Position Control of Magnetic Levitation Transfer System by Pitch Angle

  • Magnetic levitation transfer systems are useful for transfer tools in clean rooms and positioning control systems with high precision because of frictionless characteristics. In this paper, the new method is proposed which is a sensorless position. At first, the magnetic levitation is performed by state feedback control with a disturbance observer for each of six axes of the movement of a levitated vehicle. The position of the vehicle is then estimated as the disturbance term of a disturbance observer for a pitch angle which is one of the control axes for the magnetic levitation. In addition, the positioning force is generated by the pitch angle control which gives a tilt to the levitated vehicle so that it generates the horizontal component of force.

  • Recently, in the manufacturing process of flat panel displays, mass production methods of inline system has been emerged. In particular the next generation OLED display manufacturing process, horizontal inline evaporation process has been tried. It is important for the success of OLED inline evaporation process to develop a magnetic levitation transport system capable of transferring a carrier equipped with a mother glass with high accuracy without any physical contact along the rail under vacuum condition. In the case of existing wheel-based transfer system, it is not suitable for OLED evaporation process requiring high cleanliness. On the other hand, the magnetic levitation transport system has an advantage that it does not generate any dust and it is possible to achieve high-precision control because there are not non-linear factors such as friction force. In this paper, we introduce the high-precision magnetic levitation transport system, which is currently under development, for OLED evaporation process.

  • 자기부상열차는 초기부상에서 정상상태에 이르는 짧은 시간동안 전류변화가 매우 큰 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 안정적으로 제어하기 위해서 다중루프제어를 적용하였다. 제어기가 포함된 전체시스템에 상태방정식의 특성방정식을 구하여 원하는 특성의 제어이득을 쉽게 구할 수 있도록, Bessel function 원형모델을 도입하여 극점을 설정하였다. 설정된 극점을 바탕으로 제어기를 구성하고, 시스템의 특성방정식을 구하여 계수비교 함으로써, 시스템의 안정된 제어 특성을 확인하였다.

The fabrication of bulk magnet stacked with HTS tapes for the magnetic levitation

  • With the innovative development of bio, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor technologies, it is essential to demand a next-generation transfer system that minimizes dust and vibrations generated during the manufacturing process. In order to develop dust-free and non-contact transfer systems, the high temperature superconductor (HTS) bulks have been applied as a magnet for levitation. However, sintered HTS bulk magnets are limited in their applications due to their relatively low critical current density (Jc) of several kA/cm2 and low mechanical properties as a ceramic material. In addition, during cooling to cryogenic temperatures repeatedly, cracks and damage may occur by thermal shock. On the other hand, the bulk magnets made by stacked HTS tapes have various advantages, such as relatively high mechanical properties by alternate stacking of the metal and ceramic layer, high magnetic levitation performance by using coated conductors with high Jc of several MA/cm2, consistent superconducting properties, miniaturization, light-weight, etc. In this study, we tried to fabricate HTS tapes stacked bulk magnets with 60 mm × 60 mm area and various numbers of HTS tape stacked layers for magnetic levitation. In order to examine the levitation forces of bulk magnets stacked with HTS tapes from 1 to 16 layers, specialized force measurement apparatus was made and adapted to measure the levitation force. By increasing the number of HTS tapes stacked layers, the levitation force of bulk magnet become larger. 16 HTS tapes stacked bulk magnets show promising levitation force of about 23.5 N, 6.538 kPa at 10 mm of levitated distance from NdFeB permanent magnet.

  • When the magnetic levitation system(MAGLEV) initially rise, The MAGLEV has a weak point that is very large variation of the electric current. In this paper, The author applied the multi-loop-control to stably control the magnetic levitation system(MAGLEV). The gains of the control algorithm were selected based on pole locations formulated from a prototype Bessel transfer function model. The design incorporate tradeoffs in DC-to-DC converter hard-ware para-meters and pole locations. In order to confirm the superiority of the proposed pole selection and controller, MATLAB simulation and experiment results are presented.

  • In this paper, the characteristics analysis results of the levitation controller of magnetically-levitated vehicle are presented. To get a good closed-loop system, the observer and controller must be designed to meet the control performance and ride quality requirements. So the transfer functions of the observer filter are described and analysed by using the relative and absolute signal concepts.

  • The rotating electrodynamic wheels can produce three-axial forces on the conductive target. The forces are linked strongly each other, and their magnitudes depend on the rotating speed of the wheel. However, the wheels can be used effectively as an actuating principle for transfer system of conductive material. The conductive material is a pipe with a constant cross-section or a conductive plate. In this paper, a few applications using the electrodynamic wheels as transferring means are introduced including the full description of the real hardware implementation.

Efficiency evaluation and characteristics of receiver coil under different inserted resonance coils in wireless power charging system for MAGLEV

  • As the wireless power transfer (WPT) technology based on strongly resonance coupled method realizes large power charging without any wires through the air, there are advantages compared with the wired counterparts, such as convenient, safety and fearless transmission of power. From this reason, the WPT systems have started to be applied to the wireless charging for various power applications such as train, underwater ship, electric vehicle. This study aims for the effect and characteristics of different inserted resonance coil between Tx and Rx coils for charging system of superconducting magnetic levitation (MAGLEV) train. The transfer efficiency and effect are evaluated with helix type, rectangular type copper resonance coil, and HTS resonance coil under bulb and HTS magnet load, respectively. The input power is adapted with radio frequency (RF) power of 370 kHz below 500 W.

  • This paper deals with the displacement estimation of magnetically suspended simple 1 DOF(degree of freedom) system without the displacement sensor. Inherently electro-magnet for control has two natural feedback loops. One is the transfer function which represents the dependance of the amount of the magnetic flux on the gap displace-ments. The other is the transfer function expressing the properties that the back electromotive force is derived from the time derivative of the magnetic flux. Through these two feedback loops, information about the gap length can be represented by the magnetic flux and the coil current. This means that the gap length can be detected from these two states variables of the electromagnet without a displacements sensor(self-sensing). The displacement can be estimated with the magnetic flux subtracted by the coil current. In this paper we use a balance beam in order to deal with the displacement sensorless estimation of the magnetic bearing system. For the stable estimation of the gap displacements by using the method of self-sensing simple PD controller is used. We first show the mathematical model of the balance beam, and then we show the effectiveness of the current and flux feedback for making stable estimation of the gap displacements for the balance beam. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the current and flux feedback for good estimation of the displacement without using displacement sensor.

  • 본 논문에서 자기 축수 시스템의 부상과 불평형 보상 제어기를 제안한다. 특정한 동작속도에서 불균형 진동과 부상을 제어하기위해 우리는 이산시간 Q 매개변수화 제어를 사용한다. 회전자의 속도가 p=0일 때, 회전소도와 같은 주파수로 회전자의 불균형은 없다. 그래서 부상을 만들기 위해 우리는 제어기가 z=1의 단위원에서 극점을 가지는 Q매개변수화 Q를 선택한다. 그러나 회전자의 속도가 p$\neq$0일 때, 회전속도와 같은 주파수로 정현파의 외란이 존재하게 된다. 그래서 이 외란의 점근적인 소멸을 하기위해 Q 매개화변수 제어기 자유 변수 Q가 제어기가 어떠한 회전속도 p에 대한 z=expjpTs에 있는 단위 원에서 극점을 가지도록 선택된다. 첫째로, 우리는 이 연구에서 적용된 실험적인 구성을 소개한다. 두 번째로, 우리는 차분 방정식의 형태로 자기축수 시스템의 수학적인 모델을 제안한다. 세 번째로 우리는 제안된 이산 시간 Q매개변수화 제어기 설계방법을 설명한다. 제어기의 자유 매개변수 Q는 안정한 전달함수가 된다고 가정한다. 네 번째로, 우리는 설계목적을 만족하는 자유 매개변수가 복잡한 최적문제를 풀기보다는 선형 방정식을 구함으로서 만족될 수 있다. 마지막으로 몇 개의 시뮬레이션과 실험적인 결과가 제언된 제어기를 평가하기 위해 구해진다. 획득된 결과는 회전설계 속도에서의 불균형 진동을 제어하는 제안된 제어기의 효과를 나타낸다.
