마이크로파 응용을 위한 고온초전도 필터 서브-시스템

  • Since unloaded Q-value of a high-temperature superconductor(HTS) filter is very high, a bandpass filter(BPF) and a lowpass filter(LPF) with an increase of pole numbers can be fabricated without an increase of an insertion loss(IL) ; recently a 70-pole BPF is developed in USA. They have an abrupt skirt property and an excellent attenuation level for out-of band. Moreover, they can be miniaturized when lumped element resonators or the slow-wave characteristic are used. Technology of fabricating a HTS epitaxial film as well as a film of a 4 inch area also makes the planar type filter with a various structure and an enhanced power handling capability possible. Recently, the HTS filter subsystems composed of a planar-type HTS filters, a GaAs-based LNA and a mini-cryocooler are developed. The extended receiver front- end subsystems for mobile radio communications decrease the noise-figure level of the communication system and the frequency interference interacted adjacent bands, and increase the efficiency of frequency and the capacity of communication system. In this paper, theory for developing the HTS filter, its kinds, its design rules, its characteristics are reviewed. The feature of the research and market trends related to the HTS filter systems for the receiver front-end subsystem of mobile base station are surveyed.

Design and Implementation of Receiver Algorithms for VDL Mode-2 Systems (VDL Mode-2 시스템을 위한 수신 알고리듬 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose the receiver algorithms suitable for the VHF (Very High Frequency) digital link mode-2(VDL Mode-2) system. Unlike conventional digital communication systems using the root raised cosine filter as a transmit and receive filter, raised cosine filter is used as a transmit filter in the VDL Mode-2 system. Hence, it is crucial to design and implement the optimum lowpass receive filter by considering inter-symbol interference and noise performance. On the other hand, due to the short preamble pattern, it is crucial to develop an efficient packet detection algorithm for reliable communication link for the VDL Mode-2 system. Also, frequency offset due to the carrier frequency difference between transmitter and receiver and doppler frequency shift must be estimated and compensated for reliable communication. In this paper, the optimum receive filter, packet detection and frequency offset compensation algorithms are proposed and the performance of the VDL system employing the proposed algorithms are evaluated.

  • 본 논문에서는 class AB opamp 를 채용한 384kHz differential PWM 신호를 입력으로 하는 2-channel stereo audio amplifier 블록을 공급전압 3.3V 조건에서 SMIC 0.18um thick oxide 기술을 이용하여 설계한다. 여기서 class AB opamp 는 공정 변화에 따른 quiescent current가 변하는 것을 최소화하기 위하여 adaptive load 를 사용하며, 전체적으로는 3 차 Butterworth lowpass filter 와 differential-to-single converter 로 구성된 2 개의 audio amplifier 와 출력전압이 ${\frac{1}{2}}Vdd$ 인 common output 블록으로 구성된다. 이러한 설계를 통하여 32ohm 의 저항 load 를 구동할 수 있는 -60dB THD, 전체 quiescent current 2mA 대인 CMOS class AB stereo audio amplifier 를 구현하였다.

Development and Validations of Air Data System using MEMS Sensor for High-Performance UAV (MEMS 압력센서를 이용한 고성능 무인항공기용 공력자료시스템의 개발과 검증)

  • The air data system(ADS) was developed for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) in this paper. Generally, the ADS helps flight control computer(FCC) to control the UAV above the stall speed and to hold the given altitude. The accurate measurement of airspeed and altitude of UAV is important because it indicates a flight performance and assures a safe flight. The ADS consists of MEMS pressure sensors, a lowpass filter, a micro controller unit and a pitot-tube. The ADS errors were reduced by pressure and temperature compensation of MEMS sensors. Finally, the altitude and airspeed data of the ADS was compared with GPS data in the flight test.

Development of a Fetal Heart Rate Detection Algorithm using Phonogram (포노그램을 이용한 태아 심박률 검출 알고리즘의 개발)

  • This study describes a fetal heart rate(FHR) estimation algorithm using phonogram. Using a phonogram amplifier, various fetal heart sounds are collected in a university hospital. The FHR estimation algorithms consists of a lowpass filter, decimation, envelop detection, pitch detection, and post-processing. The post-processing is the FHR decision procedure using all informations of fetal heart rates. Using the algorithm and other parameters of fetal heart sound, a fetal monitoring software was developed. This can display the original signals, the FFT spectra, FHR and its trajectory. Even though the fetal phonogram amplifier detects the fetal heart sounds well, the sound quality is not so good as the ultrasonography. In case of very week fetal heart sound, autocorrelation of it showed clear periodicity. But two main peaks in one period is an obstacle in pitch detection and peaks are not so vivid. The proposed FHR estimation algorithm showed very accurate and stable results. Since the developed software displays multiple parameters in real time and has convenient functions, it will be useful for the phonogram-style fetal monitoring device.

Comparison between In-situ data(Tide gauge) and Satellite data(Topex/poseidon) in the East Sea (한국 동해 해역의 조위계 현장자료와 Topex/Poseidon 위성자료간의 비교 연구)

  • 한반도 동해의 외해역(울릉도) 및 내해역에서(포항 및 묵호)의 조사된 T/P 해면자료와 TG해면자료간의 상관성이 각각 어떻게 나타나는가를 파악하기 위하여 본 연구를 수행하였다. 이때의 1992년 10월부터 1997년 12월까지 관측된 T/P자료와 TG자료를 각각 이용하였다. 본 연구로부터 우리는 다음과 같은 몇 가지 결과를 알 수 있었다. 1) 비교적 조석의 영향이 우세한 내해역에 위치한 포항 및 묵호가 외해역에 위치한 울릉도에 비해서 낮은 상관성을 보였다. 이러한 큰 차이는 M2, S2, Kl 분조 등에 의한 조석변형 때문에 발생하는 현상이다. 이것은 주로 T/P자료에 기인하는 조석오차이다. 2) 조석변형 때문에 발생하는 신호는 해양신호와 관계없는 잘못된 거짓신호로서 이를 제거하기 위해서는 lowpass filter를 적용하는 것이 좋다. 대체로 외해역의 경우는 60일, 120일, 180일, 200일의 필터를 순차적으로 처리함에 따라 상호 두 자료간의 유의성이 점차적으로 개선되는 것을 알 수 있었으나, 내해역의 경우에는 거의 유의성이 개선되지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 3) 200일의 필터를 처리했을 때, 외해역에 위치한 울릉도는 상관값이 0.91로 매우 높은 유의성을 보였고, 그리고 내해역에 위치한 포항 및 묵호는 각각 0.58 및 0.65로서 울릉도에 비해서 상대적으로 낮은 유의성을 보였다.

  • In this paper, an implementation method for digital filters using the residue arithmetic is proposed. This method can be used for processing digital signals with larger number of bits by applying the idea of the bit-slice algorithm, while previous residue digital filters can process digital signals with only a small number of bits. Furthermore, high-speed residue addition, subtrac-tion, and multiplication using look-up tables make it possible to get more flexible filters. Everything that is mentioned above is proved by implementing a cascade fourth-order Butterworth lowpass digital filter using this method.

New Harmonic Suppressed Microstirp Ring Bandpass Filters

  • In this paper, new bandpass filters that are composed of microstrip ring resonators with the center frequency of 5.775 GHz and the bandwidth of 100 MHz are presented. For the suppression of the unnecessary harmonics, lowpass filters are inserted into the feedlines and ring resonator itself, respectively These bandpass filters show good microwave characteristics with the harmonic suppression ratio of about 39 dB and 35 dB, respectively. Also, the varactor-tuned microstip ring bandpass filter with harmonic suppression is suggested and the tuning bandwidth of more than 450 MHz is obtained.

  • In this paper, CMOS analog filters for use in the Analog front End of digital subscriber loop(DSL) chip set are proposed. Designed filters contain receiver continuous-time filters which are composed of lowpass and highpass functions. And their cutoff frequency are 138H1z and 1.1MHz respectively. A low-voltage gm-c integrator is improved and used to design filters. Desisned filters are verified by HSPICE simulation with the 0.25${\mu}m$ CMOS n-well parameter.

  • Evoked Potentials signals occur as a result of neuroelectric responses of the brain to sensory stimulation. In this paper, to analysis such signals we utilize a time-frequency analysis technique called wavelet transform. The wavelet analysis is performed based on a single prototype function,which can be thought of as a bandpass filter. Because the wavelet transform in a fine temporal analysis decomposes time-varying signals in EP into a dilated lowpass and a contracted highpass components, EP signal fetures can be obtained and analysed quantitatively at the levels of resolution. In the results, we analyze the VEP signal with the wavelet transform.
