뮤지엄 건축 역사의 공백기 보완을 위한 1930년대까지의 초기 근대 뮤지엄 건축 연구 (A Study on the Early Museum Architecture until the 1930s to fill the Gap in the History of Museum Architeture)

  • This study traces the flow of modern museum architecture from the 18th to 19th century when the rationalist architectural spirit influenced the museum architecture to the 1930s, before the museums of the modern architectural masters appeared. With early modern museums until the 1930s as a target, which had long been enshrined in classicality, finally contributed to narrowing the gap with the times, but did not receive the right evaluation, this study examines their different architectural styles from previous museums and reveals that they have a significance to announce the departure of modern museums beyond classical ones. The three museums, built in the 1930s, will be identified as respectable early modern museums that will fill the remaining blank space of the history of museum architecture. In this study, modern museums are asymmetric, non-centre oriented, and non decorative. They have multi-directional circulation, and a neutral, open and flexible exhibition space. They also try to align themselves with the modern architectural tendency of the day.

  • This is a study for importance of creativity in design. In the modern industrial developments in Korea has brought increase of consumptional products, by this reason. we are interested in the advertising industry for purpose of booming currents. But Comparing with the development of general advertising industry, it is not so long that understanding of advertising design has become important problm and spacially importance of creativity. Therefore According as the usefulness of advertisement is growing, we are concerned of the study of advertising effects. Now creatived expression is required without a moment delay because of the point of discrimination about too many advertisements. So, Advertising design has a role of positive communication which is passed into the life of modern man deeply. So for the dffective and impactive communication in the short time and on the limit space against implicative message, the study for importance of creativity in advertising expression has common purpose contact floody advertising everyday. Therefore this thesis try to seek Strategies of creativity in order to effective advertising expression.

  • Modern Art Furniture has been represented new idea and energy for futuristic furniture design by interacting and confronting with 3 points of view, which are; the idea and emotion of art, the form and concept of design, and the technique and materials of craft. Besides, meanings of modern Art Furniture are also can be described as followed. First, offend of concept of furniture design area to art, second, help to raise the social status of people by making art to be popularized, third, present a new direction of futuristic furniture design culture. Art Furniture design area, which has been trying to make a constant approach to human consideration and sensibility, leads new furniture design culture as an independent art genre in this 21st Century.

미니멀 아트와 현대 가구디자인의 연관성 연구 (A Study on the Correlation between Minimal Art and the Design of Modern Furniture)

  • In this study I made an analysis on the background of creating of Minimal Art and thought of its artists during 1950~1960 and their works. Starting from the early Modernism that tried to depict the life of farmers and laborers in the chaos of war and viewing the art as the tools describing the life itself, minimal art took its root as furniture in ordinary life passing through the era of Surrealism and Dadaism. In 20th century, furniture designers were trying to seek new trend of modern furniture in the perspective of balance and immaculateness while excluding emotion and overall feeling through minimalism. These efforts result in the introduction of immaculateness and refinement in furniture design. Hence, this study is to represent a new trend of furniture design utilizing the margin of furniture in complex lives through formative characteristics that minimal art beholds.

  • The goal of this paper is to explore the relationship between modern architecture and interior decoration through the study of decoration and ornament. It is noteworthy that modern architecture and interior decoration occurred at about the same time. Our analysis shows that the two are closely related to each other. That is to say, modern architecture tried to eliminate ornaments (and decorations), symbols and meanings from the built environments and to embody efficiency and rationality instead. However, in the interior of the building designed and completed by the architect, the user began to decorate his world through decoration or to refer such work to the new expert 'interior decorator'. In a word, the latter took charge of the role deserted by modern architecture.

  • 현대의 그래픽 디자인은 컴퓨터와 전자기술의 발달로 다양하고 첨단적인 이미지들의 스타일로 기존의 그래픽 디자인의 세계를 변화시키며 새로운 그래픽 디자인의 영역을 만들어가고 있다. 하지만 오늘날 그래픽 디자인 스타일의 기본 원리나 이미지들은 지난 20C초부터 중반까지 그래픽 디자인 사조들의 시각적 특징들이 반영된 각종 창작물들에 의해 다듬어지고 변화되어진 시각적 원리나 방법들의 영향을 받아 온 것이 사실이다. 일반적으로 모던 그래픽 디자인이라 부르고 있는 이 시기의 그래픽 디자인 스타일들은 20C 디자인의 시작이 되는 아르누보 이후 회화적 모더니즘, 구성주위, 신조형 주의, 바우하우스를 거치며 현대 그래픽 디자인의 기본적인 원리와 스타일을 형성하게 되는 스위스 그래픽 디자인 양식에서, 그리고 뉴욕파 그래픽 디자인에 이르러 전 세계로 퍼져가게 된다. 본 연구에서는 21C 급속한 그래픽 디자인의 표현 기술 발달과 다양한 그래픽 디자인 환경 속에서 현대 그래픽 디자인 원리의 바탕이 되는 20C 초반부터 중반까지 그래픽 디자인의 시각적 특징과 흐름의 조망을 통해 좀더 그래픽 디자인에 대한 체계적이고 근본적인 인식의 확보와 그래픽디자인의 시각적 특징을 이해하고 새로운 그래픽 스타일을 생산해 내는 하나의 연구 과정으로 삼고자 한다.

시뮬라크르 관점에서의 한국적 패션디자인 분석 (Analysis of Korean Fashion Design Seunghee Suh from the Viewpoint of Simulacre)

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the stage of image change in Korean fashion design in regards to the simulacre of Jean Baudrillard. The changing phases of Korean fashion design are as follows: First, the initial stage involved simple imitation, which replicated the original as much as possible, it expressed the basic composition of Hanbok, flat cut and rich silhouette, the color scheme of traditional colors, traditional patterns, materials, and traditional ornaments. In the second stage, the subject matter intervened to distort and transform from the original, the basic composition and structure of the Hanbok were barely maintained, they were either removed or part of the structure modified or expressed using modern materials and patterns. The third stage, were based on reality but differed from reality through subject and imagination, and only left a part of the basic composition of Hanbok, and were expressed through the partial modification of the elements of the Hanbok, for instance the silhouette, skirt waist, collar and breast-tie. The fourth stage of pure simulacre, which refers to a new image with complete independence regardless of the reality. This stage differed from the basic structure and composition of Hanbok, and showcased traditional Korean image of Korea's unique cultural elements, such as hanbok or crafts and artworks, in a modern fashion with a modern sense and practicality.

한국 근대소설에 표현된 여자복식 -1910년∼1945년을 중심으로 (A study on Woman Costume presented in the Korean Modern Novel -focused on the period from 1910 to 1945-)

  • This study was aimed at analyzing the woman costume presented in the korean modern novel by continuity, mixture, and discontinuity. For the costume analysis, the korean modern novel written from 1910 to 1945 were used. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Continuity: It doesn't mean discontinuity from the past but succession and development of the past, which explains about the costume culture for the period from 1910 to 1919. During this period, people tended to wear korean traditional costume in an effort to maintain their national identity. 2. Mixture: It means the effort to synthesize and develop past, present and future, which explains about the apparel for the period from 1920 to 1937. During this period, western culture was introduced much into korea to be established as part of our people's life. The new generation of women who studied abroad introduced the western costume throughout the cities, while the convenient western costume served to improve korean traditional costume. 3. Discontinuity: It means a conscious departure from the past as well as a critical reaction to the past, which explains about the costume culture for the period from 1938 to 1945. For this period, western costume was popular among new generation of women, while it was more diversified with increasing population wearing them. Many country men and women proceeded to wear the western costume.

관복과 흉배의 조형미와 현대적 활용 사례 (The Aesthetics of Official Uniforms, or Kwanbok, and Embroidered Patches, or Hyungbae, and their Modern Applications)

  • The Aesthetics of Kwanbok and Hyungbae and their Modern Applications Starting from practical purpose, kwanbok worn by government officers were developed in original and unique fashion over long time. In particular, as hyungbae (embroidered patches for kwanbok) that had been used for kwanbok has remained in existence even today, providing inspiration for a variety of design, it is bringing attention to the aesthetic value and importance of kwanbok. Under the circumstances, this study has elicited aesthetics from kwanbok and hyungbae as follows: First, they imply the wish of long life and happiness as a symbol of favorable omen and distinguish one's status according to the shape, color, and pattern. Second, kwanbok and hyungbae reveal our ancestors' naturalistic perspective in art. Third, pleats, slits and shapes in robes reveal practical aesthetics in composition. Fourth, slits in kwanbok create the aesthetics of contrast and harmony of lining and outer cloth. Modern applications of kwanbok is of value as they represent traditions and maintain the original forms, showing the image of Korea in the 21st century. Such efforts mean that they do not only make more beautiful clothes, but also create overall philosophies in life, including personal values.

여대생의 메이크업행동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Behavior of women Student in the University about Make-up)

  • This study is to examine the modern women's awareness make-up in psychological standpoint based upon the survey of $20\~30$ years old women's consciousness of the motivation, the attention, the psychological utility, the attitude for make-up, the action behavior and the coordination with clothes. Modern women show a keen interest in make-up in company with the diversity of a fashion. This means the tendency which the intention for change and the expression of oneself are emphasizing on. The motivations of make-up are women's attention to other people and notice of evaluation of others and social meaning of make-up in relation with one's interest in appearances. Also, total coordination is concerned as another motivation. Make-up became the practical use and usual doings for women with the diversity of the information of make-up & the increase of cosmetics. Since there were so many women responded that they start to make up in their teens, we recognized that the women's sense of values has changed with the change of modern society.
