  • Data mining is the process of searching and analyzing large quantities of data for finding out meaningful patterns and rules. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is one of the tools of data mining which is becoming very popular in forecasting the future values. Some of the areas where it is used are banking, medicine, retailing and fraud detection. In finance, artificial neural network is used in various disciplines including stock market forecasting. In the stock market time series, due to high volatility, it is very important to choose a model which reads volatility and forecasts the future values considering volatility as one of the major attributes for forecasting. In this paper, an attempt is made to develop two models - one using feed forward back propagation Artificial Neural Network and the other using Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (ARCH) technique for forecasting stock market returns. Various parameters which are considered for the design of optimal ANN model development are input and output data normalization, transfer function and neuron/s at input, hidden and output layers, number of hidden layers, values with respect to momentum, learning rate and error tolerance. Simulations have been done using prices of daily close of Sensex. Stock market returns are chosen as input data and output is the forecasted return. Simulations of the Model have been done using MATLAB$^{(R)}$ 6.1.0.450 and EViews 4.1. Convergence and performance of models have been evaluated on the basis of the simulation results. Performance evaluation is done on the basis of the errors calculated between the actual and predicted values.

  • This study is to provide didactical implications for teaching and learning of radian through a analysis of investigation result about pre-service teachers' understanding of radian. The results of this study are as follows. First, pre-service teachers understood the radian as ${\frac{180^{\circ}}{\pi}}$, rather than as the definition. Secondly, the definition style of radian affected the problem solving strategy for the measurement of the angle. Thirdly, pre-service teachers had insufficient content knowledge about properties of measurement as a pure number of radian. Lastly, They failed to describe the usefulness of circular measure. We suggested the definition of radian in textbooks should be changed from ${\frac{180^{\circ}}{\pi}}$ to mathematical definition of radian. And the general angle should be stated as the reason why the domain of trigonometric function is real numbers.

  • In this paper, a research on multi-agent is carried out in order to develop a system that can provide drivers with real-time route recommendation by reflecting Dynamic Environment Information which acts as an agent in charge of Driver's trait, road condition and Route recommendation system. DEI is equivalent to number of n multi-agent and is an environment variable which is used in route recommendation system with optimal routes for drivers. Route recommendation system which reflects DEI can be considered as a new field of topic in multi-agent research. The representative research of Multi-agent, the Prey Pursuit Problem, was used to generate a fresh solution. In this thesis paper, you will be able to find the effort of indulging the lack of Prey Pursuit Problem,, which ignored practicality. Compared to the experiment, it was provided a real practical experiment applying the algorithm, the new Ant-Q method, plus a comparison between the strategies of the established direction vector was put into effect. Together with these methods, the increase of the efficiency was able to be proved.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the KPIs(Key Performance Indices) needed to improve management and strategy in the dental clinic based on the four perspectives of BSC(Balanced Scorecard). The questionnaire was conducted on 52 dentists approved by Dental Managment Research Committee in Seoul National University as a panel. Using the Delphi technique, the top five KPIs for each point of perspective in BSC were extracted from KPI pools. In the third survey, the top five KPIs of all points were compared with each other through AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method, and priority and overall importance rankings were calculated. The biggest difference in the three level AHP results was the customer perspective took priority to others. In the second survey, the financial perspective, which was number one, was pushed back. The overall significance of KPIs was in the order of customer, internal process, finance, learning and growth perspective, with the exception of medical profits (5th of 20) and new patient growth (10th of 20). We were able to overcome the limitations of the Delphi Technique with the AHP method. In general, the financial perspective in BSC is known to be the most important, but we conclude that the customer perspective is more important through the pairwise comparison survey. In the current dental service market, which is a long-term recession, excessive competition, customer satisfaction and customer relationship management seem to be the first goal to pursue in dental clinic.

  • This exploratory study investigates the use of a computational knowledge engine (WolframAlpha) and social networking sites (Gmail, Yahoo and Facebook) by 200 students at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, their "friends" and their "friends of friends" during the 2009 through 2013 school years, and how this appears to have added value in knowledge generation. The primary aim is to identify what enhances productiveness in knowledge generation in Philippine Tertiary Education. The phenomenological approach is used, therefore there are no specific research questions or hypotheses proposed in this paper. Considering that knowledge generation is a complex phenomenon, a stochastic modelling approach is also used for the investigation that was developed specifically to study un-deterministic complex systems. A list of salient features for knowledge generation is presented as a result. In addition to these features, various problem types are identified from literature. These are then integrated to provide a proposed framework of inclusive (friendly) and innovative social networks, for knowledge generation in Philippine tertiary education. Such a framework is necessarily multidisciplinary and useful for problem-solving in a globalized and pluralist reality. The implementation of this framework is illustrated in the three parts of the study: Part 1: Online lessons, discussions, and examinations in General Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, and Life and Works of Jose Rizal, for the author's students in De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde; Part 2: Facebook Report analytics of students and teachers, their friends and their friends of friends via WolframAlpha; and Part 3: Social Network Analysis of the people and groups influencing the courses' scope-and-sequence in the new General Education Curriculum for Tertiary Schools and Institutions in the Philippines.

  • In cognitive radio technology, secondary users can determine the absence of PU by periodic sensing operation and cooperative sensing between SUs yields a significant sensing performance improvement. However, there exists a trade off between the gains in terms of probability of detection of the primary users and the costs of false alarm probability. Therefore, the cooperation group must maintain the suitable size. And secondary users should sense not only the currently using channels and but also other candidates channel to switch in accordance with sudden appearance of the primary user. In this paper, we propose an effective group cooperative sensing algorithm in distributed network situations that is considering both of inband and outband sensing using evolutionary game theory. We derived that the strategy group of secondary users converges to an ESS(Evolutionary sable state). Using a learning algorithm, each secondary user can converge to the ESS without the exchange of information to each other.

  • Students can calculate the addition and subtraction problem using informal knowledge before receiving the formal instruction. Recently, the value that a computation lesson focus on the understanding and developing the various strategies is highlighted by curriculum developers as well as in reports. Ideally, a educational setting and classroom culture reflected students' learning and problem solving strategies. So, this paper analyzed the similarity and difference with respect to the numeric sentence and word problem in the addition and subtraction. The subjects for the study were 100 third-grade Korean students and 68 third-grade American students. Researcher developed the questionnaire in the addition and subtraction and used it for the survey. The following results have been drawn from this study. The computational ability of Korean students was higher than that of American students in both the numeric sentence and word problem. And it was revealed the differences of the strategies which were used problem solving process. Korean students tended to use algorithms and numbers' characters and relations, but American students tended to use the drawings and algorithms with drawings.

  • Since the introduction of Deep Neural Networks to the Natural Language Processing field, two major approaches have been considered for modeling text. One method involved learning embeddings, i.e. the distributed representations containing abstract semantics of words or sentences, with the textual context. The other strategy consisted of composing the embeddings trained by the above to get embeddings of longer texts. However, most studies of the composition methods just adopt word embeddings without consideration of the optimal embedding unit and the optimal method of composition. In this paper, we conducted experiments to analyze the optimal embedding unit and the optimal composition method for modeling longer texts, such as documents. In addition, we suggest a new discourse-based composition to overcome the limitation of the sequential composition method on composing sentence embeddings.

  • In this paper, a strategy of cooperation activities was conducted to analyze on the impact of what effect appears in teacher training. We classified with satisfaction, effectiveness and academic achievement as effects of teacher training. We were divided into three groups that are cooperative-reflection activity group using the SNS, self-reflection activity group and general training group. Depending on the type of reflection activity, we have one-way ANOVA analysis for the effectiveness of teacher training. By the results of the analysis, we found to have a positive impact that cooperative reflection activity group were more an academic achievement, satisfaction and effectiveness of training. Accordingly, we have found the SNS-based collaborative reflection activity is very effective in teacher training.
