Identification theory for linear discrete system has been presented by a great many reference, but research works for identification of continuous-time system are less than preceding identification. In fact, a great man), systems for engineering are continuous-time systems, hence, research for identification of continuous-time system has important meaning. This paper offers the following results: 1. Corresponding relations for the parameters of continuous-time model and discrete model may be shown, when single input-output system has general characteristic roots. 2. To do identification of single variable continuity linear system with stability constraints from samples of input-output data, it is necessary to use optimization with stability constraints. 3. Main results of this paper may be explained by a simple example.
The Tribonacci sequence ${\{T_n}\}_{n{\geq}0}$ resembles the Fibonacci sequence in that it starts with the values 0, 1, 1, and each term afterwards is the sum of the preceding three terms. In this paper, we find all integers c having at least two representations as a difference between a Tribonacci number and a power of 2. This paper continues the previous work [5].

Analyses of dynamic models which were one and two degrees of freedom, and had the nonlinear springs and dampings with certain polynomial functions were performed from SIMULINK in MATLAB. Those consisted of 12 programs and were built on the basis of the preceding programs fur the linear dynamic simulations. However the programs for the nonlinear simulations were quite different from those f3r the linear ones, and showed the results of the analyses in real time with animating. It was found that the programs would help us to solve any kind of nonlinear dynamic simulation with one and two degrees of freedom. Especially, the simulations for 1 DOF system with cubic nonlinear spring farce showed the results for Duffing's equation, of which phenomena were jump-up and jump-down. It will be applied to the dynamic simulation of the car seat vibration with a passenger, of which model has the equivalent nonlinear springs and is two degrees of freedom.

In shallow water environment, the detection performance of an active sonar using matched filter with LFM(linear frequency modulation) pulse can be seriously degraded by reverberation which is considered as non-white noise. To reduce the effect of reverberation, a whitening filter preceding the matched fitter, is usually adopted. In the conventional pre-whitening filter, it is assumed that local stationarity is preserved between detection block and its right ahead block. And then by using the characteristics of the reverberation of preceding block, the reverberation of detection block is estimated and whitened. According to the environment of shallow water, the stationarity of reverberation may be preserved for more blocks. In this case, the reverberation of the detection block can be estimated more accurately if more blocks are used. In this paper, the real reverberation signal which is obtained from shallow sea is analyzed and its proper region of estimation block is examined. And the performance of pre-whitening matched filter is compared and analyzed according to the region of estimation block.

Construction projects have become so large, complicated and incredibly high-tech that process management is currently considered one of the most important issues. Unlike typical manufacturing industries, most major construction activities are performed in the open air and thus are exposed to various environmental factors. Many studies have been conducted with the goal of establishing efficient techniques and tools for overcoming these limitations. Productivity analysis and prediction, one of the related research subjects, must be considered when evaluating approaches to reducing construction duration and costs. The aim of this research is to present a quantified impact analysis of construction delay factors on construction productivity of a steel staircase system, which has been widely applied to high rise building construction. It is also expected to improve the process by managing the factors, ultimately achieving an improvement in construction productivity. To achieve the research objectives, this paper analyzed different delay factors affecting construction duration by means of multiple regression analysis focusing on steel staircase systems, which have critical effects on the preceding and subsequent processes in structure construction. Statistical analysis on the multiple linear regression model indicated that the environment, labor and material delay factors were statistically significant, with 0.293, 0.491, and 0.203 as the respective quantified impacts on productivity.
Radiation detection systems working at high count rates suffer from the overlapping of their output electric pulses, known as pulse pile-up phenomenon, resulting in spectrum distortion and degradation of the energy resolution. Pulse tail extrapolation is a pile-up correction method which tries to restore the shifted baseline of a piled-up pulse by extrapolating the overlapped part of its preceding pulse. This needs a mathematical model which is almost always nonlinear, fitted usually by a nonlinear least squares (NLS) technique. NLS is an iterative, potentially time-consuming method. The main idea of the present study is to replace the NLS technique by an integration-based non-iterative method (NIM) for pulse tail extrapolation by an exponential model. The idea of linear extrapolation, as another non-iterative method, is also investigated. Analysis of experimental data of a NaI(Tl) radiation detector shows that the proposed non-iterative method is able to provide a corrected spectrum quite similar with the NLS method, with a dramatically reduced computation time and complexity of the algorithm. The linear extrapolation approach suffers from a poor energy resolution and throughput rate in comparison with NIM and NLS techniques, but provides the shortest computation time.
Recent denaturation experiments of bacteriorhodopsin (bR) in the dark and under illumination at high temperatures revealed that irreversible thermal bleaching occurs above ~ 70°C and the preceding reversible structural changes in the dark above 60°C are closely related to irreversible photobleaching observed in the same temperature range (Yokoyama et al. (2002). J Biochem. 131,785). In this study, structural properties of bacteriorhodopsin (bR) at high temperatures were extensively probed by hydroxylamine reactivity with the Schiff base in the dark and hydrogen-deuterium (H-D) exchange in the peptide groups. In the Arrhenius plot from kinetics measurements of the hydroxylamine reaction, a good linear relationship between the reaction time constant and the inverse of the absolute temperature was observed below 60°C, while significant increase started above 60°C, suggesting that remarkable increase in water accessibility of the Schiff base in the temperature region. FT-IR spectroscopic studies on the H-D exchange suggested increase in the deuterium exchanges rate of the peptide hydrogen in the same temperature region.

The BLAST-OFDM system is an efficient method for high data rate multimedia transmission in futurewireless communication system. In this paper, a linear preceding mechanism and an efficient antenna-subcarrier assignment algorithm are proposed for the conventional BLAST-OFDM system, in order to utilize the full spatial diversity and the interleaved frequency diversity. By computer simulation, the proposed system has proved to achieve 4-5㏈ gain over the conventional BLAST-OFDM system.

The degree of contamination on outdoor insulator is ons of the most importance factor to determine the pollution level of outdoor insulation, and the sea salt is known as the most dangerous pollutant. As shown through the preceding study, the generation of salt pollutant and the pollution degree of outdoor insulator have a close relation with meteorological conditions, such as wind velocity, wind direction, precipitation and so fourth. So, in this paper, we made an investigation on the prediction method, a statistical estimation technique for equivalent salt deposit density of outdoor insulator with multiple linear regression analysis. From the results of the analysis, we proved the superiority of the prediction method in which the variables had a very close(about 0.9) correlation coefficient. And the results could be applied to establish the Pollution Prediction System for power utilities, and the system could provide an invaluable information for the design and maintenance of outdoor insulation system.

The paper considers empirical Bayes (EB) and hierarchical Bayes (HB) predictors of the finite population mean under a linear regression model with measurement errors We discuss how to calculate the mean squared prediction errors of the EB predictors using jackknife methods and the posterior standard deviations of the HB predictors based on the Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods. A simulation study is provided to illustrate the results of the preceding sections and compare the performances of the proposed procedures.
