This research is to build the foundation of systematic application of color in cosmetology by analyzing color attributes in women's makeup presentation. The result were as follows. 1. The most popular color series in make up were R then RP and YR. The most popular color tone is 'd' and 'lt'. 2. Colors in make up according to age was as follows. For eye shadow, people aged 18 to 24 used 'lt' tone of the R color series; people aged 25 to 34 used 'lt', 's', 'sf tone of the R color series, 'lt' tone of the PB color series, 'lt' tone of the YR color series; people over 35 'g' tone of the YR color series, 'sf' tone of the P color series. For lipstick, people aged 18 to 24 used 'd' tone of the R color series; people aged 25 to 34 used 'd', 'sf' tone of the R color series; people over 35 used 'd' tone of the R color series. For lip-gloss, people aged 18 to 24 used 'v', 'lt', 'b', 's' tone of the R color series; people aged 25 to 34 used 's' 'd' 'dp' 'sf' tone of the R color series; people over 35 used 'b' tone of the R color series. 3. Make up colors according to marital status was as follows. For eye shadow, while married interviewees used 's', 'dk' tone of the R color series, single interviewees used 'lt', 'sf' tone of the R color series. For lipstick, while married interviewees used 'd', 'g' tone of the R color series, single interviewees preferred to use madder 'd', 'sf' tone of the R color series. For lip-gross, while married interviewees used 'd' tone of the R color series, single interviewees used 'b' tone of the R color series the most.
The purpose of this study was to identify the change and characteristics of 20th Korean women's make-up the result of the study as follows: In the period 1920's 1. The drastic social changes such as civilzation and revolution together with the in troduction of western culture affected make-up and clothes. New women and high school girls wore the modified costume make-up hair style But general public women keep to traditional skin care style and white skin colour was popular. 2. In recent year after 1960's economic de-velopment the women's social status were pormoted after 1970's various colour em-phasize lip eye there by resulting in remark-able modification in the Korean women's apperance. In those days there was the large cosmetic producst of vavious colour 3. The result of this study indicated that the value of recognize the importance of total fashion is the harmonization of clothes and make-up 4. It was also suggested Korean beauty in the future should be achieved in accordance with tradition and modern sense.
In spite of all fine methods developed for treating cleft lip, a certain percentage of cases might still need secondary correction. Generally, secondary revision of cleft lip is much difficult to produce esthetic outcome, because the cleft lip scar gives a variable symmetrical and anatomic defect that may not be possible to make inconspicuous of this scar and rebuild good esthetics. In this case report, a five year-old girl was underwent secondary cleft lip repair using straight line technique to correct unfavorable postoperative scar, peaking of Cupid's bow, notching of vermillion and shortened lip on cleft side with simultaneous repairing cleft palatal fistula. After operation, the secondary deformity was much improved, but, long term follow up is needed to evaluate the additional postoperative deformity might be happen during growth.

Purpose: The Mulliken's method is a one of the very excellent technique to correction of the unilateral cleft lip. It could decrease the need of additional operation and second operation by the early simultaneous correction of unilateral cleft lip and nasal deformity, at a time. Numerous procedures were advocated for the correction of nasal deformity, but with general dissatisfaction of the results, it became obvious that no one procedure is the ideal one. The authors have been operating on unilateral cleft lip by Mulliken's method and long term follow - up of postoperative result was evaluated. Methods: The authors have done long term follow - up of result in the 75 cases unilateral cleft lip patient, during 1 ~ 7 years. That was repaired by simultaneous correction of cleft lip and nasal deformity by Mulliken's method at the period from June, 1997 to December, 2007. The patients were unilateral complete cleft lip 39 cases, unilateral incomplete cleft lip 36 cases. In the severe complete cleft lip cases, lip adhesion operation was done before definite operation. The mean age of unilateral cleft lip operation was 3.2 months. Five anthropometric parameters, which were upper lip, cutaneous lip and vermilion mucosa height, nasal tip protrusion, columella length were measured by Sliding Vernier Caliper. The anthropometric analysis was performed preoperative and postoperative at 6 months, 3, 5 and 7 years and the results were com pared with those of age - matched, normal children. T - tests were used to analyze the differences between the measurements. Results: Long - term postoperative results were evaluated by anthropometrically. Most patients showed adequate growth of upper lip height, vermilion mucosa height and columella length. But nasal tip protrusion was relatively short compare with normal value. Incomplete cleft lip group was nearly normal growth results than complete cleft lip group. Conclusion: In conclusion, we could make harmonious Cupid's bow, natural philtrum and lip, appropriate nasal shape by Mulliken's method. But nasal tip protrusion was under the normal values on complete and incomplete group. And incomplete group was more good results than complete group. We have experienced repair of cleft lip by Mulliken's method with 75 cases of unilateral cleft lip patients and conclude that it was very useful and good method.
This study consists of the stimuli of a female model in her twenties with twenty-three different facial make-up and survey on the differences of them for the development of make-up color system, based on the color-sense on the Korean's skin-tone and make-up color, to enforce the efficiency of beauty education. The result of this study and the suggestion is as followed. Firstly, Familiarity, Intelligence, Fitness, Charm, Tradition and Youth were came out as the result of factor analysis of make-up color image perception. Secondly, the stimulus of bare face was evaluated as more familiar and intelligent than the one with image make-up but perceived as unhealthy and not untraditional. Thirdly, skin tone had a big impact on both in lip color that's been applied in monotonous make-up and in image make-up that had been applied in contrastive make-up. Through these results, it is confirmed that the skin tone and make-up colors were influential variables in the research on facial image perception and preference against a female model in her 20s, and also the image test and preference can be changed according to the color contrasts. This research will be used as a basic tool for the development of make-up color applying system with image perception of statics of population variables and preference research. Also it aims to suggest the alternatives to perform the present collage make-up education for more systematic and organized education.
Man's search for beauty has been going on from prehistoric time until today, and the pursuit of beauty has been progressing, regardless of the times, as a human psychological desire. In the search for beauty, hair and make-up have been subjects of interest for a long time, but the development of designs for these two aspects are still behind compared to other areas. Therefore, this study aims to propose various new and creative hair and make-up designs and to suggest their possible development. Using existing literature, this paper studied the skin color and hair color of Koreans that had been studied in earlier papers. It also aimed to understand the hair color and hair color images that are suitable for each skin color, classify the modern hair and make-up trends into different images - natural, surrealistic, minimalist, and cyber look, and also analyze them. Actual hair and make-up were also designed based on these images. To depict the natural image, the make-up was made intentionally dark as the skin color; natural materials were used for hair decoration; brown and yellow were used for the eye shadow to express the natural and romantic image of autumn, in general. Second, in the work expressing the surrealistic image, the hair was creatively decorated with a collage of various objects; yellow, green, and red eye shadows and lip expression were used to visually achieve the surrealistic fantasy look. Thirdly, in the work expressing the minimalist image, hair style with bangs without any hair decoration was used; make-up colors were minimized as well, creating a generally simple image. Finally, for the work expressing the cyber image, metallic material decoration was used on a puff-up hair style; the cyber image was emphasized through the use of graphical elements in the make-up.
This study aims to present basic materials to promote the importance of make-up design in advertising images and designing effective perfume advertisement by looking at features such as colors, forms, patterns, and material feels, the elements of make-up designs shown magazine advertising images for various perfume brands. The features of make-up designs shown in Anna Sui and Bvlgari perfume advertisements are as the following. Among 9 images in Anna Sui advertisements, 5 displayed mat-like skin feels. Among shadow colors, brown colors accounted for over half, 5 out of 9 while pink colors accounted 5 out of 9 for cheek make-up. Among 7 images in Bvlgari advertisements, pale blue skin colors accounted most, 5 out 7. 4 out of 7 displayed mat-like skin feels and 4 out 7 were in pink colors for lip make-up. Anna Sui brand was found to use a bold and unique makeup design for each perfume advertisement according to the designer's fashion orientation tendency to pursue unique, vintage-style, and romantic images whereas Bvlgari focused on make-up to emphasize elegant and refined female beautify according to the company philosophy of pursuing elegant and high-class images. Namely, it was determined that the BI(brand image), the images a company pursues is related to the MI(make up image), the make-up images in advertisements.

In this study, the impression formation according to the lip design of beauty makeup, preferred lips and its reasons have been empirically analyzed. The research method is a questionnaire survey using SPSS program. As a result of the study, it has been founded the significant influence of the color and shape of the lips on the impression formation, and the modern people's views on lip makeup could be identified. The most preferred lip color was red, and the preferred lip shape was the standard type. As a result of factor analysis, red color showed the highest capability factor, and pink color showed the highest sociability factor among lip colors. It hopefully is expected that this study will be utilized as basic data for beauty design.
Black has been the most important color of all since the ancient times when the recognition of black roused, as well as during most of the eras; and can especially be said as the main color which controlled the chronicles of fashion. The purpose of the study was to broaden the application of black color image make-up by inquiring into make-up design elemental characteristics of lines and textures, after classifying magazine illustrations and advertisement make-up images using black. The photos which made effective use of black among fashion illustrations, magazine advertisements after 2001 were classified in to each type, and make-up expression method and characteristics according to design element of each image type was analyzed. The conclusion of such study was the following. 'Erotic image' showed contrast effect between eye make-up and lip color by using pale tone or red color. 'Mannish image' emphasized form and texture of eyebrow by restraining the colors of eyelids with natural brown tone eye make-up; 'Modern image' expressed vague eyebrow to bring the sensation of the direction of eye shadow on eyelids and eye line as well as slant line to relief. 'Kitsch image' showed free and light imagery by creating unique hair style with various colors; expressing lips mostly with colors similar to skin tone or by restraining colors on lips. 'Decadence image' showed messy and foul sensation with unstandardized eye make-up and matt skin of shimmer, glossy and pale tone, also with black colored lips; 'Retro image' expressed reinterpretation of images from 1920${\sim}$1960 to contemporary styles.
