효율적인 비디오 유사도 측정을 위한 휘도 투영모델 (Luminance Projection Model for Efficient Video Similarity Measure)

  • 비디오 데이터들의 효율적 색인과 검색을 위해서는 비디오 시퀀스의 유사도 측정방법이 매우 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문은 비디오 시퀀스에 대한 효율적인 유사도 측정을 위해 휘도 성분 투사법을 제안한다. 기존의 알고리즘들이 히스토그램, 윤곽선, 움직임등과 같은 특성을 사용한 반면 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘은 휘도 성분을 투사하는 방법을 사용하여 비디오 유사도 특성을 효율적으로 나타낼 수 있다. 비디오 데이터의 효율적인 색인과 계산량 감소를 위해 누적된 유사도에 의해 추출된 키프레임들을 이용하여 비디오 시퀀스의 유사도를 구하고 수정된 하우스도르프 거리를 사용하여 키프레임 묶음들의 유사도를 측정하였다. 실험결과 제안한 휘도투시법을 사용한 비디오 색인 기법이 유사도 특성에서 기존의 특성을 사용한 방법에 비해 확연한 정확도 및 성능 차이를 보였다.

  • In this article, we present a method to measure precisely the performances of direct-lit CCFL backlights using a luminance meter and dedicated image analysis software. The array of CCFL tubes alone can be measured directly and the luminance of each tube can be extracted along its main dimension. So, comparison of the different tubes on the same backlight can be made easily and the performances in terms of backlight uniformity improved. The influence of the diffuser sheet can be probed in the same way and the homogeneity of the entire surface of the backlight can be automatically extracted and quantified.

  • Electroluminescent(EL) devices based on organic thin films are considered to be one of the next generation of flat-panel displays. In this paper, we have investigated electro-luminescent(EL) characteristics of organic EL device using $Alq_3$, PBD as emitting material. Current and luminance can be seen that express a similar relativity in voltage and could know that luminance is expressing current relativity.

  • The on-axis luminance gain as well as the viewing-angle characteristics of flat-lamp-based backlights have been analyzed for the first time. The on-axis luminance gain on each optical film in flat-lamp backlight was smaller than that obtained from the conventional tubular-lamp-based backlight. The origin of and possible solution to this problem were suggested.

  • High Luminance PDPs have been developed using high efficient electrode structure, discharge gas and fishbone type barrier ribs. New phosphors for the good picture quality were developed. Also, New manufacturing processes such as CPBB were applied in order to reduce processing steps. High Luminance of 1,000 $cd/m^2$ was obtained in the series of 42 inch, 50 inch and 60 inch PDPs.

  • A 30Watt inverter with 300: 1 dimming capability for high luminance, one cell, surface discharge plasma light source for LCD backlight was designed and tested. It was possible to achieve 300:1 dimming control by using the push-pull type inverter with burst-mode dimming control. The surface discharge plasma light cell with luminance of more than 5, 260 cd/$m^2$ was successfully operated.

An Efficient Video Retrieval Algorithm Using Luminance Projection

  • An effective video indexing is required to manipulate large video databases. Most algorithms for video indexing have been commonly used histograms, edges, or motion features. In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm using the luminance projection for video retrieval. To effectively index the video sequences and to reduce the computational complexity, we use the key frames extracted by the cumulative measure, and compare the set of key frames using the modified Hausdorff distance. Experimental results show that the proposed video indexing and video retrieval algorithm yields the higher accuracy and performance than the conventional algorithm.

  • MgO thick film for ac-PDPs was formed via electrophoresis deposition process and its effect on luminance and luminance efficiency were evaluated. The electrophoresis deposition process of MgO thick film was optimized through parametric study and defects levels in MgO powders was evaluated using cathodoluminescence spectra measurements. The results demonstrate a possibility of using MgO thick film as electron emission layer for ac-PDPs.
