한국(韓國)과 일본인(日本人)의 식행동(食行動)에 관(關)한 조사연구(調査硏究)(제 2 보) -식사담당참여(食事擔當參與)와 식사예법(食事禮法)에 관하여- (An Investigation of Dietary Behaviors in Japan and Korea (Part II) -On Participation in Cooking and Table Manners-)

  • Of 1,244 junior high school students of boys and girls and their families in Tokyo and Seoul, we investigated the present situations of the participation in cooking and table manners. In both countries, the average age of parents was 40's, and the ratio of the kinds of fathers' job was similar including 75% of full-time salaried workers, while that of mothers' in Japan was 63%, in Korea 23%. The male participation in cooking in both countries was found in younger generations and that of fathers and boys in Korea was significantly fewer than in Japan, which is regarded as the influence of Confucianism and employment of housekeepers. The figure of frequency of supper taken together daily was 27% in Japan and 54% in Korea where they didn't begin eating until all families gathered or the elders began. In Japan the civilities before and after meals were so often customarily expressed and they had the regular order of seats. The figure of frequency of taking meals with TV watching was about 45% in Japan of breakfast and supper and more than 30% in Korea of supper. As for the participation in cooking and table manners, national characteristics were clearly found out. In both countries, the newly modernized and democratized style of dietary behaviors was being made, rather sooner in Japan, out of the specific East-Asian traditional dining culture.

Sexual Intercourse and Its Correlates Among School-aged Adolescents in Indonesia: Analysis of the 2015 Global School-based Health Survey

  • Objectives: This study aimed to determine the prevalence and correlates of sexual intercourse among junior secondary and high school students in Indonesia from the 2015 Global School-based Health Survey (GSHS). Methods: The survey was conducted among 11 110 students from 75 schools in Indonesia using a self-administered questionnaire. Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to explore associations between sexual intercourse and socio-demographic variables, substance use, mental distress, and protective factors. Results: Overall, 5.3% of students reported having ever had sex (6.9% of boys and 3.8% of girls). Of students who engaged in sexual intercourse, 72.7% of boys and 90.3% of girls had an early sexual debut (before reaching the age of 15) and around 60% had multiple sex partners. Sexual intercourse was associated with gender, school grade, smoking, alcohol consumption, drug use, suicidal ideation, truancy, peer support, and parental supervision. Conclusions: These findings indicate a pressing need to develop more comprehensive sexual health education in the national curriculum. An effective strategy should also address other risky behaviours.

과학 관련 태도의 성차와 관련된 사회적 요인 분석 (Analysis of Social Factors Affecting Gender Differences in Science-Related Attitudes)

  • 이 연구는 남학생과 여학생의 과학 관련 태도와 그에 영향을 주는 요인을 조사하여 과학 영역의 성차를 조사하였다. 과학 관련 태도 검사지(TOSRA)와 이에 영향을 주는 변인으로 학교, 교사, 친구, 부모 네 가지 요인에 대하여 개발한 검사지를 13개 학교에 투입하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 남학생과 여학생의 과학에 대한 태도의 차이는 없었으나 과학에 대한 태도가 남학생은 부모에게 영향을 많이 받고 여학생은 교사와 친구에게서 영향을 많이 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 현재 과학에 대한 태도의 성차를 발생시키는 요인이 남학생과 여학생에서 다르다는 것을 말해 준다. 과학 영역의 전반적인 성차를 줄이기 위해서는 부모와 교사 등 학생들의 과학에 대한 태도에 영향을 주는 요인들을 자극하는 프로그램이 뒷받침 되어야 한다.

서울지역 일부 중학생의 성장발육 및 영양상태 (Nutritional Status of Junior High School Students)

  • In the Health Promotion Law proclaimed on January 1995, nutritional improvement at national level was emphasized and designated as one of the jobs to be carried out by local governmnets. With such a situational necessity, we conducted a dietary survey along with an anthropometric measurement, biochemical assessment and questionnaire analysis on general characteristics of the students from 3 junior higher schools in Seoul area. About 300 students had participated in the study and the data from only 139 students, 28 boys and 111 girls, with complete report of dietary intake were subjected to analysis, comparison and discussion. Fasting blood samples were drawn and analyzed for hemoglobin, hematocrit and total cholesterol. Dietary intake was monitored by 1-day 24hr recall +2-day food record. In general, the average intake of nutrients for most of the subjects were above RDA for korean of that age except for 2 nutrients namely, vitamin A and calcium, of which average intake corresponded to 46-69% of RDA. In addition to this kind of nutritional imbalance, there were several other factors of nutritional problems such as skipping breakfast, overeating at dinner and frequent eating of snacks. As the best countermeasure for these kinds of nutritional problems, more detailed campaign and prractical nutrition education for these adolescents are necessary. Only through proper education and guidance for them, the healthy and intellectual man power could be guaranteed for the forthcoming 21st century.

중학생의 학업스트레스와 빗속의 사람그림 반응특성 (Relationship of Academic Stress in Middle School and PITR Responses)

  • This study checks if the PITR (Person in the Rain) test can diagnose the stress caused by school-work for middle school students, in that the PITR responses correlates with the degree of stress. The subjects in the study are 483 middle school thirdgraders from 8 middle schools in Daegu city. Research tools used are an Academic Stress Scale and a PITR test. For data analysis is adopted with t-test and Chi-square test. The results from the study are as follows. First, the stress of middle students scores 2.47/4 that means that the school stress is average, and there is no gender difference in scores. Second, PITR test shows that boys draw more rain than girls, straight rain with stronger wind, hide face more, no good facial expressions more often than girls. Girls on the contrary show more stable lines, bigger puddles, place protections more appropriately. Third, those with higher academic stress use more unstable strokes, less number of or insufficient direct protections than those with less academic stress, and draw indirect protection such as umbrellas before rain or clouds. The study concludes that a PITR test can be useful in diagnosing the academic stress of middle school students.

청소년 남.녀의 체형관련변인의 발육달성율에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Attainment Rate of Growth for Somatotype Related Variables in Boys and Girls)

  • 청소년 남 녀의 채형관련 변인의 연령증가에 따른 발육 달성율의 변화양상을 분석 평가 하였다. 4개부위의 피하지방후 합은 $12{\sim}14$세를 제외한 전연령구간에서 여자가 남자보다 유의하게 높았으며, 13세를 분기점으로 성차가 커지는 경향을 보였다. 골의 상완골폭은 $13{\sim}15$세를 제외한 전연령구간에서 남자가 여자에 비해 높았으며, 15세를 분기점으로 성차가 컸다. 대퇴골폭은 전연령구간에서 남자가 여자보다. 유의하게 높았으며, 연령이 증가할수록 성차가 약간씩 커지는 경향이었다. 근육의 상완이두근최대위는 7세를 제외한 전연령구간에서 남자가 여자보다. 유의하게 높았으며, 15세를 분기점으로 성차가 점차가 커졌으며, 하퇴대위는 남 녀 모두 연령이 증가할수록 높아지는 경향을 나타내고, $10{\sim}15$세에는 여자가 남자보다 높았다가 16세 이후 남자가 높아지는 교차현상을 나타내었다. 체형의 내배엽성요소는 $10{\sim}11$세를 제외한 전연령구간에 서 여자가 남자보다 높은 반면, 중배엽성요소는 15세를 제외한 전연령구간에서 남자가 여자보다 높았고, 외배엽성요소는 $8{\sim}12$세에 여자가 남자보다 높았다가 13세 이후 남자가 높아지는 교차현상을 보였다. 종합적으로 청소년 남 녀의 체형관련 변인에서 지방조직의 발육정도는 여자가 남자를 앞서며, 근과 골의 발육정도는 남자가 여자보다 높았다.

서울시내 남${\cdot}$녀 중학생들의 영양지식과 식생활 및 건강상태에 관한 연구 (A Study on Knowledge of Nutrition, Dietary Life, and Health of Junior High School Boys and Girls in Seoul)

  • This study was designed to observe the nutritional knowledge, dietary life, and health condition in the middle school students. The subjects of this study were sampled out from co-ed middle schools in Seoul. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. The subjects take breakfast everyday by 50.4%, and their lunch depends very largely upon a lunch box by 95.2%. They take supper every evening by 79.0%. 2. The nutritional knowledge of subjects exhibits a significant difference by sex and region 3. The physical health condition of students exhibits a significant difference by sex and grade. 4. The mental health condition of students also exhibits a significant difference by sex, grade, and region. The school is required to endeavour for the student to have a correct understanding of nutritional knowledge form good dietary life. The government also should exert incessant efforts for school meal supply for their balanced nutrition.

광주지역 고등학생의 식품첨가물에 대한 인식 (Recognition of Food Additives of High School Students in Gwangju)

  • 본 연구는 고등학생을 대상으로 식품첨가물에 대한 인식을 알아보아 고등학생들의 식생활 교육을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 광주광역시 소재의 남 여 인문계 고등학교 학생 560명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였고, 520부를 최종분석 자료로 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 SAS Program Package를 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차를 산출하였으며, 일원변량분석, t 검증, Chi-Square(x2) 검증을 하였으며 사후검정으로 Duncan의 다중범위검증을 실시하였다. 주요 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 관련 변인에 따른 식품첨가물의 일반적 인식은 식품첨가물에 대해 식품 완전표시제가 꼭 필요하다가 가장 높게 나타났으나, 식품첨가물이 식품의 질을 향상시킨다는 가장 낮은 점수를 나타났다. 비싸더라도 식품첨가물이 없는 식품을 먹으려고 한다는 가정의 월평균 수입과 한달 용돈에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였으며 색깔이 예쁜 과자를 보면 더 먹고 싶은 생각이 든다는 성별에 따라, 식품제조시 식품첨가물은 꼭 필요하다는 성별과 학년에 따라 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 햄 소시지가 왜 붉은 색인지 궁금한 적이 있다는 학년과 어머니 연령에서 유의한 차이를 나타냈고, 밀가루는 대부분 흰색인데 우리 밀은 왜 노란색인지 궁금한 적이 있다는 성별, 학년, 어머니 연령에 따라 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 식품첨가물은 통제가 충분하다는 성별과 학년에 따라, 조미료가 첨가되어 있는 식품을 구분할 수 있다는 어머니 학력과 한달 용돈에 따라 차이를 나타냈다. 둘째, 조사대상자의 식품첨가물 지식과 관련변인에 따른 지식의 차이를 살펴보면 식품첨가물에 대한 지식 정답율은 안전성 관련 지식에서는 아주 높게 나타나 안전성에 대한 관심이 높은 것을 알 수 있지만 식품 성분 표시 중 식품첨가물의 실제 지식 정답율은 아주 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 학년과 어머니 학력에 따라 식품첨가물의 지식 정도에 유의한 차이를 보였다. 셋째, 성별과 학년에 따른 식품첨가물에 대한 정보 요구도, 안전성 인식, 용도 인식은 식품첨가물에 대해 들어본 적이 있는가는 여학생과 1학년이 가장 높아 차이를 나타냈으며, 식품첨가물이라는 용어를 어디에서 알게 되었는지와 식품첨가물에 대한 정보를 어디에서 얻는가는 주로 TV 라디오 신문 등의 대중매체이었으며, 남학생이 여학생보다 그리고 2학년이 가장 높아 차이를 나타냈다. 식품첨가물에 대해 알아야 할 필요성의 정도는 남학생, 1학년이 높아 차이를 나타냈다. 식품첨가물에 대해 배우고 싶은 곳은 남학생은 대중매체를, 여학생은 학교 선생님으로 그리고 1학년은 학교 선생님, 2학년과 3학년은 대중매체로 나타나 차이를 나타냈고, 안전성 인식에서 안전성이 가장 우려되는 항목으로는 1학년은 보존료, 표백제, 착색제 순으로, 2학년이 표백제, 보존료, 착색제 순으로, 3학년은 표백제, 보존료, 조미료 감미료 산미료 순으로 차이를 나타냈다. 식품첨가물의 역할인지는 여학생, 1학년이 가장 높아 차이를 나타냈다. 이와 같은 결과를 살펴 볼 때 식품첨가물의 안전성에 대한 인식은 높은 편이었지만, 실제로 식품을 구입할 때 필요한 식품표시 사항을 확인하는 정도가 낮았으며, 표기된 영양정보와 식품첨가물의 정보에 대해서 학생들의 수준이 아주 낮은 것을 고려하여 학생들의 소비생활에 직접 도움이 되는 실질적인 교육이 이루어지도록 하며 고등학생들의 인식 제고를 위한 체계적인 교육이 필요할 것으로 보인다.

서울 지역 일부 아동 및 청소년의 성장발달 및 식생활 비교 연구: 식품 및 영양소 섭취 실태(II) (The Physical Development and Dietary Intake for Korean Children and Adolescents: Food and Nutrient Intake)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the food and nutrient intakes in 5th to 8th grade school boys and girls. A total of 1,333 students were recruited from 1 elementary and 1 middle school, both located in Seoul. The data on food and nutrients intake were collected by 3-day food record. The food intake was calculated as the percentage of total energy intake according to 21 food subgroups. The consumption of noodles, and meat's products (including ham and sausage) groups were higher in 7th and 8th grade than 5th and 6th grade. On the other hand consumption of vegetables and milk & its products groups were lower in 7th and 8th grade. As results, calcium, riboflavin, and vitamin C intakes were lower in 7th and 8th grade students. Dietary patterns by cluster analysis resulted in $77\%$ of subjects with traditional pattern based rice and kimchi, and $23\%$ with modified pattern. All students regardless of grades showed high fat intake, above 20 percent energy intake from fat, and high cholesterol intakes. In conclusion, there was significant difference between 5th and 6th grade primary school students and 7th and 8th junior school students regarding food and nutrient intakes; It should be necessary to provide proper nutrient education and monitoring in order to establish good dietary profile.

학교 기반 정신건강증진 및 학교폭력 예방 프로그램 단기적 실시의 효과에 대한 예비연구 (School-Based Short Term Mental Health Awareness and School Bullying Prevention Programs : Preliminary Report)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the preliminary effects of school-based short term mental health awareness and school bullying prevention programs. Methods : From April to December 2013, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Promotion team of Seoul National Hospital conducted school-based short term social skill training (N=56, 4 sessions), mental health awareness (N=84, 4 sessions) and school bullying prevention programs (N=171, 1 session) in elementary and junior high schools located in Seoul. The changes in the subjects before and after the program were assessed. Results : The social skills training program improved the 'helping' behaviors in boys (t=-2.355, p<.05) and 'sharing' (t=-3.223, p<.01), 'cooperation' (t=-2.235, p<.05), and 'comforting' (t=-2.830, p<.01) behaviors in girls, assessed using the Prosocial Behavior Questionnaire. The mental health awareness program improved 'general health awareness' (t=2.620, p<.05), measured using the Korean General Health Questionnaire. The school bullying prevention program resulted in decreased 'self esteem' (t=3.769, p<.01), measured using the Self Esteem Scale and decreased 'anger' (t=4.198, p<.01), assessed using the Novaco Anger Scale. Conclusion : The results of our preliminary analysis suggest that school-based mental health awareness and school bullying prevention programs may be effective even when conducted for a short term. Future investigation is necessary in order to validate the long term effects of these programs.
