The data was obtained from the 2009 APNs' job satisfaction survey of 452 nurses who received the certificate of APN between 2005 and 2008 conducted by the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education. ANOVA and t-test analyses using SPSS version 14.0 were performed. The average job satisfaction level of the APNs was 2.94 out of 5.00. APNs who were performing jobs as a certified APN had a higher level of job satisfaction (t=.23, p<.001), higher wages (t=2.23, p<.05), promotion in rank (t=2.56, p<.05), more professional job performance (t=10.52, p<.001), greatest trust in their bosses and coworkers (t=5.31, p<.001), and higher confidence in their job performance (t=5.07, p<.001) than those who were not. The government and the nursing community need to provide the APNs' with the appropriate supply and demand polices, as well as a proper incentive system and job improvement.

  • Recently, Korean health care industry managers are paying more attention to customer oriented service, the rationalization of business administration, and quality control of service to adjust their business to outer environment since IMF bailout program. They are focusing on the cost reduction through remodeling the size and structure of man power, viz. labor flexibility. Nurses are not free from this juncture and contingent nurses are increasing fast. This article intends to verify the actual condition of two types of contingent nurses -part-time nurses and internship nurses-and to compare their job satisfaction to provide basic resource for efficient management of nurse man power. The concrete goals of this article are; Firstly, to verify the actual condition of their employment. Secondly, to compare their job satisfaction. And Thirdly, to the relation between employment condition and job satisfaction. To accomplish these research goals, a statistical survey was executed, in which 384 questionnaires - 66 for manager nurses, 318 for contingent nurses-were given to nurses working at 66 general hospitals-which have at least 100 beds-in Seoul. Among them, 121 questionnaires-of 28 general hospitals-were returned. Then, the data coded and submitted to mean, standard deviation, T-test, variance analysis (ANOVA), correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis with SAS program. The research results of the contingent nurses are followings: 1. Two types of contingent nurses shows similar age spans: they are mostly 21 - 30 years old and unmarried. But internship nurses have high level of educational career. Part - time nurses spread at general beds, out -patient part, intensive care part, operation part, etc, but internship nurses work mostly at general beds. 2. Two groups shows difference in actual employment condition: average employment career of part -time nurses is 7.0 months but internship nurses' is 2.0 months: average duty-on days per month of part - time nurses are 23.7 days but internship nurses' are 24.8 days. But there are little difference in average working time per day: 7.7 hours for part -time nurses and 0 hours for internship nurses. 3. The average wage per month for part -time nurses is 836,026 won but for internship nurses is 557,428 won-66.7% of part-time nurses'. Both groups are enjoying little additional pay. 4. Both groups are getting job not so much through advertisement of newspaper or hospitals as through acquainted person or college. 5. Both groups show very high level of job satisfaction: 3.2195 for part -time nurses and 3.2881 for internship nurses. But they show very low satisfaction on payment level compared with other categories and two groups show meaningful difference(P<.0001). 6. The multiple regression test reveals the factors related with job satisfaction: wage level, working part(OR or ICU), age, job career, and motive of contingent job-taking('because I can take care of family duties at the same time') influence positively: motive of contingent job-taking('because I can work regularly without alternation') influences negatively.

Four aspects were measured: direct nursing time, overtime, nurses' job satisfaction, and patients' satisfaction. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2-tests$, and t-tests. Results : There was a significant difference in patient satisfaction (t = -2.09, p = .038) and direct nursing time (t = -4.77, p < .001) when the nurse staffing grade was changed from the level two to the level one. Conclusion : The findings from this study showed that a higher nurse-to-patient ratio can provide a greater amount of direct nursing time for individual patients and increase patient satisfaction.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing job satisfaction among nurses working in college health centers in order to enhance their role functions and to increase their work capabilities. Method: In this study a cross-sectional survey was used to collect data from 106 nurses working in college health centers. Collected data were analyzed using frequency, Pearson correlation coefficients, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression with the SPSS 20.0. Results: Mean scores for self-efficacy, job stress and job satisfaction for the participants were 3.86 (5-point scale), 2.51 (5-point scale) and 3.37 (5-point scale) respectively. There was a negative correlation between self-efficacy and job satisfaction (r=-.653, p<.001). Factors influencing job satisfaction were job stress (${\beta}$=-.58, p=<.001), level of perception among the nurses that they were contributing to the health promotion of students (${\beta}$=-.21, p=.005) and marital status (${\beta}$=.17, p=.029). These 3 elements accounted for 47.7% of the variance in job satisfaction. Conclusions: The results indicate that reduction in job stress and increase in the perception that nurses are contributing to the promotion of students' health are important to reinforce the role function of nurses and to increase their work capabilities.

Three hundreds and twenty questionnaires were distributed and 304 of them were collected. Among them 293 questionnaires were eventually used for the statistical analysis. Descriptive and regression analysis were introduced, and in which 12 independent variables and one dependent variable were included. The results of this study are as follows: Approximately 50 percent of the dental technicians in Daegu expressed that they were satisfied with their job, while about 20 percent of them were not satisfied with their job. According to the multiple regression analysis, work environment($\beta$,=0.216), human relationship($\beta$,=0.405), and self-esteem($\beta$,=0.156) have statistically significant positive effects on job satisfaction. On the other hand, conflicts caused in the process of carrying out their jobs have statistically a significant negative effect($\beta$,=-0.166) on job satisfaction. Among 12 independent variables, human relationship has the strongest effect($\beta$,=0.405) on job-satisfaction and 12 independent variables explains approximately 35 percent of variance in the job-satisfaction of dental technicians in Daegu. • The purpose of this research is to analyze the predictive powers of the five technostress creators - techno-overload, techno-invasion, techno-complexity, techno-insecurity, and techno-uncertainty - in job satisfaction and teacher efficacy of primary school teachers in Korea when they incorporated mobile technology into teaching. A questionnaire was designed to measure the level of teacher's stress from technology, job satisfaction and teacher efficacy. Data were collected from 164 teachers. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to explain which area of technostress led to varying degrees of job satisfaction and teacher efficacy. The results showed that techno-complexity alone predicted both job satisfaction and teacher efficacy. The reason why techno-complexity was the only predictor is that teachers would have first needed to understand how to incorporate mobile technology into teaching, before feeling overloaded, invaded, insecure, or uncertain about it, meaning techno-complexity precedes other constructs. Therefore, the only stress factor that affected them was how to understand the complexity of mobile technology. This calls for adequate training and support from schools and governments in order for the teachers to fully incorporate technology into teaching.
