The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between shopping value and clothing shopping orientation according to clothing involvement. The study subjdects comprised 298 females living in Seoul. The data were analyzed with factor analysis, correlation, t-test, cluster analysis and regression analysis. Clothing involvement, shopping value and clothing shopping orientation consisted of various factors. Clothing involvement influenced various shopping values and orientations. According to three clothing involvement factors, women were classified into two clusters(: high and low involvement groups). In the two groups, there was an intimate relationship between shopping value and shopping orientation, while there were significant differences in shopping value, clothing shopping orientation, and clothing purchasing behavior. In addition, shopping value have influenced shopping orientations and clothing purchasing behavior, while shopping orientations influenced clothing purchasing behavior. As a result, the successful marketer should know the consumer's clothing involvement and shopping value as well as clothing shopping orientation.
This study investigated the effects of young children's learning-related skills and the maternal involvement on academic abilities. The sample consisted of 310 children from 7 child-care centers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. All variables were measured by the teachers and the mothers of surveyed children. The instrument included the Korean Child Development Inventory(K-CDI) for 4 to 6-year olds and Preschool Learning Behavior Scale(McDermott et al 2000) and the questionnaire on mother's involvement about their children's education. The collected data was analyzed by t-test and hierarchical regression using the SPSS Program. The findings are as follows. First, regardless of the family income level, verbal comprehension and numerical abilities were positively associated with their learning-related skills of young children. Second, the interaction effect of learning-related skills and the mothers' involvement on verbal comprehension of young children in the low-income families was observed. However, no interaction effect was seen in terms of learning-related skills and the maternal involvement on verbal comprehension and numerical abilities of young children in the high-income families. These findings highlight the importance of learning-related skills and their mothers' involvement during the preschool period for the low-income family in improving the early academic achievement.
This study examines female new seniors' clothing consumption behaviors, such as their information sources, clothing store selection criteria, and perceived importance of sales associates' attributes, based on their level of clothing involvement. A face-to-face survey was conducted through a market research firm. The subjects of this study were female adults in their 50s and 60s residing in the Seoul metro area (N=197). Significant differences were found in the clothing consuming behaviors of new seniors depending on their clothing involvement(CI). High-CI new seniors tended to place more importance on both personal and non-personal information sources than low-CI new seniors. High-CI new seniors place importance both "merchandise assortment and store atmosphere" and "sales associates and service" when they select stores for clothing than low-CI new seniors. In terms of sales associates' attributes, high-CI new seniors tend to place more importance on customer-orientation than medium- and low-CI groups. Medium- and high-CI new seniors tend to place more importance on appearance than low-CI groups. However, there were no significant statistical differences for professional expertise among the three different CI groups.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationships among selection attributes, satisfaction, and loyalty of green tea consumers, including their moderating effect of involvement. Questionnaires were administered to residents of Seoul and Gyeonggi-do province, who were 20 years old and older and who had purchased green tea. A total of 700 questionnaires were distributed, and 658 were finally used in the analysis. SPSS 15.0 and LISREL 8.80 were used for the analysis. Selection attributes had a significant effect on satisfaction, and statistical significance was observed with regard to factors such as marketing, production, sensory evaluation, and brand. No significant direct effect was observed between selection attributes and loyalty. Additionally, satisfaction had a significant effect on loyalty. The marketing factor had a negative effect on satisfaction in both the low- and high-involvement groups. The brand factor had a positive effect on satisfaction in the low involvement group, suggesting that developing and promoting a popular brand is essential. Sensory and utility factors had a positive effect on satisfaction in the high involvement group.

The purpose of this study was to establish the strategy for Internet fashion homepage advertising that attracts consumers attention and discloses clothing brand to consumers continually. In this paper, the following subjects were set up: (a) to classify the structure and evaluation factors of the fashion homepage advertising, (b) to analyze the effect of demographic variables and clothing involvement of consumer on fashion homepage advertising structures and evaluation factors. A random sample of 553 people in the age group 16-34s living in Seoul and Kyungki region during March 2000 was selected from Internet users. SPSS package was used for data analysis. Frequency, Percentage, Factor analysis, ANOVA, Duncan test and regression analysis were applied. The results of this research were as follows: First, in the process of classifying the dimension of the fashion homepage advertising, homepage advertising structure was composed of 5 factors: interactive, amusing factor, professional information, fashion information and useful information. And homepage advertising evaluating factors were interesting, information and irritation. Second, it was found that clothing involvement influenced fashion homepage advertising. High involvement group preferred the fashion information factor of the homepage advertising structure and low involvement group was useful information factor of the homepage advertising structure. Both high and low involvement groups preferred interesting factor of the homepage advertising evaluation. Third, demographic variables also influenced fashion homepage advertising Females manifested greater interests in informative factor of homepage advertising than males. Findings from this study provide an insight into fashion homepage advertising strategy related to consumers clothing behavior.

The purpose of this study were to clarify differences in information processing type in relation to the consumer knowledge and involvement of apparel and to clarify differences in demographic characteristics in relation to the information processing type of consumer. The subjects of this study were female adults who lived in Seoul, Kyunggi or Incheon areas and Quota sampling using age and residential areas was employed. This study aimed to examine the impact of virtual influencers' characteristics on purchase intentions through attitudes toward the influencer and the brand, and to identify which factors are important depending on involvement. We used a scenario-based online survey of 320 female consumers in their twenties and thirties, and analyzed their responses through structural equation modeling using AMOS 21.0. Virtual influencers' attractiveness, reliability, familiarity, and virtuality had significant effects on consumers' attitudes toward those influencers, while their attractiveness, familiarity, and virtuality had significant effects on consumers' brand attitudes. Notably, in contrast to the other variables, virtuality had a negative effect. In addition, consumers' attitudes toward the virtual influencer significantly affected their brand attitudes and purchase intentions. We also analyzed which characteristics had significant impacts on high- and low-involvement groups. We found that reliability had the greatest influence on purchase intentions in the high-involvement group and that familiarity had the greatest influence on purchase intentions in the low-involvement group, which confirmed that the variables affecting purchase intentions differ depending on the level of involvement.

Time-limited promotions have become a popular strategy across various product categories including fashion mobile platforms. While consumer feel content and satisfied when they get this , those who miss the opportunity may develop negative feelings and tend to give up on additional price discounts. This phenomenon, known as inaction inertia, has been a crucial subject of consumer behavior research. However, the underlying mechanism within the context of fashion consumption has yet to be discussed. This study investigated whether consumers show inaction inertia when purchasing fashion products and whether involvement moderates product purchases in inaction inertia situations. Hypotheses were tested through an online survey with 336 Korean participants based on fictitious purchase scenarios. In the results, the hypothesized negative influence of inaction inertia on purchase intention for fashion products was statistically confirmed. Furthermore, the hypothesized moderation effect of involvement in the mechanism was confirmed - only within the high (vs. low) age group. To explain, the negative effect of inaction inertia significantly decreases among older consumers of high (vs. low) involvement levels. We contributed to the related academic flow by performing an experimental study on inaction inertia, which had relatively little empirical research compared to the influence confirmed in practice so far. We also provided a novel idea by demonstrating that the moderating effect of product involvement differs depending on the age group.

The purpose of this study was to identity the relationship of clothing involvement, consumer characteristics, and clothing buying behavior of college female students in China. A questionnaire was developed to measure clothing involvement, materialism, conspicuous consumption, reference group influence, clothing purchasing modes, fashion information sources. The questionnaire was administered to 390 college female students in Dandong of china. The data were analyzed using percentage, frequency, factor analysis, and t-test. The results of the study were as follows: 1. Subjects were divided into low clothing involved and high clothing involved groups according to the level of clothing involvement. 2. Three dimensions of materialism were derived by factor analysis such as Happiness-pursuing, Life-centered, and Sucess-symbolic. And three dimensions of conspicuous consumption and reference group influence were derived by factor analysis such as luxury oriented, Status symbolic, Brand-name oriented, and Comparative, Informational, Normative exactly. Clothing purchasing motives and fashion information sources were factor analysed as Social and Individual mole, and Printed & Electric-wave media, Marketer managed, Personal exactly. 3. There were significant differences between high involved and low involved consumers in consumer characteristics and clothing purchasing behavior. The high involved consumers showed more importance than low involved consumers about materialism especially in Happiness-pursuing about conspicuous consumption in status symbolic and about influence of reference group in comparative. The high involved consumers put more importance than low involved consumer individual motive as clothing purchasing motive, and marketer managed in clothing fashion information. The high invoked consumers showed more importance than low invoked consumers about evaluating attributes of product, and about store patronage criterion.
Thus the purpose of this study is to determine how the brand equity is formed in the psychological process of customers by reviewing previous studies of relations between marketing factors influencing the formation and elements for the formation. Results of the study and their suggestions can be summarized as follows. First, among precedent factors required for the formation of the brand equity, advertisement was found having positive effects on both brand awareness and brand image irrespective of the two groups, or high and low involvement groups. Sales promotion did not have any effects on both brand awareness and brand image in the low involvement group while positively affecting brand awareness in the high involvement group. Distribution intensity was found having effects on both brand awareness and brand image in all of the two groups. Second, relations between brand awareness and brand image showed that the former has effects on the latter in both high and low involvement groups. This suggests that brand awareness plays a role in associating brand image. Third, relations among brand awareness, brand image and brand preference showed that both of the former twos influence the other in the high involvement group and that brand awareness cannot influence brand preference in the low involvement group. Fourth, relations between brand preference and brand loyalty showed that the former has effects on the former in both high and low involvement groups. This suggests that there is little possibility for consumers preferring specific brands to turn to other brands which have advantages such as price discount and gift presentation.
