공학설계와 지역사회봉사활동을 통합한 서비스러닝 교육프로그램 운영 사례 및 효과 (A case study on the effect of service learning education program integrating engineering design and community service activities)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a service learning education program for engineers and to investigate its educational effects. This study reviewed the concept and characteristics of service learning and examined the service learning education programs operated in higher education environments. The Service Learning Education Program was developed by integrating engineering design and community service activities. This program has been applied to the engineering education from 2014 to 2016. As a result of the study, the learners' satisfaction with service learning activities, empathy ability, and engineering design ability were improved. Based on the research results, practical implications are suggested to the instructors who want to develop the service learning education program for engineering students.

학습 활동 주제별 프로그래밍 교육 효과 메타분석 (A meta analysis of programming education effects according to learning activity themes)

  • 교육용 프로그래밍 언어의 도입은 다양한 학습활동을 전개할 수 있도록 교육환경을 변화시켰다. 이러한 학습 활동들이 프로그래밍 학습에 어느 정도 효과가 있는지 분석할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 8가지 주요 학습 활동 주제별로 메타 분석 하였다. 연구 대상은 1993년부터 2015년까지 논문지에 게재된 프로그래밍 교육 논문이다. 분석 기준에 부합하는 총 44편의 논문에서 추출한 77개의 연구 자료를 선정했다. 본 연구의 주요결과를 살펴보면, 인지적 영역과 정의적 영역에서 .595와 .594로 중간 수준의 효과 크기를 나타냈다. 인지적 영역에서는 학습 주제별 유의한 차이는 없으나 수리, 시뮬레이션, 애니메이션 영역에서 중간 수준의 효과크기로 비교적 일관된 결과를 나타냈다. 정의적 영역에서는 학습 주제별 효과크기는 유의한 차이는 없지만, 개별 연구 간에 그리고 학습 주제 간에 동질성이 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 시사점을 제시하였다. 첫째, 학습자들은 다양한 학습 활동 주제에 따라 학습하는 것이 바람직하다. 둘째, 교수자들은 시뮬레이션, 애니메이션, 수리 활동에 주목할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 연구자들은 효과적인 학습을 위해 다른 요인을 찾아보는 연구가 필요하다.

학습자의 경험 분석을 통한 플립 러닝의 재해석 (Reconstructing the Meaning of Flipped Learning by Analyzing Learners' Experiences)

  • This paper explored how university students viewed flipped learning from their own perspectives. Using qualitative research methods, 5 students from a Computer Graphics course at a mid-scale university in Seoul were interviewed for this purpose. Researchers collected data about their learning experiences, emotions, and reflections about flipped learning in general and its components such as online materials, in-class activities, and instructor guidance. Research findings indicated that students were not so much conscious about the unfamiliarity of the class, the increased work load, nor the online lectures. They rather prioritized 'what they could actually learn' from the course, and thus defined flipped learning as a method which enabled students to constantly check and fill in the gaps in their learning through team-based activities and prompt feedback from the professor. A combination of students' positive attitude and active participation in team-based activities, the overall atmosphere of the department which supported interactivity and collaboration, the professor's emphasis on learning-by-doing and student-centered learning appeared to form their notions of flipped learning. The use of technology did not appear to heavily impact students' conceptions of flipped learning. Researchers suggest that pedagogical beliefs of the professor, culture surrounding the learner, and the good match between the course content and instructional strategies are central for designing a successful flipped learning class.

간호학생의 임상수행능력과 관련요인 -문제중심학습을 한 대상자를 중심으로- (The Clinical Competence and Related Factors of the Nursing Students: Focused on the Subjects who studied Problem-Based Learning)

  • Purpose: This study was to evaluate clinical competence in relation to self-directed learning, critical thinking disposition, and participating in PBL(Problem-Based Learning) group activities of nursing students. Methods: Data were collected from 108 nursing students in Oct. 2006. Results: Clinical competence had a significant positive correlation with self-directed learning, critical thinking disposition, and participation in PBL group activities. There was a significant difference in clinical competence according to interpersonal relationship. Participation in PBL group activities was the most influential factor of clinical competence($R^2$=.34). Also, the influence of clinical competence increased with the addition of self-directed learning($R^2$=.42). Conclusion: It is essential to encourage the self-directed learning and participation in PBL group activities for the improvement of clinical competence. It is relatively important for clinical competence to consider the educational environment systematically.

공과대학의 고체역학 교과목에 플립러닝의 적용사례 (A Case Study on the Application of Flipped Learning to Solid Mechanics in College of Engineering)

  • This study dealt with a case study on the application of flipped learning to solid mechanics in college of engineering and analyzed the results of Pre-class survey, In-class activities, and Post-class survey to examine the effects of flipped learning. Total sample size of the analysis was 32 students who applied for solid mechanics in mechanical engineering department, consisting of 23 students in sophomore, five in junior and four in senior. The class was operated in three stages: Pre-class, In-class, and Post-class. The response of the students was observed at each stage of the class. According to the results, flipped learning was effective in learning knowledge of major subjects in engineering, and students actively participated in class activities and conducted smooth discussions with team members. Flipped learning has also improved students' class concentration and academic ability. Most of the students have expressed their intention to take classes or actively recommend other students when the classes are held. Effective classes will require systematic discussion guidance because flipped learning is closely related to discussion activities.

A Study on the Psychological Healing Effects of Korean Learners through K-POP Club Activities

  • This study aims to identify the positive effects of psychological healing in Korean language learners through participating in K-POP club activities. As the reasons for learning Korean are becoming more diverse, the learner-centered education is gaining much attention. We conducted real-time classes and surveys to verify if participating in the K-POP club activities brings more positive impacts in learning Korean. The survey results indicated that not only the participants felt psychological stability through club activities, it also improved their peer relationships among the learners and it enhanced their Korean language skills. Additionally, the learners felt a strong desire to recommend the club activities to other learners. The study confirmed that club activities have a positive effect on Korean language learners.

Analyses on the Perception's Differences of Online Teaching Activity according to the Level of Self-Directed Learning in Higher Education Using the IPA Technique

  • The purpose of this study was to identify learners' perception of teaching activities in online classes that were forcibly switched due to COVID-19, and to compare and analyze differences in importance and performance of online teaching activities according to the level of self-directed learning in university students. To address these goals, 31 university students who took courses operated as online classes at university participated in this study, and the collected data were analyzed according to IPA procedures and methods. As a result, for online teaching activities, class attendance check and encouragement, clarity of class objectives, the ability to deliver the content of learning, and the ability of the instructor to deliver lectures were identified as factors to be constantly emphasized. Depending on the level of self-directed learning, there were significant differences between importance and performance in high level learners' interaction strategy with instructor, interaction strategy with learner, and timely provision of instructor's feedback. On the other hand, there was no significant difference between the importance and performance of online teaching activities for learners with a low level of self-directed learning. Based on these research results, several implications for the design of effective online teaching activities in future university education were proposed.

초등학생의 휴대전화 중독적 사용과 학습활동의 종단적 관계 검증 : 성별 간 다집단 복합 분석 (Longitudinal Relationship between Addictive Use of Mobile Phones and Learning Activities for Elementary School Students : Multiple and Complex Group Analysis across Gender)

  • 본 연구는 초등학생의 휴대전화 중독적 사용과 학습활동의 종단적 관계를 분석함으로써 (1)시간의 경과에 따른 휴대전화 중독적 사용과 학습활동의 변화와 (2)상기 두 변수 간의 관계 방향성을 검증하고, (3)성별 간 다집단 복합 분석을 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 제 1~3차 한국아동 청소년패널 초4 데이터와 자기회귀교차지연모형 분석을 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 시간의 경과에 따라 초등학생의 휴대전화 중독적 사용과 학습활동은 지속적으로 정적 영향을 미치고, 이전 시점의 휴대전화 중독적 사용이 이후 시점의 학습활동에 부적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 단, 학습활동은 휴대전화 중독적 사용에 종단적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았고, 두 변수 간 종단적 관계 검정 결과에 대한 성별 간 차이는 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구는 연구결과를 바탕으로 초등학생의 휴대전화 중독적 사용 방지를 위한 지침 마련에 유용한 기초자료를 제공하였다.

도서관 평생학습활동의 성찰과 향방 (Reflection and Direction of Lifelong Learning Activities in the Public Libraries of Korea)

  • 모든 공공도서관은 지식정보센터와 게이트웨이로서의 정체성을 기반으로 개인과 집단에게 평생학습, 문화활동, 정보해득력 등을 제공해야 한다. 이러한 당위성에 입각하여 본 연구는 국내 공공도서관의 평생학습활동을 성찰하고 바람직한 지향성을 모색하였다. 미래의 공공도서관은 핵심역량과 평생학습의 연계성을 강화하고, 디지털 정보해득력을 제고시키는 프로그램을 개설하며, 특히 소외계층인 장애인과 노령자의 정보격차를 해소하기 위한 평생학습프로그램을 개발 제공해야 한다.

  • 이러닝에서의 커뮤니티 활동이 학습 참여도에 어떤 영향을 주며, 학습 만족에는 어느 정도 효과가 있는지에 대한 연구 자료를 바탕으로 연구 성과를 분석한다. 기존 연구로는 커뮤니티 활동의 특성과 학습 동기유발 수단, 학습참여도에 관한 내용을 기초로 정리하였으며, 커뮤니티 활동을 통해 친밀감을 형성하고, SMS, e-mail 등 학습수단이 학습참여도에 영향을 줄 수 있는 요인임을 알 수 있다.
