SQUID 센서 기반의 극저자장 자기공명 장치를 위한 사전자화코일 전류구동장치 개발 (Development of Prepolarization Coil Current Driver in SQUID Sensor-based Ultra Low-field Magnetic Resonance Apparatuses)

  • SQUID sensor-based ultra low-field magnetic resonance apparatus with ${\mu}T$-level measurement field requires a strong prepolarization magnetic field ($B_p$) to magnetize its sample and obtain magnetic resonance signal with a high signal-to-noise ratio. This $B_p$ needs to be ramped down very quickly so that it does not interfere with signal acquisition which must take place before the sample magnetization relaxes off. A MOSFET switch-based $B_p$ coil driver has current ramp-down time ($t_{rd}$) that increases with $B_p$ current, which makes it unsuitable for driving high-field $B_p$ coil made of superconducting material. An energy cycling-type current driver has been developed for such a coil. This driver contains a storage capacitor inside a switch in IGBT-diode bridge configuration, which can manipulate how the capacitor is connected between the $B_p$ coil and its current source. The implemented circuit with 1.2 kV-tolerant devices was capable of driving 32 A current into a thick copper-wire solenoid $B_p$ coil with a 182 mm inner diameter, 0.23 H inductance, and 5.4 mT/A magnetic field-to-current ratio. The measured trd was 7.6 ms with a 160 ${\mu}F$ storage capacitor. trd was dependent only on the inductance of the coil and the capacitance of the driver capacitor. This driver is scalable to significantly higher current of superconducting $B_p$ coils without the $t_{rd}$ becoming unacceptably long with higher $B_p$ current.

  • 자기장 측정기 교정 및 자기관련 시험 등에 사용되는 직류 및 교류 자기장 표준시스템을 제작하였다. 자기장 1 mT범위에서, 직류의 경우 확장불확도(expanded uncertainty, 2$\sigma$)는 8${\times}$$10^{-6}$, 교류의 경우, 주파수에 따른 확장불확도는 0.1~1 kHz 범위에서 0.16%, 1~5kHz에서 0.26%, 5~20kHz에서 0.44%이었다. 또한 국가측정표준에 대한 동등성과 수행한 교정 및 측정에 대한 국가간 상호인정을 받기 위하여 이 분야의 핵심측정표준 국제비교(international key comparison)에 참여하였다. 선진국과 대등한 결과를 얻었으며, 자기장 분야의 측정능력이 세계적 수준임을 확인하는 계기가 되었다.

The Effect of Solution Treatment on Intergranular Corrosion Resistance of a New Type Ultra Low Carbon Stainless Steel

  • In the paper, with corrosion velocity measurement and metallographic observation on specimens after sulfuric acid/ferric sulfate boiling experiment, intergranular corrosion tendency of the new type ultra low carbon stainless steel developed by ourselves which experienced solution treatment at different temperatures was evaluated. A VHX 500 super depth field tridimensional microscope was used to observe corrosion patterns on the sample surfaces. The depth and width of grain boundary corrosion groove were measured by the tridimensional microscope, which indicated that the corrosion degrees of the samples which received solution treatment at different temperatures are quite different. Transgranular corrosion at different degree occurred along with forged glide lines. After comparison it was proved that the stainless steel treated at $1100^{\circ}C$ performs very well against intergranular corrosion.

  • This study investigated on details of flow characteristics in a vaneless diffuser of a compressor with 2-dimensional impeller at various flow rates. Experiment for a low speed compressor model in a water reservoir was performed to analyze the flow field in the vaneless diffuser and volute casing, which was done by PIV measurement. It was also focused on the periodic flow patterns occurring at low flow rate near unstable operating region of the compressor. At low flow rate condition, the flow visualization clearly shows that the flow energy from impeller is highly accumulated at the compressor exit by the blockage effect of a flow damper and consequently the reverse flow occurs in the diffuser.

Calibration-free real-time organic film thickness monitoring technique by reflected X-Ray fluorescence and compton scattering measurement

  • Most thickness measurement techniques using X-ray radiation are unsuitable in field processes involving fast-moving organic films. Herein, we propose a Compton scattering X-ray radiation method, which probes the light elements in organic materials, and a new simple, non-destructive, and non-contact calibration-free real-time film thickness measurement technique by setting up a bench-top X-ray thickness measurement system simulating a field process dealing with thin flexible organic films. The use of X-ray fluorescence and Compton scattering X-ray radiation reflectance signals from films in close contact with a roller produced accurate thickness measurements. In a high-thickness range, the contribution of X-ray fluorescence is negligible, whereas that of Compton scattering is negligible in a low-thickness range. X-ray fluorescence and Compton scattering show good correlations with the organic film thickness (R2 = 0.997 and 0.999 for X-ray fluorescence and Compton scattering, respectively, in the thickness range 0-0.5 mm). Although the sensitivity of X-ray fluorescence is approximately 4.6 times higher than that of Compton scattering, Compton scattering signals are useful for thick films (e.g., thicker than ca. 1-5 mm under our present experiment conditions). Thus, successful calibration-free thickness monitoring is possible for fast-moving films, as demonstrated in our experiments.

도심지 발파공사장의 발파진동 특성 (The Characteristics of Blasting Vibration in the Construction of Apartment and Buildings in Urban Area)

  • In order to evaluate the effect of blasting vibration in buildings and it's resident located around blasting construction field in urban area, blasting vibration characteristics were measured the vibration level, vibration velocity. The 250g and 750g of charged powder were used at the apartment and at the ground, respectively. In the measurement of the ground, Z(perpendicularity) axis was the highest value in vibration level, but vertical axis was the highest value at 25m point and longitudinal axis was the highest value at 50m point in vibration velocity. The amount of measurement was high value when measuring point is higher than blasting source, while that of measurement was low value when measuring point is lower than blasting source. In the measurement of the apartment, 2 axis was the highest value in vibration level, but in vibration velocity transverse axis was the highest value at ground, was vertical axis at 1st floor, was longitudinal axis at 3rd floor and was vertical and longitudinal axis at 5th floor. The vibration level and the vibration velocity of 50m point showed higher correlation value than 25m point at the ground, but those of 25m point showed higher correlation value than 50m point at the apartment.

광삼각법 측정 원리를 이용한 금석문 가독성 향상 방법 (A Technique to Improve the Readability of Ancient Inscription by Using Optical Triangulation Measurement Principle)

  • In epigraph field to study ancient scripts, alternative readability improvement technologies have been developed to replace existing rubbing method which has low resolution and causes surface pollution of heritages from the viewpoints of extraction process and used materials. Recently many methods which are based on analysis of pixel data for extracting outlines of the specific image have been developed with advancement of image processing techniques. But these methods are not applicable and the results are not satisfied in the damaged inscriptions which are weathered by wind and rain for a long time and in the narrowed one. In this paper laser scanning techniques which uses optical triangulation measurement principle are developed to minimize scanning error. The proposed techniques are consisted of 3 parts:(1) the understanding of optical triangulation measurement principle to find scanning guideline (2) determinations of points interval, scanning distance and scanning angle to guarantee scanning data quality (3) identification of valid point data area which will be used in registration process. The proposed character identification method contributed in decoding an ancient inscription on SeukBingGo in Kyungju.

  • As modern electronic devices get smaller and smaller, high-resolution, large Field-Of-View (FOV), fast, and cost-effective 3-dimensional (3-D) measurement is requested more and more. In particular, defect inspection machines using machine-vision technology nowadays require 3-D inspection as well as the conventional 2-D inspection. Phase Measuring Profilometry (PMP) is one of the fast non-contact 3-D shape measuring methods currently being extensively investigated in the electronic component manufacturing industry. The PMP system is well known and is successfully applied to measuring complex surface profiles with varying reflectance properties. However, for highly reflective surfaces, such as Ball Grid Arrays (BGAs), it has difficulty accurately measuring 3-D shapes. In this paper, we propose a new fast optical system that can eliminate the highly reflective saturated regions in BGA ball images. This is achieved by utilizing four Low Intensity Grating (LIG) images together with the conventional High Intensity Grating (HIG) images. Extensive experiments using BGA samples show a repeatability of under ${\pm}20um$ in standard deviation, which is suitable for most 3-D shape measurements of BGAs.

아질산성질소 축정용 FIA의 제작 및 용용에 관한 연구 (광주광역시 광주천 시료를 대상으로) (A Study on the Constitution and the Application of FIA System for Measurement of Nitrite (The Field Water Samples at Kwangju))

  • In this study, home-made detection system by means of noble FIA is introduced on the measurement of toxic nitrite in the water samples collected from the area of Kwangju. As the standard calibration between 30 to 1000 ppb, the linearity has been shown more than 0.9999 as the correlation coefficient($R^2$) with the detection limit 1.5 ppb(S/N>2). The distribution of sample concentration was monitored as N.D. - 123 ppb which is wide span of concentrations in field water samples. The low level of nitrite is hardly detectable with other expensive sophisticated instruments including ion chromatography. Whereas the result of high concentration brings forth the necessity monitoring constantly our precious water resources. Successfully, the FIA system has played a very important role detecting wide span of nitrite in water sample. This technique can be adopted for controlling our environment in the near future.
