This paper describes a research work of developing automated progressive process planning system for working electric products. An approach to the CAD system in based on the knowledge-based rules. Knowledge for the CAD system is formulated from plasticity theories experimental results and the empirical knowledge of field experts. The system has been written in AutoLISP on the AutoCAD with a personal computer and is composed of three main modules which are input and shape treatment flat pattern layout and strip layout module. Based on knowledge-based rules the system is design by considering several factors such as radius and angle of bend material and thickness of product complexities of blank geometry and punch profile bending sequence and availability of press. Strip layout drawing automatically generated by piercing with punch profiles divided into for external area is simulated in 3-D graphic forms including bending sequences for the product with piercing and bending. Results obtained using the modules enable the manufacture of electronic products to be more efficient in this field.
The purpose of this study is basically for the use of simulations to enhance productivity. In this paper, the optimal number of allocation in a small and medium industry which produces eleutherococcus senticosus sap, is performed using simulations. The simulation model was developed under considerations of production layout, process & operation, process time, total work time, work in process (WIP), utilization, failure rate, and operation efficient as inputs, and was validated with careful comparisons between real behaviors and outputs of the production line. Therefore, we can evaluate effects and changes in productivity when some strategies and/or crucial factors are changed. Although too many workers and machines could decrease productivity, the eleutherococcus senticosus sap production line in this paper has been maintained many machines. To solve this problem, we determined the optimal number of workers and machines that could not cause any interrupt in productions using simulations. This simulation model considers diverse input variables which could influence productivity, and it is very useful not only for the production line of Eleutherococcus Senticosus Sap, but also for other production lines with various purposes, especially, in the small and medium industries.

Robot-based layout automation has been recently promoted for the purpose of improving productivity and quality. Marking robots have various functional demands to secure marking precision and environmental adaptability. In particular, in order to automate marking work of building structure, correction of the marking line through position recognition of rebars placed is required. Because the rebars must maintain a constant cover thickness from the formwork surface, if the rebars are out of planned position, the rebar or marking line need to be corrected to secure the cover thickness. Thus, the marking robot for structural work needs to have the function for determining the position correction of the rebar or the marking line. In order to judge the correction of marking line, it is required to measure the distance between the planned marking line and the rebar placed. Therefore, this study proposes an algorithm that can measure the distance between the planned line and the rebar, and correct marking line for the automatic operation of the marking robot. The results of this study will be utilized as a core function for unmanned operation of the marking robot and contribute to securing precise marking by reflecting construction errors.

Shipyard design and equipments layout problem, which are directly linked with the productivity of ship production, is an important issue serving as reference data of production plan for later massive production of ships. So far in many cases, design of a shipyard has been relying on the experienced engineers in shipbuilding, resulting in sporadic and poorly organized processes. And thus, economic losses as well as trials and errors in that accord have been pointed out as inevitable problems. This paper extracts a checklist of major elements to fine tune the shipbuilding yard designing process and the input/output data based on the simulation based shipbuilding yard layout designing framework and methodology proposed in existing researches, and executed initial architecture to develop software that integrates all the relevant processes and designing tools. In this course, both user request and design data by the steps are arranged and organized in the proposed layout design template form. In addition, simulation is done based on the parent shipbuilding process planning and scheduling data of the ship product, shipbuilding process and work stage facilities that constitute shipbuilding yard, and design items are verified and optimized with the layout and equipment list showing optimal process planning and scheduling effects. All the contents of this paper are based on simulation based shipbuilding yard layout designing methodology, and initial architecture processes are based on object oriented development methodology and system engineering methods.
The purpose of this study was to identify and categorize the space use characteristics of the university professor's office. The data were recorded and collected through the physical trace method. Acture Measurement. Photograph, sketch and CAD drawings were used to trace 118 professors offices at Yonse-University. The analysed features were the user characteristics, the size, characteristics of space (such as composition, layout and furniture arrangement), the appliance and the instrument characteristics. To categorize the 'space use' characteristics. 6 variables were used: 1) the territorial characteristics, 2) the spatial relationship between professor's territory and entrance, 3) the layout type of work area, 4) the spatial relationship between professor's and assistant's work area, 5) the arrangement of table, and 6) the completion of sofa set. The results of this study are expected to be used as a basis for the development of design alternatives for the most typical university professors' office.
As a frontier, the designers of today' s interactive inteIt'ace search for new ways to use technology as a tool of communication design, In interactive projects, the interlace has an important role to play by making it easy for users to get the infolmation they need, Good design makes information visible and manageable, The design goal for an interface is to clarify the information and to communicate with users, Interface designers should consider functionality as well as beautification of screen layouts in their progressive work, In this paper, I take a stnlctured approach to the subject of intcIt'ace study by concentrating on 10 critical elements of screen layout design and case studies of outstanding interface design projects, The reason I focused on these 10 critical interface elements, was to create the design of function and to avoid the mistake of many designers, which was easy to ignore the functionality of interface design to achieve the beautification of screen layouts.

Although there is an increase in demand for free-form buildings, there are several problems such as increased cost and duration and decreased constructability arising from difficult member production and installation. To solve these problems, a technology to produce free-form panels using CNC machine was developed. According to the technology, the information on free-form buildings designed is delivered to the CNC machine, a form is shaped using the delivered information and free-form concrete panels are produced using the form. The limited construction site, duration and project cost as well as interferences with other work types should be considered upon in-situ production of free-form concrete panels. Thus, the purpose of this study is to conduct a base study on in-situ production layout of free-form concrete panels by system dynamics. With this study, we will discover the causal relationship of influence factors on in-situ production of free-form concrete panels, and improved productivity is expected through the production layout.
Objective: The aim of this study is to review the ISO(the International Organization for Standardization) standards recommendations on a human error tolerant control room design. Background: ISO TC(Technical Committee) 159 published a variety of international standards on design of mental and physical work, design of displays and controls, and workstation layout design. A proper edition of these standards can be a good resource for a human error tolerant control center design guidelines. Method: Recommendations of ISO TC 159 standards were grouped into arrangement of control suite, layout of control room, layout and dimensions of workstations, design of displays and controls, environmental design, alarm, automation, management system design, procedure and training. Results: It was found that some standards on the design of supervisory control and data acquisition(SCADA), alarm, automation, layout, workload management, and environment can be used for human error prevention guidelines in the control center design. Conclusion: ISO TC 159 standards were not sufficient to cover all the ergonomics area of control center design. Application: Designers can have technical aids from these ISO standards to improve ergonomic performance of their control center.
