This paper deals with the variation of the effective detectability factor fo logarithmic receiver in noise interference environment. The computed results as a function of maximum detection range and jamming range were compared with the effective detectability factor for linear receiver. Even though the logarithmic receiver has a wide dynamic characteristics, it is found that the effective detectability factor being reduced about 15% than the linear receiver at 100 KM range.
Recently high dynamic range imaging technique is hot issue in computer graphic area. We present a progressive tone mapping algorithm, which is based on weighted least squares optimization framework. Our approach combines weighted least squares filtering with iCAM06 model. To show more perceptual high dynamic range images in conventional display, we decompose high dynamic range image into base layers and detail layers. The base layers are obtained by using weighted least squares filter. Then, we adopt chromatic adaption function and non-linear compression function to deal with base layers. Only the base layers reduce contrast, and preserving detail. The image quality assessment shows that our tone mapped image is more similar to original high dynamic range image. Moreover, the subjective result shows our algorithm produces more reliable and pleasing image.

In this study optimal analysis of pipe network was performed using linear and non linear analysis method for complex real pipe network system of Mungyeong water purification field system which consists of 70 nodes and 86 elements. From the examination result of total flow which is distributed to each pipe, it is found that KYPIPE2 Model supplies less amount than NLAM. It is known that dynamic water level and pressure head of KYPIPE2 Model and NLAM are nearly in accordance with each other from each method of the pipe network analyses, and appeared that both methods of analysis shows high reliable result since the distribution of dynamic water level for every node is the short range of EL. 205.0m~EL. 210.0m besides the pressed dynamic water level. The analysis results of pressure in the methods of pipe network analysis for KYPIPE2 Model and NLAM are similar and it is satisfactory result that the pressure distributions of the tab water design criterion of 5.0kgf/cm$^2$ besides the small part of highland.
Using a strain-controlled rheometer [Advanced Rheometric Expansion System (ARES)], the steady shear flow properties and the dynamic viscoelastic properties of $Antiphlamine-S^{(R)}$ lotion have been measured at $20^{\circ}C$ (storage temperature) and $37^{\circ}C$ (body temperature). In this article, the temperature dependence of the linear viscoelastic behavior was firstly reported from the experimental data obtained from a temperature-sweep test. The steady shear flow behavior was secondly reported and then the effect of shear rate on this behavior was discussed in detail. In addition, several inelastic-viscoplastic flow models including a yield stress parameter were employed to make a quantitative evaluation of the steady shear flow behavior, and then the applicability of these models was examined by calculating the various material parameters. The angular frequency dependence of the linear viscoelastic behavior was nextly explained and quantitatively predicted using a fractional derivative model. Finally, the strain amplitude dependence of the dynamic viscoelastic behavior was discussed in full to elucidate a nonlinear rheological behavior in large amplitude oscillatory shear flow fields. Main findings obtained from this study can be summarized as follows : (1) The linear viscoelastic behavior is almostly independent of temperature over a temperature range of $15{\sim}40^{circ}C$. (2) The steady shear viscosity is sharply decreased as an increase in shear rate, demonstrating a pronounced Non-Newtonian shear-thinning flow behavior. (3) The shear stress tends to approach a limiting constant value as a decrease in shear rate, exhibiting an existence of a yield stress. (4) The Herschel-Bulkley, Mizrahi-Berk and Heinz-Casson models are all applicable and have an equivalent validity to quantitatively describe the steady shear flow behavior of $Antiphlamine-S^{(R)}$ lotion whereas both the Bingham and Casson models do not give a good applicability. (5) In small amplitude oscillatory shear flow fields, the storage modulus is always greater than the loss modulus over an entire range of angular frequencies tested and both moduli show a slight dependence on angular frequency. This means that the linear viscoelastic behavior of $Antiphlamine-S^{(R)}$ lotion is dominated by an elastic nature rather than a viscous feature and that a gel-like structure is present in this system. (6) In large amplitude oscillatory shear flow fields, the storage modulus shows a nonlinear strain-thinning behavior at strain amplitude range larger than 10 % while the loss modulus exhibits a weak strain-overshoot behavior up to a strain amplitude of 50 % beyond which followed by a decrease in loss modulus with an increase in strain amplitude. (7) At sufficiently large strain amplitude range (${\gamma}_0$>100 %), the loss modulus is found to be greater than the storage modulus, indicating that a viscous property becomes superior to an elastic character in large shear deformations.

This paper proposes an imputation method using a bidirectional k-nearest components search based local linear regression method. The bidirectional k-nearest-components search method selects components in the dynamic range from the missing points. Unlike the existing methods, which use a fixed-size window, the proposed method can flexibly select adjacent components in an imputation problem. The weight values assigned to the components around the missing points are calculated using local linear regression. The local linear regression method is free from the rank problem in a matrix of dependent variables. In addition, it can calculate the weight values that reflect the data flow in a specific environment, such as a blackout. The original missing values were estimated from a linear combination of the components and their weights. Finally, the estimated value imputes the missing values. In the experimental results, the proposed method outperformed the existing methods when the error between the original data and imputation data was measured using MAE and RMSE.
A new mixed approximation method is proposed for the model reduction of high order linear and time-invariant dynamic systems. This method makes allowance for stability and feature retention simultaneously. After defining dominant frequency range which affects relative stability of systems, a part of denominator is obtained using the energy dispersion method and tests are obtained using dominant frequency response matching method. The proposed method reflects the characteristic of the original system more faithfully and guarantees absolute stability of the reduction model.
A survey was made on detection limit, reproducibility, matrix effect, linear dynamic range and the memory effect of yttrium and europium in order to analyze rare earth elements which exist as impurities in the rare earth oxide which is raw materials of fluorescent substance. When analysing a certain amount of thulium quantitatively using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, it was found that the analysis was interfered with $EuO^+$ which is one of polyatomic ions caused by plasma. As the intensity of thulium linearly proportional to the europium concentration, it was possible to the determine the actual concentration of thulium.

The reliable seismic stability evaluation of the natural slopes and geotechnical structures has become a critical factor of the design. Pseudo-static or permanent displacement methods are typically employed to evaluate the seismic slope performance. In both methods, the effect of input ground motion on the sliding surface is ignored, and failure surface from the limit equilibrium method is used. For the assessment of the seismic sensitivity of failure surface, two-dimensional non-linear finite element analyses are performed. The performance of the finite element model was validated against centrifuge measurements. A parametric study with a range of input ground motion was performed, and numerical results were used to assess the influence of ground motion characteristics on the sliding surface. Based on the results, it is demonstrated that the characteristics of input ground motion have a significant influence on the location of the seismically induce failure surface. In addition to dynamic analysis, pseudo-static analyses were performed to evaluate the discrepancy. It is observed that sliding surfaces developed from pseudo-static and dynamic analyses are different. The location of the failure surface change with the amplitude and Tm of motion. Therefore, it is recommended to determine failure surfaces from dynamic analysis
Nonlinear aeroelastic analyses of composite wing with flap are performed considering free-play and dynamic stiffness of actuator. Doublet-Hybrid method is used for the calculation of subsonic unsteady aerodynamic forces. Free-play is modeled as a bilinear spring and is linearized by using the describing function method. Dynamic stiffness is obtained from governing equation of gear system and the aeroelastic analyses were performed according to ply-angle of laminate and material. The linear and nonlinear flutter analysis results show that the flutter characteristics are significantly dependent on the free-play and dynamic stiffness. from the nonlinear flutter analysis, various types of limit cycle oscillations are observed in a range of air speeds below or above the linear divergent flutter boundary.
This study was performed to determine the kinetic friction coefficient bulk density, dynamic and static angle of repose, and terminal velocity of the chopped rice straw in the moisture range of 8~23%, which could be used for better design and operation of the processing machinery and handling facilities. Friction coefficient was determined from the horizontal traction force measured by pulling the container holding the mass of rice straw on the various plate materials. Bulk density was measured with an apparatus consisting of a filling funnel and a receiving vessel. Dynamic angle of repose was calculated from the photos of bulk samples piled by gravity flow on a circular platform. Static angle of repose was determined by measuring the side angle of the bulk material which was left in the cylindrical container after natural discharge of the bulk sample through a circular hole in the bottom plate. Kinetic friction coefficients of rice straw on the PVC, mild steel, stainless steel, and galvanized steel were in the range of 0.303~0.434, 0.222~0.439, 0.204~0.448, and 0.206~0.407, respectively. and indicated linear increase with moisture content. The effects of moisture change on the friction coefficients were in the order of PVC, mild steel, galvanized steel, and stainless steel. Bulk density, dynamic and static angle of repose, and terminal velocity were in the range of 56.8~60.3 kg/m$^3$, 41.4~45.9$^{\circ}$, 94.4~100.8$^{\circ}$, and 1.07~4.48 m/s, respectively, and were increased linearly with the moisture content.
