This study is to desist and implement an efficient microbial medical image retrieval system based on knowledge and content of them which can make use of more accurate decision on colony as doll as efficient education for new techicians. For this. re first address overall inference to set up flexible search path using rule-base in order U redure time required original microbial identification by searching the fastest path of microbial identification phase based on heuristics knowledge. Next, we propose a color ffature gfraction mtU, which is able to extract color feature vectors of visual contents from a inn microbial image based on especially bacteria image using HSV color model. In addition, for better retrieval performance based on large microbial databases, we present an integrated indexing technique that combines with B+-tree for indexing simple attributes, inverted file structure for text medical keywords list, and scan-based filtering method for high dimensional color feature vectors. Finally. the implemented system shows the possibility to manage and retrieve the complex microbial images using knowledge and visual contents itself effectively. We expect to decrease rapidly Loaming time for elementary technicians by tell organizing knowledge of clinical fields through proposed system.
The blends of waste-polyethylene (W-PE)/waste-ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (W-EVA) with inorganic and phosphorous flame retardants (i.e., aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and so on) were prepared by melt mixing techniques at different compositions and foamed. The flame retardancy and foaming properties of the blends, limiting oxygen index (LOI), heat release rate (HRR), carbon monoxide yield (COY), total heat release (THR), effective heat of combustion (EHC), expandability and cell structure were investigated using cone calorimeter, SEM, LOI tester and polarizing microscope. When the composition ratios of the W-PE/W-EVA blends were 50/50 (w/w), and the ranges of the flame retardants contents were $175{\sim}220 phr$, we could obtain foams with the uniform and closed cell, high expandability (1900 % or more), high LOI, and low HRR values. These results depend on crosslinking and loaming conditions, a char formation and smoke suppressing effect. Aluminium hydroxide had more effect in the increase of LOI than magnesium hydroxide, while magnesium hydroxide considerably affected the decrease of HRR and COY.
The purposes of this study were to analyze the within-group verbal interactions in Thinking Science activities and compare the characteristics of verbal interactions shown by the pupils as well as the differences in help by e teacher in Korea with those in the UK. For the purposes of this study, 16 pupils from comparable groups by cognitive level were selected from both countries. Verbal interactions and teacher help during group discussions were audio/ video taped and the types of students' interactions were classified into interactions related to problem solving, management of classroom loaming and others. The results of this study showed that the verbal interactions in Korean groups were more activated than those in the UK groups. However, the percentages of high level interactions such as metacognitive questions, elaborative suggestions and logical argumentations were higher in the UK groups than those in the Korean groups. Observation of the within-group activities revealed that the pupils of both countries shared some common ground in the following ways; neither recognized the need to formulate the hypothesis in the process of inquiry and that the procedures of discussion were dominated by the pupils of higher cognitive level as the discussion proceeded. It was also observed that the pupils in the UK were considerate in response to the questions posed by both their peers or the teacher, while the pupils in Korea were influenced by their prior knowledge in the subject. Analysis of the teacher help during the inquiry activities showed that the tendency fur the teacher to emphasize the process rather than the product in the procedures of discussion and the extent he/she allowed the pupils to think and consider were closely related to the characteristics of the teacher himself/herself and was found to be a point of commonality in both countries. However, the teachers in the UK revealed the tendency of trying to propose the task to the pupils in concrete and systematic ways and guide the discussion based on the thinking of the pupils, while those in Korea tried to use strategies designed to draw out active verbal interactions among the pupils.

Cosmeceuticals products we not the products simply for moisturizing and protecting skin but the ones for encouraging to make improvements on wrinkles and helping to whiten, tan, and protect skin against ultraviolet light. In a broader sense, they refer to products with aiming to maintain healthy condition of skin such that skin troubles could be improved or aging of skin could be delayed. However, cosmeceuticals should not have any side effects because they are applied to the whole body for a long period of time differing from medical products which are used on specific areas for a short time. The number of such cosmeceuticals has increased from 500 in 2001 to 2300 in 2003. In order to develop and broaden the scope of cosmeceuticals, the concept of cosmetics needs to be changed from caring skin to delaying aging of the skin and reviving cells. For this purpose, high-valued materials should be developed through basic researches related to the biological function of skin, in vivo experiment and reaction of skin in response to various stimuli using biotechnologies and bioengineering methods. At the same time, it should be proceeded to develop new nano materials for overcoming skin barriers and transfer matericals for helping to absorb effective substances and maintaining stability.
It has been widely researched in many studies what is the most effective way to learn English as a second language. It has been generally accepted that the most effective teaching method is to make students interested in learning of English. Teaching method has to be modified with the change of the times according to the demand of the students. The purpose of this study is to reveal that language teaming method through internet could be more effective than that of the existing teaching one by offline loaming. For this purpose some subject students were divided by two groups of the experimental and of the controlled. From the result of the study it could be derived that teaching method, by means of cyber lecture, make a great effect not only on the attitude but on the achievement of the students when they are in the class of English as a second language. This paper also shows what could be the typical model for the teaching method by internet based on the experiment. This kind of way of teaching is supported by the questionnaire which has much more positive response from the students who were in the member of experimental group. Finally such a experiment would be described based on the Web-oriented teaching method with the respect of education of digital contents.

This study analyzes divisor and multiple in elementary school mathematics textbooks published according to the first to the 7th curriculum, in a view point of the didactic transposition theory. In the first and second textbooks, the divisor and the multiple are taught in the chapter whose subject is on the calculations of the fractions. In the third and fourth textbooks, divisor and multiple became an independent chapter but instructed with the concept of set theory. In the fifth, the sixth, and the seventh textbooks, not only divisor multiple was educated as an independent chapter but also began to be instructed without any conjunction with set theory or a fractions. Especially, in the seventh textbook, the understanding through activities of students itself are strongly emphasized. The analysis on the each curriculum periods shows that the divisor and the multiple and the reduction of a fractions to the lowest terms and to a common denominator are treated at the same period. Learning activity elements are increase steadily as the textbooks and the mathematical systems are revised. The following conclusion can be deduced based on the textbook analysis and discussion for each curriculum periods. First, loaming instruction method also developed systematically with time. Second, teaching method of the divisor and multiple has been sophisticated during the 1st to 7th curriculum textbooks. And the variation of the teaching sequences of the divisor and multiple is identified. Third, we must present concrete models in real life and construct textbooks for students to abstract the concepts by themselves. Fourth, it is necessary to develop some didactics for students' contextualization and personalization of the greatest common divisor and least common multiple. Fifth, the 7th curriculum textbooks emphasize inquiries in real life which teaming activities by the student himself or herself.

Mathematics textbooks are substitutive showing real characters of didactic transposition in pseudo-contextualization and pseudo-personalization. This study analyzed statistical graphs in elementary school mathematics textbooks according to the first to the 7th curriculum in Korea. It focused on the didactic principles used in those methods through those view of Didactic Transposition Theory. The features of the elementary school mathematics textbooks in Korea are investigated and described ethnomethodologically according to each curriculum periods in dividing bar graph, line graph, pictograph, graph of ratio, histogram. The teaching sequences and methods of the statistical graphs, order and methods of sub-learning activities, teaming data, matter of the learning activity indicator were summarized. Usually, the teaching sequences, excepting the graphs of ratio, statistical graphs are introduced in the second semester of each grade. The graph of ratio is introduced in the first semester of 6th grade. As a result of analysing sub-Loaming activities, using them increased from the first to the 7th curriculum and its form was fixed constructive and stable at the 4th curriculum textbooks. As a result of analysing the teaming data, the data of the social aspects are used more frequently and the data of the individual preferences trended more gradually. As a result of analysing the matter of the teaming activity indicators, concept-explanation question style were used more frequently. Statement-practice style and consideration style trended gradually. Concluding remarks are: First, the didactic transposition of the elementary school mathematics textbooks developed systematically according to the first to the 7th curriculum; Second, mathematics textbooks gradually introduced the positive learning style of activity and the learners' spontaneousness; Third, more concrete practice activities and reflective activities were variously introduced considering the level and interest of each elementary student.
This study is intended to reconsider the meaning of the education for gifted/talented children, the foundation object of science high school by examining the behavior characteristics between gifted students and talented students in open-end mathematical problem solving and to provide the basis for realization of 'meaningful teaming' tailored to the learner's level, the essential of school education. For the study, 8 students (4 gifted students and 4 talented students) were selected out of the 1 st grade students in science high school through the distinction procedure of 3 steps and the behavior characteristics between these two groups were analyzed according to the basis established through the literature survey. As the results of this study, the following were founded. (1) It must be recognized that the constituent members of science high school were not the same excellent group and divided into the two groups, gifted students who showed excellence in overall field of mathematical behavior characteristics and talented students who had excellence in learning ability of mathematics. (2) The behavior characteristics between gifted students and talented students, members of science high school is understood and a curriculum of science high school must include a lesson for improving the creativity as the educational institutions for gifted/talented students, unlike general high school. Based on these results, it is necessary to try to find a support plan that it reduces the case which gifted students are generalized with common talented students by the same curriculum and induces the meaningful loaming to learners, the essential of school education.
In this study, I classify the elements of physiognomic judgment of character with regard to form and meaning from a visual perspective based on physiognomic judgment of character study in 'the cosmic dual forces and the Five Elements theory'. Individual characters for each type are designed using graphic data. Based on that, design system of individual characters for each personality type is investigated using Neural Network system. Faces with O-Haeng (Five Elements) shapes are shown to constitute the system with ${\pm}0.3%$ degree of error tolerance for the non-loaming input data. For the shapes of Chinese characters 'tree, fire, soil, gold and water', their MSE(Mean Square Error) are 0.3, 0.3, 0.2, 0.5, 0.2. It seems to be the best regarding the scoring system which ranges from 0 to 5. Therefore, this system might be regarded to produce the most accurate facial shape of character automatically when we input character's personality we desire to make.
In Korea, a resident registration card has various personal information such as a present address, a resident registration number, a face picture and a fingerprint. A plastic-type resident card currently used is easy to forge or alter and tricks of forgery grow to be high-degree as time goes on. So, whether a resident card is forged or not is difficult to judge by only an examination with the naked eye. This paper proposed an automatic recognition method of a resident card which recognizes a resident registration number by using a refined ART2-based RBF network newly proposed and authenticates a face picture by a template image matching method. The proposed method, first, extracts areas including a resident registration number and the date of issue from a resident card image by applying Sobel masking, median filtering and horizontal smearing operations to the image in turn. To improve the extraction of individual codes from extracted areas, the original image is binarized by using a high-frequency passing filter and CDM masking is applied to the binaried image fur making image information of individual codes better. Lastly, individual codes, which are targets of recognition, are extracted by applying 4-directional contour tracking algorithm to extracted areas in the binarized image. And this paper proposed a refined ART2-based RBF network to recognize individual codes, which applies ART2 as the loaming structure of the middle layer and dynamicaly adjusts a teaming rate in the teaming of the middle and the output layers by using a fuzzy control method to improve the performance of teaming. Also, for the precise judgement of forgey of a resident card, the proposed method supports a face authentication by using a face template database and a template image matching method. For performance evaluation of the proposed method, this paper maked metamorphoses of an original image of resident card such as a forgey of face picture, an addition of noise, variations of contrast variations of intensity and image blurring, and applied these images with original images to experiments. The results of experiment showed that the proposed method is excellent in the recognition of individual codes and the face authentication fur the automatic recognition of a resident card.
