Differences in Functional Materials between White and Black Rice Varieties

  • Rice is the world's three major crops that is the staple food of Asian. Japonica type rice is consumed in Korea. Rice cultivation area decreases steadily. That is affected by decrease of the farm income with the inventory of 1.7 million tons, which is 2 to 3 times more than the optimal amount due to the decrease in the consumption of rice per person and cultivate high yield varieties. In recent years, as income level has improved, interest in health has been high and consumption for health food has been steadily increasing. For health food, rice is added by adding grains such as millet, sorghum, oats, beans and colored rice rather than white rice. In 1997, RDA(Rural Development Administration) developed black rice 'Heuknambyeo', and then 20 varieties were bred until 2017. In CBARES(Chungbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services), we have developed new rice varieties 'Cheongpungheukchal' in 2010, 'Cheongpungheukhyangchal' in 2014, 'Cheongpungheukchal' is high in farming preference because of high yield. Black rice has high content of GABA and water-soluble phenol, DPPH radical scavenging activity, and consumers are interested in the function in the body. Therefore, functional and antioxidant activities(anthocyanin, total polyphenol, ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ inhibition) and antioxidant activities(ABTs, DPPH) were analyzed by comparing white and black rice. Testing varieties are 'Chucheongbyeo', best quality cultivars 'Daebo' and 'Samgwang' as white rice which are cultivated much in Chungbuk area, and black rice are 10 varieties including 'Cheongpungheukchal', 'Cheongpungheukhyangchal', 'Josaengheukchal' and so on. It has transplanted on 25th May, at CBARES research paddy by 100% fertilizer recommendation rate. Harvesting time was 50 days after heading by varieties, and has researched growth properties, yield and yield components, functional and antioxidant activities. Anthocyanin content was not measured because there was no pigmented in white rice, the highest value of anthocyanin content was 'Shintoheukmi' and in the range of 125.6~249.6mg/100g by black rice varieties. Total polyphenol content was high 'Cheongpungheukchal' and 'Shintoheukmi' and in the range of 96.68~244.34 mg/100g in black rice, white rice lower than blackish rice at 19.84~22.51mg/100g. ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ inhibition was high 'Cheongpungheukchal', 'Cheongpungheukhyangchal' and 'Shintoheukmi' in the rage of 75.87~98.85% by black rice varieties, especially 'Samgwang' was 80.75% and the other white rice was higher than 58~68%.

가족 가치관이 암환아 가족의 적응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Family Value on Family Adaptation in Family Who has a Child with Cancer)

  • As a family respond to any stressful situation as a whole system, cancer diagnosis of a child, as a serious life event, could be emotional shock to destroy homeostasis of the family system. A family has a resilient capacity to adjust and adapt to stressful events. Previous studies have been focused on family stress and adaptation, but little attention has been given to family value as one of resilient factors. The data for model testing were collected from July 18, 2000 to August 30, 2000 and the analysis included 309 parents of children who are diagnosed as cancer, 18 or less years of age, and treated either hospitalized or at the outpatient clinics. The data analysis utilized SAS 6.12 and LISREL 8 for descriptive statistics, correlation, cluster analysis, factor analysis, and LISREL. The study findings are as follows. 1) Monthly income (γ=-0.28, t=-5.81) was the most important factor to explain family strain along with family support (γ=-0.11, t=-2.43), severity of children's illness (γ=0.26, t=5.22), and family stressor (γ=0.22, t=4.62). All of these factors together explained 40% of variance in family strain. 2) Among general family value, the relationship with the parents (γ=0.28, t=4.89) and relationship with the children (γ=0.20, t=3.60) showed positive effects to family value for cancer children, while relationship with the spouse (γ=-0.19, t=-3.22) and the age of the cancer children (γ=-0.11, t=-2.21) showed negative effects. These predictors together explained 22% of variance in family value for cancer children. 3) Family hardiness was explained mostly by family strain (γ=-0.53, t=-8.65) along with direct negative effects of family persistency and indirect negative effects of severity of children's illness, family stressor, relationship with the spouse, and the children's age. Family value for cancer children was the most important predictor with positive effect (γ=0.44, t=6.76) along with indirect effects of monthly income, relationship with the parents, relationship with the children, support from family and significant others, and confidence with the health professionals. 51% of variance in family hardiness was explained by all of these predictors. 4) The most important predictor for family adaptation was family stressor (γ=-0.50, t=-6.85) with direct and indirect negative effects along with the severity of children's illness (γ=-0.27, t=-5.21). However, family value for cancer children showed compromised total effect (γ=-0.13, t=-1.99) with negative direct effects (γ=-0.28, t=-3.43) and positive indirect effects (γ=0.14, t=3.01). Similarly, confidence with the health professionals also showed compromised total effect (γ=0.09, t=1.99) with positive direct effects and negative indirect effects. Family hardiness showed the biggest positive direct effects while other factors such as monthly income, family stressor, family persistence, support of family and significant others, relationship with the parents, relationship with the children, and relationship with the spouse, and children's age showed indirect effects only. 39% of variance in family adaptation was explained by all of these predictors.

만성 피로증후군 (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome)

  • 만성 피로증후군은 인지능력 감소, 근골격 및 수면 장애증상을 가지며 심한 피로감을 특징으로 하는 증상군을 말한다. 아직 명확한 진단기법이나 확립된 표식자가 없으며, 타질환을 배제한 후 증상기준에 따라 진단하고 있다. 병태생리도 명확한 인과관계가 증명되지 않고 있으며 치료 역시 환자의 증상개선과 삶의 질 향상을 목표로 여러 방법을 동원하고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 대조군과 비교한 많은 연구들에서 중추신경계, 신경호르몬 조절 시스템 및 만성 면역 활성 등의 이상이 보고되고 있으며, 이러한 결과들을 근거로 현재 다양한 치료방법이 동원되고 있다. 또한 이 증후군은 가족력의 가능성이 크므로 향후 유전 및 환경적 요인에 관한 연구가 활발해질 것으로 보인다. 대부분의 환자들은 우울증이나 범불안 장애 등을 동반하고 있으며, 이들이 병태생리와 관련 있을 가능성도 크다고 볼 수 있다. 결론적으로 이 증후군은 개인의 유전적 요소에 생리학적, 정신적 요인과 더불어 영양, 생활습관, 스트레스, 호르몬 등의 다양한 요인들이 복합적으로 상호 작용하여 만성적인 피로감과 다양한 증상을 나타내는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 환자-의사간 긴밀한 관계를 바탕으로 약물 및 비약물요법과 인지요법, 단계적 운동요법 등 효과가 인정된 치료방법을 꾸준히 사용하면 증상개선과 삶의 질 향상에 도움이 될 것으로 생각한다.

Low-dose of organic trace minerals reduced fecal mineral excretion without compromising performance of laying hens

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of low doses of organic trace minerals (iron, copper, manganese, and zinc) on productive performance, egg quality, yolk and tissue mineral retention, and fecal mineral excretion of laying hens during the late laying period. Methods: A total of 405 healthy hens (HY-Line White, 50-week-old) were randomly divided into 3 treatments, with 9 replicates per treatment and 15 birds per replicate. The dietary treatments included feeding a basal diet + inorganic trace minerals at commercial levels (CON), a basal diet + inorganic trace minerals at 1/3 commercial levels (ITM), and a basal diet + proteinated trace minerals at 1/3 commercial levels (TRT). The trial lasted for 56 days. Results: Compared to CON, ITM decreased (p<0.05) egg production, daily egg mass, albumen height, eggshell strength, yolk Fe concentration, serum alkaline phosphatase activity and total protein, and increased (p<0.05) egg loss and feed to egg ratio. Whereas with productive performance, egg quality, yolk mineral retention, and serum indices there were no differences (p>0.05) between CON and TRT. The concentrations of Fe and Mn in the tissue and tibia were changed notably in ITM relative to CON and TRT. Both ITM and TRT reduced (p<0.05) fecal mineral excretion compared to CON. Conclusion: These results indicate that dietary supplementation of low-dose organic trace minerals reduced fecal mineral excretion without negatively impacting hen performance and egg quality.

농업·농촌 공익형 직불제 상호준수의무 우선순위 결정 (Priority Decision of Cross-Compliance of Public-Benefit Direct Payment for Agriculture and Rural Area)

  • 현재 정부는 공익형 직불제를 통해 농업의 공익적 기능을 제고하기 위해 노력하고 있지만, 상호준수의무 세부항목에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 평가기준을 이용한 정량적 연구방법인 계층화 분석법과 퍼지 다기준 의사결정법을 이용하여 공익형 직불제 상호준수의무의 우선순위를 결정하고 정책적 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 평가기준은 정책의 효율성, 농가수용성, 실행가능성이고, 평가 대상은 기본형 상호준수의무 후보와 부가형 상호준수의무 후보이다. 조사대상은 사회과학계(16명), 자연과학계(15명), 정책 및 언론단체(13명), 농업인 단체(6명)의 전문가 50명이며, 2019년 7월부터 약 한 달간 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석결과 평가기준의 가중치는 농가수용성, 실행가능성, 정책의 효율성 순으로 높게 나타났다. 기본형 상호준수의무의 우선순위는 PLS 기준준수, 폐비닐 및 농약병 폐기준수, 토양검정실시, 유해물질 허용 기준 준수, 교육이수 항목 등이 높게 평가되었다. 부가형 상호준수의무는 미사용지하수 관정 폐공처리, 농업부산물 공동수거 및 처리, 공동공간 관리 및 청소, 빈집 및 불량시설 정비, 휴경기 녹비작불 재배 및 토양환원 항목 등이 높은 순위로 평가되었다. 본 연구는 공익형 직불제의 개편과 함께 논의되고 있는 상호준수의무의 우선순위를 정량적인 방법으로 결정하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 향후 공익형 직불제의 상호준수의무 도입을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

편심회전축 기반의 전기기계식 제동장치의 피로수명 해석 (Fatigue Analysis for Electro-Mechanical Brake Caliper based on Eccentric Rotating Shaft)

  • 전기기계식 제동장치(EMB : Electro-Mechanical Brake)는 자동차 및 철도차량의 차세대 제동장치로서 현재 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 현재의 철도차량용 제동장치는 공압 실린더를 이용하여 제동 압부력을 발생시키나 전기기계식 제동장치 (EMB)에서는 전기 모터 및 기어와의 조합을 통하여 압부력을 발생시킨다. 본 연구에서는 고압부력 발생이 가능한 편심회전축 기반의 전기기계식 제동장치에 대한 유한요소 모델링 및 내구 수명해석을 통하여 국내 기준에 부합하는 전기기계식 제동장치의 설계를 진행하였다. 이때 내구수명해석의 정확도를 향상하기 위하여 시제품에 사용되는 소재와 동일한 열처리 등을 거친 피로시험 시편을 3종을 제작하여 소재별로 피로시험을 진행하였다. 각각의 소재에 대한 피로시험 결과로부터 피로물성치(응력-수명 선도)를 획득하여 해석모델에 반영하였다. 피로해석 결과로부터 EMB 시제품의 설계가 국내 철도차량용 내구수명 조건인 상용최대 제동/완해 53 만회를 만족할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 이 설계를 바탕으로 시제품을 제작하고 내구시험을 완료하여 개발된 시제품의 내구성 특성을 입증할 계획이다.

베이비부머의 자기효능감, 사회적 자본, 경제적 준비도가 창업의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Baby Boomer's Self-Efficacy, Social Capital, and Economic Preparation on Entrepreneurial Intention)

  • 베이비부머들의 대량 은퇴를 맞이하여 이들의 진로 전환이나 창업이 새로운 연구 과제로 부각되고 있다. 본 연구는 은퇴를 시작한 베이비부머들이 인생 2막으로 시작하는 창업에 대해 연구를 한 것이다. 베이비부머들의 창업의도에 영향을 미칠 요인들을 중심으로 연구 모형을 구성하였다. 연구 모형을 검정하기 위해 베이비부머를 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며, 그중 유효한 204명을 분석의 대상으로 삼았다. 가설 검정은 AMOS 23 통계 패키지를 활용하여 구조방정식으로 하였다. 가설 검정 결과 베이비부머의 창업과 관련한 자기효능감, 사회적 자본은 창업의도에 정(+)의 유의한 영향 관계가 있었다. 경제적 준비도는 창업의도에 유의한 부(-)의 영향 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 자본이 베이비부머의 창업의도에 가장 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 성취 경험이나 롤 모델 학습 경험 등이 자기효능감에 영향을 미치는 선행 변수였다. 이들의 관계를 검정한 결과 성취 경험, 롤 모델 학습 경험은 자기효능감에 정(+)의 유의한 영향 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 학술적 시사점과 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다.

Effects of Newly Synthesized Recombinant Human Amyloid-β Complexes and Poly-Amyloid-β Fibers on Cell Apoptosis and Cognitive Decline

  • The main pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's disease is the deposition of amyloid-beta ($A{\beta}$) peptides in the brain. $A{\beta}$ has been widely used to mimic several aspects of Alzheimer's disease. However, several characteristics of amyloid-induced Alzheimer's disease pathology are not well established, especially in mice. The present study aimed to develop a new Alzheimer's disease model by investigating how $A{\beta}$ can be effectively aggregated using prokaryotes and eukaryotes. To express the $A{\beta}42$ complex in HEK293 cells, we cloned the $A{\beta}42$ region in a tandem repeat and incorporated the resulting construct into a eukaryotic expression vector. Following transfection into HEK293 cells via lipofection, cell viability assay and western blotting analysis revealed that exogenous $A{\beta}42$ can induce cell death and apoptosis. In addition, recombinant His-tagged $A{\beta}42$ was successfully expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) and not only readily formed $A{\beta}$ complexes, but also inhibited the proliferation of SH-SY5Y cells and E. coli. For in vivo testing, recombinant His-tagged $A{\beta}42$ solution ($3{\mu}g/{\mu}l$ in $1{\times}PBS$ containing $1mM\;Ni^{2+}$) was injected stereotaxically into the left and right lateral ventricles of the brains of C57BL/6J mice (n = 8). Control mice were injected with $1{\times}PBS$ containing $1mM\;Ni^{2+}$ following the same procedure. Ten days after the sample injection, the Morris water maze test confirmed that exogenous $A{\beta}$ caused an increase in memory loss. These findings demonstrated that $Ni^{2+}$ is capable of complexing the 50-kDa amyloid and that intracerebroventricular injection of $A{\beta}42$ can lead to cognitive impairment, thereby providing improved Alzheimer's disease models.

방사성의약품 검사 시 진단(CT)영상에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Diagnostic Radiology Image on Radiopharmaceutical Testing)

  • This research attempts to qualitatively evaluate the intensity change by radiopharmaceuticals and obtain computed tomography using phantom injected with various nuclide. Cylindrical phantom is used for comparing and analysing the effect on diagnosis image during radiopharmaceuticals inspection. Inside of the phantom, water is injected and computed tomography image is scanned. During nuclear medicine invitro, frequently used radiopharmaceuticals, $^{99m}TcO_4$ 20 mCi and $^{18}F$ 14 mCi, is diluted in the water phantom and scanned in the same method. Traverse image obtained by CT scan is divided into six traverse image in the same slice of each scanned image. CT-number(HU) value of 10 measuring point is measured in 2 cm interval based on the center of the phantom. Measured HU value, based on the water phantom, is compared with the image after injecting $^{99m}TcO_4$ and $^{18}F$. Average scale of water is 2.8~1.6 HU, $^{99m}TcO_4$ is 3.0~1.6 HU and $^{18}F$ is 1.2~0 HU. Average of water is $2.3{\pm}0.17$ HU, $^{99m}TcO_4$ is $2.2{\pm}0.85$ HU and F-18 is $0.7{\pm}0.95$ HU. Based on water, reduced value of about 0.1 HU and about 0.5 HU is acquired from $^{99m}TcO_4$ and F-18. Radionuclide used in nuclear medicine inspection utilizes 100~200 KeV energy and obtains image through scintillation camera and PET-CT utilizes 511 KeV positron annihilation energy to obtain image. What we learned from this research is that gamma rays from these energies used in CT scan for diagnosis purpose or radioactive therapy plan can change the intensity of the image. The nuclear medicine inspection for reducing the effect of emitted gamma ray diagnosis image should be obtained after a period of time considering half-life which would be reduced distortion or changed in image.

Microsatellite 마커를 이용한 딸기 품종의 DNA Profile Database 구축 (Construction of DNA Profile Data Base of Strawberry Cultivars Using Microsatellite Markers)

  • 국내외에서 재배되고 있는 딸기 100품종의 DNA profile 데이터베이스를 구축하기 위하여 다형성이 높은 microsatellite 마커의 선정과 유전적 유사도 분석을 통한 품종식별력 검정 등에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 딸기 21품종을 274개의 microsatellite 마커로 검정하여 반복 재현성이 높은 25개의 다형성이 높은 마커를 선정하였다. 이들 마커와 국내외에서 재배되고 있는 딸기 100품종을 검정하였을 때 마커당 평균 대립유전자수는 7.50개로 나타났고, 3-13개까지 다양한 분포를 나타내었다. PIC 값은 마커의 유전자형에 따라 0.333-0.841 범위에 속하였으며 평균값도 0.706으로 높게 나타났다. Microsatellite 마커의 대립유전자를 이용하여 딸기 100 품종에 대한 계통도를 작성하였을 때 품종 육성의 계보 및 육성 지역에 따라 7개의 그룹으로 크게 나누어졌으며 2품종을 제외한 98품종이 microsatellite 마커의 유전자형에 의해 식별이 되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 딸기 품종별 DNA profile 데이터베이스는 품종보호 출원 품종의 재배심사 및 품종진위성과 관련된 종자분쟁을 해결하는 수단으로 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
