20대 여성의 하반신 체형 관찰 (A Study on the Lower Body Somatotype of the 20s' Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify the lower body of the lost women and to investigate the three-dimensional characteristics of each lower body somatotype of them. The subject were ninety seven women whose. age were twenties and whose height and bust girth were in the range of mean$\pm1\delta$ of typical body size of twenties' Korean women. The forty one variables of their lower body were measured by Martin's Anthropometric Instrument. And they were analyzed for mean, standard deviations factor analysis, and cluster analysis. In the second phase of analysis, the three participants were re-selected in each type were measured by Sliding Guage and analyzed their lower body somatotype. The results were as follows; The components of lower body of 20s' women were extracted with 7 factors through factor analysis and orthogonal rotation by the method of Varimax. The rate of the cumulative contribution was 84.1% the first factor was the thickness of lower body, the second factor was the vertical size of lower body the third factor was the front shape of hip, the forth factor was the vertical size of hip, the fifth factor was the shape of abdomen, the six factor was the flat-ratio of waist and the seventh factor was flat-ratio of hip. The somatotype of 20's women's lower body can be classified into 3 types. Type 1 is the standard somatotype of 20's women's lower body and the 34.0% of the participants in the study was categorized into type 1. Type 2 is a short and corpulency type with protruded abdomen and hip and the 29.9% of the participants in the study was categorized into type 2. And the type 3 is a tall and thin type with plat abdomen and hip and the 37.1% of the participants was categorized into type 3.

여중생의 하반신 측면체형의 분류 및 특성 (Characteristics and Classification of the Lower Body Somatotype of Junior High School Girls through Side View Silhouette)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify the lower body somatotype based on the side view and to analyze the characteristics of each somatotype. The subject were 234 Korean Junior High School Girls. Data were collected through photographic sources and analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis and analysis of variance. The result of factor analysis indicated that 4 factors were extracted through factor analysis and those factorscomprised 73.5% of total variance. Using factor scores, cluster analysis was carried out and the subject were classified into 3 clusters. Each cluster was classified as their lower bobs side view contour.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of perceptions of somatotype on the satisfaction of somatotype and the clothing behavior. The respondents included 201 female student volunteers, aged 19 to 27, who were enrolled at university in Busan. The questionnaire was composed of three sections; perceived somatotype-self, satisfaction of somatotype and clothing behavior. Data were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, and regression analysis. This study established the factors(the lower half the body, the upper half of the body, height, body-shape)as the perception of somatotype. In the clothing behavior, this study drew the 3 factor(aesthetics, fit, utility). The result of regression analysis reveals that the perceptions of somatotype-self are major determinant to influence on the satisfaction of somatotype. But the perceptions of somatotype-self are major determinant to influence on the aesthetic factor among three factors.

여대생의 체형 인식도와 만족도 차이 연구 (The Comparative Study on Perception and Satisfaction of Somatotype of University Woman Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the actual somatotype and perceptual somatotype, and to compare actual somaotype with ideal somatotype, and to explore segmentation based on perception of slim/obese somatotype. The respondents included 201 female student volunteers, aged 19 to 27, who were enrolled at university in Busan. Data were analyzed by paired t-test, correlation analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA. The results were as follows; The subjects tended to be satisfied with long and slim, slim limbs, and preferred to be tall in height and light in weight. And perceptual somatotype was related to satisfaction of somatotype. Cluster analysis was female college students to identify groups of respondents based on the perception of somatotype(all the body, the upper half of the body, the lower half of the body)difference factors. Based on the finding, three distinct groups were formed: slim tendency group, moderators tendency group, obese tendency group. There were a significant among slim tendency group, moderators tendency group, and obese tendency group base on the perceptual somatotype. There were significant differences among the three groups in terms of perception of somatotype and satisfaction of somatotype.

노년 남성의 하반신 체형 유형화에 관한 연구 (Classification of the Lower Half of the Body by the Somatotypes of Elderly Men)

  • This study aims at presenting the basic data related to the somatotype of elderly men at the point of Korea's entering into an aging society. Efforts were made to classify the lower-half somatotype of elderly men, with the application of the measurements of 261 elderly men of 60 years of age and over up to 70, which were available from the physique measurement survey project for Koreans. The number of analysis items was 31. The statistical treatment was made through SPSS win 12.0 program, and the analytical methods used were the basic statistics, factor analysis, and cluster analysis. The findings are as follows: Elderly men experienced the decreases in height and weight, in comparison with middle-aged ones, while they showed a flat shape at trunk, with more protruded waist and abdomen and with flat buttock. The analysis of the constituting factors for the lower-half body of elderly men resulted in the 6 items. The elements constituting the lower-half body of elderly men included the shape from waist to hip, the spread of hip and height of knee, the shape of leg, thigh size, the length of leg, and the volume of abdominal. The total accountability was 81.59 %. The cluster analysis for lower-half somatotype of elderly men resulted in the classification of three types. The above findings are intended to assist the designing of ready-made slacks with a high level of fitness for elderly men.

지수치를 이용한 노년 여성의 하반신 체형 유형화에 관한 연구 (Lower Body Somatotype Classification and Discrimination of Elderly Women According to Index)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data on the development of ready-to-wear clothing for the elderly women as the population of the elderly has been constantly increasing as well as the purchasing power of the aged. The body measurements of 318 elderly women were taken. whose ages were over 60 years and enrolled in colleges for the elderly. sports centers. or business sites in Seoul and the neighboring districts. A total of 39 features in the lower body were used for the anthropometric measurement and analysis. The results of the study are as follows: 1. Indices of height and weight were used for factor analysis. cluster analysis, and discriminant analysis in order to 'classify lower body somatotype according to shape, excluding size factors. From the results of the factor analysis. the 5 factors showed the cumulative sum of square at 75.63%. 2. Somatotype were classified into two types according to a cluster analysis using height and weight dices. Type 1 is the group is relatively tall and has somewhat fat lower limbs. Type 2 is considered fat and has obesity factors around waist and abdomen area. The hit rate for the classified two groups showed the result at 95.9%.

  • The effective construction for ready-made clothes is one of the central concerns of both consumers and manufactures in today's apparel industry. So in order to reduce the burden of stocks and increase clothing fitness, systematic information on typical body size and somatotypes is essential. This study was performed to provide fundamental data on junior high school girls' somatotype by classifying the lower body somatotype and analyzing the characteristics of each somatotype. The subject were 234 Korean Junior High School Girls. The subjects were directly measured anthropometrically and indirectly analyzed photographically. The result of factor analysis indicated that 6 factors were extracted through factor analysis and those factors comprise 70.2% of total variance. Using factor scores cluster analysis was carried out and the subject were classified into 3 cluster as their lower boby front and side silhouette.

노년기 여성 체형의 자세 및 실루엣 (A Study on Somatotype of Elderly Women)

  • The objective of this study was to provide fundamental data on somatotype for elderly women by classifying the somatotype and analysing the 3 characteristics of their somatotype. The subject were 368 women of 60~84 years old, they were analyzed indirect photography. To find out differences among the age groups, the 368 subjects were grouped into two age groups (Group 1 ; age 60 to 69, Group 2 ; aged 70 to 84). Data were analyzed using Factor analysis, Cluster analysis, duncan test and Analysis of variance. Through the factor analysis, 27 items from photometric measurements respectively. Cluster analysis was applied for classification of somatotype. The results of this study were as follows. 1. The characteristics of Elderly women's somatotype were bending of the upper-torso, fatness of the waist and abdomen, drooping of the bust and shoulder and hip. In addition, height, girth, depth and width items were decreased in their sizes respectively. 2. The characteristics of clusters were as follows. Type 1 was straight somatotype in which the plumb line through tragion, the bust depth and under bust depth region laterally. Type 2 was swayback somatotype in which the upper portion of protruding point on the back was bent forward but the lower portion of protruding point had a characteristics of turning over somatotype. Type 3 was bending somatotype. Namely, this type was shorter than average and below the average fatness. Generally, the lateral view silhouette of elderly women was the straight type and changed into bending type as the age increases.

중년여성의 의복구성을 위한 상반신 체형분류 (Classification of Upper Torso Somatotype for the Construction of Middle-Aged Women's Clothing)

  • Clothing fitness is strongly required in the apparel industry, and draping is an effective tool to increase fitness to the wearers. A more sophisticated and systematic information of the somatotype, accordingly, is necessary for better cress form design. This study was performed to provide fundamental data on middle aged women's upper torso for dress form designers and pattern makers by classifying the somatotype based on each individual's lateral view, and analyzing the characteristics of their somatotype. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, analysis of variance. Factor analysis was used to 23 items from photometric measurment and cluster analysis was applied for classification of upper torso forms. Through cluster analysis using 5 factor scores, 3 somatotypes were categorized from th lateral view 1) Type I was straight somatotype in which the plumb line passes throught the lobe of the ear, the shoulder joing and the mid abdominal region laterally. This type of woman was slender and shorter than average. 2) Type II was bending somatotype in which the upper portion of upper torso is bent forward. This type of woman was taller and fatter than average. 3) Type III was swayback somatotype in which the upper portion of protruding point on the back is bent forward but the lower portion of protruding point had characteristic of turning over somatotype. This type of woman had storter length on the front and longer lenght on the back, slender type and flat chest.

This study was performed to provide fundamental data on junior-high school girls' somatotype by classifying the lower body somatotype and analyzing the characteristics of each somatotype. The subject were 236 Korean junior-high school girls. The subject were directly measured anthropometrically and indirectly analyzed photographically. By direct measurement, 5 factors were extracted through factor analysis and the subject were classified into 4 duster as their lower body front silhouette. By indirect measurement, 5 factors ore extracted through factor analysis and the subject were classified into 3 cluster as their lower body side silhouette. After combining the body types of the front and the side silhouette, we selected 4 basic body types out of combination.
