Geometric and thermal errors are key contributors to the errors of a computer numerically controlled turning center. A planar error synthesis model is obtained by synthesizing 11 geometric and thermal error components of a turning center with homogeneous coordinate transformation method. This paper shows the sensitivity analysis on the temperature change, the confidence evaluation on the uncertainty Of measurement systems, and the error contribution analysis from the planar error synthesis model. Planar error in the z direction was very sensitive to the temperature change. and planar errors in the x and z directions were not affected by the uncertainty of measurement systems. The error contribution analysis ,which is applicable to designing a new turning center, was helpful to find the large error components which affect planar errors of the turning center.

The distance vector-hop (DV-Hop) is one of the emblematic algorithms that use node connectivity for locating, which often accompanies by a large positioning error. To reduce positioning error, the bio-inspired algorithm and weight optimization model are introduced to address positioning. Most scholars argue that the weight value decreases as the hop counts increases. However, this point of view ignores the intrinsic relationship between the error and weight. To address this issue, this paper constructs the relationship model between error and hop counts based on actual communication characteristics of sensor nodes in wireless sensor network. Additionally, we prove that the error converges to 1/6CR when the hop count increase and tendency to infinity. Finally, this paper presents a modified error-oriented weight positioning model, and implements it with genetic algorithm. The experimental results demonstrate excellent robustness and error removal.

Massive (large-scale) MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) is one of the key technologies in next-generation wireless communication systems. This paper proposes a high-performance low-complexity turbo receiver for SC-FDMA (single-carrier frequency-division multiple access) based MMIMO (massive MIMO) systems. Because SC-FDMA technology has the desirable characteristics of OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access) and the low PAPR (peak-to-average power ratio) of SC transmission schemes, the 3GPP LTE (long-term evolution) has adopted it as the uplink transmission to meet the demand high data rate and low error rate performance. The complexity of computing will be increased greatly in base station with massive MIMO (MMIMO) system. In this paper, a low-complexity adaptive turbo equalization receiver based on normalized minimal symbol-error-rate for MMIMO SC-FDMA system is proposed. The proposed receiver is with low complexity than that of the conventional turbo MMSE (minimum mean square error) equalizer and is also with better bit error rate (BER) performance than that of the conventional adaptive turbo MMSE equalizer. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
This paper presents a new quantisation algorithm which has the closed-loop form and guarantees the boundness of accumulative error. This algorithm is particularly useful for mobile robot navigation that is usually implemented on embedded systems. If wheel commands of the mobile robot are given by velocity or positional increment at every control instant and quantised due to finite word length of controller's CPU, the quantisation error gets accumulated to causes large position error. Such an error accumulative characteristic is fatal for non wheeled mobile robots or autonomous vehicles with non-holonomic constraint. To solve this problem, we propose a non-error accumulative quantisation algorithm with closed-loop form. We also show it can be extend to a generalized form corresponding to the n-th order accumulation. The boundness of the accumulative quantisation error is investigated by a series of computer simulation. The proposed method is particularly effective to precise navigation control the autonomous mobile robots.
The numerical techniques are presented to solve the static and dynamic contact problems of deformable bodies having large rotations of the contact surfaces. The contact conditions on the possible contact surfaces are enforced by using the contact error vector, and an iterative scheme similar to augmented Lagrange multiplier method is employed to reduce the contact error vector monotonically. For dynamic contact problems using implicit time integration, a contact error vector is also defined by combining the displacement, velocity, and acceleration on the contact surface. The suggested iterative technique is implemented to ABAQUS by using the UEL subroutine UEL. In this work, after the computing procedures to solve the frictional contact problems are explained, the numerical examples are presented to compare the present solutions with those obtained by ABAQUS.
Local heating transportation pipe has sensor and return lines to detect water-leakage. There are impulse and resistance comparison measurement types for a water-leakage detection. The impulse type shows large detection error within a measurement range. Since the resistance comparison type can find a comparative accurate single water-leakage point in the measurement range of heating pipe, it has been used to detect water-leakages these days. However if the multi water-leakages are happened in the measurement range of transportation pipe. the resistance comparison type shows a detection error point by the parallel resistance between a detection sensor line and ground. But the detection error will be minimized by the divided transportation pipe loops. In this research, it suggests the design of remote controlled detection system which can divide a large pipe loop and a possible single water-leakage measurement process in each divided loops.
We have studied the structures and stabilities of Au6 to explore the origin of the large discrepancy between relative energies obtained from the density functional theory (DFT) and ab initio correlated levels of theory. The MP2 methods significantly overestimate the stability of the non-planar isomer when the double-$\zeta$ polarization quality of basis sets, such as LANL2DZ+1f and CEP31G+1f, are used. However, we show that such preference for the non-planar structure at the MP2 level mainly originates from the large basis set superposition error.
A discrete state space model for a multiple-reach river system is formulated using the dynamics of biochemical oxygen demand(BOD) and dissolved oxygen(DO). A hierarchical optimization technique, which is applicable to large-scale systems with time-delays in states, is also described to control stream quality in a river as an optimal manner based on the interaction prediction method. The steady state tracking error of the proposed method is determined analytically and a necessary and sufficient condition on which a constant target tracking problem has zero steady-state error is derived. Computer simulations for the river pollution model illustrate the algorithm.

Singh's multi-level method is extended to the optimal tracking control of a large interconnected dynamical system which has coupled states and coupled inputs. The steady-state tracking error and a convergence condition for the extended multi-level method are derived analytically and the results show that the steady-state tracking error and a convergence rate have to be compromised. Also, a new multi-level method which is advantageous over the Singh's method in steady-state tracking error and computational burden is proposed by introducing nominal inputs into the performance index. The resulting feedback gain matrix and the compensation vector are optimal for all initial conditions so that eventual on-line computation is minimal.
When conducting large-scale cohort studies, numerous statistical issues arise from the range of study design, data collection, data analysis and interpretation. In genomic cohort studies, these statistical problems become more complicated, which need to be carefully dealt with. Rapid technical advances in genomic studies produce enormous amount of data to be analyzed and traditional statistical methods are no longer sufficient to handle these data. In this paper, we reviewed several important statistical issues that occur frequently in large-scale genomic cohort studies, including measurement error and its relevant correction methods, cost-efficient design strategy for main cohort and validation studies, inflated Type I error, gene-gene and gene-environment interaction and time-varying hazard ratios. It is very important to employ appropriate statistical methods in order to make the best use of valuable cohort data and produce valid and reliable study results.
