  • In this paper, the radiative electric field intensity due to the communication signal and conductive noise is calculated in overhead medium voltage power lines for power line communication. The input impedance is calculated by means of 2 port equivalent model of medium voltage power line network and basic transmission line theory. And then, currents is calculated by calculated input impedance and finally, the emissive electric field is calculated. The input impedance appears like a standing wave form with a fixed cycle because high reflection at the input terminal due to the characteristic impedance of medium voltage power line is very large. A calculated current and radiative electric field also appears like this form. From the measurement results, the measured results are very similar to the calculated results.

  • We present a new model for the generation of magnetic fields on large scales occurring at the end of cosmological reionisation. The inhomogeneous radiation provided by luminous sources and the fluctuations in the matter density field are the major ingredients of the model. More specifically, differential radiation pressure acting on ions and electrons gives rise to electric currents which induce magnetic fields on large scales. We show that on protogalactic scales, this process is highly efficient, leading to magnetic field amplitudes of the order of $10^{-1l}$ Gauss. While remaining of negligible dynamical impact, those amplitudes are million times higher than those obtained in usual astrophysical magnetogenesis models. Finally, we derive the relation between the power spectrum of the generated field and the one of the matter density fluctuations. We show in particular that magnetic fields are preferably created on large (galactic or cluster) scales. Small scale magnetic fields are strongly disfavoured, which further makes the process we propose an ideal candidate to explain the origin of magnetic fields in large scale structures.

  • Cost-effective high precision hybrid elements are presented in a hierarchical form for dynamic analysis of plates. The costs associated with controlling the vibrations of ferromagnetic plates can be minimized by adequate determination of the amount of electric current and magnetic field. In the present study, the effect of magnetic field and electric current on nonlinear vibrations of ferromagnetic plates is investigated. The general form of Lorentz forces and Maxwell's equations have been considered for the first time to present new relationships for electromagnetic interaction forces with ferromagnetic plates. In order to derive the governing nonlinear differential equations, the theory of third-order shear deformations of three-dimensional plates has been applied along with the von Kármán large deformation strain-displacement relations. Afterward, the nonlinear equations are discretized using the Galerkin method, and the effect of various parameters is investigated. According to the results, electric current and magnetic field have different effects on the equivalent stiffness of ferromagnetic plates. As the electric current increases and the magnetic field decreases, the equivalent stiffness of the plate decreases. This is a phenomenon reported here for the first time. Furthermore, the magnetic field has a more significant effect on the steady-state deflection of the plate compared to the electric current. Increasing the magnetic field and electric current by 10-times results in a reduction of about 350% and an increase of 3.8% in the maximum steady-state deflection, respectively. Furthermore, the nonlinear frequency decreases as time passes, and these changes become more intense as the magnetic field increases.

  • In this paper, we study the computation of the electric field of dielectric analysis models with the conductivity on its surface. The finite element formulation describes a sinusoidal electrodynamic field computation. One term is added to this functional in order to take the conductivity on its surface into accounts. The electric field computations of the dielectric analysis model are done first with the surface conductivity and second with the volume conductivity. Also, it is shown that a surface conductor with sufficiently large conductivity can be substituted with a floating equipotential line. This method is applied to an insulator in arbitrary shape with the conductivity on its surface.

  • The superconducting synchronous generator is one of the breakthrough elements for direct-drive wind turbines because it is light and small. Normally the superconducting one has copper armature windings in the stator and superconducting field windings on the rotor. The high resistance of the armature can make large copper losses, comparing with the conventional generators with a gear box. One of the solutions for the large copper losses could be a fully superconducting generator. But the high magnetic fields from the superconducting field windings on the rotor also make high perpendicular magnetic fields on the superconducting tapes in the armature windings. We have proposed a fully superconducting synchronous generator with dual field windings. It could immensely decrease the circumferential component of the magnetic field from the field windings at the armature windings. In this paper, we conceptually designed 3 types of superconducting synchronous generators. The first one is the fully superconducting one with conventional structure, which has superconducting armature windings in the stator and superconducting field windings on the rotor. The second one is the one with dual superconducting field windings and superconducting armature windings between them. The last one is the same as the third one except the structure of the armature. If the concentrated armature windings are superconducting ones with cryostats, then they cannot be installed within the span of 2 poles. So, we adopted 3 phases windings within 4 poles system. It makes more AC losses but can be manufactured really.

  • We propose a simple method to control the crystallization depth of amorphous silicon (a-Si) deposited by PECVD or LPCVD during the excimer laser annealing (ELA). Employing the new method, we have formed poly-Si/a-Si double film and fabricated a new poly-Si TFT with vertical a-Si offsets between the poly-Si channel and the source/drain of TFT without any additional photo-lithography process. The maximum leakage current of the new poly-Si TFT decreased about 80% due to the highly resistive vertical a-Si offsets which reduce the peak electric field in drain depletion region and suppress electron-hole pair generation. In ON state, current flows spreading down through broad a-Si cross-section in the vertical a-Si offsets and the current density in the drain depletion region where large electric field is applied is reduced. The stability of poly-Si TFT has been improved noticeably by suppressing trap state generation in drain region which is caused by high current density and large electric field. For example, ON current of the new TFT decreased only 7% at a stress condition where ON current of conventional TFT decreased 89%.

  • We have to consider the drain current as consisting of two components the vertical electric field and the longitudinal electric field because the drain current is almost totally due to the presence of drift in strong inversion of n-MOS FET. Especially the mobility of electrons in the inversion layer is smaller than the bulk mobility because the vertical electric field component that is generated by the effect of the gate voltage is perpendicular to the direction of normal current flow. By the multi-box segmentation technical method that are proposed in this paper we calculated the inversion layer depth and analyzed the vertical electric field component which has an large influence on mobility model.

  • The 33-mode dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Pb(In1/2Nb1/2)O3-Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 piezoelectric single crystals were measured under large electric field and compressive stress. The phase transition from the low temperature rhombohedral to the high temperature tetragonal structure was observed in the range of 110~140℃, and the Curie temperature changing to the cubic structure was about 165℃. The polarization change according to the compressive stress and electric field was measured. Relative dielectric constant was calculated from the slope of the polarization curve applied to the electric field, and the calculated relative dielectric constant increased as the applied stress increased, and the relative dielectric constant decreased as the applied electric field increased. The strain according to the compressive stress and electric field change was measured, the piezoelectric constant was calculated from the slope of the curve, and the phase transition according to the application of pressure was confirmed. In the case of practical application as an underwater or medical ultrasonic actuator, it is necessary to properly design the magnitude of the compressive stress applied to the device and the DC bias in order to maintain linear driving.
