In this study, a selective inverter operation between a 2-level voltage source converter (VSC) and a 3-level T-type VSC (3LT VSC) is proposed to improve the efficiency of a 3LT VSC. The 3LT VSC topology, except for its neutral-point switches, has similar operations as that of the 2-level VSC. If an operation mode is changed according to efficiency, the efficiency can be improved because efficiencies of each methods are depending on current and MI (Modulation Index). The proposed method calculates the power losses of the two topologies and operates as the having lower losses. To calculate the losses, the switching and conduction losses based on the operation mode of each topology were analyzed. The controller determined the operation mode of the 2- or 3-level VSC based on the power loss calculated during every cycle. The validity of the proposed control scheme was investigated through simulation and experiments. The waveform and average efficiency of each method were compared.

This study introduces a method for computation of process and operation gap in the specific construction operation(i.e., RC frame construction applying a block-grouping scheme) using CYCLONE-based simulation modeling and analysis technique. Since uncertainty of construction environment exists, a thoughtful production planning is required to effectively deal with a risk resulting in schedule delay in advance. This study presents the concepts of a time delay occurred in a process level and operation level in a operation model, and a method of measuring gap-times in each level while the simulation progresses. It helps a site manager to decide how many segmentation in a construction block is suitable for eliminating unproductive time-delays under the constrained resources (e.g., laborer, equipment). A case study presents a network model representing a three segmented RC frame work, and result obtained from the simulation experiment.

In this paper, a synthesis tool using matrix operations for designing multi-level Reed Muller circuits is described which has been named as MRM (Multi-level Reed Muller Minimizer). The synthesis method which uses matrix operations has advantages in effectively minimizing chip area, delay optimization and fault detection capability. However, it uses only truth-table type maps for inputs, synthesizing only small circuits. To overcome the weakness, our method accepts two-level description of a logic function. Since the number of cubes in the two-level description is small, the input matrix becomes small and large circuits can be synthesized. To convert two-level representations into multi-level ones, different input patterns are extracted to make a map which can be fed to the matrix operation procedure. Experimental results show better performance than previous methods. The matrix operation method presented in this paper is new to the society of Reed Muller circuits synthesis and provides solid mathematical foundations.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the method of using coraco-clavicular (C-C) sling with modified Phemister operation by postoperative clinical results, radiologic analysis and complications. Materials and Methods: 33 patients of acromioclavicular joint dislocation were included in this study. Thirteen patients were treated with simple C-C sling method and twenty patients were treated with modified Phemister operation. The assesment of clinical and radiological evaluation were performed and the final results were examined by using the Weitzman's classification. Results: In the final result of C-C sling method group, forward elevation $161^{\circ}$, external rotation $70^{\circ}$, internal rotation T8 level, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) 83.3 points were checked. In modified Phemister operation group, forward elevation $155^{\circ}$, external rotation $67^{\circ}$, internal rotation T6 level, VAS 83.8 points were checked. In coracoclavicular distance of C-C sling method group, pre-operation 12.82 mm and last follow up 8.37 mm were checked. In modified Phemister operation group, pre-operation 12.8 mm and last follow up 7.7 mm were checked. In functional evaluation by the Weitzman criteria, C-C sling group had excellent 8, good 1, fair 1 and modified Phemister group had excellent 13, good 4, fair 3. Conclusion: C-C sling method would be the better than the Modified Phemister operation because of short operation time and smaller skin incision.

Rain data and water-level data are importantly used for dam operation at flood period. Because dams are directly controlled by the water-level data, the characteristic of the water-level gauges is necessary to be managed. Thus, we developed the standard test facility and method for testing the water-level gauges which are a float type, a supersonic type and a radar type. And we calculated the uncertainty of the standard test facility to maintain the accuracy of water-level gauges. Through development of this facility, we could obtain the characteristics and the calibration factor of the water-level gauges. And, this study showed that the standard test facility can be widely used for dam operation and basin management.

A direct torque control algorithm for 3-level inverter-fed induction motors is presented. Conventional voltage selection methods provoke some problems such as stator flux drooping phenomenon and undersirable torque control appeared especially at the low speed operation. To overcome these problems, a proposed method uses intermediate voltage vectors, which are inherently generated in 3-level inverters. In the proposed algorithm, both subdivision of the basic switching sectors and applications of tntermediated voltages improve the low speed operation characteristics. This algorithm basically considers applications in which direct torque controlled induction motors are fed by 3-level inverters with low switching frequency around 500Hz. An adaptive observer is also employed to bring better responses at the low speed operation, by estimating some state-variables, motor speed and motor parameters which take a deep effect on the performance of the low speed operation. Simulation and experiment results verify effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

The transistors of single phase 3 level PWM Inverter compose output power transistors and neutral point clamping transistors, which are NPN transistors. Waveforms of driving signals for this are PWM waves for power transistors and period operating waves for neutral point clamping transistors, which signals made W-type modulation from rectangular and sine wave. The output power transistors operate at ON-time complementary and neutral point clamping transistors operate at OFF-time complementary respectively. Therefore, each transistors operate in half period at parallel. Characteristics of this inverter circuit is parallel switching method about series switching method of general inverter. As modulation of 3 level drive signals made from full-wave rectifier of sine wave and rectangular wave, which are level wave about 3 level of complementary transistor inverter. So, this circuit composed complementary operation inverter of NPN transistors only compare with PNP-NPN complementary inverter, which have high power 3 level inverter of complementary operation.
This paper proposes a simple space vector PWM (SVPWM) scheme including overmodulation operation for 3-level NPC (Neutral Point Clamped) Inverters. The proposed scheme features a simple decision and calculation procedure for determining switching times in the overmodulation range by utilizing the duty calculation method used in 2-level inverters and the minimum phase error projection method widely employed in motor drive systems. The proposed scheme does not need to detect the angle of the reference vector or calculate trigonometric functions to determine the magnitude of the voltage vector. The magnitude of the angle of the new reference voltage vector is decided in advance with the help of the Fourier Series Expansion to extend the linearity of the output voltage of 3-level inverters in the overmodulation region. Experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed SVPWM scheme including overmodulation operation for 3-level NPC inverters.

In this paper, we have improved the speed of gradient operation, which needs to calculate Optical Flow for estimating a moving object, and proposed a method which estimate the contour of a moving object by the logical operationg of Optical Flow and edge in noisy images. The proposed method, which recognize to a moving ogject and traking a moving object, using logical operation of Optical Flow and edge in low-level has a advantage that is simpler than the known method for moving objects estimation. In addition, we have simulated several images using method I and method II on improved Gradient operation speed. When we have compared the average value of total operation time, method I is improved with 12% of operation speed compared with the known method, method II is improved with 38% operation speed.
