The purpose of this study were to investigate adolescents’level of stress, and coping behavior of stress as related to socio-demographic variables. The subjects were 270 first-grade middle school students and 258 first-grade high school students in Ansan. The data were analyzed by S.A.S. Program Package, the statistical methods of Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard deviation, T-test, One-way Anova, DMR(Duncan’s Multiple Range Test) The results of this study were as followed:1) The general tendency of adolescents’level of stress, and coping behavior of stress were that high school students experienced more stress than middle school students and both experienced more stress in school life than in family life. 2) According to personal variable, there were differences in the grade and scholarly attainment in the low-level stress group. According to parents variables, the level of stress differed significantly according to mother’s school career and father’s occupation in the low-level-stress group. There was significant difference in accordance with mother’s occupation in the high-level-stress group. 3) The coping behavior of stress according to adolescent variables differed significantly according to grades, the monthly income of the household, mother’s level of education and the father’s occupation.
Two (second-grade) classes of Yu-song middle school were chosen to research the effect of the visualization in the learning of probability calculation at a middle school. One class, as an experiment class, was taught the probability calculation of probability unit by the visualization learning and the other, as a controlled class, was taught it by the traditional lecture, and then through the writing tests there was a verification on the effect of right after test and the delaying test after 3 weeks to examine the learning effect of high- and low-level groups. It was difficult for the students to visualize the problems of the probability calculation, but I suggested simple models to the students and helped them to learn meaningfully. As a result of this study, there showed statistically significant difference in high-level group in the right after test.(P< .05) In the delaying test after 3 weeks, there also showed statistically significant marks only in high-level group.(P< .05) The visualization in the learning of probability calculation took more affirmative effect in the experiment class than the comparative class only in high-level group. The students in low-level group has difficulties in the visualization activities, but all the students in high-and low-level group thought the visualization was a great help to them in learning probability calculation.
The Purpose of this study were to identify school uniform satiafaction factors and to compare Parents. teachers. and students' middle and high school uniform satisfaction. Respondents were middle and high school parents. teachers. and students in Chonbuk province and data was collected during March, 2002. Frequencies. percentages. and mean were calculated. ANOVA. Chi-square test. reliability test were done. The results were as follows : 1. The school uniform satisfaction was composed of 5 factors of symbolism. design. management and comfort. durability and economy. and fitness. The satisfaction level of symbolism was the highest. and the management and comfort was the lowest. 2. The school uniform satisfaction level was relatively low. Teacher's school uniform satisfaction level was the highest. and students' satisfaction level was the lowest. The parents' satisfaction level of management and comfort. durability and economy. and fitness were the highest. and the teachers' satisfaction level of symbolism and design were the highest. 3. The parents and teachers' satisfaction level of symbolism and students' satisfaction level of school uniform design were higher under the strict school regulation on school uniform. Parents. teachers and students who agreed to the school uniform Policy showed higher school uniform satisfaction.
Purpose: The self-assessment ability of students is important in acquiring clinical skills. The study explored the self-assessment behavior of nursing students after OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination). Methods: The participants were 90 nursing students. They assessed their performance just after an OSCE (assessment 1). They were given OSCE checklists and re-assessed their performance level (assessment 2). Assessments 1, 2, and an assessment by professor were compared and analyzed. Results: Students assessed themselves higher than professor. But, when students were divided into three groups according to score level, different behaviors were evident between the groups. The high-score group assessed themselves lower than the professor, while the mid-and low-score groups assessed themselves higher than the professor. Students' self-assessment more closely approximated the professor's assessment when they were given checklists. The correlation between assessments 1 and 2 was stronger in high-score group and weak in low-score group. Conclusion: The study results indicate that students tend to assess their skills higher than the professor, but their scores were more in line with the professor when they were provided with checklists, and students' self-assessment behavior differed in the different score groups, suggesting a need for customized feedback and a concern for students with low scores.
This study was undertaken to explain weight control behavior and intention of obese children and adolescents as measured by the elements of the health belief model. A total of 732 obese students from 28 schools in Seoul metropolitan area and their mothers were assessed with a self-administered questionnaire. The analyzed results are as follows; 1. Among obese students, 45.3% of male students and 57.2% of female students, a significantly higher portion than male students, reported that they had tried to lose weight within the recent year. Exercise was the most frequently used method to lose weight followed by diet control, drug use, and specialized clinic visits, in descending order. 2. Male students were more likely to try to lose weight if they perceived a low threat level and their mother had a job, and female students were more likely to try to lose weight if they were younger in age, perceived a low threat level and had strong external motivating factors. 3. Female students showed a significantly higher level of intention to obesity control than male students, and the intention level of their mothers also showed the same trend. 4. In male students, the degree of weight dissatisfaction, weight control experience, the level of obesity related beliefs of students, the educational level of the mother and economic status of the family were significant predictors of intention to obesity control, and in females, age, the level of obesity related beliefs of students and intention of their mothers were significant. In the mothers of male students, obesity index of students, age of the mother and the level of obesity related beliefs of the mother were significant predictors of intention of the mother, and in the mothers of female students, obesity index of students, occupational status of the mother and obesity related beliefs of the mother were significant. 5. According to the path model of intention to obesity control, the degree of weight dissatisfaction had the most powerful effect in male students, and perceived net benefit level was the most important variable in female students. Since the weight control behavior and intention of obese students were more predictable by the degree of weight dissatisfaction than the obesity index, we can conclude that only the students dissatisfied with their weight are well motivated for obesity control. There can be a discrepancy between the mother and her child's beliefs and intention status(especially in male students), so the therapists should also assess the student's opinion as well as the mother's. In female students, the perceived net benefit level wag the most important predictor of intention to obesity control, therefore the intervention program should pay particular attention to the positive benefits of weight control rather than negative aspects(threats) of obesity.
Eating breakfast provides crucial nutrition for brain function and helps promote overall health. It is especially critical in growing adolescents, as it is known to form good eating habits and better study habits. This study investigated the effects of skipping breakfast on nutritional state, fatigue level, and attention level. A cross-sectional study was conducted in 2010 on total of 828 adolescents composed of 414 boys and 414 girls. Students who ate breakfast never to twice per week were placed in the breakfast-skipper group while students who ate breakfast more than five times per week were included in the breakfast-eater group. Students performed a self-reported questionnaire on food behaviors, amount of food consumption, fatigue level, attention deficient hyperactivity disease (ADHD) level by Conners-Wells' Adolescent Self-Report Scales, depression scale, and self-esteem level. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SAS program (version 9.1). A total of 135 boys (32.6%) and 138 girls (33.3%) were included in the breakfast-skipper group, whereas 241 boys (58.2%) and 223 girls (53.9%) were included in the breakfast-eater group. The breakfast-skipper group showed irregular food behaviors and lacked nutrients. Specifically, energy (p< .001), protein (p< .001), dietary fiber (p< .001), calcium (p< .01), vitamin A (p< .01), thiamin (p< .05), niacin (p< .001) levels in boy breakfast-skippers were statistically lower compared to boy breakfast-eaters. Intakes of all nutrients except fat in girl breakfast-skippers were statistically lower than in girl breakfast-eaters. Girl breakfast-skippers (41.3%) showed significantly higher fatigue risks compared to girl breakfast-eaters (21.5%). Low attention level was also observed only in girls in the breakfast-skipping group. Moreover, students in the breakfast-skipper group showed higher scores for depression and low self-esteem (p< .001). In conclusion, skipping breakfast has effects on young adolescents' nutrition, manifesting as high fatigue level and low attention level, especially in girls.
As students have been familiar to Internet or media which has big visual effects rather than letters, they preferred the class in computer lab to theoretical class. The class in computer lab showed all the students good reactions in concern and interest. Statistics achievements of high level students in 2008 became better than that in 2007 but those of low level students became worse than that in 2007. I analyze the reason why the achievements of low level students have become worse. The purpose of this study is to supplement of the trouble of the class in computer lab and find out a better teaching and develop mathematics education's satisfaction and qualification.
협동적인 소집단 문제 해결 과정을 녹화/녹음하여 작성한 프로토콜에 대하여 언어적 행동의 빈도를 분석하고, 학생들의 사전 성취 수준에 따라 비교하였다. 각각의 소집단에서 학생들의 사전 성취 수준에 따라 언어적 상호작용에 대한 참여율도 조사하였다. 상위 수준 학생들은 중${\cdot}$하위 수준에 비해 '정보 주기' 범주에 속하는 행동들을 많이 나타내었고, '제공', '제공 반복', '정당화'에서의 차이가 통계적으로 유의미하였다. '정보 받기'나 '질문하기' 범주에서는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타내는 행동이 없었다. 12개 소집단 가운데 모든 수준의 학생들이 언어적 상호작용에 균형 있게 참여한 경우는 3개조에 불과했고, 중위 수준 학생들의 참여율이저조한 경우가 많았다.
This study was intended to look into the actual status of using their own traditional clothes, by Korean and Japanese female college students, and to compare the differences of their perceptions about the traditional clothes of their own and the other countries, and thus to present the ways beneficial for Korean female college students to establish their positive recognition toward traditional clothes. For the study, the questionnaire method was used, by which a total of 375 sheets was collected; Frequency analysis and t-test were conducted with a SPSS 12.0 statistic program. The findings were as follows; Korean female college students, in comparison with their Japanese counterparts, owned less traditional clothes suitable and wearable for their body, and so they had a less number of wearing and renting experiences. In addition, they indicated a low level of realization about the suitability of traditional clothes to the wearers in their 10's, 20's and 30's. While they thought highly of their traditional clothes in the item of 'pride,' they had a low level of recognition in the item of 'knowledge,' and they considered the traditional clothes to be inconvenient. Korean college students revealed a lower level of favorable interest in the other country, but they had a higher level of evaluation for the items of 'design applicability' and 'popularity' than the Japanese college students did.
Objectives: This study was carried out to measure knowledge, attitude, and practice and related factors of low-salt diet among university students. Methods: Data from a convenience sample of 251 nursing and engineering students of two universities in south-western part of Korea were collected during March 16~20, 2015 using a self-reporting questionaire and urine test. The instruments developed by Lee and Song(1999) were used to measure knowledge and practice, and Ahn(2013) for attitude toward low-salt diet. A spot urine salt stick($SaltSinal^{(R)}$) was also used to evaluate practice of low-salt diet. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0, and t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and Scheffe test were used. The study was IRB approved. Results: Knowledge, attitude, and practice of low-salt diet was low and spot urine salt level was high among university students. Knowledge and attitude were higher and spot urine salt level was lower among nursing students. Knowledge and attitude were related to gender and drinking. Living arrangement, monthly allowance, smoking, frequency of eating-out, frequency of breakfast were shown not to be related to knowledge and attitude. None of the variable investigated were significantly related to practice of low-salt diet. However, spot urine salt was related with gender, living arrangement, and smoking. Conclusions: A rigorous health education is necessary in order to lower dietary salt among university students. Considering frequent eating-out among university students, it is also very important to lower salt amount in foods sold on- and off-campus.
