Gilt bronze locks(Treasure No. 1141) excavated from Hancheonsa temple are artifacts of Goryeo Dynasty. The locks underwent a conservation process from October 2001 to July 2002. The process included cleaning and the application of corrosion inhibitors, Benzotriazolesolution, as well as reinforcement treatment with Paraloid NAD-10 solution,an acrylic resin. Non-destructive XRF analysis unveil that the artifacts are made of an alloy of copper(Cu), tin(Sn) and lead(Pb), but the gilt layer is too thin to analyze the purity of the gold or the exact production method. Gilt bronze locks are important materials because they preserve all the structures of locks in Goryeo Dynasty to the smallest detail. The surface pattern is revealed through the conservation process and components of the alloy through material analysis.

The purposes of this study are to investigate the stereotype of position and direction that users expect door lock control devices in different orientations, and to collect information regarding preferred door lock design and orientations. Six hundred subjects aged from lOs to 60s were surveyed under the operating conditions of three different door locks(cylindrical, circular-type, and lever-type auxiliary locks) mounted on the miniature door in two different orientations(right and left side). The door locks presented to the subjects were the most widely used door locks in our living environment. The results indicated that if the door locks were seen from the inside, 59~67% of the subjects expected 'vertical' position locking depending on the door lock control types, cylinder or auxiliary lock. When the door locks were seen from the outside, the locking direction of door lock control was not consistent either 'clockwise' or 'counterclockwise'. It was rather dependent on the orientation of the door lock positions. As a concluding remark, it is better to design and install door lock control devices in the way that users expect them to work.

In this paper a data replicator scheme with a distributed join architecture is suggested with its cost functions and the performance results. The contribution of this scheme is not only minimizing the number of base relation locks in distributed database tables but also reducing the remote transmission amount remarkably, which will be able to embellish the distributed databse system practical. The differential files that are derived from the active log of the DBMS are mainly forcing the scheme to reduce the number of base relation locks. The amount of transportation between relevant sites could be curtailed by the tuple reduction procedures. Then we prescribe an algorithm of data replicator with its cost function and show the performance results compared with the semi-join scheme in their distributed environments.
This paper introduces a testbed which is suitable for the study of security issues arising in applications involving internet appliances. The testbed implements secure door locks by utilizing the intranet in the building and is composed of two main parts, namely a database server and door locks each of which equipped with a custom-made embedded system. The main objective is to provide a platform for teaching the conflict among real-time specifications, security requirements, and limited-resource constraints. After definitions of threat, vulnerability, and attack are given, we discuss how the testbed can be applied as an education tool for these concepts. Finally, the effects of sequential and multitasking operations are given as a case study.
The purpose of this study was to identify and to trace the source of origins of 麻帝核試 that appears in Kei Rim Yu Sa(鷄林類事). Comparative liguistic analytical approaches ware employed for this study. Results of this study revealed that madi(마디) survives as a dialect for m ∂ri[머리(頭)] in Kyung Sang Province Thus, it si considered that the dialect madi(마디) is a survival of 마디(麻帝) of Koryo. Similar words to 核試 of Koryo were found in Hebrew and Japanese : Heb. k-u-tsi(zi) means locks of hair and Japanese ku-shi(くシ) has several meanings : comb, head, and the hair of the head. The word 麻帝核試 of Koryo is a compound ward of madi(麻帝), head and k ∂ shi(그시) 核試 locks of hair(hair of the head). 核試 of Koryo , Jao. ku shi(くシ), and Heb. k-u-tsi(zi) showed close relationships to one another. The word ku shi(si) 그시 核試 was derived from Heb. k-u-tsi(zi) and Jap. ku shi(くシ) was originated from 核試 of Koryo. Kor. ku shi(si) 그시 核試 is a transliteration of Heb. k-u-tsi(zi) and Jap. ku shi(くシ) is a trans-literation of Kor. ku shi 그시 核試.
For the phase measurement of radar signal in the coherent-on-receiver system, the COHO(Coherent Oscillator) generates the signal which locks to the phase of the transmit pulse. In this paper, COHO unit is developed to generate 60 MHz phase-locked signal. ILO(Injection Locking Oscilator) locks to the sample of the transmit pulse. Gate circuit, ILO, buffer amplifier, and pulse generator are designed and implemented.

Conventional locking device has a disadvantage such as a security vulnerability caused by using avoid traces of the keypad that are frequently used due to the complex password application. In this study, we proposed a OTP based locks by using user identical informations that overcomes the disadvantages of the conventional apparatus. We implemented and validated the proposed algorithm through simulations.

In this study, the effects of lock operations on the infiltration rates for the two window types sliding and lift sliding (LS) are investigated through experiment and simulation. The airtightness levels of the two window types-with locks both on and off-were measured according to the KS F 2292 Test method of airtightness that is used for windows and doors. The air-flow rates of both window types with the locks on for a pressure differential of 10 Pa are $1.98m^3/(m^2h)$ and $1.68m^3/(m^2h)$, respectively; with the locks off, the air-flow rates of the sliding and LS windows are $2.64m^3/(m^2h)$ and $5.83m^3/(m^2h)$, respectively, whereby the air-flow rates are 33% higher for sliding and 247% higher for LS. The air change per hour (ACH) was calculated using the ventilation-simulation software CONTAM. For the sliding window, the ACH changed from 0.45 to 0.57 when the lock was operated from on to off, representing an increase of 27%. For the LS window, the ACH changed from 0.29 to 0.81, showing an increase of 179%.

In the traditional percussion locks of small arms, a firing pin is struck by a hammer rotating on a single center of rotation, which makes the percussion mechanism simple and reliable. In order to strike the firing pin by the hammer, however, the firing pin should be located within the radius of rotation of the hammer. As the distance between the striking point of the firing pin and the center of rotation of the hammer becomes longer, the radius of rotation of the hammer should also be increased, which results in the increase of the volume and weight of the small arms because the hammer needs the more space for its operation inside of the small arms. In this paper, a link type percussion lock was newly proposed in order to overcome the limitation of designing small arms when using traditional percussion locks, as mentioned above. The link type percussion lock was modeled by using multi-body dynamics software and designed to satisfy the requirements such as striking force level of the hammer exerting on the firing pin enough to detonate the percussion cap of ammunitions and the safety on the accidental drop. It was applied to the newly developed dual-barrel weapon system, in which the weight and overall length are important design factors, and verified by durability test and drop test on the ground.
