The Design and Implementation of a Multi-Session Processing Between RMA and RCP within a Vehicle Tracking System (차량 추적 시스템에서 RMA와 RCP 사이의 다중세션 설계 및 구현)

  • A Vehicle Tracking System consists of GPS tracking device which fits into the vehicle and captures the GPS location information at regular intervals to a central GIS server, and GIS tracking server providing three major responsibilities: receiving data from the GPS tracking unit, securely storing it, and serving this information on demand of the user. GPS based tracking systems supporting a multi-session processing among RMA, RM, and RCP can make a quick response to various services including other vehicle information between RSU and OBU on demand of the user. In this paper we design RSU lower layers and RCP applications in OBU for a multisession processing simulation and test message processing transactions among RMA-RM and RM-RCP. Furthermore, we implement the additional functions of handling access commands simultaneously on multiple service resources which are appropriate for the experimental testing conditions. In order to make a multi-session processing test, it reads 30 resource data,0002/0001 ~ 0002/0030, in total and then occurs 30 session data transmissions simultaneously. We insert a sequence number field into a special header of dummy data as a corresponding response to check that the messages are received correctly. Thus, we find that GIS service system with a multi-session processing is able to provide additional 30 services in a same speed of screen presentation loading while identifying the number of session processing of Web GIS service, the number of OBU service, and the speed of screen presentation loading by comparing a single session and a multi-session of GIS service system.

Analysis of the Satisfaction with Computer Based Test Program and Test Environment in Medical School (의과대학의 컴퓨터기반시험 프로그램 및 시험환경 만족도 분석)

  • This study aimed to identify needed improvements to current evaluation methods in medical school computer-based test (CBT) programs and test environments. To that end, an analysis of the importance and satisfaction was conducted through a survey of 3rd and 4th year medical students who had sufficient experience with CBT programs. Importance performance analysis methodology using the correlation coefficient was applied to assess average satisfaction and importance. The first quadrant (keep up the good work) was a factor of review and time management and test facilities among the conveniences of the CBT program. The second quadrant (concentrate here) was a factor of the convenience of the CBT program and computer monitor and chair factor within the test facilities. The third quadrant (low priority) was a factor of cheating and computer failure. The fourth quadrant (possible overkill) was the location, spacing, and temperature factors of the test facilities. Improvements are needed to reduce 'eye fatigue' and help students focus and understand the questions in the CBT programs. It is necessary to improve computer monitors, desks and chairs, and consider the subject's body type and manager in order to cope with computer breakdown and peripheral failures. Spare computers are needed. These findings are meaningful in that they have been able to identify factors that require improvement in the CBT program and test environment resulting from changes in assessment tools.

Development of a Spatio-Temporal DSMS for the Real-time Management of Moving Objects Data Stream (이동체 데이터 스트림의 실시간 관리를 위한 시공간 DSMS의 개발)

  • Recently, according to the development of ubiquitous computing technology, the efficient management of locations of moving objects is increasing rapidly in various fields. However, MODBMS and DSMS can not support the efficient real-time management of spatio-temporal stream data of moving objects. Therefore, this paper designed and implemented a spatio-temporal DSMS which can support the efficient real-time management of spatio-temporal stream data of moving objects. Especially, to develop the spatio-temporal DSMS, we extended STREAM of Stanford University and used GEOS that supports spatial data types and spatial operators of OGC. Finally, this paper proved the efficiency of the spatio-temporal DSMS by applying it to the real-time monitoring field which requires the real-time management of spatio-temporal stream data of moving objects.

  • The increase of input resources, such as labor and equipment, in a construction project causes workspace interference between activities and it influences on the productivity and quality of construction activities. To solve this problem, many studies related to the workspace interference have been performed, however they verified the workspace concerning with only the geometric location of activities or generated the shape of workspace by a whole object concept not separated units of detailed operations. It is difficult for project manager to reasonably analyze the workspace conflict, because the size of workspace cannot reflect the characteristics of an activity and input time of a resource. This paper presents a methodology that can generate three-dimensional models in order to optimize the workspace shape and size by considering with the characteristics of each activity and input time of each resource. The suggested method can be used for the active BIM system that optimizes the workspace conflict without additional construction duration and for the searching algorithm of optimized moving path for construction equipment.

  • The usefulness of media representations for assessing normative standards depends in part on how accurately media reflect "on-the-ground" resource conditions. This study compared encounter standards based on still and moving pictures to assess movement effects. The study location was the Jungmoeri area of Mudeungsan Provincial Park (MPP) in Korea. A total of 50 college students participated in a laboratory experiment where they evaluated still and moving pictures constructed using Photoshop and Flash computer programs. For the maximum acceptable number (MAN), however, there was no significant difference of ratings between still and moving pictures, and the overall encounter norm curves were nearly identical. There were some "method findings" for ordering effects and percent of people moving, but for a resource manager developing standards there was no advantage to the more complex logistics of using moving pictures to assess this particular impact. The trade-offs of using more sophisticated media are discussed, and more research is needed to further explore factors such as movement of sound in evaluation of other resource conditions.

  • The demand of smart cars is increasing rapidly. International stand organize such as 3GPP and 5GAA are proposing standard communication protocvols for connected-car, and automotive network infrastructure. But Smart car network have many security threats and more dangerous against the existed wire communication network. Typically, peripheral devices of a smart car may disguise their identity and steal location information and personal information about the vehicle. In addition, the infrastructure elements around smart cars can conspire and put driving cars in danger, threatening lives. This is a very serious security threat. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, we proposed a system that is secure from collusion and tampering attacks using attribute-based authorize delegation method and threshold encryption algorithms. We have demonstrated using a semantic safety model that the proposed system can be safe from collusion attack.

  • As the demands in a wireless network are recently increasing, it is necessary to promote the power efficiency of a wireless terminal, and to reduce the overhead of a network. To resolve such problems, we propose the paging technology and the structure of paging area with the joint access point in HPi (High-speed Portable Internet) network, which is being studied as the domestic next-generation IP packet data network. The application of the paging technology to the HPi network possesses the advantage of reducing the registration cost while a terminal in dormant state moves around, and the reporting cost of the terminal's location by the joint access point. The technology suggested in this paper causes the advantages that it promotes the power efficiency in user's point of view while it reduces the network overhead and makes the easy rearrangement of joint APs according to the changes of users' moving pattern in the network manager's point of view.

  • The DDS (Data Distribution Service) is a data-centric communication technology that provides an efficient communication service that supports a dynamic plug & play through an automatic setting of participants' location information for each data (Topic) by using DDS discovery technique. This paper proposes the hierarchical-structured DDS discovery technique (SPDP-TBF) suitable for the large-scale distributed systems by comparing and analyzing the existing DDS discovery techniques in terms of performance and problem areas. The proposed SPDP-TBF performs the periodic discovery of the involved participants only by having separate hierarchical managers which take charge of the registration and search (of participants) so that a participant sends its information to the related participants only, and it enhances the effectiveness of the message transfer. Moreover, the proposed SPDP-TBF provides the improved scalability by performing the hierarchical discovery through hierarchical manager nodes so that it can be applied to the large-scale distributed system.

  • What is the national competitive power\ulcorner What are the determinants of national competitive advantage\ulcorner In order to find these problems, this study was initiated theoretically through the international trade theory and international managerial strategic theory. The flow of studies, in connection with these competitive advantage, come into industries competitive advantage from national competitive advantage. It is understood that the flow of studies is based on the change of paradigm about the international industry environment. Today, the international industry environment has been changed into vigorous situation with the new trade system such as globalization, UR negotiation, WTO system instead of GATT. Among these environments, all enterprises in any industries should try to enhance their benefit, income profits and develop their management strategy, because it is essential for them to keep and make a profit in order to be competitive against all other rivaling enterprises. According to researchers and the ages of history, the concept and determinants of competitive advantage have been dissimiliar as followings. 1) Theory of absolute advantage : Absolute Product Cost. 2) Theory of comparative advantage : Comparative Product Cost. 3) Theory of reciprocal demand : the Reciprocal Demand Structure. 4) Theory of Hechsher-Ohlin : Factor Endowment. 5) Paradox of Leontief : the Quality of Factor Endowment. 6) Theory of technological gap : R & D. 7) Technological gap model : The Technological Gap. 8) Theory of the product life cycle : Product Life Cycle. 9) Christensen's study : Firm's character & manager's character. 10) Monopolistic Advantage Theories : Monopolistic Advantage 11) Electic theory : Ownership, location and internalization specific advantages. 12) Theory of value chain : Cost advantage, Differentiation, Focus. However all these theories have the limit of illustration regarding today's competitive situation, the Porter's theory shows well the determinants of competitive advantage with competitive strategy. Suggestion for Safety Improvement of Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle (압축천연가스 자동차의 안전성 향상을 위한 제언)

  • Systematic safety research by Korea Government has been made to enhance the safety of CNG (compressed natural gas) vehicles since the burst of compressed cylinder of an urban bus in August 9, 2010. This article summarizes some major activities to ensure the safety of CNG vehicles, which covers review of regulation, safety management system including standard of inspection and certification, and training program of inspectors and car mechanics. Specifically, the followings were reviewed; type of CNG cylinder, location of CNG cylinder, material and type of fuel line and vent line, modification of pipeline connection, installation of gas detector, installation of emergency shutdown valve, installation of protecting cover for cylinder, obligations for CNG vehicle filling station. improving periodical inspection, routine test on gas vehicles, training program for engaged in gas vehicles, and designation of safety manager for CNG bus company. This paper suggests how to improve safety of CNG vehicles as a result of review of above mentioned check items.
