A SIMPLE METHOD FOR OBTAINING PROJECTION MATRIX USING ALGEBRAIC PROPERTIES

  • The projection matrix plays an important role in the linear model theory. In this paper we derive an algebraic relationship between the projection matrices of submatrices of the design matrix. Using this relationship we can easily obtain the projection matrices of any submatrices of the design matrix. Also we show that every projection matrix can be obtained as a linear combination of Kronecker products of identity matrices and matrices with all elements equal to 1.

  • In this paper, we studied efficiency improvement of linear ultrasonic motor using projection. The principle of ultrasonic motor is to use an elliptic motion generated at the side of the vibrator, and the elliptic motion of the ultrasonic motor was obtained by complex oscillation of L$_1$-B$_4$ mode. As the experimental results, the efficiency of linear ultrasonic motor without projection was 1.52[%] when applied voltage was 56[V] in resonance frequency 58.4[kHz]. The efficiency of linear ultrasonic motor using projection was 3.36[%] when applied voltage was 56[V] in resonance frequency 58.4[kHz]. The efficiency was improved by projection.

  • The purpose of this paper is to show the graphic representation of a linear programming problem by a projection method. First, we develop a projection method which conserves the optimality in the projected space, and next we introduce an algorithm to visualize the feasible solution set and the solution process by the projection method. Finally, we give an example to represent a 4-dimensional linear programming problem graphically.

  • In this paper we use the Isometric Projection, a linear subspace method, for manifold representation of the pose-varying-faces. Isometric Projection method for pose identification is evaluated on view varying faces and is compared with other global and local linear subspace methods.

  • 본 논문은 고차원 얼굴 모션 캡처 데이터를 선형 및 비선형 투영 기법에 각각 적용하고, 이를 2차원 평면으로 투영하기 위한 최적의 방법론에 대한 것이다. 본 방법의 핵심 요소는 프레임 단위의 고차원 얼굴 표정 데이터를 선형 투영 기법인 PCA와 비선형 투영 기법인 Isomap, MDS, CCA, Sammon's Mapping, LLE 등에 적용하고 이를 저차원 공간에 분포시키는 방법론 및 그 결과를 비교 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해서는 먼저 기존의 고차원 얼굴 표정 프레임 데이터들 사이의 거리를 구하고, 선형 및 비선형 투영 기법들을 적용한 상태에서 기존의 데이터들 사이의 거리 관계를 유지하면서 저차원인 2차원 평면 공간에 분포시키는 것이다. 그리고 2차원 공간에 분포된 얼굴 표정 데이터가 원형 데이터와 비교 했을 때, 최적의 상태로 프레임 데이터들 사이의 거리 관계를 유지하고 있는 투영 기법을 찾는다. 결국 본 논문에서는 고차원 얼굴 표정 데이터를 저차원 공간에 투영하기 위한 선형 및 비선형 투영 기법들을 비교 분석하고, 각각에서 최적의 투영 기법을 찾아낸다.

AN ITERATIVE METHOD FOR SYMMETRIC INDEFINITE LINEAR SYSTEMS

  • For solving symmetric systems of linear equations, it is shown that a new Krylov subspace method can be obtained. The new approach is one of the projection methods, and we call it the projection method for convenience in this paper. The projection method maintains the residual vector like simpler GMRES, symmetric QMR, SYMMLQ, and MINRES. By studying the quasiminimal residual method, we show that an extended projection method and the scaled symmetric QMR method are equivalent.

  • Projection pursuit(PP) is a computer-intensive method which seeks out interesting linear projections of multivariate data onto a lower dimension space by machine. By working with lower dimensional projections, projection pursuit avoids the sparseness of high dimensional data. We show through simulation that two projection pursuit discriminant mothods proposed by Chen(1989) and Huber(1985) do not improve very much the error rate than the existing methods and compare several classification procedures.

방사선 투과 각도에 따른 족부 방사선 지표의 변화: Phantom Foot을 이용한 연구 (Change of Radiologic Index of Foot according to Radiation Projection Angle: A Study Using Phantom Foot)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the measurement differences of simple radiographs according to radiation projection angle using a phantom and to propose methods for objective analysis of simple radiographs. Materials and Methods: We took simple radiographs with different projection angles using a C-arm image intensifier and measured five parameters of the foot on the simple radiographic images. Five parameters include lateral tibiocalcaneal angle, lateral talocalcaneal angle, naviculocuboid overlap, lateral talo-first metatarsal angle, and lateral calcaneo-first metatarsal angle. Intraobserver and interobserver reliability were verified, and then intraclass correlations of parameters were analyzed. Results: Radiographic parameters of the foot showed high intraobserver and interobserver reliability. Lateral tibiocalcaneal angle has a strong negative linear relationship with rotation and a moderate negative linear relationship with tilt. Lateral talocalcaneal angle has a moderate positive linear relationship with rotation and a strong positive linear relationship with tilt. Naviculocuboid overlap has a strong positive linear relationship with rotation and a moderate positive linear relationship with tilt. Lateral talo-first metatarsal angle does not have a linear relationship with rotation and a moderate negative linear relationship with tilt. Lateral calcaneo-first metatarsal angle has a moderate positive linear relationship with rotation and tilt. Conclusion: More precise evaluation of the foot with a simple radiograph can be performed by understanding the changes of radiographic parameters according to radiation projection angle.

ANALYSIS OF SOME PROJECTION METHODS FOR THE INCOMPRESSIBLE FLUIDS WITH MICROSTRUCTURE

  • In this article, some projection methods (or fractional-step methods) are proposed and analyzed for the micropolar Navier-Stokes equations (MNSE). These methods allow us to decouple the MNSE system into two sub-problems at each timestep, one is the linear and angular velocities system, the other is the pressure system. Both first-order and second-order projection methods are considered. For the classical first-order projection scheme, the stability and error estimates for the linear and angular velocities and the pressure are established rigorously. In addition, a modified first-order projection scheme which leads to some improved error estimates is also proposed and analyzed. We also present the second-order projection method which is unconditionally stable. Ample numerical experiments are performed to confirm the theoretical predictions and demonstrate the efficiency of the methods.

평행투영 기반의 고해상도 위성영상 에피폴라 재배열 (Epipolar Resampling for High Resolution Satellite Imagery Based on Parallel Projection)

  • 선형 CCD 센서에 의해 획득되는 위성영상의 기하는 프레임 카메라 영상의 기하와는 차이점을 가지고 있다. 이는 각 스캔 선마다 영상의 외부표정요소가 다르기 때문에 발생한다. 따라서 기존의 프레임 영상에 사용되었던 에피폴라 기하와는 다른 기하가 필요하게 된다. 이와 같은 관점에서, 본 연구에서는 대표적인 선형 CCD 센서를 사용하여 촬영된 IKONOS 위성영상을 이용하여 에피폴라 영상을 제작하기 위한 영상 재배열 방법에 대한 연구를 수행하였으며, 영상의 투영조건을 중심투영이 아닌 평행투영으로 간주하여 구성된 2D 부등각 센서모델을 적용하였다. 이센서 모델에 의해 구성된 에피폴라 선식으로부터 유도된 정규 매개변수와 부등각 변환을 적용하여 에피폴라 재배열영상을 제작하였다. 결과로써, 2D 부등각 센서모델의 정확도가 검증되었으며, 제작된 에피폴라 영상을 사용하여 추출된 3차원 위치정확도는 IKONOS의 RFM 위치정확도와 유사하게 도출되었다.
