This study deals with a comparative analysis of wooden assembly methods between Japanese traditional architecture and Kuma, Kengo's works. Kuma, Kengo has known as an architect who pursues Japanese architectural traditions with integrated solutions for built and natural environments, and expresses a deep commitment to unexpected use of materials such as stone and wood with the clarity of structural solutions. Accordingly, his architecture focuses on the appreciation of the spatial relationship with the surrounding, its local characters, and the selection of materials. This article first examines two of wooden assembly methods that have been shown in Japanese traditional architecture such as 'two-way system' and 'one-way system'. And then, Kuma, Kengo's wooden assembly methods in his works are analyzed and compared in relation to Japanese wooden assembly methods to find out similarities and differences between them. Then, it concludes that Kuma, Kengo's approach is not only relying on the methods of Japanese traditional architecture, but also exploring creative ways beyond traditional assembly methods.
This study is conducted to establish the structural standard of tube and coupler scaffold which is suitable for our present stuation through the comparison analysis for domestic and foreign standards as well as measurement of field survey. The results of this study are as follows : 1) The load is classified by three categories, light-duty(equal and lower than 150kg/m$^2$), medium-duty(150-250 kg/m$^2$), heavy-duty(250-350kg/m$^2$), and the equivalent horizontal length of side posts is each, 1.5-1.8m, 1.2-1.5m, equal and lower than 1.2m, and the equivalent horizontal length between front and rear posts is each 1.2-1.5m, 0.9-1.2m, equal and lower thatn 0.9m, in accordance with the load classification. 2) The height between upper and lower runner is equal and lower than 1.5m, and the brace across the width of scaffold should be installed within 15m in horizontal direction at 45 degree angle. 3) The entire scaffold should be securely tied to the wall of permanent structure with uslng anchor and bolt at intervals not to exceed 6m in case of non-connection and 4.5m in case of connection in both horizontal and vertical direction. 4) The post should be installed on the sound foundation tied to lumber footing with using base plate, and standard platform plank should be produced in the factory and widely used in the construction field.
The method of conductor wiring is that a messenger wire is installed, the end of the wire is connected to the conductor and a engine puller pulls the conductor. The length of one section of wiring is $3{\sim}5km$ and one group messenger wire pulls simultaneously $2{\sim}4$ group conductor, while a tensioner maintains wiring tension to prevent the deflection of the conductor. However, there are many obstacles such as roads, power lines, communication lines, buildings, farms and crops. Therefore to prevent damage from conductor deflection a staging is used. The currently used staging is scaffolding lumber which is difficult to secure and it's construction efficiency is very low because it requires a lot of time and manpower. So this study developed a insulating defense tube and pipe connecting device, and a truss structure fabrication module using steel pipe which reduces construction time and cost through a compressive and dielectric strength test.
Although body pressure distribution is sensitive to movements and is relatively simple to measure even in small space, there are few researches involving applications to driver's posture and its change. The main objective in this study is the application of body pressure distribution measurements for the prediction of the driver's posture and its change. This requires quantitative analyses of the dynamic body pressure distribution, which is the change of body pressure distribution with time. The experiment involved 16 male subjects who drove for 45 minutes in a seating buck. Measurement time, stature group, and lumbar support prominence were selected as independent variables, with subjective ratings of driver's discomfort, body posture data of hip, torso. knee angle, and body pressure data variables as dependent variables. The body pressure change variables and subjective ratings were found to increase as the measurement time increased and body pressure ratio variables reflected the torso angle. From the results and analysis of the body posture data and subjective rating results, it was predicted that the seats and the design of the lumbar supports used in the experiment was not fit for tall subjects, which could also be confirmed through the body pressure distribution data.

The purpose of the study presented in this paper is to develope the general model for capture of the linear and nonlinear response of a flexible diaphragm building in which there are significant contributions from the out-of-plane walls. Two single-story single-diaphragm half scale reinforced masonry buildings were tested by researchers at the United States Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL). The first had a metal deck diaphragm. The second specimen had a diaphragm with a single layer of diagonal lumber sheathing, A multiple degree of freedom (MDOF) approach is adopted in this paper. The required stiffnesses and strengths of the components within this model are determined.

The object of this study is the new city hall of Miyashiro in Saitama pref., Japan, which was built through local resident participation. The purpose of this study is to offer the reference data of regional public facilities by researching the process, role and meaning of resident participation and architectural characteristics and meanings. The results of the study are as follows. First, the new city hall of Miyashiro was built through voluntary will and efforts of the residents. Through close cooperation of the local residents, administration and specialists, it took into significant consideration regional conditions and individual characteristics. Second, the new city hall of Miyashiro applied the concept of barrier-free for children, the aged and handicapped, etc. Third, the new city hall of Miyashiro introduced wooden structure making the most of the merits of lumber. Finally, the new town hall of Miyashiro took sustainability into consideration by striving for the efficiency of energy application.
Alignment of the hip joint and pelvis affects it's weight-bearing capabilities as well as the motion available at the joints. The normal hip joint is well designed to withstand the forces that act through and around it, assisted by the trabecular systems, cartilagious, muscles, and ligaments. Alterations in the direction or magnitude of forces action around the injury and degenerative changes. The integration of motion of the pelvis with motion of the vertebral column not only increases the ROM available to the total column but also reduces the amount of flexibility required of the lumbar lesion. In any instance in which there is normal or abnormal pelvic motion during weight hearing and the head must remain upright, compensatory motions of the lumber spine will occur if available. The motions that occur at the hip, pelvis, and lumbar spine during forward trunk bending with the motions that occur during anterior and posterior tilting of the pelvis in the erect standing postion.
This study is to develop a mulit-layer glued columns for construction of Korean-style houses by using domestic small diameter logs. Dried small square lumber glued each other to develop a multi-layer glued columns and evaluated its performance of strength. Then, predicted the design load of multi-layer glued columns and make a comparison between actual load and design load of multi-layer glued columns. In the results, allowable load by allowable stress of multi-layer glued columns was measured one-third of actual columns load and prediction load was measured less than 10~30% of the actual load. Therefore, muilt-layer glued member has a standard allowable stress of compressive of 13 MPa (Larix leptolepis) and 19 MPa (Chamaecyparis obtusa) when used as columns. Also, using compression strength of small diameter square logs could calculate maximum loads of multi-layer glued member as column.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to search effect that GCM joint treatment gets to range of motion of cervical, lumbar, trunk and anke. And cervical gets in ankle joint. Methods: Estimated body deformity using GCM body type assesment chart then measured range of motion of each region. After control group did as act freely after do experiment pre measurement control group did post measurement. After control group did as act freely after do experiment premeasurement, control group did postmeasurement. Each region was measured by measurer who each subject person differs. Experimental group did GCM joint treatment and all measurements each region by measurer who each subject person differs three times measure postmeasurement after premeasurement. When measure with each measurement, measured after leave and walk time interval for 10 minutes. Result: For the analysis of the result of experiment, the results is change amount comparison increased to keep in mind except cervical flexion and both ankle joint's dorsiflexion after experiment of experimental group. In experimental group, cervical, lumber and ankle joint of range of motion was significantly increased(p<.05).
Shear tests parallel to the grain were conducted on domestic wood samples with different growth ring orientations. Shear strength was dependent on the angles between the direction of growth ring orientation and the applied force. The maximum shear strength showed at the intermediate growth ring orientations. Results of shear tests were also used to modify the formula which had previously been developed to predict the withdrawal strength of screw on the face of lumber. Predicted equations were fitted to the results of previous study with different length of No. 8 screw. Predicted equation was under-predicted the withdrawal strength of 25 and 30 mm length of screw within 8% and over-predicted withdrawal strength of 18 and 38 mm length of screw. A little differences between the predicted by shear strength with different growth ring orientation and observed values was existed.
