  • This research considers the problem of scheduling jobs on parallel machines with non-common due dates and additional resource constraints. The objective is to minimize the total absolute deviation of job completion times about the due dates. Job processing times are assumed to be the same. This problem is motivated by restrictions that occur in the handling and processing of jobs in certain phases of semiconductor manufacturing and other production systems. We examine two problems. For the first of these, the number of different types of additional: resources and resource requirements per job are arbitrary. The problem is formulated as a zero-one integer linear programming and the Lagrangian relaxation approach is used. For the second case, there exists one single type of additional resource and the resource requirements per job are zero or one. We show how to formulate the problem as an assignment problem.

  • The job characteristics and competencies of 285 dietitians in employee foodservices were investigated by worker-oriented job analysis methodology. The purposes of this study were to : a) determine the knowledge, abilities, skills and other characteristics(KASO, hereafter) needed for dietitians in two types of employee foodservice groups(self-operated vs. contracted) and b) the analysis of the degree of frequency and importance and entry requirements of KASO items listed below : their degree of frequency, the level of importance and their function as entry requirements. The 134 KASO items would be divided into 12 task categories. The questionnaire was mailed to 250 dietitians who are members of The Korean Dietetic Association Practice Group in self-operated foodservices(hereafter group A) and 250 dietitians who are employed in contracted foodservice companies(hereafter group B). Completed questionnaires were received from 285 dietitians(121 in self-operated, 164 in contracted) ; with a response rate of 57%. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS/win and the SAS/win packages. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1) Analysis of the degree of frequency, importance and entry requirements of 134 KASO items in group A showed a high priority(score〉4.0) placed on 14 items in relation to dietetic tasks and 9 items in relation to human attributes, whereas in group B 19 items in relation to dietetic tasks and 11 items in relation to human attributes. 2) Comparing responses about the KASO items in the 12 task categories, there was a significant difference between the two sample groups with regard to degree of frequency : group A scored 3.29, group B scored 3.50(p〈0.01). With regard to importance of KASO items in 12 task categories, group A scored 3.78 and group B scored 3.88 showing no significant differences. With to entry requirements of KASO items in 12 task categories, group A scored 3.29 and group B scored 3.46 showing a significant difference(p〈0.05). • Purpose This research aims to study the changes in recruitment needed for the growth and survival of companies in the rapidly changing industry. In particular, we built a real company's worklist accounting for the rapidly advancing data-driven digital transformation, and presented the capabilities and conditions required for work. Design/methodology/approach we selected 37 jobs based on NCS to develop the employment search requirements by analyzing the business characteristics and work capabilities of the industry and company. The business specification indicators were converted into a matrix through the TF-IDF process, and the NMF algorithm is used to extract the features of each document. Also, the cosine distance measurement method is utilized to determine the similarity of the job specification conditions. Findings Companies tended to prefer "IT competency," which is a specification related to computer use and certification, and "experience competency," which is a specification for experience and internship. In addition, 'foreign language competency' was additionally preferred depending on the job. This analysis and development of job requirements would not only help companies to find the talents but also be useful for the jobseekers to easily decide the priority of their specification activities.

  • It is not easy for business workers to find proper information for his job, because of the following problems:(1) information exist in various information system both internal and external with diverse formats(2) he cannot estimate relevance of all the information and (3) he cannot select proper information among large volume of information. The requirements for the systems are the following things:(1) search of relevant information from various internal and external information systems(2) proving an integrated view of information for workers, and (3) information processing and decision-making are seamlessly integrated fro business workers. We proposed an agent system to fulfill the requirements. We focus on the purchasing job, and developed a prototype system. PIPA(Purchasing Information Process Agent). The PIPA performs not only information processing jobs(information search gathering, display, business form -making)but also decision-making support job (evaluation of supplier candidates, and apply of sourcing policy) for sourcing manager. The framework of the PIPA can be appled to other information processing and desision-making jobs.

  • Most of scheduling methods in the Grid only consider one special attribute of the resource or one aspect of QoS (Quality of Service) of the job. In this paper, we focus on the problem that how to consider two aspects simultaneously. Based on the requirements of the jobs and the attributes of the resources, jobs are categorized into three kinds: CPU-overload, memory-overload, and bandwidth-overload jobs. One job may belong to different kinds according to different attributes. We schedule the jobs in different categories in different orders, and then propose a scheduling method-MTS (multiple attributes scheduling method) to schedule Grid resources. Based on the comparisons between our method, Min-min, ASJS (Adaptive Scoring Job Scheduling), and MRS (Multi-dimensional Scheduling) show: (1) MTS reduces the execution time more than 15% to other methods, (2) MTS improves the number of the finished jobs before the deadlines of the jobs, and (3) MTS enhances the file size of transmitted files (input files and output files) and improves the number of the instructions of the finished jobs.

  • One of the major requirements in preventing Work-related MusculoSkeletal Disorders(WMSDs) is to know definitely what vigorous exertion requirements are contained in a job. This requires improved job analysis tools which can accurately evaluate potentially harmful stresses to the musculoskeletal system. But to simply evaluate the level of stress at a joint, or in a muscle is not enough to motivate job changes. Therefore, the development of ergonomic evaluation tools for the jobs are important to ergonomics. The main objective is compared of the results that made by the ergonomic evaluation tools (e.g., BRIEF and RULA) in actually shoes manufacturing. These were developed in the foreign. So, it is priory needed to research of the ergonomics about Korean characteristic work by physiology and biomechanics.

  • Job stresses are realized as harmful factors affected workers' mental health. Job stresses can be defined as the physical and emotional responses that are occurred when the job requirements should be beyond the workers' abilities, followed with health problems and even work-related injuries. Job stresses could be resulted from the work environment and conditions related with workers' personality. This study is conducted to evaluate the job stresses for managers in the construction industry, by the questionaires which collected 302(75.5%) among 400 ones. The evaluation items are the levels of job stresses and stressors as well as the relationship between the variables. The controls should be recommended for physical and mental health.

  • This study created a computerized information system of the collected job analysis data and analyzed the computerized job analysis data to derive critical job factors. Based on the ratings on each critical job factor, possible employment opportunities for the various types of disability could be derived according to the match between job condition and handicap condition. The results can be utilized by the Employment and Vocational Training Administration to expand both the counselor and counselee's perspectives about job possibilities and job requirements.
