  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of prescription of overcorrection (-) lens, which is the one of the non-surgical treatments, on stereo-acuity and angle of deviation in intermittent exotropia. Methods: Twenty four children with intermittent exotropia were enrolled from October 2011 to December 2011. The angle of deviation(${\Delta}$), stereo-acuity (arcsec), monocular and binocular visual acuity (BVA, LogMAR), control of exodeviation and fusional ability using Worth 4 dot test were evaluated at near (33 cm) and far (6 m), under the overcorrecting (-)lens of -1.00, -.00, and -.00 D. Results: As a baseline finding, the angle of exodeviation was $20.9{\pm}9.7$ at near and $23.0{\pm}7.5$ at far. The angle of exodeviation at near decreased to $18.5{\pm}10.0$ (p<0.01), $15.8{\pm}9.0$ (p<0.01), $14.0{\pm}9.1$ (p<0.01) compared with baseline angle of exodeviation at near, as increasing diopters of (-) lens from -.00 D, -2.00 D and -.00 D, respectively. The angle of exodeviation at far also decreased to $21.4{\pm}5.2$ (p=0.01), $19.6{\pm}6.3$ (p<0.01) compared with baseline, as increasing minus lens from -2.00 D and -3.00 D, respectively. However, BVA, control of exodeviation, fusional ability and stereo-acuity showed no significant decrease despite of increasing diopters of (-)lens. Conclusions: The prescription of overcorrection (-)lens is an effective therapeutic method in intermittent exotropia which can reduce the near and far angle of exodeviation, and binocular visual acuity and stereo-acuity maintained without significant decrease despite of application of overcorrection (-)lens.

  • We measured the effect of wettability of six MPSs for RGP lens. The used MPSs(multipurpose solutions) were OPTI-SOAK(ALCON), SOLO care hard(CIBA Vision), Total care(ALLERGAN), Simplicity(BOSTON). Wetting and Soaking Sol.(Bausch & Lomb) and Aquas-multi(Saehan). These MPSs keeps hydrophilic property of lens surface and increase the effect of cleaning or increase the effect of preservative effect. To compare with the effect of wettability we followed the way of contact angle measurement which was general way to measure wettability and compared lens which was conducted by each MPS made by different companies. As a control, 0.9% NaCl solution and artificial tears were used. The degree of the effect of wettability was decided by contact angle. It is hydrophilic property nearby $0^{\circ}$ of contact angle and it is closed by hydrophobic property as it increases. It is hydrophilic property nearby $0^{\circ}$ of contact angle and it is closed by hydrophobic property as it increases. The results showed that every lens was nearby hydrophilic property within $25^{\circ}{\sim}36^{\circ}$. Also, it was differed by various factors. The surface tension showed various differences between 19.8 and 31.3(mN/m). In the viscosity, MPSs represented the highest viscosity between $4^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$. It was much higher than compared with the viscosity of soft lens MPS. This experiment could be used to grasping the interaction between solutions used to MPS and the natural endowments of lens and to considering the relations of different factors effecting the wettability.

  • This paper proposes an auto-focusing method for production of compact camera module (CCM). The CCM test handlers are mainly used in the final CCM production stage to test and adjust the lens focus of CCMs. To improve the productivity of CCM test handlers, we propose the auto-focusing method adjusting the lens focus efficiently. The max-min-difference (MMD) method is newly developed to compute the focus value efficiently, and two-stage searching method is also developed to find the best focus position quickly. Experimental results are presented to verify the usefulness of proposed method.

  • A new method for the catadioptric omnidirectional stereo vision with single camera is presented in this paper. The proposed method uses a concave lens with a convex mirror. Since the optical part of the proposed method is simple and commercially available, the resultant omnidirectional stereo system becomes versatile and cost-effective. The closed-form solution for 3D distance computation is presented based on the simple optics including the reflection and the reflection of the convex mirror and the concave lens. The compactness of the system and the simplicity of the image processing make the omnidirectional stereo system appropriate for real-time applications such as autonomous navigation of a mobile robot or the object manipulation. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed method, an experimental prototype is implemented.

  • The electric part of thermal SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy) consists of high voltage generation, lens control, and image processing. Several methodologies for enhancing SEM image are addressed and those results are verified through analyses and experiments. The controller employes a DSP(Digital Signal Processing), making the system more flexible and convenient than the classical analogue based controller. In some parts based the analog circuit, there are inevitable sources of noise and image distortion. The experimental investigation is provided along with analytical proof to enhance the SEM image.

  • The measurable speed range of the self-mixing type semiconductor laser range finder has been greatly improved by employing a new processing circuit. Using this range finder as an external finder of a single lens reflex (SLR) autofocus (AF) camera, some clear photographs of an object moving at a medium speed of 20 mm/s is obtained.

  • The use electron-beam(E-beam) manufacturing system provides a means to alleviate optic exposure equipment's problems. We are developing an E-beam manufacturing system with scanning electron microscope(SEM) function. The E-beam manufacturing system consist of high voltage generator, beam blanker, condenser lenses, object lenses, stigmator and stage. The development of E-beam manufacturing system is used on the method of remaking SEM's structure. The functions of SEM are developed. It is important for the test of E-beam performance. In E-beam manufacturing system and SEM, beam focus is important function. In this paper, we propose intelligent remote control function for beam focus in E-beam manufacturing system. The function extends the user's function and gives convenience.

  • In this study we researched a spotlight in LED lighting. Ordinary LED spotlight was manufactured with characterized property of traveling straightness of LED light source, but multiple use of shell type LED, a yellow band has formed caused by light source interference between the LED. Also, there was a high miscellaneous light efficiency with losing light source homogeneity and efficiency due to light source control uneasiness. The study uses aspheric reflector and aspheric lens, so we can control the light source of LED spotlight with effectively and we reached surface light source by using COB/COM for LED module. Furthermore it can change its use by a reduced scale of light system. It has been designed to make its various application from low power consumption of bicycle lamp, up to high power consumption of automobile lamps and lighthouse.
