CORRELATION FUNCTIONS OF THE APM CLUSTERS OF GALAXIES

  • We have found that the two-point correlation function of the APM clusters of galaxies has an amplitude much higher than that claimed by the APM group. As the richness limit increases from R = 53 to 80, the correlation length increases from 17.5 to 28.9 $h^{-1}Mpc$. This indicates that the richness dependence of the APM cluster correlation function is also much stronger than what the APM group has reported. The richness dependence can be represented by a fitting formula ro = 0.53dc + 0.01, which is consistent with the Bahcall's formula ro = 0.4dc. We have tried to find the possible reason for discrepancies. However, our estimates for the APM cluster correlation function are found to be robust against variation of the method of calculation and of sample definition.

The Inverse Laplace Transform of a Wide Class of Special Functions

  • The aim of the present work is to obtain the inverse Laplace transform of the product of the factors of the type $s^{-\rho}\prod\limit_{i=1}^{\tau}(s^{li}+{\alpha}_i)^{-{\sigma}i}$, a general class of polynomials an the multivariable H-function. The polynomials and the functions involved in our main formula as well as their arguments are quite general in nature. On account of the general nature of our main findings, the inverse Laplace transform of the product of a large variety of polynomials and numerous simple special functions involving one or more variables can be obtained as simple special cases of our main result. We give here exact references to the results of seven research papers that follow as simple special cases of our main result.

  • A* 알고리즘은 잘 알려진 길찾기 알고리즘이다. 그러나 많은 상호 작용이 있거나 많은 장애물들이 있는 맵에서 A* 알고리즘을 실시간에 사용하는데 한계가 있을 수 있다. 그래서 게임에서는 최단의 경로를 찾는 대신에 게임 플레이어에게 자연스럽게 보이는 경로를 빠르게 찾을 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 경로 정보를 사용하는 새로운 휴리스틱 함수를 제안하고, 제안한 휴리스틱 함수를 이용한 길찾기 알고리즘이 다양한 그리드 맵에서 A* 알고리즘보다 상당히 빠르게 경로를 찾을 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

  • This paper presents VSCOPF(Votage Stability Constrained Optimal Power Flow) algorithm based on SLP(Successive Linear Programming) to interpret the large scale system. Voltage stability index used to this paper is L index to be presented by function form. The objective function consists of load shedding cost minimization. Voltage stability indicator constraint was incorporated in traditional OPF formulation. as well as the objective function and constraints are linearlized and the optimal problem is performed by SLP(Successive Linear Programming). In this paper, the effect of voltage stability limit constraint is showed in the optimal load curtailment problems. As a result, an optimal solution is calculated to minimize load shedding cost guaranteeing voltage security level. Numerical examples using IEEE 39-bus system is also presented to illustrate the capabilities of the proposed formulation.

응답량 재사용을 통한 순차 근사최적설계 (A Sequential Approximate Optimization Technique Using the Previous Response Values)

  • A general approximate optimization technique by sequential design domain(SDD) did not save response values for getting an approximate function in each step. It has a disadvantage at aspect of an expense. In this paper, previous response values are recycled for constructing an approximate function. For this reason, approximation function is more accurate. Accordingly, even if we did not determine move limit, a system is converged to the optimal design. Size and shape optimization using approximate optimization technique is carried out with SDD. Algorithm executing Pro/Engineer and ANSYS are automatically adopted in the approximate optimization program by SDD. Convergence criterion is defined such that optimal point must be located within SDD during the three steps. The PLBA(Pshenichny-Lim-Belegundu-Arora) algorithm is used to solve approximate optimization problems. This algorithm uses the second-order information in the direction finding problem and uses the active set strategy.

  • The performance measurement of construction projects has traditionally been evaluated as a prerequisite for successful project completion. Considering this importance, the UK and the US are operating quantitative performance measurement systems for construction projects. However, in the case of Korea, there is a limit to the use of existing methods due to the limitation of data collection. Recently, in consideration of the domestic situation, research is being conducted to measure the quantitative performance of a project by using big data including progress and project attribute information. Therefore, this study aims to present the design direction of a performance monitoring system using Quality Function Deployment.

  • DC-DC 컨버터는 인덕터 전류의 동작에 따라 연속전류모드와 불연속전류모드, 임계모드로 나눌 수 있다. 임계모드는 연속전류모드와 불연속전류모드의 경계에서 동작한다. DC-DC 컨버터를 임계모드에서 동작하도록 설계하면 인덕터 크기를 줄일 수 있으며 ZCS(Zero Current Switching) 동작을 하여 스위치와 다이오드의 전력 손실을 줄일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 임계모드로 동작하는 부스트형 컨버터를 인공위성 용 태양전력 조절기에 적용한다. 임계모드 동작 시 DC-DC 컨버터의 입출력 조건에 따라 DC-DC 컨버터의 스위칭 주파수가 변한다. 최대 스위칭 주파수 제한을 위해 스위칭 주파수 제한 로직을 적용하였다. 한편, 임계모드 부스트형 태양전력 조절기는 소신호 전달함수가 간단하여 제어기 설계가 용이하다. 임계모드 부스트형 태양전력 조절기의 소신호 전달함수를 유도하고 이를 바탕으로 전압제어기를 설계하였다. 최종적으로 모의실험을 통해 임계모드로 동작하는 태양전력 조절기를 검증하였다.

Fuzzy reliability analysis of laminated composites

  • The strength behaviors of Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP) Composites can be greatly influenced by the properties of constitutive materials, the laminate structures, and load conditions etc, accompanied by many uncertainty factors. So the reliability study on FRP is an important subject of research. Many achievements have been made in reliability studies based on the probability theory, but little has been done on the roles played by fuzzy variables. In this paper, a fuzzy reliability model for FRP laminates is established first, in which the loads are considered as random variables and the strengths as fuzzy variables. Then a numerical model is developed to assess the fuzzy reliability. The Monte Carlo simulation method is utilized to compute the reliability of laminas under the maximum stress criterion. In the second part of this paper, a generalized fuzzy reliability model (GFRM) is proposed. By virtue of the fact that there may exist a series of states between the failure state and the function state, a fuzzy assumption for the structure state together with the probabilistic assumption for strength parameters is adopted to construct the GFRM of composite materials. By defining a generalized limit state function, the problem is converted to the conventional reliability formula that enables the first-order reliability method (FORM) applicable in calculating the reliability index. Several examples are worked out to show the validity of the models and the efficiency of the methods proposed in this paper. The parameter sensitivity analysis shows that some of the mean values of the strength parameters have great influence on the laminated composites' reliability. The differences resulting from the application of different failure criteria and different fuzzy assumptions are also discussed. It is concluded that the GFRM is feasible to use, and can provide an effective and synthetic method to evaluate the reliability of a system with different types of uncertainty factors.

유비쿼티스 환경의 접근제어를 위한 확장된 GTRBAC 모델 (Extended GTRBAC Model for Access Control Enforcement in Ubiquitous Environments)

  • 기존의 접근제어 모델들은 유비쿼터스 환경의 접근제어를 위하여 필요한 시간 제약에 따른 자원의 사용 제한 기능, 역할 계층에서 상위 역할로의 제한적 상속 기능, 정교한 위임 정책, 사용자의 위치에 따른 자원의 사용 제한 기능을 제공하지 않는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 시간(기간과 주기)에 따른 제약으로 자원의 사용을 제한할 수 있는 GTRBAC 모델에 부역할 개념과 PBDM 개념을 적용하고 사용자의 위치정보를 임시 제약 조건으로 고려하여 유비쿼터스 환경의 접근제어에 적합한 확장된 GTRBAC모델을 제안한다. 제안 모델은 부역할을 사용하여 역할 계층에서 권한의 상속을 제한할 수 있고, 사용자 대 사용자 위임, 역할 대 역할 위임, 다단계 위임, 다중 위임과 같은 정교한 위임 정책을 제공하며, 사용자의 위치 정보를 임시 제약 조건으로 고려하여 유비쿼터스 환경의 특성에 맞는 다양하고 정교한 접근제어 정책을 적용할 수 있도록 한다.

Experimental Study on Axial Stratification Process and Its Effects (I) - Stratification in Engine -

  • This paper is the first of several companion papers, which investigate axial stratification process and its effects in an Sl engine. The axial stratification is very sophisticate phenomenon, which results from combination of fuel injection, port and in-cylinder flow and mixing. Because of the inherent unsteady condition in the reciprocating engine, it Is impossible to understand the mechanism through the analytical method. In this paper, the ports were characterized by swir and tumble number in steady flow bench test. After this, lean misfire limit of the engines, which had different port characteristic, were investigated as a function of swirl ratio and injection timing for confirming the existence of stratification. In addition, gas fuel was used for verifying whether this phenomenon depends on bulk air motion of cylinder or on evaporation of fuel. High-speed gas sampling and analysis was also performed to estimate stratification charging effect. The results show that the AFR at the spark plug and LML are very closely related and the AFR is the results of bulk air motion.
