  • Those who travel to another area for work or travel acquire cquire information through various media such as Internet websites before going to the area. The way to determine whether the information you collect is reliable is to go directly to that area. However, many users may overlook the date the post was posted. when you arrive at a delicious restaurant for a travel purpose, it can happen that the restaurant is gone. In order for Smartphone Users to be able to provide reliable information about a specific region through an application, it is possible to receive information from a specific local user using the application through crowd sourcing techniques. Collect suggestions from users when there are changes in the same area, rather than accepting indiscriminate information and when duplicate content exists, it is marked on the application map so that it can be viewed by other users. It provides not only simple restaurant information, but also area-specific information such as additional information about tourist attractions or information on restrooms to solve physiological phenomena that may occur in the area where they first arrive. Application users can get information about nearby public facilities and restaurants on a GPS basis.

  • The major objective of this study was to develop further understanding of 3D nearshore hydrodynamics under a variety of wave and tidal forcing conditions. The main tool used was a comprehensive 3D numerical model - combining the flow module of Delft3D with the WAVE solver of XBeach - of nearshore hydro- and morphodynamics that can simulate flow, sediment transport, and morphological evolution. Surf-swash zone hydrodynamics were modeled using the 3D Navier-Stokes equations, combined with various turbulence models (${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$, ${\kappa}-L$, ATM and H-LES). Sediment transport and resulting foreshore profile changes were approximated using different sediment transport relations that consider both bed- and suspended-load transport of non-cohesive sediments. The numerical set-up was tested against field data, with good agreement found. Different numerical experiments under a range of bed characteristics and incident wave and tidal conditions were run to test the model's capability to reproduce 3D flow, wave propagation, sediment transport and morphodynamics in the nearshore at the field scale. The results were interpreted according to existing understanding of surf and swash zone processes. Our numerical experiments confirm that the angle between the crest line of the approaching wave and the shoreline defines the direction and strength of the longshore current, while the longshore current velocity varies across the nearshore zone. The model simulates the undertow, hydraulic cell and rip-current patterns generated by radiation stresses and longshore variability in wave heights. Numerical results show that a non-uniform seabed is crucial for generation of rip currents in the nearshore (when bed slope is uniform, rips are not generated). Increasing the wave height increases the peaks of eddy viscosity and TKE (turbulent kinetic energy), while increasing the tidal amplitude reduces these peaks. Wave and tide interaction has most striking effects on the foreshore profile with the formation of the intertidal bar. High values of eddy viscosity, TKE and wave set-up are spread offshore for coarser grain sizes. Beach profile steepness modifies the nearshore circulation pattern, significantly enhancing the vertical component of the flow. The local recirculation within the longshore current in the inshore region causes a transient offshore shift and strengthening of the longshore current. Overall, the analysis shows that, with reasonable hypotheses, it is possible to simulate the nearshore hydrodynamics subjected to oceanic forcing, consistent with existing understanding of this area. Part II of this work presents 3D nearshore morphodynamics induced by the tides and waves.

  • Plain 0.5% bupivacaine and hyperbaric 0.5% tetracaine were compared for spinal anesthesia in 40 patients undergoing operation of lower extremities. Lumbar puncture was performed with a 22 gauge spinal needle with the patient in the lateral recumbent position. The third lumbar interspace was chosen for the puncture, when a free flow of clear CSF was obtained, the local anesthetic solution (2.5ml of 0.5% bupivacaine or 2.0ml of hyperbaric 0.5% tetracaine) was injected at a rate of 0.1ml/sec without barbotage. After injection of anesthetics, clinical features were observed and compared between the two groups. The results were as follows : 1. The two groups were well matched for age, sex, height and weight. 2. In both groups, sensory block to $T_{12}$ dermatome was obtained within 4 minutes, mean maximal level of analgesia was $T_{6-7}$, and the mean time for maximal level was around 20 minutes. 3. The onset times of motor block were similar in both groups and complete motor block was obtained in all cases within 20 minutes. 4. The duration of analgesia above the $T_{12}$ dermatome was 3 hours, postoperative analgesia was 7 hours. These values were significantly prolonged than those of the tetracaine group(p<0.05). 5. The changes in systolic pressure in the bupivacaine group were significantly less than those of the tetracaine group(p<0.05). 6. The complications after spinal anesthesia were headache, numbness, urinary retention and backpain, and were no significant difference in both groups. From the obtained results, we concluded that plain 0.5% bupivacaine was a relatively satisfactory agent for spinal anesthesia for operation of lower extremities. The time of onset, height of block and the complications of postoperative period were similar in both groups. The advantages of plain 0.5% bupivacaine were less hypotension and long duration of analgesia.

  • Urban space is the main contributor of greenhouse gas emissions, a primary cause of global warming. In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, planning at a city-level is necessary. The aim of this research is to develop a carbon emission model which can be used to create and manage urban spaces. In order to achieve this aim, the following methodologies were utilized. First, urban planning criteria related to population, landuse, and activity level were selected through theoretical speculation. Second, carbon dioxide emission was calculated based on electricity, gas energy, heating, petroleum, and water usages. Third, Seoul was selected as a case study city, and a carbon emission model was developed through a relational analysis between Seoul's urban planning criteria and carbon emissions. Thus far, various efforts have been made to respond to climate changes in urban spaces, but these have been limited to analyzing contributing factors in terms of their total amounts of carbon emissions in the entire city. However, the carbon emission model of this study is derived from urban planing criteria at a detailed scale. This sets our study apart from other studies by demonstrating a specific model in a local setting which can be utilized for lowering carbon emissions at a city level.

  • This study applied an occupation-centered transition program to adults, aged 18 years or more, with intellectual disabilities and residing in a local community, and examined the effects of the program on participants' self-efficacy and social participation. To obtain basic data for the program, 44 adults with intellectual disability were divided into two groups: the experimental group, to which an occupation-centered transition program was applied, and the control group, to which the program was not applied. A self-efficacy scale and the K-Community participation indicators (CPI) were used to assess self-efficacy and social participation, respectively. The results showed that the experimental group showed a greater increase in self-efficacy than the control group (p<0.05). Similarly, a greater increase in the CPI scores was observed in the experimental group than in the control group. The changes in the experimental group were significant (p<0.05), but those in the control group were not. These results suggest that an occupation-centered transition program can improve self-efficacy and social participation in adults with an intellectual disability.

  • In the U.S., utility damages or utility delay caused by conflicts during the underground utility relocation is one of the weighty problem in the construction industry. Also, in domestic case, delay and additional cost caused by underground utility(i.e, electricity, communication, gas, water supply and sewerage) relocation has been happened so that there is an increase of claims for responsibility between owners and contractors. However, there is insufficient survey for the recent circumstance of additional cost for delay and design changes caused by utility relocation and shortage of enough research for solving and analyzing of causes and their ripple effect. This research presents a result of the study about the best practices of FHWA(Federal Highway Administration), SHAs(State Highway Agencies) and the utility companies managing utility relocation. Also, it presents the basic concept of SUE(Subsurface Utility Engineering), the most reliable tool of FHWA presented, and investigates the developing status about SUE in Korea. At the end of this paper, this research proposes a practical and more applicable study about the efficient utility relocation focusing on local industry.

  • Associating the shoulder line with head location of the human body is useful in verifying, localizing and tracking persons in an image. Since the head line and the shoulder line, what we call ${\Omega}$-shape, move together in a consistent way within a limited range of deformation, we can build a statistical shape model using Active Shape Model (ASM). However, when the conventional ASM is applied to ${\Omega}$-shape fitting, it is very sensitive to background edges and clutter because it relies only on the local edge or gradient. Even though appearance is a good alternative feature for matching the target object to image, it is difficult to learn the appearance of the ${\Omega}$-shape because of the significant difference between people's skin, hair and clothes, and because appearance does not remain the same throughout the entire video. Therefore, instead of teaming appearance or updating appearance as it changes, we model the discriminative appearance where each pixel is classified into head, torso and background classes, and update the classifier to obtain the appropriate discriminative appearance in the current frame. Accordingly, we make use of two features in fitting ${\Omega}$-shape, edge gradient which is used for localization, and discriminative appearance which contributes to stability of the tracker. The simulation results show that the proposed method is very robust to pose change, occlusion, and illumination change in tracking the head and shoulder line of people. Another advantage is that the proposed method operates in real time.

  • Since there are a lot of changes in climate on domestic and natural disasters owing to the disturbance-development of the land, damages of properties and human life frequently occur due to the coastal floodings. Accordingly, it is necessary to find the area where the danger of flooding coasts is relatively high and to inform resident the characteristics of the area As a part of preventive land management to minimize the flooding damages of the coastal area, this study suggested the generation of the coastal flood hazard map that provides detailed information such as refuge path, a place of refuge, and the location of medical supplies, food, and main rescue equipment, etc. This study selected the southern region of Daebu-do as an exemplary area, conducted a document study to establish GIS data, secured pre-structured data, and suggested the method of establishing GIS data fit to the study area. In particular, it emphasized the efficient construction of the geographical spatial data that were accurate, economic, objective, and realistic in supporting the modeling to predict the flooding zone. The specific type of established database was divided into flooding risk area, flooding warning area, and flooding-volume area. The prototype of coastal flood hazard map can be widely used for efficient disaster management. Furthermore, it is considered that the map could be applied for arousing residents' attentions to the flooding, prior education, and local governments' management actions against the danger of flooding.

  • The development of collaboration among information systems in accordance with changes in enterprises' business environment brings about the problems of duplication of the existing business services and increase in costs of maintenance. Accordingly, Web service has been suggested as the standard of distributed computing to prevent the duplication of services within the same business domain and to attain the services that are already being utilized. But since the data needed for Web services are not standardized, it is difficult for the users to find services that meet diverse business purposes. In this paper, we construct an ontology-based collaboration system for service interoperability. The ontology can support fusion service by finding services which are existed interdependently under the distributed environment for collaboration processing. The role of the collaborative system includes development, registration and call of services based on ontology. A local systems request collaboration support through the service profile. Collaborative system supports the development of service using the service profiles, represents the semantic association between real data through system ontology, and infers relationship between instances contained in the services. Based on this, we applied the travel booking services for collaboration system. As a result, service can be managed effectively preventing collision in collaborative system, and we verify that the mapping between system is reduced.
