In order to establish a digital-based use environment for the provision of new information services suitable for the 5G era, it is necessary to discuss the direction of service provision by the National Library of Children and Young Adults in the 5G era. Based on utilization services in other fields, library services in the 5G era, including the development and provision of employee education and training services, ultra-high-definition and 360-degree realistic contents and education on library use, provision of multi-dimensional realistic media streaming broadcasting services, provision of telepresence education programs, activation of virtual communities, implementation of hologram performance halls/exhibit centers, and provision of unmanned book delivery services, environment monitoring, safety monitoring, and customized services, were proposed. In addition, based on 5G service, 5G technology, and library application direction, advancing into a producing and supporting base for ultra-realistic and immersive contents in the 5G era, strengthening online and mobile services in the non-contact era, and establishing a smart library environment were proposed as the service provision direction for the National Library of Children and Young Adults in the 5G era.

This research paper delved into the availability and utilization of library portal services for research in university libraries in Nigeria. Two research questions and two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The study was carried out in Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and Felix Aghagbo Nwako Library, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Library (UNIZIK), Awka. A total of 70 professionals (librarians and system analysts) in these libraries supplied data for the study. Data collected was analyzed using mean and standard deviation. These were used to answer the research questions while the null hypotheses were tested using t-test statistic at 0.05 level of significance and 68 degree of freedom. Major findings showed that portal services available in the library showed that the areas of availability of library portal services in Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, U.N.N. includes Agriculture, Health Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Sciences and information about institution, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences. In Festus Aghagbo Nwako Library, Awka, the areas of Portal Library Services include Career Development, Federal Government Programs, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Engineering, and Health Sciences. Findings on extent of utilization of portal services available in the libraries indicated that portal services are utilized to a low extent in the university libraries. Furthermore, librarians did not significantly differ in their opinions on the availability of library portal services and on the extent of utilization of library portal services in the libraries under study. It is therefore recommended that provisions should be made by the universities and library management to provide and update required portal services in addition to creating enabling environment for enhanced access and utilization of these services. The governments must make an effort to provide funds for policy implementation, necessary technology training for librarians and users, and develop general information infrastructure.

This study is to construct a general purpose library for a computer vision system development. The library includes many core algorithms required for computer vision systems such as image Processing algorithms, feature extracting methods, neural networks and etc. We have experimented the efficiency of the library by building a vehicle plate recognition system and the overall time and effort in development could be reduced to a certain extent.

This study outlined the services of the P Public Library and some other libraries in California, USA for benchmarking to develop the public library services in Korea. To perform the role of public libraries and to assure the library users' supports in Korea, the development of following services are suggested in this study: 1) information services suited to information society 2) services to supply the public and lifelong education 3) services related to the cultural and artistic desires of the local community.

The study reviews the digital library thoughts of Kim Jung-gun's and their fellows to discover the developmental aspects of digital library in Korea. The main objective of this study is to set a Collection Development Policy(CDP) for the National Library for Children and Young Adults(NLCY). Every library, in order to accomplish its duty, should maintain a written collection development policy. This paper, in this regard, strives to propose a model to comprise of basic principles of collection development of NLCY for the effective management of resources by the types and subjects. Major emphasis was put on the nature of the library as a repository and a service point for children and young adults, and a hub for children-related research. As a result, a model collection development policy appropriate for NLCY has been proposed by analyzing cases in other countries to guide establishing principles for determining and analyzing the types and magnitude of the collection acquisition.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the academic librarians' perception of the current status and establishment of the development plans of domestic university libraries to suggest ways to increase usefulness of development plans. And this study sought ways to establish the academic library development plan that reflected the key components of the development plan. To this end, a survey was conducted on academic library librarians, and in-depth interviews were conducted with the persons in charge of the academic library development plan to supplement the limitations of survey. The results are as follows. First, the establishment of academic library development plans tend to be formal and passive, and has limitation in eliciting cooperation between external organizations and academic libraries. Second, most academic libraries do not disclose their development plans on their websites. Third, the awareness of the leaders of the academic library organization needs to be preceded, and a task force needs to be formed to establish development plan. As a result of the study, it is suggested that 'active changes in the perceptions and operation method within academic libraries', 'external disclosure of development plans and strengthening cooperation', and 'strengthening the initiative and role of librarians' are needed as improvement measures.

Library professionals should do their best themselves to develop libraries in the diversified society of 21st century. This study suggests library professionals' participation on library related committees and advocacy to develop libraries. If library professionals participating on library related committees bring understanding of other committee members to the importance of the role of libraries and librarians, this effort results the development of an individual library and the all libraries in Korea. This study examines how to develop libraries by the library professionals' participation on the committees of public and academic libraries and school committees and advocacy.

The purpose of this study is to suggest knowledge-based digital library model that is applicable in korea university library. This paper provides brief accounts of research and development trends of digital library in referring some major digital library projects that are in progress, or just completed. There follows a suggestion of eight essential modules for knowledge-based digital library system, that are infrastructure development of dissertation presentation and database construction, management and service of collections, infrastructure construction of journal service, development of unified viewer, database conversion, distributed & integrated retrieval system, cyber campus(private work space), and database connection.

This study purposed to establish the history of library automation through multilateral analysis and systematic description of the development process of university library automation in Korea and to analyze problems in the development process. In the research, we conducted literature review, investigation of university homepages and telephone interviews. Based on previous researches and the current state of university library automation, the development process of university libraries was divided into 'the stage of introduction,' 'the stage of growth,' 'the stage of stability' and 'the stage of take off.' First, the current state of university library automation was analyzed through literature review, and 109 libraries at private universities in Korea were sampled for data analysis.
