Reflections on Developmental Research as a Research Methodology (교과과정 개발을 위한 기초로서의 개발연구에 대한 고찰)

  • Recently, there have been many changes in researches of mathematics education. There is a growing number of researchers who are interested in empirical researches. According to the these changes, there is also an emphasis on methodology of mathematics education. This means that many researchers try to conduct an research using scientific approach. Therefore, new types of research developing mathematics courses recently has evolved as follows: teaching experiment, hypothetical loaming trajectory, design science, developmental research. The aim of this study is to reflect on developmental research in RME and to induce desirable directions for developing our mathematics courses. In order to attain these purposes, the present paper reflects the philosophy of RME, aim, procedure, data collection, data analysis, and justification of developmental research with illustrating a exemplar Based on these reflections, it is discussed that it needs to construct the mathematics curriculum connecting theory and practice in mathematics education, to report the process of developing mathematics courses faithfully, and to develop real mathematics courses after conducting basic developmental researches in order to take scientific app- roaches for developing mathematics courses.

The New Architecture of Low Power Inner Product Processor for Reconfigurable Neural Networks (재구성 가능한 뉴럴 네트워크 구현을 위한 새로운 저전력 내적연산 프로세서 구조)

  • The operation mode of neural network is divided into learning and recognition process. Learning is updating process of weight until neural network archives target result from input pattern. Recognition is arithmetic process of input pattern and weight. Traditional inner product process is focused to improve processing speed and hardware complexity. There is no hardware architecture to distinguish between loaming and recognition mode of neural network. In this paper we propose the new architecture of low power inner product processor for reconfigurable neural network. The proposed architecture is similar with bit-serial inner product processor on learning mode. It have several advantages which are fast processing base on bit-level, suitability of hardware implementation and pipeline architecture to compute data. And proposed architecture minimizes active units and reduces consumption power on recognition mode. Result of simulation shows that active units is depend on bit representation of weight, but we can reduce active units about 50 precent.

  • This study is to find out the possibility of applying the Blended Learning which combines the advantage of face-to-face classroom instruction and e-Learning to design education. This Blended Loaming Model has five steps such as 'prepare, teach, show, interact, and collaborate'. It is designed by the learning decision points (performance outcomes, content stability and structure, audience size, and so on) and the characteristics of delivery methods(asynchronous, synchronous). This research is based on the learners' satisfaction data of each step. The number of the participants is 27 and a questionnaire with 21 items is administered. Ten items of them are designed with 5-point Likert scales and the rest of them ask learners describe the reason of their selection. The result show that learners are satisfied with the blended learning than the off-line classroom. It is expected that the blended learning can be a substitute of the off-line classroom for the effectiveness of design education.

  • Reinforcement learning takes reward about selecting action when agent chooses some action and did state transition in Present state. this can be the important subject in reinforcement learning as temporal-credit assignment problems. In this paper, by new meta heuristic method to solve hard combinational optimization problem, examine Ant-Q learning method that is proposed to solve Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) to approach that is based for population that use positive feedback as well as greedy search. And, suggest Ant-TD reinforcement learning method that apply state transition through diversification strategy to this method and TD-error. We can show through experiments that the reinforcement learning method proposed in this Paper can find out an optimal solution faster than other reinforcement learning method like ACS and Ant-Q learning.

  • In data representation, the clustering performs a grouping process which combines given data into some similar clusters. The various similarity measures have been used in many researches. But, the validity of clustering results is subjective and ambiguous, because of difficulty and shortage about objective criterion of clustering. The fuzzy clustering provides a good method for subjective clustering problems. It performs clustering through the similarity matrix which has fuzzy membership value for assigning each object. In this paper, for objective fuzzy clustering, the clustering algorithm which joins principal components analysis as a dimension reduction model with bayesian learning as a statistical learning theory. For performance evaluation of proposed algorithm, Iris and Glass identification data from UCI Machine Learning repository are used. The experimental results shows a happy outcome of proposed model.

  • With the increasing service Qualify and security in the Mobile Internet Diameter technology based on the AAAv6 is being used in the user authentication. But there are some Problems on the authentication Procedures of the Diameter in which the security falls down from a loaming service or Internet transmission course. We combine it with the cipher algorithm like EAP-MD5 and accomplish a user authentication processing. If we want to supply the user authentication with the mobility among domains by AAAv6-based Diameter, we need the efficient capacity allocation among AAA attendent, AAAv, AhAb, AAAh, HA servers in the AAAv6. Therefore in this paper, we propose to make the authentication capacity index to carry out user authentication ability by analyzing an EAP-MD5S server capacity model of AAAv6 authentication models for users with mobility among domains, and to find the optimized condition for the AAAv6 capacity by the index.

A Study on the Differences in Learning-Activity Preferences between Gifted and Average Students according to Thinking Styles (사고 유형에 따른 영재 아동과 일반 아동의 학습 선호 활동의 차이 연구)

  • This study investigated the differences in learning activity preferences according to different thinking styles between gifted and average students. A cluster analysis procedure was performed to classify students on the basis of thinking styles. Two clusters of different thinking styles were deduced: the gifted group with a high level thinking style (cluster 1), and the average group with a low level thinking style (cluster 2). The gifted group (cluster 1) preferred projects, simulations, discussions and game activities to other types of loaming activities. Gifted students and average students also were clustered into each three unique subgroups with respect to levels and patterns in thinking styles, and these subgroups also showed different learning preferences. The clusters of gifted students included the self-regulated learning type (cluster a), cooperative-learning type (cluster b), and the passive-learning type (cluster c). The clusters of average students included the independent learning type (cluster i), no-preference learning type(cluster ii), and the no-motivation & teacher-directed learning type (cluster iii). Theses clusters indicated significant differences not only in thinking styles but also in terms of preferences regarding learning activities. Theses findings are discussed in terms of their educational implications.

An Efficient Shared Loaming Scheme for Layered Video Streaming over Application Layer Multicast (응용 계층 멀티캐스트에서 계층형 비디오 스트리밍의 안정성 향상을 위한 효율적인 공유 학습 기법)

  • Layered video multicast such as RLM Receiver-driven layered multicast) is a premising technique for delivering streaming video to a set of heterogeneous receivers over ALM(Application Layer Multicast) as well as over IP multicast. However, this approach may suffer from unnecessary fluctuation of video quality due to overlapped and failed join-experiments. Though a shared teaming scheme was introduced to resolve these problems, it may cause high control overhead and slow convergence problem when used with ALM. In this paper, we propose a new shared learning scheme for ALM-based layered video multicast which reduces control overhead and convergence latency while keeping the number of fluctuation reasonably small. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme performs better than an ALM-based layered video multicast with shared learning in terms of control overhead and convergence latency.

Development of e-Learning System Based on Open Source Software (공개 소프트웨어 기반 e-Learning 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper we developed e-Leaning system based on open source software. We selected the Moodle that after compared the open source learning management systems. Moodle is LAMP(Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) based course management system (CMS), a software package designed to help educators create quality online courses. One of the main advantages of Moodle over other systems is a strong grounding in social constructionist pedagogy. Also we integrated Moodle and legacy systems such as streaming service, webhard service, and short message service. The system operated during one semester at college using blended learning model. We had obtained showed that the students had almost all scored quite highly as preferred learning environment through COLLES(Constructivist On-Line Learning Environment Survey) and ATTLS(Attitudes to Thinking and Learning Survey). Therefore this research showed that open source based e-Loaming system is stable and possible.

  • This study has developed Web-based, Automated Lesson Planner System for teachers to make out and make use of lesson plans using ICT(Information & Communication Technology). First, web-based lesson planner system has been developed to make teachers possible to make and use lesson plans on the web. Second, the database of electronic lesson planner system has been designed and established according to Korean curriculum and form of teaching-loaming lesson plan using ICT. Third, the system embodied making out a lesson plan easily and operating all ICT materials together. Last, the system was applied to the real elementary school fields and the efficiency and improvements were analyzed. This lesson planner system made database of all ICT materials and lesson plans, so that it can manage and control all lesson plans systematically. Also, the lesson plans and ICT materials are connected together, so the database can be a dynamic content storage. The construction of this system established maximization of share, use and storage of teaching-learning lesson plans. It will be popularize in real education fields and made a contribution to the school informatization.
