adults. second, in middle and elder adults, Wisdom was found to be positively related with life satisfaction, well-being, death acceptance, experiences of positive emotion, generativity, ego integration, and positive life review. while on the other hand, contrast wisdom to be negatively related with depression, fear of death, perceived stress and experiences of negative emotion. The results from the study were examined by ecological validity of wisdom. Accordingly, a number of limitations and implications of the research were acknowledged.
