The matrix inversion is very inefficient for computing direct solutions of the large spare systems of linear equations that arise in many network problems as a large electrical power system. Optimally ordered triangular factorization of sparse matrices is more efficient and offers the other important computational advantages in some applications with this method. The direct solutions are computed from sparse matrix factors instead of a full inverse matrix, thereby gaining a significant advantage is speed and computer memory requirements. In this paper, it is shown that the sparse matrix method is superior to the inverse matrix method to solve the linear equations of large sparse networks. In addition, it is shown that the sparse matrix method is superior to the inverse matrix method to solve the linear equations of large sparse networks. In addition, it is shown that the solutions may be applied directly to sove the load flow in an electrical power system. The result of this study should lead to many aplications including short circuit, transient stability, network reduction, reactive optimization and others.
In this paper, a vibration suppression method using an energy stored in winding inductance and an induced voltage of the Linear Stepping Motor(LSM) is shown, and it is applied to a new one-phase excitation method. And a magnetic equivalent circuit is based on the structure of the LSM, and then the electric equivalent circuit of the LSM is derived by solving equations for the magnetic equivalent circuit. Several dynamic characteristics of the LSM are analyzed by the ACSL with the voltage equations, the force equations and the kinetic equation, and are measured by experimental system.

A Haar wavelet based numerical method for solving singularly perturbed linear time invariant system is presented in this paper. The reduced pure slow and pure fast subsystems are obtained by decoupling the singularly perturbed system and differential matrix equations are converted into algebraic Sylvester matrix equations via Haar wavelet technique. The operational matrix of integration and its inverse matrix are utilized to reduce the computational time to the solution of algebraic matrix equations. Finally a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed method.
In this paper we use measure theory to solve a wide range of second-order boundary value ordinary differential equations. First, we transform the problem to a first order system of ordinary differential equations(ODE's)and then define an optimization problem related to it. The new problem in modified into one consisting of the minimization of a linear functional over a set of Radon measures; the optimal measure is then approximated by a finite combination of atomic measures and the problem converted approximatly to a finite-dimensional linear programming problem. The solution to this problem is used to construct the approximate solution of the original problem. Finally we get the error functional E(we define in this paper) for the approximate solution of the ODE's problem.
This paper is concerned with the solution of ill-conditioned Systems of Linear Equations (SLE's) via the solution of equivalent SLE's which are well-conditioned. A matrix is rst constructed from that of the given ill-conditioned system. Then, an adequate right-hand side is computed to make up the instance of an equivalent system. Formulae and algorithms for computing an instance of this equivalent SLE and solving it will be given and illustrated.
In this paper, we introduce linear approximate Henstock integral equations that is slightly different from linear Henstock integral equations, and we also offer an example which shows that some integral equation has a solution in the sense of the approximate Henstock integral but does not have any solutions in the sense of the Henstock integral. Furthermore, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of solution of the approximate Henstock integral equation.
In this study, nonlinear transverse vibrations of tensioned Euler-Bernoulli nanobeams are studied. The nonlinear equations of motion including stretching of the neutral axis and axial tension are derived using nonlocal beam theory. Forcing and damping effects are included in the equations. Equation of motion is made dimensionless via dimensionless parameters. A perturbation technique, the multiple scale methods is employed for solving the nonlinear problem. Approximate solutions are applied for the equations of motion. Natural frequencies of the nanobeams for the linear problem are found from the first equation of the perturbation series. From nonlinear term of the perturbation series appear as corrections to the linear problem. The effects of the various axial tension parameters and different nonlocal parameters as well as effects of different boundary conditions on the vibrations are determined. Nonlinear frequencies are estimated; amplitude-phase modulation figures are presented for simple-simple and clamped-clamped cases.
This paper presents a simple n-order four variable refined theory for buckling analysis of functionally graded plates. By dividing the transverse displacement into bending and shear parts, the number of unknowns and governing equations of the present theory is reduced, and hence, makes it simple to use. The present theory is variationally consistent, uses the n-order polynomial term to represent the displacement field, does not require shear correction factor, and eliminates the shear stresses at the top and bottom surfaces. A power law distribution is used to describe the variation of volume fraction of material compositions. Equilibrium and stability equations are derived based on the present n-order refined theory. The non-linear governing equations are solved for plates subjected to simply supported boundary conditions. The thermal loads are assumed to be uniform, linear and non-linear distribution through-the-thickness. The effects of aspect and thickness ratios, gradient index, on the critical buckling are all discussed.
In this study, linear vibrations of an axially moving beam under non-ideal support conditions have been investigated. The main difference of this study from the other studies; the non-ideal clamped support allow minimal rotations and non-ideal simple support carry moment in minimal orders. Axially moving Euler-Bernoulli beam has simple and clamped support conditions that are discussed as combination of ideal and non-ideal boundary with weighting factor (k). Equations of the motion and boundary conditions have been obtained using Hamilton's Principle. Method of Multiple Scales, a perturbation technique, has been employed for solving the linear equations of motion. Linear equations of motion are solved and effects of different parameters on natural frequencies are investigated.
A finite element formulation for the time-domain analysis of linear transient elastodynamic problems is presented based on the weak form obtained by applying the Galerkin's method to the integro-differential equations which contain the initial conditions implicitly and does not include the inertia terms. The weak form is extended temporally under the assumptions of the constant and linear time variations of field variables, since the time-stepping algorithms such as the Newmark method and the Wilson ${\theta}$-method are not necessary, obtaining two kinds of implicit finite element equations which are tested for numerical accuracy and convergency. Three classical examples having finite and infinite domains are solved and numerical results are compared with the other analytical and numerical solutions to show the versatility and accuracy of the presented formulation.
