Recently, multiferroic materials gain much attention due to their fascinating fundamental physical properties. These materials offer wide range of potential applications such as data storage, spintronic devices and sensors, where both electronic and magnetic polarizations can be coupled. Among single-phase multiferroic materials, $BiFeO_3$ is typical because of the room-temperature magnetoelectric coupling in view of long-range magnetic- and ferroelectric-ordering temperatures. However, $BiFeO_3$ is well known to have large leakage current and small spontaneous polarization due to the existence of oxygen vacancies and other defects. Furthermore the magnetic moment of pure $BiFeO_3$ is very weak owing to its antiferromagnetic nature. Recently, various attempts have been performed to improve the multiferroic properties of $BiFeO_3$ through the co-doping at the A and the B sites, by making use of the fact that the intrinsic polarization and magnetization are associated with the lone pair of $Bi^{3+}$ ions at the A sites and the partially-filled 3d orbitals of $Fe^{3+}$ ions at the B sites, respectively. In this study, $BiFeO_3$, $Bi_{0.9}Ho_{0.1}FeO_3$, $BiFe_{0.97}Ni_{0.03}O_3$ and $Bi_{0.9}Ho_{0.1}Fe_{0.97}Ni_{0.03}O_3$ bulk compounds were prepared by solid-state reaction and rapid sintering. High-purity $Bi_2O_3$, $Ho_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$ and $NiO_2$ powders with the stoichiometric proportions were mixed, and calcined at $500^{\circ}C$ for 24 h to produce the samples. The samples were immediately put into an oven, which was heated up to $800^{\circ}C$ and sintered in air for 1 h. The crystalline structure of samples was investigated at room temperature by using a Rigaku Miniflex powder diffractometer. The field-dependent and temperature-dependent magnetization measurements were performed with a vibrating-sample magnetometer and superconducting quantum-interference device.
The crystallographic, electrical and magnetic behaviors of magnetite powder in the vicinity of its Verwey transition were investigated in this study. Magnetite was prepared by synthesizing a nanoparticle precursor and then annealing it at $800^{\circ}C$ for 1 h under a dynamic vacuum. Crystallographic and morphology analyses were done by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The electrical and the magnetic properties were examined by using $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectroscopy, vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and resistivity measurement. Both the magnetic moment and the resistivity showed discontinuous changes at the Verwey transition temperature ($T_V$). The temperature dependence of magnetic anisotropy constant showed a monotonic decrease with increasing temperature, with slight dip near $T_V$. $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectra showed the superposition of two sextets, one from the tetrahedral (A) and the other from the octahedral (B) sites. The results revealed that identical charge states existed in the B site at temperatures both above and below $T_V$. A coordination crossover resulted in a transition from an inverse to a normal spinel at or close to $T_V$.
The samples were synthesized by using a solid state reaction. The X-ray diffraction pattern for $Ti_{0.96}Co_{0.02}Fe_{0.02}O_2$ showed a pure rutile phase with tetragonal structure, Mixtures of the proper proportions of the elements sealed in evacuated quartz ampoule were heated at $870{\sim}930^{\circ}C$ for one day and then slowly cooled down to room temperature at a rate of $10^{\circ}C$/h. In order to obtain single phase material, it was necessary to grind the sample after the first firing and to press the powders into pellets before annealing them for a second time in evacuated and sealed quartz ampoule. Magnetic properties have been investigated using the vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Room temperature magnetic hysteresis (M-H) curve showed an obvious ferromagnetic behavior and the magnetic moment per Fe atom under the applied of 0.8 T was estimated to be about $1.5\;{\mu}_B$/CoFe. But the magnetic moment per Fe atom under the applied of 0.8 T was estimated to be about $0.02\;{\mu}_B$/CoFe without Ti-getter. Size of particles is about $1\;{\mu}m$ using the transmission electron microscope (TEM). The ingredients of sample are distributed irregular in particles. Only Fe get shown on the surface of particles.
Magnetocardiography (MCG) is a device to measure the magnetic field from the heart. It is a noninvasive device and takes only few minutes to record magnetocardiogram from a subject. In this study, we compared the difference of MCG data recorded from 56 normal subjects in early twenties (28 males and 28 females, mean $age=21.0{\pm}1.6$ years) and 36 elderly subjects (20 males and 16 females, mean $age=61.9{\pm}6.9$ years) for the analysis of the age and gender difference. A total of 24 parameters used in the analysis were derived from QRS complex, R-wave, T-wave, and ST-T period. As a result, seven parameters including maximum current angle and map angle showed the significant difference (p<0.01 and p<0.05, respectively) between young males and young females. Significant difference (p<0.05) between elderly males and elderly females was found from a parameter, pole distance at T-wave peak. In the comparison of age difference, seven parameters regarding current moment, pole distance, and dynamics showed the significant difference between young and elderly males. Eight parameters also showed significant difference (p<0.05) between two younger and elderly female groups. Results showed that parameters regarding current moment, pole distance, and dynamics might be changed when people get older. In conclusion, gender and age difference should be considered when MCG data are analyzed for certain parameters.

In general, the ocean wave vibration power generator consists of buoy, vibration system and linear generation system. It maximized energy efficiency by using resonance phenomenon that turned to the natural frequency of vibration system and frequency of ocean wave energy. But it is difficult to obtain efficiently energy from ocean wave because the frequency of ocean wave changes from moment to moment. In this paper, we study the buoy and vibration system of ocean wave power generator to solve these problem. Firstly, we designed the buoy that gives rise to resonance between ocean wave and buoy. Secondly, we designed vibration system that is occurred to resonance between buoy and vibration system. And then the relative velocity between the buoy and magnetic of ocean wave vibration generator increases and the relative displacement between buoy and ocean wave decreases at the same time. As a result, the method which is proposed in this paper has merits not only securing its stability from harsh ocean wave environment but also obtaining more kinetic energy from ever-changing ocean wave.

The crystallographic properties and cation distribution of oxyspinels ferrite $Co_xFe_{1-x}O_4$ thin films have been explored by X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and conversion electron $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy (CEMS). Thin films are prepared by sol-gel method. Normal spinel structure is transformed to inverse spinel structure with increasing Co concentration CEMS results indicate that most of $Fe^{3+}$ ions are substituted to $Co^{3+}$ions. Accordingly $Co^{2+}$ ions on octahedral site migrate to tetrahedral site. Magnetic moment is decreased with increasing Co concentration, which means high spin $Fe^{3+}$ ions are replaced by low spin $Co^{3+}$.

An numerical technique of impedance boundary condition to improve an efficiency in the process of moment method with CFIE(Combined Field Integral Equation), which is widely used to analyze the scattering property of dielectric scatterers, and results of its cross-validations are presented in this study. Application of the impedance boundary allows to represent the equivalent surface currents of dielectric scatterer depicted by both kinds of electric/magnetic surface currents(Js, Ms) to the single surface current by Js or Ms only. Accuracy of this technique is validated by the existing CFIE and theoretical values such as Mie-series solution and small perturbation scattering model. The computational difference of less than 1 dB was verified within an imaginary part of dielectric constant more than 12, as well.
$^13CO$ chemisorbed on platinum particles in L-zeolite has been investigated by static and magic angle spinning NMR spectroscopy. The representative spectra are composed of a broad asymmetric peak with a center of gravity at 230±30 ppm and a sharp symmetric peak at 124±2 ppm which is tentatively assigned to physisorbed $CO_2$, on inner walls of L-zeolite. Overall, the broad resonance component is similar to our previous results of highly dispersed (80-96%) CO/Pt/silica or CO/Pt/alumina samples, still showing metallic characters. The principal difference is in the first moment value. The broad peak in the spectra is assigned to CO linearly bound to Pt particles in the L-zeolites, and indicates a distribution of isotropic shifts from bonding site to bonding site. The NMR results reported here manifest that the Pt particles inside of the L-zeolites channels are not collectively the same with the ones supported on silica or alumina with similar dispersion in terms of Pt particle shape and/or ordering of Pt atoms in a particle. As a result, Pt particles of CO/Pt/L-zeolite were agglomerated accompanying CO desorption upon annealing. There were no definite changes in the NMR spectra due to differences of exchanged cations. Comparison of our observation on CO/Pt/L-zeolite with Sharma et al.'s reveals that even when the first moment, the linewidtb, and the relaxation times of the static spectra and the dispersion measured by chemisorption are similar, the properties of Pt particles can be dramatically different. Therefore, it is essential to take advantage of the strengths of several techniques together in order to interpret data reliably, especially for the highly dispersed samples.
This study characterizes the coastdown performances of two small electric motors supported on high-speed ball bearings (BBs) and gas foil bearings (GFBs), and it predicts their acceleration performances. The two motors have identical permanent magnetic rotors and mating stators. However, the shaft of the GFBs has a larger mass and polar/transverse moments of inertia than that of the BBs. Motor coastdown tests demonstrate that the rotor speed decreases linearly with the BBs and nonlinearly with the GFBs. A simple model for the BBs predicts a constant drag torque and linear decay of speed with time. The test data validate the model predictions. For the GFBs, the hydrodynamic lubrication model predictions reveal that the drag torque increases linearly with speed, and the speed decreases exponentially with time. The predictions agree very well with the test data in the speed range of 100-30 krpm. The boundary lubrication model predicts a constant drag torque and linear decay of speed with time. The predictions agree well with the test data below 15 krpm. Mixed lubrication occurs in the speed range of 30-15 krpm. Rotor acceleration performances are predicted based on the characteristics of deceleration performances. The GFBs require more time to reach 100,000 krpm than the BBs because of their larger shaft polar moment of inertia. However, predictions for the assumed identical polar moment of inertia reveal that the GFBs have a nearly identical acceleration performance to that of the BBs with a motor torque greater than $0.03N{\cdot}m$.

In this paper, TM electromagnetic scattering problems for conductive strip grating between grounded double dielectric layers are analyzed by applying the FGMM(fourier galerkin moment method) and PMM(point matching method) known as a numerical method of electromagnetic field. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients. In order to deal with the problem of grounded double dielectric layers, numerical calculation was performed only when the thickness and relative permittivity of the dielectric layers had the same value. As the thickness of the dielectric layer and the relative permittivity increased, the overall reflected power increased, and the minimum values of the reflected power shifted in the direction of increasing the strip width. The numerical results obtained by applying the numerical methods of FGMM and PMM to the structure proposed in this paper agree very well.
