The Effect of Leveling Agents in the ULLR of Cotton

  • Energy saving and environment-friendly dyeing method of cotton with reactive dyes is the ultra low liquor ratio dyeing because it reduces the total quantity of water, dye, salt and alkali during the dyeing process in the effluent as well as the energy consumption. However, this method may not guarantee the quality of the dyeing results due to the specs or unlevel dyeing depending upon the dyes used. The study has focused on the effect of leveling agents in the dyeing of cotton with reactive dyes under the ultra low liquor ratio (1:5). Especially Sunfix N/B MF-D which was selected for ULLR showed low-leveled dyeing comparing with the other MF-D series. A leveling agent having polycarbonate structure increased LDF values of Sunfix N/B MF-D without changing of dyeing fastness. We recommend some leveling agents to improve the leveling behavior for ULLR dyeing.

  • In this study bias estimation method was applied to the free leveling networks adjustment by the concepts of free leveling networks. Optimum bias coefficients were determined by analizing the distribution of height errors with regard to bias coefficients. The object of this study lies in suggesting the utilities of free leveling networks adjustment, comparing one fixed-point and two fixed-points leveling networks adjustment.

Residual Stress Evolution during Leveling of Hot Rolled High Strength Coils and Camber Prediction by Residual Stress Distribution (냉간 성형용 열연 고강도 강판의 교정 중 잔류응력 변화와 절단 후 캠버 발생 예측)

  • In order to investigate the residual stress evolution during the leveling process of hot rolled high strength coils for cold forming, the in-plane residual stress of plate sampled at SPM, rough leveler and finish leveler were measured by cutting method. Residual stress was localized near the edge of plate. As the thickness of plate was increased, the size of residual stress region was expanded. The gradient of residual stress within the plate was reduced during the leveling process. But the residual stress itself was not removed completely within the ranges of tested conditions. The exact camber of cut plate was able to be predicted by the measurement of residual stress distribution after leveling of the plate.

  • Tension leveling is the process that removes the shape defects such as edge waves and center buckles, which may be formed in the rolled strip. The main purpose of tension leveling is to eliminate the differences in elongation in order to reduce the residual stresses. In this paper, a new approach for the optimization of the process conditions in tension leveling is presented. This new approach is an analytic model that predicts the residual stresses from the strip curvature. The prediction accuracy of the proposed model is examined through comparison with the predictions from a finite element model.

  • Total Station (TS) is currently widespread and used in many fields of surveying projects. However, its application functions are not perfectly understood and so insufficiently used. One of them is indirect leveling method using TS. Because we can reach a considerable accuracy level with this method, it is gradually expanding for public surveying works such as construction of roads, airports and harbors. This paper gives results of an experiment to increase accuracy of indirect leveling by TS without direct leveling, which is more comfortable and quick to determine elevation.

  • In order to analyze the effect of leveling conditions on residual stress evolution of hot rolled high strength steels, a numerical algorithm was developed. It was able to implement the effect of plastic fraction (intermesh) in leveling, line tension, work roll bending, and initial residual stress and curl distribution. The effect of work roll bending on residual stress and curl were studied by using the developed program. The validity of simulated results was verified from comparison with the experimentally measured residual stress and curl in a sheet.

  • In this paper, we propose a four 2-link robotic leg landing system that is used for leveling the bottom of the landing system, even when the quadcopter posture is changed. The case of conventional skid type landing gear has a risk when the quadcopter lands on a moving vehicle because the skid type landing gear is tilted to the landing site at this situation. To solve this problem, it is necessary to level the bottom of the landing system when the quadcopter posture is changed in the flight. Therefore, the proposed landing system used a four 2-link robotic leg with leveling method. The leveling method was derived from the method of determining a plane. The superiority of the proposed system was verified with 6-axis stewart platform and real flight experiment, and it shows feasibility of leveling method and proposed landing system.

Analysis of Potential Risks for Garbage Collection and Wear Leveling Interference in FTL-based NAND Flash Memory

  • This paper presents three potential risks in an environment that simultaneously performs the garbage collection and wear leveling in NAND flash memory. These risks may not only disturb the lifespan improvement of NAND flash memory, but also impose an additional overhead of page migrations. In this paper, we analyze the interference of garbage collection and wear leveling and we also provide two theoretical considerations for lifespan prolongation of NAND flash memory. To prove two solutions of three risks, we construct a simulation, based on DiskSim 4.0 and confirm realistic impacts of three risks in NAND flash memory. In experimental results, we found negative impacts of three risks and confirmed the necessity for a coordinator module between garbage collection and wear leveling for reducing the overhead and prolonging the lifespan of NAND flash memory.

  • This paper presents a GA-based optimal algorithm for a resource leveling model that levels the resources of a set of non-critical activities experiencing conflicts simultaneously up to an assumed level of resource rates specified by the planner using a pair-wise comparison of the activities being considered. A parameter called the future float is adopted and applied as an indicator for assigning leveling priorities to the sets of activities experiencing conflicts. A construction project network example was worked out to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method. The histogram obtained using the algorithm proposed was shown to be the same as, or very close to that produced by the existing resource leveling method based on the least total float rule, which shifts non-critical activities individually.

The Optimum Binder Ratio for High-Strength Self-Leveling Material (고강도 Self-Leveling재의 최적 결합재비)

  • Self-leveling material(SLM) is one of the floor finishing materials which make flat surface like as water level by itself in a short time. So it is possible to increase construction speed and enhance economical efficiency. In this study, author intended to develop SLM for the industrial warehouse and factory loading heavy weight machinery and vehicles. The demanded properties for this type of SLM are above 20mm of flow value and above 300kgf/cm2 of 28-days compressive strength. To possess demended strength and fluidity, SLM have to be composed of many types of binders and chemical additives. So it is difficult to decide suitable mixing proportion of composition materials. In this study, author investigated the weight percentage effect of main composition materials for high-strength self-leveling material, by experimental design such as tables of orthogonal arrays and simplex design, and by statistical analysis such as analysis of variance and analysis of response surface. Variables of experiments were ordinary portland cement(OPC), alumina cement(AC), anhydrous gypsum(AG), lime stone(LS) and sand, and properties of tests were fluidity of fresh state and strength of hardened state. Results of this study are showed that suitable mix proportions of binders for the high strength self-leveling materials are two groups. One is 78~85.5% OPC, 7.5~9.5% AC, 9~12.5% AG and the other is 72.5~78% OPC, 9~12.5% AC, 13~l5% AG.
