The study investigates the utilization of open access repositories for visibility of academic publications by lecturers in South-East, Nigeria. The specific objectives were to investigate the types of academic publications available, platforms used in self-archiving, level of satisfaction derived by lecturers with the contribution of open access repositories, challenges and strategies. It adopted descriptive survey design. Proportionate stratified sampling technique was used to draw a sample size of 418 from the total population of 4,187 lecturers. Questionnaire and observation check list were used for data collection. Frequency count, percentage, and mean score were used to analyze the data. The study revealed that there are enough academic publications available such as books, journals, projects, and thesis with the exception of handouts. It also revealed that Google Scholar, Research Gate and Open Access Journal were the main platforms lecturers use in self-archiving; while other platforms like Institutional Repositories, among others were minimally employed. Lecturers are less satisfied with the contribution of open access repositories. All the suggested challenges such as inadequate power supply, poor network, lack of awareness and inadequate research grants were all accepted. Similarly, all the suggested strategies for improving them were accepted. Recommendations were made based on the findings such as more awareness creation on importance of open access repositories; re-training of lecturers and provision of adequate ICT infrastructures that will improve the utilization of open access repositories by lecturers which could enhance the global visibility of academic publications from the Nigerian Universities.

Enhancing utilization of buildings is gaining in importance in response to a challenging economy; thus, there is a need for a method that analyzes space, user, and user activity in an integrated way to provide project stakeholders with utilization information to support their decision-making about buildings. Conventional methods, such as architectural programming and post-occupancy evaluation, lack a formal relationship between user activity and other information, and therefore, are coarse-grained. This relationship has been formalized by two relatively new methods that provide fine-grained utilization information: workplace planning and space-use analysis. We characterize these two methods with focuses on their usage in different phases (i.e., planning, design, occupancy), required information that needs to be gathered, and the achievement and limitations in terms of three criteria, i.e., consistency, efficiency, and transparency. This characterization would not only help project stakeholders select and use a method that best meets their purposes for enhancing utilization of their buildings, but also provide researchers with promising research topics regarding enhancing utilization of buildings.

The outcomes of entrepreneurship studies have been tried to help the entrepreneurs in start-up stages, but the outcomes of the entrepreneurship research are not fully utilized to guide the activities of the entrepreneurs in start-up businesses. To utilize the outcomes of entrepreneurship research for helping entrepreneurs effectively, an entrepreneurship ontology, a systemized specification of the knowledge in the entrepreneurship research, has to be established, Based on the entrepreneurship ontology, the knowledge of entrepreneurial processes can be illustrated, and a diagnosis and coaching system for the entrepreneurs can be built effectively. To establish an entrepreneurship ontology, this study investigates the intellectual structure of entrepreneurship studies by analyzing the contents of top journals in entrepreneurship field, and identifies the relationship among the key concepts through bibliometric analyses based on entrepreneurship corpus, This study suggests a method of establishing entrepreneurship ontology and utilization of the ontology. Through utilization of the entrepreneurship ontology, it is expected to explain the entrepreneurial processes effectively and to improve the rate of business success.

본 연구는 국제합작사업 기업들을 대상으로 합작사업 참여기업 간 특성이 지식공유 및 활용과 합작 성과에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 살펴보고자 하는 실증연구이다. 본 연구에서는 국제합작사업 참여기업 간 특성을 참여기업간 계약준수, 사업참여동기 및 의지, 경영자율성, 조직문화들이 지식공유 및 활용과 합작성과에 어떠한 유의한 영향을 미치며 또한, 국제합작사업 기업들만이 가지는 특징을 실증분석을 통하여 알아보고자 한다.

This study adopted the descriptive survey research method. The population of this study comprised of the hearing impaired students in selected government secondary schools in Rivers state. The population of hearing impaired students in Rivers State is 257. A simple random sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 159. A self-developed instrument titled "Availability and Utilization of Library Information Resources Questionnaire (AULIRQ)" was utilized for data collection. 153 responses were collated, indicating a 96.2% response rate. The data collected was arranged and analyzed using frequency count, percentages, and mean and standard deviation. Finding reveals that information resources in the libraries understudied were inadequate and under-utilized. Also, it was established that among other barriers, under-funding is a major barrier to making information resources available for the physically challenged. It was recommended that schools offering special education for the hearing impaired should pace up in their developmental gap by providing such resources and ensure adequate funding by all stakeholders.

본 연구는 건설산업 현장 프로젝트조직의 프로젝트사업 참여자 간 지식공유·활용이 조직몰입 및 협력과 현장 프로젝트 성과에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 살펴보고자 하는 실증연구이다. 본 연구에서는 건설산업 현장 프로젝트조직의 특성을 분석하고자 본사 인력을 제외한 현장 프로젝트사업 참여자를 대상으로 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 구조방정식을 이용하여 현장 프로젝트사업 참여자 간 지식공유·활용이 조직몰입 및 협력과 프로젝트 성과에 어떠한 유의한 영향을 미치는지 실증분석을 통하여 알아보고자 한다.

본 연구에서는 교사의 지식에 대한 초임교사들의 인식을 알아보기 위해 초임교사들에게 설문을 실시하고, 그 결과를 분석하였다. 초임교사들은 자신의 수업의 반성과 개선에 대한 지식을 가장 필요하다고 인식하고, 실제 수업에서는 수학적 개념과 학습 내용들 사이의 연계성과 위계성 등 상호 관계에 대한 지식을 가장 많이 활용한다고 인식한다. 이러한 교사의 지식은 주로 수업 경험과 교사 연수를 통해 형성된다고 인식한다. 또한, 초임교사들은 수학 수업에서 공학적 도구와 평가를 활용하는 지식에 대해 필요성을 낮게 인식하고 자주 활용하지 못하는 것으로 인식한다. 초임교사들이 교사의 지식을 형성하는데 도움을 주기 위해 교사 입문 프로그램과 멘토링의 활성화, 교원 양성기관의 교육과정의 개선, 다양한 교사 연수 프로그램의 개발과 보급 등이 필요하다.

Purpose. The purposes of this study were to apply data mining tool to nursing specific knowledge discovery process and to identify the utilization of data mining skill for clinical decision making. Methods. Data mining based on rough set model was conducted on a large clinical data set containing NMDS elements. Randomized 1000 patient data were selected from year 1998 database which had at least one of the five most frequently used nursing diagnoses. Patient characteristics and care service characteristics including nursing diagnoses, interventions and outcomes were analyzed to derive the meaningful decision rules. Results. Number of comorbidity, marital status, nursing diagnosis related to risk for infection and nursing intervention related to infection protection, and discharge status were the predictors that could determine the length of stay. Four variables (age, impaired skin integrity, pain, and discharge status) were identified as valuable predictors for nursing outcome, relived pain. Five variables (age, pain, potential for infection, marital status, and primary disease) were identified as important predictors for mortality. Conclusions. This study demonstrated the utilization of data mining method through a large data set with stan dardized language format to identify the contribution of nursing care to patient's health.

특정 분야 R&D성과물을 지식정보로 활용하기 위해서는 단순한 연구결과 보고서 제출만으로는 부족하며 더구나 지구촌 단위로 급속하게 변화하는 환경에서는 기존 결과활용에 의한 신속한 R&D에 대한 전략적인 전환지원이 없을 경우에는 영양가 있는 지식생성은 기대하기 힘들다. 본 연구는 지식정보로서 학술연구개발 성과물의 활용 현황과 그 결과로 지원되는 새로운 R&D의 지식생성 수준을 파악하고, 대학의 R&D 사례를 중심으로 관련법이나 규정과 현실과의 상충되는 부분을 지적한다. 결론에서는 엄청난 연구비를 지원하고 있는 학술연구의 결과활용과 새로운 연구활동을 지원할 수 있는 지식정보 관리의 실제적인 문제와 그를 해결하기 위한 요건을 제시한다.

급변하는 자연언어를 기계가 이해할 수 있도록 하기 위해서는 다양한 언어지식자원(linguistic knowledge resources)의 구축이 필수적으로 수반된다. 본 논문에서는 온라인 콘텐츠의 특성을 활용해 언어지식자원을 자동으로 구축함으로써 지속적으로 확장 가능한 방법을 고안하고자 한다. 특히 언어분석 과정에서 가장 활용도가 높은 개체명(NE: Named Entity) 사전을 자동으로 구축, 확장하는데 주안점을 둔다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 개체명 사전 구축대상문서로 위키피디아(Wikipedia)를 선정, 그 특성을 파악하기 위해 다양한 통계 분석을 수행하였다. 이에 기반하여 위키피디아 콘텐츠가 갖는 구문적 특성과 구조 정보 등의 메타데이터를 활용하여 개체명 사전을 구축, 확장하는 방법을 제안한다.
