Building deterioration would be proceeded by various causes such as physical, social, economic degradation. The deterioration would be inevitably prevented or delayed to get the decent function and performance in various building part and components. The maintenance and management are continued to provide the decent living condition for the household. The maintenance means mainly a repair, including the on-time and longterm plan. The longterm repair would be conducted by the systemic preparation in management activity and a required cost. Therefore, the annual due for the longterm repair plan is important to prepare the repair cost in a required time. In this paper, it aimed at analyzing the longterm repair cost and modelling to forecast the required cost in total area, number of household and time elapse in apartment housing. The estimation model of a repair cost is used with a power function which has a good statistics. Results of this study are shown that the sample has a longterm repair due in a $2,032won/m^2{\cdot}yr$ averagely which is higher than $912won/m^2{\cdot}yr$ in domestic. Second, the longterm repair due is proportionally correlated with the time elapse in both a total area and the number of household. Third, the estimation model for the longterm repair amount is suitable for the power function which is most in any other estimation models. Fourth, the ration of the longterm plan repair due a year to the cumulated longterm amount is about 26%.

Thermal energy storage system used a storage tank is a reasonable method to solve energy problem. In thermal energy storage system, energy collected from many types of heat source is stored in a storage tank and then supply to load at the time is in demand. In this study, flow characteristics and storage efficiency were analysed by using a insulated raft in longterm hot water storage system. From the experiment it is found that insulated raft has a important role in longterm hot water storage system and storage efficiency can be obtained to 96% using inletport type and insulated raft together.

This study was carried out ont the longterm aged reinforced concrete housings for the prediction of life expectancy and the suggestion of fundamental informations on the durable concrete. In this paper, the durability of concrete is compared with carbonation depth, and the measutrments fo carbonation depth and properties have been made on the number of cores taken from structures. And finally, the relationships between carbonation rate and such properties as strength, absorption ratio, density were examined.

Introduction of new longterm care policy for elderly in Korea would change many aspects of elderly care service facilities. Especially elderly home care services like adult daycare centers will expand drastically after beginning of longterm care insurance. The purpose of this study is to estimate demand of adult daycare centers by comparing with the U.S and Japanese cases. Korean government is expecting that adult daycare centers will expand ten times within 4 years. This estimate is exceeding the facility demand estimate of the U.S. and Japan. The results of population study and expecting growth rate of adult daycare centers in Seoul indicate that more than 300 centers, 4 times of the number of existing centers, are in need based on Seoul elderly population in 2004. To supply these numbers of facilities in short period, more in depth study should be followed. Existing adult daycare facilities' in Seoul were analyzed by their building and management types. Interior spaces of adult daycare centers in Korea are similar to the U.S. and Japan in space arrangements but much smaller in size. In depth study of space programming as well as overall demand survey of adult daycare centers is urgently in need for more realistic expansion of adult daycare centers.

Oceanographic features around Korean waters related to the global change were studied by analysis of the longterm variation of water temperature, dissolved oxygen, sea level of the surface layer with 1$^{\circ}C$ temperature, spatial position of the subpolar front in the East Sea/Japan Sea (the East sea hereafter) and the Wolf Sunspot Number. With the global warming, the temperature of Korean waters has been increased 0.5∼1.0$^{\circ}C$ for 33years (1968∼2000). In case of the dissolved oxygen in the East Sea has been decreased 0.46$m\ell$/$\ell$. Year to year vertical fluctuations of the monthly anomalies of the surface layer with 1$^{\circ}C$water in the East Sea have predominant periods with 15years as the longterm variation of Arctic climate, 12 and 18years as the El Nino-Southern Oscillation. Spatial position of the subpolar front in the East Sea moved to northern part of the sea from the southern part of the sea with the increasing sea surface temperature. The relationship between the number of Wolf Sunspot and the anomalies of sea surface temperature was very closer after the late of 1980s than those before the early of 1980s in Korean waters.

Due to the shortage of elderly care services in urban areas, multi-functional welfare facilities are proven to be very effective for delivering various service needs of elderly in Japan. Introduction of new longterm care policy for elderly in Korea would change many aspects of elderly care service facilities. Especially elderly home care services like adult daycare centers will expand drastically after beginning of elderly longterm care insurance. The purpose of this research is to study and analyze multi-functional welfare facilities in Japan focusing on the types of day service in those facilities. Planning of daycare centers in multi-functional welfare facilities for the elderly can be classified to 8 types. Those types are daycare centers with senior housing, longterm care insurance facilities, senior centers, small multi-function facility, medical facilities, educational facilities, community facilities and general housing projects. Each type has different benefits for the networking of services for the elderly. Design of daycare centers in multi-functional welfare facilities have distinctive features in entrance and user approach, space allocation and circulation planning. The study of daycare centers and multi-function planning should be followed to make better home care environments for the elderly in Korea.

Maple syrup urine disease or branched chain ketoacidurias caused by a deficiency in activity of the branched-chain ${\alpha}$-keto acid dehydrogenase(BCKD) complex. This metabolic block results in the accumulation of the branched-chain amino acids(BCAAs) leucine, isoleucine and valine, and the corresponding branched chain ${\alpha}$-keto acids (BCKAs). Based on the clinical presentation and biochemical responses to thiamine administration, MSUD patients can be divided into five phenotypes : classic, intermediate, intermittent, thiamine responsive and dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase(E3)-deficient. Classic MSUD has a neonatal onset of encephalopathy, and is the most severe ad most common form. Variant forms of MSUD generally have the initial symptoms by 2 years of age. The majority of untreated classic patients die within the early months of life from recurrent metabolic crisis and neurologic deterioration. Treatment involves both longterm dietary management and aggressive intervention during acute metabolic decompensation. We report here our experience of longterm diet therapy and treatment of acute metabolic decompensation of a case of classic MSUD.

Exposed type waterproofing PVC sheets installed on structure rooftops are subject to changes in physical properties after longterm exposure to sunlight. Particularly when consideration the rotational movement of sunlight over the day through the course of the sun rising from the east and setting in the west, in the case of flat roofs the amount of UV ray the the surface of the PVC waterproofing sheet receives may be even throughout, but in cases of slanted rooftops the sunlight exposure may be uneven across the surface. In this regard, this study examines the effect uneven sunlight exposure on the exposed type waterproofing PVC sheets installed on slanted rooftops.
