초고밀도 고층복합빌딩시스템의 최적설계 (Optimum Design For a Highly Integrated Tall Building System)

  • In this study, we propose an innovative lateral force distribution building system between tall buildings by utilizing the difference of moment of inertia, as the alternative design for highly integrated city area. Considering a tri-axial symmetric conditions and boundary conditions for the three-dimensional building structure system, a two-dimensional model is composed. In the proposed indeterminate structural model, important design variables are determined for obtaining minimum horizontal deflections, reactions and bending moments at the ground level of the buildings. Regarding a case of the provided two spatial structures connected to 4 buildings, the optimum location of middle located spatial structure is 45% from the top of the building, which minimize the end moments at the bottom of the buildings. In the considered verification examples, reduced drifts at the top location of the building systems are validated against static wind pressure loads and static earthquake loads. The suggested hybrid building system will improve the safety and reliability of the system due to the added internal truss-dome structures in terms of more than 30% reduced drift and vibration through the development of convergence of tall buildings and spatial structures.

Numerical Investigation of Residual Strength of Steel Stiffened Panel Exposed to Hydrocarbon Fire

  • Current industrial practices and approaches are simplified and do not describe the actual behavior of plated elements of offshore topside structures for safety design due to fires. Therefore, it is better to make up for the defective methods with integrated fire safety design methods based on fire resistance characteristics such as residual strength capacity. This study numerically investigates the residual strength of steel stiffened panels exposed to hydrocarbon jet fire. A series of nonlinear finite element analyses (FEAs) were carried out with varying probabilistic selected exposures in terms of the jet fire location, side, area, and duration. These were used to assess the effects of exposed fire on the residual strength of a steel stiffened panel on a ship-shaped offshore structure. A probabilistic approach with a feasible fire location was used to determine credible fire scenarios in association with thermal structural responses. Heat transfer analysis was performed to obtain the steel temperature, and then the residual strength was obtained for the credible fire scenarios under compressive axial loading using nonlinear FEA code. The results were used to derive closed-form expressions to predict the residual strength of steel stiffened panels with various exposure to jet fire characteristics. The results could be used to assess the sustainability of structures at risk of exposure to fire accidents in offshore installations.

도시유역에서 지체저류시설의 수문학적 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Hydrologic Design of Detention Storage Ponds in Urbanized Area)

  • 본 연구는 도시화로 인해 야기되는 도시유역의 홍수재해를 경감시키기 위하여 우수유출억제대책으로 유역내의 일부에 지체저류시설을 설치하는 방안을 검토하는 것으로서, 도시화의 진전상태에 따라 도시유역의 수문응답특성을 파악하고 적정 지체저류시설의 위치와 크기를 결정하기 위해 유역면적이 각각 1$\textrm{km}^2$, 10$\textrm{km}^2$인 가상의 소유역 및 전유역과 실제 도시유역을 대상으로 해석하였다. 강우빈도, 토지이용단계, 배수패턴, 허용방류량의 규모에 대해 도시화의 진전상태에 따른 수문응답특성을 파악하였으며, 실유역으로는 서울특별시의 잠실 2 및 성내 1 유수지 배수구역을 선정하여 지체저류시설의 크기와 위치를 나타내는 회귀식을 유도하여 제시하였다.

Optimal design of passive containment cooling system for innovative PWR

  • Using the Generation of Thermal-Hydraulic Information for Containments (GOTHIC) code, thermal-hydraulic phenomena that occur inside the containment have been investigated, along with the preliminary design of the passive containment cooling system (PCCS) of an innovative pressurized water reactor (PWR). A GOTHIC containment model was constructed with reference to the design data of the Advanced Power Reactor 1400, and report related PCCS. The effects of the design parameters were evaluated for passive containment cooling tank (PCCT) geometry, PCCS heat exchanger (PCCX) location, and surface area. The analyzed results, obtained using the single PCCT, showed that repressurization and reheating phenomena had occurred. To resolve these problems, a coupled PCCT concept was suggested and was found to continually decrease the containment pressure and temperature without repressurization and reheating. If the installation level of the PCCX is higher than that of the PCCT, it may affect the PCCS performance. Additionally, it was confirmed that various means of increasing the external surface area of the PCCX, such as fins, could help improve the energy removal performance of the PCCS. To improve the PCCS design and investigate its performance, further studies are needed.

  • This study started from the premise that the satisfaction of visitors in large-scaled design-related fair has co-relation with the environmental and contextual factors such as contents, lighting, the number and location of rest area, crowdedness, ventilation and circulation. The research was made in Seoul Living Design Fair 2006. 109 samples from 138 who answered to the questionnaire with likert-scaled and open questions were selected for the data, which were statistically analyzed through SPSS 12.0 program to explore the co-relation between the environmental factors and the satisfaction level of visitors. The findings showed that overall satisfaction level was In the middle of the scale, which means satisfied nor unsatisfied. Even though the visitors had difficulties In circulation and showed various types in circulation. It can be concluded that the main factors should be considered to achieve higher satisfaction level and provide better environment in the large-scaled fair.

웨딩드레스 점포의 정보 수집 및 활용에 관한 연구 -서울 지역을 중심으로- (A Study on the Collection and Utilization of Information by Wedding Dress Shops in Seoul)

  • The purpose of the study was to explore the information activities of wedding dress shops and how companies' characteristics (the number of business year and the location of shops) and information users'characteristics (the year of career) influenced on utilization of information (fashion information, market information and internal information). In addition, the study was to investigate ratings of the importance of the competitive means. The questionnaire was revised by the researchers on the base of preceding research studies after interviewing wedding dress industry workers and performing a pilot survey. The total l10 copies were distributed to the workers of the wedding shops located in the city of seoul. Fifty six copies from the shops in Kangnam area were returned, and 38 copies at Kangbuk area. For statistical analysis, one-way ANOVA and Duncan's tests were used. The results from the study are follow. 1. The heavily utilized fashion information was collected from international and domestic wedding magazine by the respondents for their merchandise and design planning. 2. According to the companies'characteristics (the number of business year and the location of shop), the 50∼10 year-old companies collected fashion information from international fashion shows, domestic wedding/fashion magazine reporters, and utilized sales data as internal information sources than any other companies. The shops in Kangnam area used international fashion information and market information on popular/unpopular goods more than other shops. 3. According to information users'characteristics (the year of career), the 3-5 year-experienced workers utilized domestic fabric converters as an information source, lists of popular/unpopular goods as well as future forecasting information as internal information more any other workers. 4. Dress design, fabrics and customer service before wedding were considered as very important competitive power by wedding shop workers.

기하학적 선의 조합을 응용한 세종문화화관 조경설계 (The Landscape Design of Sejong Center Square by applying the Combination of Geometric Lines)

  • This landscape design is a work for which we selected the square of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts as a object area, drew inhuman factors, and tried to restore them to human environment. This plan assumes that excessive urban environment results from disorder and man can keep it in order and restore it to human environment through the progressive process of speculation. In this plan, we included the least parking space and nearby roads in the object area to maximize the location feature and the symbol of cultural space, and planned that the object area may play its role of open space in the downtown. To grant the symbol of culture space, we established the progressive process of speculation and the relationship of mu, heaven and earth, and culture, geometrically diagrammatized it, combined the circular and rectangular lines derived from it, and suggested a plan. Urban environment will continue to change in the future. However, as long as it is not ensured that the change will progress upward, city would be far from human environment anyhow. Effects to display inhuman space overlooked in the downtown and restore it to human environment for citizen and location for man, should continue.

재가지체장애인의 자립을 저해하는 농촌과 도시의 주거실내 환경요소에 대한 비교연구 (Comparative Analysis of Rural and Urban Residential Interior Elements Affecting Physically Disabled's Independence)

  • For those with disabilities, the residential area is the primary place to adapt the disabilities. Since the quality of the area gives a critical impact on their quality of life, it is essential to finding the measures to create the residential environment that supports their independence. In this regard, this study aimed to compare and analyze the interior elements of the houses that hinder the independence of the physically handicapped in the rural and urban areas, and conducted a survey on a total of 80 physically challenged in Seoul and Yeongwol (40 for each area). As a result, the respondents answered that the houses where they are currently living are hindering their independence regardless of area, and there were regional differences in the level of inconvenience with the size of living room, size of utility room, location of room, lighting and heating environment, ventilation system, deteriorated wallpapers and finishing materials, threshold and floor level difference and humidity control. This study has significance by providing the realistic measures to improve the housing environment of the physically challenged living in the rural and urban areas to be customized to them to increase their quality of life.

신호기 위치에 따른 딜레마존 안전율 분석 (Analysis of Dilemma Zone Safety Considering Signal Location)

  • 교통신호기의 설치목적 중 하나는 교통신호기를 통해 차량의 이동을 명확히 규제하여 교통사고를 사전에 방지하는데 있다. 하지만, 부적절한 신호기 위치로 인해 교차로에 접근하는 운전자가 안전운행에 필요한 행태를 나타내지 못한다면, 교통 안전도를 높이기 위한 방안으로 현장상황에 적합한 설치기준 또는 권고사항이 현장조사 및 분석을 통해서 제시되어야 할 필요가 있다. 이러한 배경에서 본 연구는 도심 신호교차로의 신호기 위치가 교차로에 접근하는 운전자의 운전행태에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석한 결과, 신호기 위치는 딜레마존을 형성하는 운전자의 감속시작지점과 접근속도에 따른 딜레마존 분포에 영향을 미치며, 더욱이 딜레마존 안전율과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 본 연구는 신호교차로의 교통안전도를 향상하기 위한 대안으로 교통신호기를 정지선 근처로 이설 또는 설치하는 방안을 다룬 신호기 설치운영 권고안을 제안하여 현장 활용도를 제고하고자 하였다.

초등학교의 공간종류 및 면적구성에 관한 연구 - 각 학교의 평면분석을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Kind of Space and the Composition of Area in Elementary School - In Priority on Analyzing the Plan of Each School -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the plan type of school building, the present situation of the kind of room, and of the area composition, -the whole area of school building, the area per class, the area for each person, and the rate of the area composition by room- and the latest tendency with the utilization of the plans of 43 elementary schools and to offer the fundamental data on planning elementary school hereafter. The content of this study can be summarized and arranged as follows: 1. In contrast to the past the schools which is recently constructing intend to improve the spacial type and the level of area. 2. Specially, the location and the area of special classrooms, and teacher's spases is to be improved urgently in almost elementary schools. 3. Because even in the school with same number of classrooms, it is proved that there is the difference of the area by space in accordance with the type of plane, hereafter it is requested to investigate the efficient plane design. 4. Hereafter, it is urgently required to comprehend the practical application of these schools and to research for the space of the school which is compatible with the field of school on the fonduation of the requirement of users.
