Benign fibrous histiocytoma (FH) is a benign tumor composed of fibroblasts and histiocytes in varying proportions. This tumor is usually found in adult extremities but rarely occurs in deep soft tissues of the oral cavity. As it is difficult to diagnose with physical and radiologic exams, deep benign FH can only be diagnosed by histopathology. We report a case of a 36-year-old female patient who came to our department with painless swelling in the right buccal mucosa. This case report reviews the clinical, radiological, and histological aspects of this tumor.

A 30 year-old female patient with papillary thyroid carcinoma received her fifth radioiodine ablation therapy after the subtotal thyroidectomy. The scan, which was peformed one week after the last therapy, revealed residual uptake in the thyroid bed and uptake in the anterior mediastinum suggesting metastasis. However, further evaluation of the thorax with chest CT and camera-based FDG PET confirmed normal thymus without metastatic focus. Occasionally thymus remains intact in adult and has avidity for I-131 and FDG. Therefore, normal thymus (instead of metastasis) should be considered in patients with well differentiated thyroid carcinoma and anterior mediastinal radioiodine uptake.

The most recent, Jeong and Nakabo (1997) described Raja koreana as a new species based on an adult female specimen collected from the southwestern coast of Korean Peninsula. Raja koreana has several unique characters not shared with any other supraspecific taxa of Rajoidei, but it was provisionally included in the genus Raja because of having no information of its clasper. Later, two mature males and a few specimens of the species were collected from near the type locality. Therefore, a new genus should be erected for this species. The new genus is characterized by the followings: Rostral shaft straight, narrow and thick in depth: unsegmented base with filamentous cartilage. Dorsal surface of tail with a row of distinct thorns along midline, patches of distinct thorns anterior to first dorsal fin and between first and second dorsal fins in bathe sexes; most thorns directed anteriorly, and thornlets directed posteriorly. Scapulocoracoid comparatively short and high, rear corner high, without anterior bridge, postventral fenestra expanded. Distal tip of accessory terminal 1 claspser cartilage well separated from the tip of accessory terminal 2 clasper cartilage.

Ypsolopha속 (나비목:Ypsolophidae)의 2종, Ypsolopha vittella (Linnaeus, 1758)와 Ypsolopha nigrofasciata (Yang, 1977)를 우리나라에서는 처음으로 보고한다. 이 두 종의 진단형질, 기재, 분포, 기주식물, 성충사진 및 암컷 생식기 사진을 제시하였다.

본 연구를 통해 한국미기록속인 Pseudalelimma속과 본 속에 속하는 1종, Pseudalelimma miwai Inoue가 강원도 영월지역에서 채집되어 한국 미기록종으로 기록된다. 본 고에서는 이들의 채집지 기록, 국내외분포 및 알려진 기주식물 정보 등을 정리하여 보고한다.

Epizootic streptococal infction is one of the common disease in guinea pig. We have confirmed 54 case of epizootic streptococal infection in guinea pig by histopathology and epidemiology. Grossly infection is characterized by the presense one to several enlarged lymph nodes particularly of the mandible cervical lymph nodes and accompanied by pleuropneumonia. Histologically there were lymphadenitis with abscesses surrounded by loose connective tissue fibrinopurulent pneumonia pleuritis myocarditis pericarditis and peritonitis. Epidemiological survey revealed that mortality was high in young adult female(15.1%) and changeable weather season such as spring and fall. From findings it was suggested that epizootic streptococal infection of guinea pig begin to infect in breeding colony around weaning period and died from that infection at animal facility during the quarantine period.

The authors have observed clinically and histopathologically on two cases of rhabdomyosarcomas occurred in the oral cavity. The results were as follow: 1. A case of adult pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma, involving the right mandibular third molar area of 52 year old male, revealed pathological fracture of the right mandibular angle area. Microscopically, sections of this tumor showed cross striations by staining of phosphotungstic acid hematoxylin. 2. A case of embryonal alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, involving the right buccal area of one year and ten months old female, revealed severe bone destruction on the right mandibular body area. Microscopically, sections of this tumor did not show cross striations.

Price is one of the most important components of marketing mix. For consumers, price is an always-existing cue and definite evaluation criteria. However, information on price is meaningful only when it is perceived. Sources of price perception can be the actual retail price at the selling point, the internal reference price expected by consumers for a certain clothing product, and the external reference price advertised by marketer such as the price before mark-down. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of internal reference price on consumers' purchasing process of clothing products. A questionnaire including clothing stimuli was developed in order to assess consumers' internal reference price level. Usable data from 680 adult female urban residents were used for data analysis. Results indicated that consumers with relatively lower internal reference price tend to react low-price focused external reference price and use discount stores and unit price promotions. Consumers with relatively higher internal reference price advertisement are likely to have higher level of education, tend to infer price information to higher quality or prestige of products, and purchase clothing with regular retail price or coupons.

This study was designed to investigate the relationship between body mass index and food habits of college students. For this purpose, 358 students of Kangweon University were asked to fill out the questionnaires for food habits and weight control. The results are summarized as follows ; The rate of underweight, normal and obese was 16.5, 65.1, 18.4%, respectively. Food habits score of obese females were lower than normal or underweight females. Male subjects did not show significantly different scores among the three groups. Female obese subjects have lower scores than the other groups on the eating time, seaweed intake, protein intake and vegetable intake. Male obese subjects have nutritious meals and more eating time than normal and underweight males. College students are the early stage of adult life and their food habits, food behaviors and life style will continue in later life. Therefore, college students need more nutritional knowledge, positive dietary attitudes and modified life styles to prevent and treat obesity.

A 16-year-old female Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) infected with Paragonimus kellicotti was described. Noticeable clinical symptom was not observed before death. At autopsy, numerous cysts were found on the pleural surface of the lung. The cysts were spherical, approximately 1.0 cm in diameter, bulge the pleura, and dark red-brown in color. Such cysts were also found in the deeper lung parenchyma, and usually contained adult flukes in pairs. Histopathologically, the cyst was lined with stratified squamous epithelium which arose from metaplasia of bronchial epithelium. Partial hyperplasia and necrotic foci accompanied with inflammatory cells were often observed in the squamous epithelium. The outer part of the cyst was consisted of fibrous connective tissue in which leukocytes were infiltrated. Catarrhal pneumonia was manifested in the adjacent lung tissues.
