A driving simulator is a computer-controlled tool to study an interface between a driver and vehicle response by enabling the driver to participate in judging vehicle characteristics. Using the driving simulator, human factor study, vehicle system development and other research can be effectively done under controllable, reproducible and non-dangerous conditions. An Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system is generally regarded as a system that can be achieved in the near future without the demanding infrastructure components and technologies. ACC system is an automatic vehicle following system with no human engagement in the longitudinal vehicle direction. And the influence of the driver is substantial in developing the system. Driving characteristic is very different according to the accident riskiness, gender, age and so on. In this research, experiments have been carried out to investigate driving characteristics with the ACC system, using a driving simulator. Participants are 21 male and 19 female. Driving characteristics such as preferred headway-time, lane keeping ability, eye direction, and head movement have been observed and compared between the driving with ACC and the driving without ACC.

본 연구에서는 건물의 규모, 용도 및 형식 등에 따라 다양하게 요구되는 성능에 대응할 수 있도록 하기 위한 성능설계에 대한 개념을 검증하고, 강구조 건축물의 특성을 고려한 성능레벨 및 성능한계에 대한 분류방법을 제안하였다. 또한 강구조 건축물의 경우 강도가 높고 경량인 특성에 의해 다른 구조형식에서는 크게 고려하지 않아도 되는 거주성능 및 진동특성을 제어하여 기능을 유지하기 위한 성능레벨을 설정하여 구조물이 항복하기 전의 성능레벨을 기능유지 및 무손상의 2단계로 제시하고, 이 때의 한계치를 기능한계 및 손상한계로 구분하였다. 강구조 건축물의 손상한계를 정의하기 위해 강구조 건축물의 설계 예를 이용하여 항복 층간변형각을 조사하였다. 그 결과 구조물의 손상발생을 억제할 수 있는 손상한계를 규정하기 위해 주로 사용하고 있는 층간변형각은 구조형식 및 설계방법에 따라 편차가 크게 나타나고 있으므로 손상한계치의 층간변형각을 임의로 설정하는 것은 매우 어려우며 향후 이에 대한 해석적, 실험적 검증이 필요할 것으로 판단되었다.

In oriental medicine, the pulse beats are important signals that may let us know the conditions of one's health and disease. In other words, doctors of oriental medicine can simply analyze pulse waves anywhere and anytime to treat patients without using high-priced medical appliances. However, they are largely subjective in interpreting the pulse rates and hence their reliability is far from being perfect. The current paper aims to solve this problem by using fuzzy inference rules in judging patients' health status and to develop a software kit of intelligent electronic needles.

Cheju island is situated at about 90km south of southern most tip of the Korean peninsula. Its shape is an ellips with size of 80$\times$40$km^2$, and it is characterized by a symmetrical form whose peak is Mt. Halla (1950m). Major chemical composition of the rock samples from Manjang gul cave is determined by XRF using the fundamental parameter method consisting of fully auto quantitative analysis, semi quantitative analysis (order estimation) and group quantitative analysis. Judging from chemical composition ($SiO_2 = 53.07Wt% Fe_2 O_3=11.34Wt%, MgO=6.48Wt%, Na_2 O=3.07Wt%, K_2 O=1.05Wt%$), this rocks may belong to non alkalic basalt. K-Ar ages of two rocks samples from the Manjang gul cave are also determined. The discrepancy of K-Ar ages is found. They are 0.03Ma and 0.42Ma, respectively. This paper describes some problems experienced in dating young volcanic rocks and then discusses chemical composition, X-ray fluorescence analysis and the age of the formation of a lava tunnel such as Manjang gul cave in cheju Island.

This landscape design proposal was presented to a design competition for the master plan of Ttukseom Sup, which was held by the City of Seoul in March, 2003. The site is located at 1-685, Sungsu-dong, Sung-dong-gu and has an area of 1,156,498$m^2$. The judging criteria for landscape design set by the City of Seoul could be articulated as follows: first, the proposal should be nature-oriented with groves that can be accessed easily by citizens; second, the proposal should not be facilities-oriented but plants-oriented groves that utilize existing plants; third, the proposal should present its own identity reflecting its historical aspects and geographical location. This proposal has been approached first by redefining the meanings of the old Korean village groves and second, by proposing new cultural infrastructures with the groves corresponding to recent cultural trends.

It can be considered that the safety of software is combined with that of hardware, and also directly connected to system safety. Because the software in the railway system takes the form of Embedded that let it behave at the system level, instead of independent operation, the safety of the railway S/W is also important. The approach, for ensuring the quality and safety of those software, can be considered with two points of view. Those are views seeing from products, and from processes. The two points of approach are all necessary in the railway system. For the first of all, the process approach is to validate maturity of the organizations in accordance to the judging processes of organizations, which are specified by CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integration) or SPICE(Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination: ISO/IECl5504). In this paper, as the first step of them, we are trying to find approaches to estimate the maturity of manufacturer and assessment organization in the railway system.

Today advanced traffic management systems are required because of a high increase in traffic demand. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to take advantage of image processing systems and present image processing methods available for collection of the data on traffic characteristics, and then to investigate the possibility of traffic flow analysis by means of comparison and analysis of measured traffic flow. Data were collected at two places of Daegu city and Kyongbu expressway by using VTR. Rear view (down stream) and frontal view (up stream) methods were employed to compare and analyze traffic characteristics including traffic volume, speed, time-headway, time-occupancy, and vehicle-length, by analysis of measured traffic flow and image processing respectively. Judging from the results obtained by this study, image processing techniques are sufficient for the analysis of traffic volume, but a frame grabber equipped with high speed processor is necessary as well, with low level system judged to be sufficient for traffic volume analysis.

In order to examine food components of coho salmon and rainbow-trout, We analyzed the composition of protein, amino acids and total lipids. The coho salmon muscle contained about 19.3% of protein with the composition of 29.9% in sarcoplasmic protein, 56.3oA in myofibrillar protein 12.5% alkali soluble protein and 2.6% in stroma. Those of rainbow-trout contained 34.1%, 56.4%, 8.3% and 2.9%, respectively. The sarcoplasmic and myofibrillar protein were composed of 13 subunits in coho salmon, and 16 and 15 subunits in rainbow-trout. Judging from the contents of essential amino acids, both muscle proteins were complete proteins. The most remarkable feature of free amino acids was that a large amount of dipeptide anserine was present with fairly lower levels of 1 methyl histidine, taurine, histidine, alanine and glycine in both muscle extracts. The total fatty acids of coho salmon was composed of 31.49% polyenes, 43.79% monoenes and 24.73% saturates. The composition of total fatty acid of coho salmon muscle was not different from that of rainbow-trout muscle.

We need the acquisition of accurate geographic information as well as immediate updates of information on the city in order to plan and manage the changes of the cities more systematically. The geographic information for judging the changes of the cities can be used not only in various policies and studies, but also as important data themselves that record the growth of cities. In this paper ore could build the GIS database with attribute data about the classification accuracy and the class and by providing the land cover map by each classification method according to the accuracy that the user requires, we could provide more reliable and various information.

These studies were brought about to know how much the elctronic methods of raw silk testing is correct, effective and convenient in the testing process. These effectiveness and convenience for the testing process under the emergency of the automatic system in raw silk inspecting process, the convenience of inspection in crease in it's capability decreasing the necessary working members, but as certain defect, the corresponding time span needs more than the former case in kind. Judging from the above mentioned carefully, it is necessary or even immidiate for participants to deeply study and search in earnest as well, before adopting the so called International Method of Raw Silk Test and Classification which was proposed by S.S.C in 1990.
