  • For probing magnetic fields in the universe, rotation measure (RM) have been often used. RM allows us to obtain the information of integrated (or averaged) magnetic fields along a line of sight (LOS). On the other hand, the new technique so-called Faraday tomography will be used in practical in the near future thanks to the wide-band polarimetry by Square kilometre Array and/or its precursors. The technique allows us to obtain so-called Faraday dispersion function (FDF). FDF is the distribution function of magnetic fields and polarized sources along a LOS. Because of this fact, it is expected that the studies of magnetic fields associated with various astronomical objects will progress dramatically. Since FDF also includes information of cosmic-rays and thermal electrons, the investigation of FDF may advance the studies of dynamics of external galaxies and/or the star formation activities. We have studied the potentials of Faraday tomography such as a tool to probe the intergalactic magnetic field associated with filaments of galaxies in the large scale structure. We have also studied the realistic FDFs of galaxies for understanding global magnetic field, cosmic-ray and thermal electrons of external galaxies. In the talk, we briefly introduce the Faraday tomography technique and report the results related to the Faraday tomography.

  • In the context of nonclassical nonlocal strain gradient elasticity, this article studies the free and forced responses of functionally graded material (FGM) porous nanoplates exposed to thermal and magnetic fields under a moving load. The developed mathematical model includes shear deformation, size-scale, miscorstructure influences in the framework of higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) and nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), respectively. To explore the porosity effect, the study considers four different porosity models across the thickness: uniform, symmetrical, asymmetric bottom, and asymmetric top distributions. The system of quations of motion of the FGM porous nanoplate, including the effects of thermal load, Lorentz force, due to the magnetic field and moving load, are derived using the Hamilton's principle, and then solved analytically by employing the Navier method. For the free and forced responses of the nanoplate, the effects of nonlocal elasticity, strain gradient elasticity, temperature rise, magnetic field intensity, porosity volume fraction, and porosity distribution are analyzed. It is found that the forced vibrations of FGM porous nanoplates under thermal and live loads can be damped by applying a directed magnetic field.

  • The new square electro-magnetic chuck, which is using for the clamping devices on a grinding machine, is developed in this study to improve the convenience of grinding works. The various kinds of structures are recommended to find the most adequate magnetic characteristics through the analytical approach using finite element methods. The analyzed results are retrofitted to solve the drawbacks of previous models step by step by considering the magnetic fields, strength and distribution of drag force, and thermal deformations of chuck. such as high parallelism and flatness. Finally the best recommended models is designed to satisfy the KS specifications required for the commercial magnetic chuck. The prototype chuck with this dimensions and structures is manufactured. For this final model, the experimental verifications are investigated whether the KS specifications are satisfied.

  • The presence of magnetic fields in the intracluster medium in clusters of galaxies has been revealed through several different observational techniques. These fields may be dynamically important in clusters as they will provide additional pressure support to the intracluster medium as well as inhibit transport mechanisms such as thermal conduction. Here, we review the current observational state of Faraday rotation measure studies of the cluster fields. The fields are generally found to be a few to 10 $\mu$G in non-cooling core clusters and ordered on scales of 10 - 20 kpc. Studies of sources at large impact parameters show that the magnetic fields extend from cluster cores to radii of at least 500 kpc. In central regions of cooling core systems the field strengths are often somewhat higher (10 - 40 $\mu$G) and appear to be ordered on smaller scales of a few to 10 kpc. We also review some of the recent work on interpreting Faraday rotation measure observations through theory and numerical simulations. These techniques allow us to build up a much more detailed view of the strength and topology of the fields.

  • The free and live load-forced vibration behaviour of porous functionally graded (PFG) higher order nanobeams in the thermal and magnetic fields is investigated comprehensively through this work in the framework of nonlocal strain gradient theory (NLSGT). The porosity effects on the dynamic behaviour of FG nanobeams is investigated using four different porosity distribution models. These models are exploited; uniform, symmetrical, condensed upward, and condensed downward distributions. The material characteristics gradation in the thickness direction is estimated using the power-law. The magnetic field effect is incorporated using Maxwell's equations. The third order shear deformation beam theory is adopted to incorporate the shear deformation effect. The Hamilton principle is adopted to derive the coupled thermomagnetic dynamic equations of motion of the whole system and the associated boundary conditions. Navier method is used to derive the analytical solution of the governing equations. The developed methodology is verified and compared with the available results in the literature and good agreement is observed. Parametric studies are conducted to show effects of porosity parameter; porosity distribution, temperature rise, magnetic field intensity, material gradation index, non-classical parameters, and the applied moving load velocity on the vibration behavior of nanobeams. It has been showed that all the analyzed conditions have significant effects on the dynamic behavior of the nanobeams. Additionally, it has been observed that the negative effects of moving load, porosity and thermal load on the nanobeam dynamics can be reduced by the effect of the force induced from the directed magnetic field or can be kept within certain desired design limits by controlling the intensity of the magnetic field.

  • We report on a numerical calculation study of two new functional properties in magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs), negative dynamic resistance and RF amplification. The magnetic dynamics in a conventional CoFeB/MgO/CoFeB MTJ with in-plane magnetization was investigated using a macro-spin model simulation. To examine the influence of thermal fluctuations, random external magnetic fields were also included. Using a voltage controlled bias circuit, the negative dynamic resistance was obtained from time averaged I-V characteristics at both 0 K and 300 K under appropriate external magnetic fields and bias voltages. Using this negative dynamic resistance property, we demonstrated RF amplification with a 100 MHz high frequency signal. Sizable RF amplification gain was observed without thermal fluctuation. However, at 300 K, the RF signal was not amplified because low frequency magnetization dynamics were dominant.

  • Based on a generalized variational principle for magneto-thermo-elasticity, a theoretical model is proposed to describe the coupled magneto-thermo-elastic interaction in soft ferromagnetic plates. Using the linearized theory of magneto-elasticity and perturbation technique, we analyze the magneto-elastic and magneto-thermo- elastic instability of simply supported ferromagnetic plates subjected to thermal and magnetic fields. A nonlinear finite element procedure is developed next to simulate the magneto-thermo-elastic behavior of a finite-size ferromagnetic plates. The effects of thermal and magnetic fields on the magneto-thermo-elastic bending and buckling is investigated in some detail.

  • Structural model of laminated composite plates based on the first order shear deformable plate theory and subjected to a combination of magnetic and thermal fields is developed. Coupled equations of motion are derived via Hamilton's principle on the basis of electromagnetic equations (Faraday, Ampere, Ohm, and Lorentz equations) and thermal ones which are involved in constitutive equations. In order to reveal the implications of a number of geometrical and physical features of the model, free vibration of a composite plate immersed in a transversal magnetic field and subjected to a temperature gradient is considered. Special coupling effects between the magnetic-thermal-elastic fields are revealed in this paper.
