Ewing`s sarcoma is a highly malignant tumor which occurs most frequently in the diaphysis of the long bones, although any bone may be involved. Ewing`s sarcomas occurring in the rib are rare. Recently, we experienced one case of Ewing`s sarcoma which arose in the right second rib in a young female patient. She was treated with three principal treatment modalities-en bloc excision of chest wall followed by radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Clinical course is described with review of related literatures.

It is well known that the atrial myxoma is the most common intracardiac tumor which is hardly able to be diagnosed preoperatively and is completely curable if surgical treatment is appropriate. A case of the atrial myxoma, which was misdiagnosed as mitral valvular disease preoperatively and was successfully removed with the aid of the cardiopulmonary bypass, was reported. The common symptoms,signs,diagnostic measures and treatments of the intracardiac tumor were discussed with the review of literatures.

Still a lethal injury, traumatic rupture of thoracic aorta occurs more frequently than we expect and comprises significant part of causes of deaths by blunt trauma. We recently experienced a thoracic aortic rupture accompanied by multiple injuries including pericardial and interatrial septal rupture and myocardial contusion in a patient who had been injured in a fall accident. Literatures are reviewed with the concern of early diagnosis, surgical technique and the result of operation.

Mollusks were collected with Ponar grab from seven stations in lower part of Han river, Korea from June 1995 through May 1996. Basket sampler with artificial substrate was also employed to collect the adhesive mollusks. In addition to above mentioned sampling stations, Bam islet was surveyed. A total of species, Corbicula fluminea, Anodonta woodiana, Unio douglasiae, Limnoperna fortunei, corbicula fenouilliana and Physa acuta, were collected in lower part of Han river. Author reviewed the literatures on the ecological survey of molluscan fauna in Han river.

Scientific studies on the family have been done since 1960, considerable amounts have been accumulated quantitatively and qualitatively. But, it is a pity that research results from many other disciplines were not classified systematically nor exchanged each other. This historical review includes results on the family studies in Americal and Korea, in the latter, 1191 literatures are analyzed into 7 major domains : marriage and family values, family relationships, family structure, family problems, family studies trend, sex-roles, etc. Based on this article, more desirable theory building in Korean families is required.

This study evaluates the concrete shear strength for normal and high strength concrete beams reinforced with 3 type FRP bars (CFRP, GFRP, HFRP). Experimental results obtained from twenty-four simply supported concrete beams are compared with values predicted by FRP shear strength expressions proposed in the various literatures, including the ACI Committee 318 and ACI Committee440. The shear strength correction factors are proposed through the regression analysis.

This article investigates the different numerical methods, which are widely used for purpose of simulating a fire compartment the particular numerical methods such as finite difference, finite element, control Volume, and finite analysis are discribed in order to understand basic concepts and their applications. The fire simulations using fferent methods for the different physical geometrics have been reported in many recent literatures The convergence rate, the accuracy, and the stability are no simply dependent upon the specific method, The study of popular nu-merical methods by being compared among those is therefore significant to understand the nu-merical simulation of fire compartment.

In this paper, we consider the problem of testing for parameter change in time series models based on a cusum of squares. Although the test procedure is well-established for the mean and variance in time series models, a general parameter case was not discussed in literatures. Therefore, here we develop the cusum of squares type test for parameter change in a more general framework. As an example, we consider the change of the parameters in an RCA(1) model. Simulation results are reported for illustration.

A previous study suggested that there might be an association between use of herb medicine and peptic ulcer. The past history of patient with perforated duodenal ulcer was treated with herb medicine. We identified that the mucosa of stomach & duodenum were completed healed by herb medicine treatment on the gastro-endoscopy and the systom. Author report ths case with a brief review of literatures.
