유기발광재료의 조합합성 (Combinatorial Synthesis of Organic Luminescent Materials)

  • 신약개발 과정에서 선도물질을 도출하기 위한 유용한 방법으로 적용되어온 조합합성은 최근 분석과 검사 기술의 빠른 발전과 더불어 다양한 분야에서 응용되고 있다. 특히 분자구조와 특성 간의 상관관계를 예측하기 어려운 신물질 개발 분야에서 다양한 후보 물질들을 빠른 시간 내에 확보하기 위한 효율적인 전략으로 주목받고 있다. 그 동안 조합화학 및 조합합성 기법에 관하여 많은 수의 보고서와 총설들이 발표되었다. 본 총설에서는 조합합성을 이용한 신소재 개발 동향을 간략히 소개하고, 이를 응용한 유기발광재료 개발 사례들을 논의하고자 한다.

사파장 백색 발광 다이오드의 발광 특성 (Luminescent Properties of Four-Band White Light Emitting Diodes)

  • 보라색 발광 다이오드에 의해 여기되어 청색, 녹색, 적색을 발광하는 형광체로 각각 $BaMg_2Al_16O_27:Eu,\SrGa_2S_4:Eu$, ZnCdS:Ag,Cl 형광체를 선택하였다. 보라색 발광 다이오드의 발광에서 형광체에 의해서 완전히 흡수되지 않고 나오는 보라색 발광과 $BaMg_2Al_16O_27:Eu,\SrGa_2S_4:Eu$, ZnCdS:Ag,Cl 형광체에서 나오는 청색, 녹색, 적색 발광을 조합하여 사파장 백색 발광 다이오드를 만들었다. 사파장 백색 발광 다이오드의 발광 특성을 확인하였다.

  • Highly luminescent efficiency phosphors have been successfully produced by surface modification and microwave irradiation treatment. The SEM image and XRD analysis reveal that the surface morphology of the white-light phosphors can be notably modified by microwave irradiation and exhibit with better crystalline property. The VUV PL spectra show that the microwave irradiation treatment can effectively enhance the luminescent efficiency by a factor of 1.5 times for intensity compared to that without microwave treatment. A further improvement in all visible emission can be made by modifying surface composition through MgO coating on the phosphor powder. These results demonstrate that such a simple approach can provide for improving luminescent efficiency of phosphors for the optoelectronic devices.

  • Transparent glass-ceramics containing fresnoite crystals have been prepared by controlled heat treatment in $K_2O-BaO-TiO_2-SiO_2$ and their nonlinear optical and luminescent properties were investigated using Maker fringe method and Spectrofluorometer. The second harmonic generation was observed in all samples and the values decreased with increasing $K_2O$ content. The luminescence of blue light at ${\sim}482nm$ could be observed and it was shown that the luminescent property was controlled by the $K_2O$ content.

  • In this report, Manganese doped magnesium germanate ($Mg_4GeO_2:Mn$) phosphor has been synthesized by the solid state method. Also, this phosphor was prepared by simple process under an air atmosphere for oxidation of Mn. The prepared phosphor shows a main luminescent peak at 661nm. Therefore, this phosphor is possible to be applicable to white LED lamp by GaN or InGaN chips.

  • In this report, cerium doped lutetium aluminate ($Lu_3Al_5O_{12}$:Ce) phosphor has been synthesized by the solid state method under reduction atmosphere with mixture gas. The prepared phosphor shows a main luminescent peak at 555nm. Consequently, this phosphor is possible to be applicable to white LED lamp by InGaN chips.

고상법에 의한 BaSrSiO4 형광체의 분말합성 및 발광특성 (Synthesis of BaSrSiO4 Phosphors by Solid State Reaction and Its Luminescent Properties)

  • In this study, green barium strontium silicate phosphor ($BaSrSiO_4:Eu^{3+}$, $Eu^{2+}$) was synthesized using a solid-state reaction method in air and reducing atmosphere. Investigation of the firing temperature indicates that a single phase of $BaSrSiO_4$ is formed when the firing temperature is higher than $1400^{\circ}C$. The effect of firing temperature and doping concentration on luminescent properties are investigated. The light-emitting property was the best when the molar content of $Eu_2O_3$ was 0.025 mol. Also, the luminescent brightness of the $BaSrSiO_4$ fluorescent substance was the best when the particle size of the barium was $0.5{\mu}m$. $BaSrSiO_4$ phosphors exhibit the typical green luminescent properties of $Eu^{3+}$ and $Eu^{2+}$. The characteristics of the synthesized $BaSrSiO_4:Eu^{3+}$, $Eu^{2+}$ phosphor were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy. The maximum emission band of the $BaSrSiO_4:Eu^{3+}$, $Eu^{2+}$ was 520 nm.

  • $SrGa_2S_4$:Eu는 녹색을 발광하는 형광체로 전계 방출 디스플레이, 음극선 발광 분야에 널리 응용되고 있다. 일반적으로 $SrGa_2S_4$:Eu의 합성은 $SrCO_3$,$Ga_2O_3$, 그리고 $Eu_2O_3$$H_2S$ 와 Ar 가스를 흘려주면서 고온에서 소송하는 고상반응법으로 합성하였다. 본 연구에서는 SrS, Eu 착물, 그리고 Ga 착물의 분해 반응을 통해서 $SrGa_2S_4$:Eu 형광체를 합성하였다. 이 방법의 장점은 Ar 가스 뿐 만 아니라 독성의 $H_2S$를 사용하지 않는 것이다. $SrGa_2S_4$:Eu 형광체의 합성 조건과 발광 특성을 검토하였다.

  • $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}:Mn$ phosphor particles were prepared by a flame spray pyrolysis method. It has been generally known that the high-temperature flame enables fast drying and decomposition of droplets. In the present investigation, the morphology and luminescent property of $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}:Mn$ phosphor were controlled in a severe flame preparation condition. The particle formation in the flame spray pyrolysis process was achieved by the droplet-to-particle conversion without any evaporation of precursors, which made it possible to obtain spherical $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}:Mn$ particles of a pure phase from a droplet. Using colloidal solutions wherein dispersed nano-sized silica particles were adopted as a silicon precursor. $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}:Mn$ particles with spherical shape and filled morphology were prepared and the spherical morphology was maintained even after the high-temperature heat treatment, which is necessary to increase the photoluminescence intensity. The $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}:Mn$ particles with spherical shape, which were prepared by the flame spray pyrolysis and posttreated at $1150^{\circ}C$, showed good luminescent characteristics under vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excitation.

  • II-$III_{2}-(S,Se)_{4}$ structured of phosphor have been used at various fields because they have high luminescent efficiency and broad emission band. Among these phosphors, europium doped $BaGa_{2}S_{4}$ was prepared by solid-state method. We investigated the possibility of applying [ ] due to emissive property of UV region. Also, general sulfide phosphors were synthesized by using injurious $H_{2}S$ $CS_{2}$ gas. However, this study prepared $BaGa_{2}S_{4}:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor is addition to excess sulfur under 5% $H_{2}$/95% $N_{2}$ reduction atmosphere. So, this process could involved large scale synthesis because of non-harmfulness and simple process. The photo-luminescence efficiency of the prepared $BaGa_{2}S_{4}:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor increased by 20% compared with commercial $BaGa_{2}S_{4}:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor. From this, we could conclude that the prepared $BaGa_{2}S_{4}:Eu^{2+}$ could be applied to green phosphor for white LED of three wavelengths.
