Purpose - How are gains from trade distributed between countries when economic integration is achieved through free trade? The purpose of this paper is to answer this question. Design/methodology/approach - This study attempts to address the issue of distribution of trade gains between participating countries following economic integration in terms of positive economics. The analysis is therefore based on a theoretical methodology. Findings - First, commodity prices fall and consumer surplus increases in both large and small countries. Second, when economic integration into free trade is achieved, gains from trade always exist in small countries. However, the size of trade gains depends on the degree of difference from the market size of the partner country, the large country. However, the size of the gains from trade depends on the extent of difference between the market size of the large country. If the market size of a large country is much larger and there is a large difference, trade gains will be very large, whereas if the market size is similar, profits of domestic firm will decrease. Therefore, in that case, the size of the gains from trade becomes relatively small because only the gains from exchange exists. On the other hand, in a large country with a large market size, there is a possibility of trade gains only when the market size is similar to that of a small country, which is a trading partner. However, if there is a large difference in market size, the decrease in profits of domestic firm is relatively larger than the increase in consumer surplus due to trade, and rather, a trade loss occurs. Research implications or Originality - Our analysis contributes to filling the gaps in the literature regarding the distribution of gains from trade, and from a policy point of view, it is meaningful in examining the impact of market size, an important variable considered in regional economic integration of countries.
The rapid advancement of generative large language models has revolutionized various real-life domains, emphasizing the importance of exploring their applications in healthcare. This study aims to examine how generative large language models are implemented in the medical domain, with the specific objective of searching for the possibility and potential of integration between generative large language models and East Asian medicine. Through a comprehensive current state analysis, we identified limitations in the deployment of generative large language models within East Asian medicine and proposed directions for future research. Our findings highlight the essential need for accumulating and generating structured data to improve the capabilities of generative large language models in East Asian medicine. Additionally, we tackle the issue of hallucination and the necessity for a robust model evaluation framework. Despite these challenges, the application of generative large language models in East Asian medicine has demonstrated promising results. Techniques such as model augmentation, multimodal structures, and knowledge distillation have the potential to significantly enhance accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility. In conclusion, we expect generative large language models to play a pivotal role in facilitating precise diagnostics, personalized treatment in clinical fields, and fostering innovation in education and research within East Asian medicine.

The study set up research models and hypotheses to examine the influence of HMR selection attributes on satisfaction and repurchase intention by distribution channels(convenience store/large market), verify the research hypothesis through empirical analysis, respectively. The purpose of this study is to investigate the convenience sampling method of HMR purchase from convenience store and large market in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. The survey was conducted from January 8, 2018 to January 26, 2018, and 300 questionnaires were distributed and 289 of them were used as an effective data. For the empirical analysis, SPSS 20.0 was used. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, product quality only has a significant effect on satisfaction among HMR selection attributes at convenience store, and product safety and convenience have no significant effect on satisfaction. Second, only the convenience of HMR selection attributes in the large market has a significant effect on satisfaction, and product safety and product quality have no significant effect on satisfaction. Third, HMR satisfaction in convenience stores and large markets has a significant effect on repurchase intention. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among HMR selection attributes, satisfaction, and repurchase intention, which are important in the existing HMR research, by each distribution channel(convenience store/large market). It is meaningful to help them establish an effective sales strategy for each segment.
This paper discusses the issues associated with modeling frictional contact between solid bodies undergoing large deformations. The most common model for friction on contact interfaces in solid mechanics is the Coulomb friction model, in which two distinct responses are possible: stick and slip. Handling the transition between these two phases computationally has been a source of algorithmic instability, lack of convergence and non-unique solutions, particularly in the presence of large deformations. Most computational models for frictional contact have used penalty or updated Lagrangian approaches to enforce frictional contact conditions. These two approaches, however, present some computational challenges due to conditioning issues in penalty-type implementations and the iterative nature of the updated Lagrangian formulation, which, particularly in large simulations, may lead to relatively slow convergence. Alternatively, a plasticity-inspired implementation of frictional contact has been shown to handle the stick-slip conditions in a local, algorithmically efficient manner that substantially reduces computational cost and successfully avoids the issues of instability and lack of convergence often reported with other methods (Laursen and Simo 1993). The formulation of this approach, however, has been limited to the small deformations realm, a fact that severely limited its application to contact problems where large deformations are expected. In this paper, we present an algorithmically consistent formulation of this method that preserves its key advantages, while extending its application to the realm of large-deformation contact problems. We show that the method produces results similar to the augmented Lagrangian formulation at a reduced computational cost.
A large number of the set-nets are set in Namhaedo coast of Korea. The floats of these set-nets are not only small even in case of large floats but also they scarcely have distinguishable marks such as light buoys or flags, so that they are very hard to be recognized by naked eyes and thus became probable obstacles to navigation for the passing ships and the fishing vessels. In order to research the capability of detecting such nets with Radar, the author investigated a maximum detectable range of the ordinarly large floatsand of a floating corner reflectors of various size and shape by Radar. The results obtained are as follows; 1. A maximum detectable range of large floats at a close range can be calculated by the Radar equation in sufficient accuracy. 2. Large floats of the large set-nets are also detectable by Radar even though it's detectable range boundary was within 0.2-0.65 miles. And the Radar picture of large floats was easier to be found with somewhat higher setting of the gain control on shorter range scale of the 1 mile. 3. Floating corner reflector rather suitable for set-net floats of "S" type reflector proposed in this paper, of which the dimension must be above 17cm in diameter to be detectable by Radar at 2 miles.t 2 miles.
The large surface micro machining system includes the equipments and processes for manufacturing the ultra precision micro patterned products with large surface through the mechanical machining. Recent major issue on the micro machining technology may be the development of optical parts for the back light unit of display which has the largest market. This special issue makes up with three parts; the large surface micro machining system and machine, machining process and forming process. In this paper, the state-of-the-art and core technology of large surface micro machining system is introduced with focus on the manufacturing technology for the back light unit of LCD TV. Then, some research results on the development of a roll die lathe is introduced which involves the concept of machine design, improvement of thermal characteristics in the spindle system, improvement of relative parallelism and straightness between spindle system and long stroke feed table, machining of micro pitch patterns. Finally, the direct forming process is introduced as the future work in the large surface micro machining field.
Objective : Many vascular neurosurgeons tend to remove bone flap in patients with large aneurysmal intracerebral hematomas (ICH). However, relatively little work has been done regarding the effectiveness of prophylactic decompressive craniectomy in a patient with a large aneurysmal ICH. Methods : Large ICH was defined as hematoma when its volume exceeded 25 mL, ipsilateral to aneurysms. The patients were divided into two groups; aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) associated with large ICH, January, 1994 - December, 1999 (Group A, 41 patients), aneurysmal SAH associated with large ICH, January, 2000 - May, 2005 (Group 8, 27 patients). Demographic and clinical variables including age, sex, hypertension, vasospasm, rebleeding, Hunt-Hess grade, aneurysm location, aneurysm size, and outcome were compared between two groups, and also compared between craniotomy and craniectomy patients in Group A. Results : In Group A. 21 of 41 patients underwent prophylactic decompressive craniectomy. In Group 8, only two patients underwent craniectomy. Surgical outcome in Group A (good 23, poor 18) was statistically not different from Group 8 (good 15, poor 12). Surgical outcomes between craniectomy (good 12, poor 9) and craniotomy cases (good 11, poor 9) in Group A were also comparable. Conclusion : We recommend that a craniotomy can be carried out safely without prophylactic craniectomy in patients with a large aneurysmal ICH if intracranial pressure is controllable with hematoma evacuation.
Number of dairy cow patients treated at Hyup Doug Large Animal Clinic during the year July 1,1965, through June 30, 1966, were amounted to 485 cases and the result of analysis of disease incidence during one year period were us follows; 1. In the etiologic diagnostic categories, diseases caused by static mechanical abnormality were most productive and 28.1% of all diagnoses involved in this category. 2. In the topographic diagnostic categories, 39.4% of all diagnoses involved the urogenital system and were obeserved most productive. 3. As a result of each topographic diagnostic categories were subdivided into disease entities, 13.4% of all diagnoses involved the retained placenta and this were observed most productive in the miscellaneous disease enties. Next productive diseases were miscellaneous ovarian disease (10.9%), indigestion (10.3%), mastitis (8.0%) and metritis (6.8%) chronologically.
An experimental study was made of a large-scale vortical structure over a backward-facing step. The Reynolds number based on the step height was R $e_{H}$ =33,000. To recognize the large-scale vortex, three components of velocity were measured. The measurements were performed in the recirculation zone (x/H=4.0) and the reattachment zone(x/H=7.5). To measure the wall pressure fluctuations in a turbulent flow over a backward-facing step, a 32-channel microphone array was installed beneath the wall in the streamwise and spanwise directions. From the measured pressure field, the size of large-scale vortex was obtained. As a detailed study, a conditionally-averaging technique was employed to characterize the coherent structure of the large-scale vortex. To see the relationship between the flow field and the relevant spatial mode of the pressure field, the spatial box filtering (SBF) was examined. A cross-correlation between velocity and pressure fluctuations was performed to identify the structure and the length scale of the large-scale vortex.x.
