  • An external electrode fluorescent lamps (EEFLs) have the advantage of a long lifetime in the early stages of the study on plasma discharge, interest in the lamp continues. Studies on the operation of external electrode fluorescent lamps have focused mainly on its use of a type of high frequency (MHz). By performing high brightness using a square wave operation method with the low frequency below 100kHz, which is applied to a narrowed tube type lamp that has several mm of lamp diameter, an EEFL presented the possibility of using it as a light source for backlights. However, because an EEFL generates plasma using wall charges, which considers the impedance characteristics of glass based on the structural principle in discharge, it can be significantly affected by frequency. Thus, this study verifies the change in the characteristics of electromagnetic fields according to the change in frequency through a Maxwell's electromagnetic field simulation and examines the relationship between the change in the EEFL frequency and brightness by measuring the optical characteristics. In addition, the characteristics of the transformation of energy orbits were verified by investigating the characteristics of the wavelength according to the change in frequency through the OES.

  • The recent TFT-LCD Trend that is done large size gradually. As size of monitor great, though problem happens, it is that consumer's request which it makes monitor combined TV function. Monitor and TV are no difference externally greatly, but define difference happens as for backlight. 루프-스타(Loop-Star) 기저 함수와 전제 조건(Preconditioner)을 이용한 모멘트법의 계산 효율 향상에 대한 연구 (A Study for Improving Computational Efficiency in Method of Moments with Loop-Star Basis Functions and Preconditioner)

  • 본 논문에서는 전계 적분 방정식 (Electric Field Integral Equation: EFIE)을 사용하는 모멘트 법의 저주파 오차(low frequency breakdown) 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 루프-스타(loop-star) 기저 함수를 사용하였다. 또한, 모멘트 법의 해를 계산하기 위하여 conjugate gradient method(CGM)과 같은 반복법을 적용할 경우 반복 횟수를 줄이기 위한 기법으로 p-Type Multiplicative Schwarz preconditioner(pMUS)를 이용하였다. 헬름홀쯔 정리(Helmholtz theorem)에 기반한 루프-스타(loop-star) 기저 함수와 주파수 정규화 기법을 이용하여 전계 적분 방정식에서 Rao-Wilton-Glisson(RWG) 기저 함수를 사용하였을 때 발생하는 저주파 오차(low frequency instability) 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 하지만, RWG 기저 함수를 비발산(solenoidal) 성분과 비회전성(irroatational) 성분으로 분해함으로써 발생하는 행렬 방정식의 높은 조건 수(condition number)로 인하여 CGM과 같은 반복법을 사용할 경우 해를 계산하기 위하여 많은 반복 횟수가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방안으로 pMUS 전제 조건 기법을 이용하여 CGM의 반복 횟수를 줄였다. 수치 해석 결과, pMUS와 같은 희소성(sparsity)을 가진 블럭 대각 전제 조건(Block Diagonal Precondtioner: BDP)과 비교하였을 때 pMUS는 BDP보다 빠르게 해를 계산할 수 있다.

  • Electricity meters using in Korea are about 1.8 million units. From among these, electronic meters for high voltage, about 170 thousand units were installed to the digital type meter and ones for low voltage installed hundreds of thou-sands of meters through a model project. Recently, low voltage meter are expected to complete the installation within several years. Domestic power metering technology is being beyond a simple framework with an electronic type and is rapidly evolving to intelligent smart metering systems in conjunction with promotion of a national smart grid project. Accordingly, it is important to ensure an immunity of meter for electromagnetic field and environmental noise at the installation site. In this paper, we are going to check the validity of international standard that focusing on RF electromagnetic field immunity of meter to secure the quality and improve the reliability in field operation of meter. And we will verify the validity of test specification focused on actual installation environment and are going to offer the improvement plan of test standard.

FDTD 방법을 이용한 3T MRI용 RF 코일의 해석

  • 본 논문은 MRI용 RF 코일로 널리 사용되고 있는 Birdcage type의 RF 코일을 FDTD 방법을 이용해서 해석, 설계하였다. 기존의 저자장(1T, 1.5T) MRI용 RF 코일의 해석 방법은 코일의 공진 주파수를 얻기 위해서 LC 등가 회로를 사용하였으며 코일 내부의 필드 분포를 얻기 위하여 Biot-Savart 법칙을 이용한 방법이 널리 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 3T이상의 고주파에서 동작하는 RF 코일의 해석에는 위의 방법이 커다란 오차를 일으킬 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 고주파 해석이 가능한 전파 (Full Wave) 해석 방법인 FDTD 방법을 이용하여 3T MRI용 RF 코일을 해석하고 설계하였다. 또한 FDTD 방법을 이용하여 본 논문에서 실제 제작된 Birdcage type과 Spiral type RF 코일에 적용하여 이 방법의 타당성을 실험적으로 검증하였으며 Spiral type의 RF 코일이 B1 field 균일도면에서 Highpass Birdcage type보다 우수함을 수치 해석적으로 검증하였다.

Resonance Frequency and Bandwidth of the Negative/Positive nth Mode of a Composite Right-/Left-Handed Transmission Line

  • In this study, the analytic expression for the positive/negative $n^{th}-Mode$ resonance frequency of an N unit cell composite right-/lefthanded (CRLH) transmission line is derived. To explain the resonance mechanism of the $n^{th}$ mode, especially for the negative mode, the current distribution of the N unit cell CRLH transmission line is investigated with a circuit simulation. Results show that both positive and negative $n^{th}$ resonance modes have n times current variations, but their phase difference is $180^{\circ}$ as expected. Moreover, the positive $n^{th}$ resonance occurs at a high frequency, whereas the negative $n^{th}$ resonance transpires at a low frequency, thus indicating that the negative resonance mode can be utilized for a small resonator. The correlation between the slope of the dispersion curve and the bandwidth is also observed. In sum, the balanced condition of the CRLH transmission line provides a broader bandwidth than the unbalanced condition.

  • In this paper, an energy harvester is developed that has advantages regarding piezoelectric noise minimization, mass production, and an easily available environmental energy source, electromagnetic induction, as well as low-frequency bandwidth and high amplitude. A process for fabricating a three-dimensional multilayered planar coil using micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) on a flexible printed circuit board FPCB is introduced. Optimal shape and size were calculated via internal resistance and inductance, and a prototype was fabricated through the MEMS procedure while considering the possibility of mass production. Although the internal resistance matched the designed value, the electromotive force generated did not reach the intended amount. The main reason for the decrease in efficiency was the low area of coil outskirt exposed to the magnetic field while there was relative motion between the magnet and the coil.

  • 극저주파 전자기장의 노출과 여러 암 발생과의 연관성을 구명하기 위해 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있으나 아직도 결론을 내리기에는 논란이 있다. 본 연구에서는 극저주파 전자가장이 소핵, 이수성 및 염색제 재배열과 같은 염색체 손상을 유도하는지 여부와 bleomycin (BLM) 에 악해 유발된 염색체 손상 빈도를 증진시키는지 확인하기 위해 사람 섬유아세포에 BLM과 0.8mT 세기의 극저주파 전자가장을 노출시킨 후 micronucleus - centromere 분석을 수행하였다. BLM의 농도에 따라 소핵, 이수성 및 염색체 재배열의 빈도가 유의하게 증가하 였으며(p<0.05), 0.8 mT 세기의 극저주파 전자기장은 단독으로 사람 섬유아세포에 염색체 손상을 유도하지 않았으나, BLM에 의해 유발된 소핵과 이수성의 빈도를 유의하게 증가시켰다(p<0.05). 따라서 극저주파 전자기장은 단독으로 사람 섬유아세포에 유전독성을 일으키지 않으나 BLM에 의한 소핵과 이수성 빈도를 증폭하는 효과를 나타낸다.

  • To leading subway technology Advanced Urban Transit System is developed by national research and development. Next-generation trains equipped with direct driving permanent magnet traction motor and individually controlled propulsion system. Electromagnetic properties of the Next-Generation Train from four perspectives will be discussed. The first is closely related to human hazards that affect the 60Hz low frequency electromagnetic field. The Second is inductive noise that affect railroad signal system. The third is conductive noise that affect communication line near railroad. The 4th is radiation noise that may affect electronic equipment near the railroad tracks.

  • As the technologies such as middle-range resonant WPT (wireless power transfer) advance that utilizes medium and low-frequency magnetic field, the importance of safety of such magnetic field is growing. The research on the effect of electromagnetic field on the human body has been mainly done on the GHz range of mobile phones, or 50~60Hz range of electric power systems. However, there has been relatively few works on the 100kHz~10MHz range used in the resonant wireless power transfer. Since there is a difference in the limiting value of magnetic field between widely used ICNIRP EMF guideline and IEEE C95.1 standard, there can be possible confusion when establishing EMF (Electromagnetic Field) standard on the wireless power transfer device in the future. In this paper, the induced current in the human body, which is the basic restriction of the EMF guideline, is calculated using Quasi-static FDTD method when 3D high-resolution human model is exposed to the 100kHz~10MHz magnetic field. Using this result, the feasibility of the magnetic field reference level in the ICNIRP guideline is analyzed.
