The Mansugol valley forest in Woraksan National Park was studied to investigate forest structure in relation to altitude and part of the slope. Forty eight quadrats were set up in the valley forest along altitude of 380m to 915m and part of the slope, and vegetation analysis for the woody species in the tree and subtree layers were carried out. With increasing elevation belt, tree density and basal area of the tree layer decreased while basal area of the subtree layer increased. As elevation increased, the importance percentages of Quercus mongolica, Fraxinus rhynchophylla, Lindera obtusiloba and Acer mono increased while those of Pinus densiflora, Quercus variablias Quercus serrata and Styrax obassia decreased. Species diversities of the elevation belts including the top of the valley ranged from 0.351 to 0.903, and those of the parts of the slope ranged from 0.780 to 1.064. The range of similarity indices between elevation belts were $36.0\~67.3\%$, and the range of similarity indices between parts of the slope were $66.8\~75.1\%$. According to importance percentage and cluster analysis, the studied valley forest was classified into three forest communities of Pinus densiflora-Quecus species community in the low elevation belt and the middle part of the slope at the middle elevation belt, Quercus mongolica-broad-leaved tree species community in the high elevation belt and the lower and upper parts at the middle elevation belt, and Quercus mongolica community in the top area of the valley. The importace percentage of Quercus mongolica was significantly and negatively correlated with those of Pinus desiflora and Quercus serrata. There were significantly positive correlation among Pinus densiflora, Quercuss serata and Rhus trichocarpa.
The calculation method of infiltration loss in greenhouse has different ideas in each design standard, so there is a big difference in each method according to the size of greenhouses, it is necessary to establish a more accurate method that can be applied to the domestic. In order to provide basic data for the formulation of the calculation method of greenhouse heating load, we measured the infiltration rates using the tracer gas method in plastic greenhouses equipped with various thermal curtains. And then the calculation methods of infiltration loss in greenhouses were reviewed. Infiltration rates of the multi-span and single-span greenhouses were measured in the range of $0.042{\sim}0.245h^{-1}$ and $0.056{\sim}0.336h^{-1}$ respectively, single-span greenhouses appeared to be slightly larger. Infiltration rate of the greenhouse has been shown to significantly decrease depending on the number of thermal curtain layers without separation of single-span and multi-span. As the temperature differences between indoor and outdoor increase, the infiltration rates tended to increase. In the range of low wind speed during the experiments, changes of infiltration rate according to the outdoor wind speed could not find a consistent trend. Infiltration rates for the greenhouse heating design need to present the values at the appropriate temperature difference between indoor and outdoor. The change in the infiltration rate according to the wind speed does not need to be considered because the maximum heating load is calculated at a low wind speed range. However the correction factors to increase slightly the maximum heating load including the overall heat transfer coefficient should be applied at the strong wind regions. After reviewing the calculation method of infiltration loss, a method of using the infiltration heat transfer coefficient and the greenhouse covering area was found to have a problem, a method of using the infiltration rate and the greenhouse volume was determined to be reasonable.
This investigation examined the effect of lateral shift of mandible from functional occlusal interference on the growth of mandible and the growth pattern of mandible shown after the removal of occlusal interference. The followings were performed with the results below : the changes in mandible and condylar cartilage were studied in the experimental group with upper right, lower left incisors cut for 2 and 4 weeks- an 4-week-old rats and the experimental group which had cut for 4 weeks and suspended for 2 weeks. 1. In the 2-week experimental group, the left mandibular length, condylar length, mandibular height and condylar area seemed smaller than those on the right and the normal group ; the right mandibular length and condylar area were smaller than the normal group. 2. In the 4-week experimental group, left condylar area was smaller than the right, but due to the quick changes in adaptability of left mandible, right and left mandibular lengths were similar. compared with the normal group, however, mandibular length and condylar area still remained small. 3. In the 6-week experimental group, the left and the right appeared similar with the mandibular length remaining still shorter than the normal group. 4. In the sagittal plane, the proliferation of the cartilage layers of the left condylar cartilage of the 2-week group appeared to have general repression compared with the right and the normal group. The right side also showed repressed growth compared with the normal group. In the 4 and 6-week groups, however, it was similar to the normal group. 5. In condylar cartilage volume, no significant difference was noted in the comparisions of left and right of the experimental group, nor in the comparison of the same sides of experimental wand normal groups. Based on the above, in case of contralateral incisal cutting in rats, it was observed that the growth of mandible and condyle of the cutting side was repressed, at the same time, the quick adaptability led to similar changes of growth in left and right mandibles. But judging from the similar phenomena throughout the whole experimental period in the changes of condylar cartilage volume in the experimental, right and left, and normal groups, the general overall growth of condylar cartilage was found unrepressed. It was also recognized that the growth of condylar cartilage can take in various directions.
Although several studies have reported that Cr, Cu and As can leach from CCA-treated woods, few studies have been conducted on this topic in Korea. Therefore, this study was conducted to monitor Cr, Cu and As leaching from CCA-treated wood products and to develop a rapid identification method for CCA-treated wood products by using indicators such as PAN stain. Soil samples were collected at depths of 0-70 cm and wood samples were collected by thickness of wood layer. The soil and wood samples were then digested and analyzed for Cr, Cu and As concentrations using an atomic absorption spectrometer. The As and Cu concentrations decreased sharply with depth from 34.38 and 33.65 mg $kg^{-1}$ at 0-1 cm to 1.72 and 7.84 mg $kg^{-1}$ at 70 cm, respectively. In general, As was more mobile than Cr and Cu in the soil. For wood samples, the Cr, Cu and As concentrations were higher in the outer layer (0-0.5cm) than the inner layers (0.6-4.5cm). Evaluation of rapid identification methods revealed that 100% acetone with 0.1% PAN indicator was the best combination for detection of CCA-treated wood in the field.

A web-based instruction program for the enriched course under the 7th Revised National Curriculum of Biology in Korea was developed and the application effects to learners were analyzed. For the development of the web-based instruction program, five topics of biology from the enriched courses through 7th to 10th grades in the middle and high school science textbooks were selected and modulated with interrogative sentences. Each topic of programs was divided into four activity sections according to the learners' activity procedures supplemented with explanations and evaluations. Each activity was hyper-linked to multi-layers and animations. Further, a virtual experiment was also developed and an evaluation section designed by Java Script was attached. Among five topics, one topic of 'Reproduction and development' at 9th grade level was selected to examine the effects on students' learning. Among 247 9th grade students in the research subject school, only 67 students were able to accessible to ultra-thin Internet cables with their computers at home and they became an experimental group. A control group was assigned to those who are similar level of school science achievement to the experiment group and did not use the web-based program. It was found that most of 9th grade students are able to use Internet at home, however, they do not prefer to use Internet for homework or task project. Rather, most of students used Internet for e-mail or information navigation. Students used internet to solve problems of science and perceived the benefits of Internet for science learning. However, there are not many students to utilize Internet for science homework or task project. Students expressed that they do not prefer to use a web-based learning program for science learning due to lack of interests in science. The effects on students who studied with this program appeared to be significantly high compared to those who did not study with this program. Students who studied with this program positively evaluated this program, in particular, they enjoyed animation effect and virtual experiments. It was concluded that a web-based program for science learning should be developed and distributed through Internet in an attractive and interesting format for students. It was also concluded that various web-based programs for science learning with animation effect and virtual experiments should be developed to increase students' interests in science as well as to improve students' science achievements.
Recently, stratigraphic reservoirs are getting more attention than structural reservoirs which have mostly developed. However, recognizing stratigraphic thin gas reservoirs in a stacked section is usually difficult because of tuning effects. Moreover, if the reflections from the brine-saturated region of a thin layer have the same polarity with those from the gas-saturated region, we could not easily identify the gas reservoir with conventional data processing technique. In this study, we introduced a way to delineate the gas-saturated region in a thin layer reservoir using a spectral decomposition method. First of all, amplitude spectrum with the variation of the frequency and the incident angle was investigated for the medium which represents property of Class 3, Class 1 or Class 4 AVO response. The results show that the maximum difference in the amplitude spectra between brine and gas-saturated thin layers occurs around the peak frequency independent of the incident angle and the type of AVO responses. In addition, the amplitude spectra of the gas-saturated zone are greater than those of brine-saturated one in Class 3 and Class 4 at the peak frequency while those of phenomenon occur oppositely in Class 1. Based on the results, we applied spectral decomposition method to the stacked section in order to distinguish the gas-saturated zone from the brine-saturated zone in a thin layer reservoir. To verify our new method, we constructed a thin-layer velocity model which contains both gas and brine-saturated zones which have the same reflection polarities. As a result, in the spectral decomposed sections near the peak frequency obtained by Wigner-Ville Distribution (WVD), we could identify the difference between reflections from gas- and brinesaturated region in the thin layer reservoir, which was hardly distinguishable in the stacked section.
Vegetation structure and distribution of the vascular hydrophytes and hygrophytes, and the growth pattern, standing crop and amounts of nutrient uptake by Salix species were investigated in the upper stream wetlands of the Namgang-Dam, Chinju-city, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea from April to November in 1997. The flora was composed of 43 hydrophytes and 241 hygrophytes, or total 284 vascular plants. The life forms of the hydrophytes were classified as 27 kinds of emergent plants, 4 floating-leaved plants, 3 free-floating plants, and 9 submersed plants. In the herb layer, the dominant species was Persicaria hyciropiper, and the ranges of the species diversity indices (H'), equitabilities, (J') and community similarity indices (CCs) were 1.59~1.89, 0.87~0.96, and 0.35~0.83, respectively. In the shrub and subtree layers, 17 kinds of Salix species were supposed to the pioneer plants at the early stage of the succession. The number of branches per main stem of Salix species was 5.0. The DBH class-frequency histograms of Salix species were the reverse J type, and the natural regeneration of the Salix community was expected. Basal area of Salix species per square meter was $24.87cm^2$. Volume of Salix species per square meter was $12,008cm^3$ and total phytomass of the Salix species was estimated as 12,894 ton. Biomass distribution of Salix species in the stem, the branch and twig, and the leaf was 64.1%, 28.1%, and 7.8%, respectively. The amounts of nitrogen and phosphorus absorbed by Salix species were 68,022 and 19,823 kg. It was recommended that application and conservation of the wetland and other counterplans are indispensable to reduce the adverse effects of water pollution and to preserve the wetland ecosystem.

This paper reviews the results of recent observations in the Yeonsuri valley of Mt. Youngmun during springtime (March to May) in 2012. Automated weather stations were installed at twelve sites in the valley to measure temperature and 2, 3 dimensional wind. We examined temporal and spatial characteristics of temperatures and wind data. The Yeonsuri valley springtime average temperature lapse rate between the top and bottom of the entire period is $-0.44^{\circ}C/100$ m. It can be changed by the synoptic weather conditions, the lapse rates is greatest in order of clear days ($-0.48^{\circ}C/100$ m), rainy ($-0.41^{\circ}C/100$ m) and cloudy days ($-0.40^{\circ}C/100$ m). In the night, the temperature inversion layer (thermal belt) and the cold pool are formed within the valley. In addition, we measured temperature and wind distribution from the bottom to 3.5 m, the cold layers existed up to 1.5 m, which were affected by ground mixed layer. The results will provide useful guidance on agricultural practices as well as model simulations.

In this paper, we developed a flexible transparent capacitive pressure sensor which can recognize X and Y coordinates and the size of force simultaneously by sensing a change in electrical capacitance. The flexible transparent capacitive pressure sensor was composed of 3 layers which were top electrode, pressure sensing layer, and bottom electrode. Silver nanowire(Ag NW)/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) hybrid film was used for top and bottom flexible transparent electrode. The fabricated capacitive pressure sensor had a total size of 5 inch, and was composed of 11 driving line and 19 sensing line channels. The electrical, optical properties of the Ag NW/PEDOT:PSS and capacitive pressure sensor were investigated respectively. The mechanical flexibility was also investigated by bending tests. Ag NW/PEDOT:PSS exhibited the sheet resistance of $44.1{\Omega}/square$, transmittance of 91.1%, and haze of 1.35%. Notably, the Ag NW/PEDOT:PSS hybrid electrode had a constant resistance change within a bending radius of 3 mm. The bending fatigue tests showed that the Ag NW/PEDOT:PSS could withstand 200,000 bending cycles which indicated the superior flexibility and durability of the hybrid electrode. The flexible transparent capacitive pressure sensor showed the transmittance of 84.1%, and haze of 3.56%. When the capacitive pressure sensor was pressed with the multiple 2 mm-diameter tips, it can well detect the force depending on the applied pressure. This indicated that the capacitive pressure sensor is a promising scheme for next generation flexible transparent touch screens which can provide multi-tasking capabilities through simultaneous multi-touch and multi-force sensing.

The goal of this research is to examine air temperature changes according to tree type, plantation type, roadside green area structure, and green volume of street green area within a city. The plantation type that could be analyzed for comparison by tree type with over 3 species was 1 rows of tree+shrubs. The results of analysis of average air temperature difference between pedestrian and car streets vis-a-vis 1 row of tree+shrub in high air temperature areas were: Pinus densiflora, $1.35^{\circ}C$; Zelkova serrata, $1.84^{\circ}C$; Ginkgo biloba, $2.00^{\circ}C$; Platanus occidentalis, $2.57^{\circ}C$. This standard large wide canopy species was analyzed by the roadside to provide shade to have a significant impact on air temperature reduction. In terms of analysis of the relationship between plantation type of roadside trees and air temperature, the average air temperature difference for 1 row of tree type was $1.80^{\circ}C$; for 2 rows of trees it was $2.15^{\circ}C$. In terms of analysis of the relationship between the roadside green area structure and air temperature, for tree type, average air temperature $1.94^{\circ}C$: for tree+shrub type, average air temperature $2.49^{\circ}C$; for tree+mid-size tree+shrub type, average air temperature $2.57^{\circ}C$. That is, air temperature reduction was more effective in a multi-layer structure than a single layer structure. In the relationship analysis of green volume and air temperature reduction, the air temperature reduction effect was enlarged as there was a large amount of green volume. There was a relationship with the green volume of the road, the size of the tree and number of tree layers and a multi-layer structured form of planting. The canopy volume was large and there were a great number of rows of the tree layer and the plantation type of multi-layer structure, which is what is meant through a relationship with the green volume along the roadside. Green composition standards for air temperature reduction effects and functional improvement were proposed based on the result. For a pedestrian street width of 3m or less in the field being ideal, deciduous broadleaf trees in which the canopy volume is small and the structure of the tree+shrub type through the greatest 1m green bend were proposed. For a pedestrian street width of over 3m, deciduous broadleaf trees in which the canopy volume is large and is multi-layer planted with green bend over 1m, tree+mid-size tree+shrub type was proposed.
