This Paper proposes a new toplogy snubber circuit of Full-Bridge DC-DC Converter for reducing conduction losses and snubber circuit heating loss. Using Partial Resonent Soft Switching Method and Clamping, studying on a new snubber circuit for reducing losses that a snubber circuit heating loss in the secondly diode rectification side, a switching losses in the primary side of IGBT inverter and conduction losses in the high frequency insulation transformer. In this paper, we present FB DC-DC converter included a new lossless snubber circuit, and then be analyzed and simulated.

Bo-Back-N ARQ is widely used in packet networks for error and flow control methanisms. This paper analyzes the network throughput under the go-back-N schem. Contrast to other analytic methods which assume independent frame losses or the first order Markov frame analytic methods which assume independent frame losses or the first order Markov frame losses concoptually, the proposed method takes into account the correlation between successive frame losses in a congested node. Computer simulation shows that our method generates more accurate performance results that independent assumption method. We apply the proposed method to analyze the performance of BWM in high speed networs. Our results show that BWM maintains the independence between traffic streams.
An experiment was conducted to investigate the aerodynamic losses of high pressure steam turbine nozzle (526A) subjected to a large range of incident angles ($-34^{\circ}\;to\;26^{\circ}$) and exit Mach numbers (0.6 and 1.15). Measurements included downstream Pitot probe traverses, upstream total pressure, and end wall static pressures. Flow visualization techniques such as shadowgraph and color oil flow visualization were performed to complement the measured data. When the exit Mach number for nozzles increased from 0.9 to 1.1 the total pressure loss coefficient increased by a factor of 7 as compared to the total pressure losses measured at subsonic conditions ($M_2<0.9$). For the range of incidence tested, the effect of flow incidence on the total pressure losses is less pronounced. Based on the shadowgraphs taken during the experiment, it' s believed that the large increase in losses at transonic conditions is due to strong shock/ boundary layer interaction that may lead to flow separation on the blade suction surface.

The paper presents the estimation of power losses in distribution transformer of Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) distribution system at Muang district of Suphanburi province in Thailand. Data of 416 power distribution transformers composed of transformer (kVA), load current, no load loss and full load loss which were used for calculating energy losses. It was found that the total energy loss of all transformers is approximately 1,756,380 kWh/year.

In this study, the personal-computer program was developed to predict prestressing losses containment structures of Nuclear Power Plants by concrete creep and shrinkage. This program is constituted of three parts, which are pre-processor, calculation module and post-processor. Input data for his program are : material properties of concrete, rebar, liner and duct, test results of concrete creep and shrinkage, relative humidity, dimension of containment structures, and the number of prestressing tendon related on containment structures. To obtain better results, this program was made to reflect the prestressing losses due to influence that occurred after prestressing each tendon, thus it can predict prestressing losses and allowable prestressing forces of each tendon. As a case study, this program was applied to containment structures of Youngwang 3 & 4 NPP's and analytical result was compared with test results in In-service Inspection of containment structures. From this comparison, it was proved that this program could well predict prestressing losses by concrete creep and shrinkage.

The purpose of this paper is to obtain enthalpy balance and exergy analysis for the energy losses in a steam power plant. The enthalpy and exergy analysis of the steam power plant were carried out on the various output of steam turbine. While enthalpy analysis shows that circulating loss in the condenser is maximum, exergy evaluation of the power plant shows that the losses of the boiler and turbine are considerably larger than those of condenser and feed water heater. Most irreversible losses of the power plant occur at the boiler. For improving the performance, the precise study about the irreversible losses of the boiler is necessary.

Until now, the evaluation of prestressing force during the survice state has received limited attention. Only initial prestressing force is estimated by reading the pressure values of a hydraulic jack or by observing the initial elongation of tendons. In this study, the initial losses and time dependent losses of prestressing force have been monitored by installing 12 vibrating wire-type load cells at the part of P.C. box bridge of Gangbyun Riverside Highway. Also comparative study was made for measured prestressing losses and estimated values. 2-dimensional analysis was performed to see the trend of prestressing losses, and the results was compared with measured ones.

Superconducting power cable is one of the most promising energy application of high-T$_{c}$ superconductors (HTS). A prototype HTS cable have been constructed multi-layer cable using Bi-2223 tape and tested. The AC transport losses under self field were investigated at 77K on the 19 filamentary tape and multi-layer HTS cables. And we carried out numerical analysis using bean model. The result shows that the total transport current of HTS cable in L$N_2$ was 475[A], and transport current passed through almost the outer layer (2-layer). Also, AC transport losses in outer layer of HTS cable was proportion to I$^2$ and higher than losses of inner layer. In case of Ip=Ic, calculated numerical loss density was concentrated on the edge of tape and most of loss density in cable was distributed outer layer more than inner layer. As magnetic distribution was concentrated on outer layer.r.
This paper presents a new approach for power flow calculation, which minimizes the transmission losses in power systems with the control of voltage magnitudes on P-V nodes. In this approach, the transmission losses are re-distributed to each P-V node, at each iteration, to reduce the effect of slack. The steepest descent method is adopted, in this study, to minimize the transmission losses augmented with penalty functions to account for voltage constraints. IEEE 14 and 30 buses test systems were used for the performance demonstration of the proposed method in this paper. The simulation results showed that the proposed method can reduce transmission losses and improve voltage profiles of power systems.

Fuel consumption of a modern combustion engine is significantly influenced by the mechanical friction losses. The reduction of the engine friction losses offers a remarkable potential in emission and fuel consumption reduction. The analysis of the engine friction distribution of modern engines shows that the piston and the cylinder have a high share at total engine friction. The present study uses PISDYN(by Ricardo) software to analyze the friction losses. The design parameters such as skirt profile, center of mass of the piston are shown to have key influences on the friction losses.
