Objectives : The purpose of this study was to explore and describe the factors related to clinical nurses' organizational socialization, process and to find out the strategic information for successful organizational socialization. Methods : Data were collected with a structured questionnaires from 300 clinical nurses. The data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results : First, the average score for the organizational socialization($2.95{\pm}0.37$), organization climate($3.28{\pm}0.43$), autonomy($3.23{\pm}0.43$), role stress($3.21{\pm}0.56$), professional self-concept($3.19{\pm}0.46$), organization value internalization($3.11{\pm}0.59$), and perceptional justice($2.91{\pm}0.50$). Second, influencing factor of organizational socialization of the participant were organizational climate, role stress, professional self-concept, Job esteem, Living arrangement type, collaboration between medical professionals in hospital, the other hospital work experience, role model or Mentor, total hospital career, perceived health status, spouse, perceptional justice, Adjusted $R^2=.702$. Conclusions : These results suggest that organizational socialization of clinical nurses could be enhanced by organizational climate. Thus creating a positive organizational climate are mandated for clinical nurses to have constructive organizational socialization.
This paper aims to provide a critical assesment of Conservatives's and new Labour's social assistance reforms in the U.K. and their differential impacts on low income groups. During the period of 18 years in power, the Conservative governments enforced benefit recipients being capable of work to be out of benefits and to get into work. They employed not only 'carrots' to encourage beneficiaries being capable of work to have full-time work, but also 'sticks' to discourage them to depend on benefits. The reforms under the Conservative governments were closer to the workfare model. The new Labour government has continued to emphasize work regarding social security reform. It has raised 'from welfare to work' as the main reform objective. However, it has not necessarily focused on 'carrots and sticks' in order to get beneficiaries into work. Instead, the new Labour government has put its priority regarding social assistance reform on human capital development in order to develop the capability of beneficiaries for work. Britain under the new Labour government seems to be moving from workfare to activation model. These differentials between the Conservative governments and the new Labour government regarding social assistance reforms bring about the different policy outcomes. Under the Conservative government, social assistance programmes were prone to strengthen the state's control over benefit recipients and to increase stigma to them. Punitive, demeaning, stigmatising programmes of work and unending job search activities harm the bases of self-respect. On the contrary, the activation programmes under the new Labour government has contributed positively to both socially significant participation and autonomy of beneficiaries.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of independent dental hygiene practices in the Korean public dental hygienists. Methods: This research was a cross-sectional survey study. 159 Korean public dental hygienists were selected by simple random sampling on March 10, 2017. 133 public dental hygienists were participated, after excluding 26 hygienists who showed insufficient responses. The respondents were asked to select one of the following options to reflect their needs: direct supervision, indirect supervision, and independent dental hygiene practice. Results: The results showed that the public dental hygienists wanted both public oral health practices (62.5%) and assistance in preventive dental treatments (63.4%) to be performed independently. Conclusions: The public dental hygienists were required to independently perform oral health education and fluoride mouth rinsing projects. Dental hygienists should improve their capability of independently practicing dental hygiene first, and then indicators. It should be established and measured to evaluate their competency in this respect. Legal protection should be considered for independent dental hygiene practices.
Background: Social status might be a determinant of occupational health inequalities. This study analyzed the effects of social status on both work environments and health outcomes. Methods: The study sample consisted of 27,598 wage employees aged 15 years and older from among the Korean Working Condition Survey participants in 2011. Work environments included atypical work, physical risks, ergonomic risks, work demands, work autonomy, social supports, and job rewards. Health outcomes comprised general health, health and safety at risk because of work, the World Health Organization-5 Well-being Index, work-related musculoskeletal disease, and work-related injury. Multivariable logistic-regression models were used to identify the associations between social status and work environments and health outcomes. Results: Employees in the demographically vulnerable group had lower occupational status compared with their counterparts. Low social status was largely related to adverse work environments. Especially, precarious employment and manual labor occupation were associated with both adverse work environments and poor health outcomes. Conclusion: Precarious and manual workers should take precedence in occupational health equity policies and interventions. Their cumulative vulnerability, which is connected to demographics, occupational status, adverse work environments, or poor health outcomes, can be improved through a multilevel approach such as labor market, organizations, and individual goals.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the factors influencing empowerment among clinical dental hygienists. Through this study, we suggested to increase the empowerment and find concrete ways to increase the motivation and performance of individuals and organizations. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 202 dental hygienists of clinic from November 8 to December 10, 2018. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0. Independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's post-hoc test, and Pearson correlation coefficients were reviewed, and a multiple regression analysis was conducted. Results: Dental hygienists scored 3.33 points on empowerment. The variables that influenced clinical empowerment were job satisfaction, career, monthly income, and preventive treatment. These factors explained 32.3% of the variance in dental clinic hygienists. Conclusions: To enhance the performance of individuals and organizations through increased empowerment, dental hygienists need support to perform more diverse roles, such as providing preventive measures and oral health education, to enhance their professional self-concept and autonomy.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a direction for enhancing the mutual trust level between employees and managers by examining the effect of job satisfaction of electric power companies's employees and performance-oriented remuneration paid to them on awareness level of organizational justice and a trust in manager. Based on a significant positive relationship between employee's job satisfaction and trust in a manager, a significant positive relationship between employee's job satisfaction and perception of organizational justice, and a positive relationship between organizational justice and trust in manager, it was possible to confirm the mediating role of organizational justice between job satisfaction and a trust in manager. In addition, although performance-oriented remuneration did not have a significant effect on trust in manager directly, it was found to have a significant negative effect on distributive justice and procedural justice, but for interactional justice did not appear to have a significant influence. Because the autonomy of the labor budget is quite limited due to the government's total regulation on the size of the labor budget for public enterprises and due to the government's evaluation of management of public enterprises, it can be explained as having a negative effect on the perception of organizational justice. In addition, since the partial mediating effect of distributive justice and interactional justice was confirmed in the relationship between job satisfaction and trust in manager, the mediating effect of procedural justice was insignificant, it was confirmed that the need to establish and operate an internal HR management system based on smooth communication that employees can satisfy and accept can have a significant impact on trust in manager. On the other hand, because the negative complete mediating effect of distributive justice and procedural justice between performance-oriented remuneration and trust in manager was significantly confirmed, It is showing that employees' negative perceptions of performance distribution procedures and distribution results had a negative effect on trust in manager. The results of this study suggest that employees will perceive the organization as fair, and trust the manager who is the decision maker, when they are fully rewarded for their performance, with job satisfaction, a fair evaluation of their efforts, even if there are various factors that can influence managers to be trusted by their employees.
We studied the actual condition of work environment and work morale according to the type of employment of service workers by using the raw data of the Fourth Work Environment Survey (2014) conducted by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. In this study, the condition of work environment were composed of work posture, emotional labor, and work autonomy. Also, dimensions related to work morale were composed of competence, job satisfaction, social support, and job stress. In addition, the employment was classified into three types of regular workers, temporary workers, and daily workers. The results showed that temporary and daily workers were more likely to work in a less favorable environment than regular workers, and there was a close correlation between work environment and work morale. Based on this study, it is possible to know about the actual situation and problems of the service workers, and it is hoped that company can search for measures to increase the working environment and work morale of the workers in order to provide better service.
The purpose of this study was to conduct a systematic review of the previous studies done on the child-care teacher's turnover intentions. From 2001 to 2011, 33 articles which reforted primary empirical data met the criteria for inclusion in the meta-analysis. The results of this study are as follo ws: First, included in the main factors related to child-care teachers' turnover intentions were a job-related variable, an organizational internal variable and an organizational external variable. Second, the most influential protective variable related to the child-care teacher's turnover intentions among the set of organizational external variables was work-time followed by welfare, education and training, remuneration, social recognition and promotion system. Third, the most influential protective variable related to child-care teachers' turnover intentions among the set of job-related variables was teacher efficacy followed by job satisfaction, participation of decision making, performance, work-autonomy and work-professionalism. Fourth, the most influential protective variable related to the child-care teacher's turnover intentions among the set of organizational internal variables was personal relations followed by relationships with the director and relationships with colleagues. The effect size of these variables was large. Fifth, the results of meta-regression analysis revealed that the survey area and years had no significant effect on overall effect sizes.

The purpose of this study was to develop a nursing care delivery system which can provide patient focused care and increase satisfaction for both patients and nurses. This study was a quasi-experimental study to test the effectiveness of direct / indirect nursing care hours, patient satisfaction, nurse's job satisfaction, and the difference of the length of stay between model and control group. Control group data were collected from 100 patients who had lumbar disease in the neuro-surgical unit and model group data were from 66 patients who didn't have family residents from August 21, 1995 to February 29, 1996. Model unit was operated by modified PPM(Professional Practical Model) system for 3 months from December 1, 1995 to February 29, 1996. Working committee empowered nurses to make a decision to provide increased opportunities for autonomy, accountability, and control over the environment in which they deliver care. Satisfaction survey was done twice and analyzed by the SPSS program. The results of the study were as follows; 1. Mean direct nursing care hours of the model group was 90.47 minutes as it was 28.04 in the control group which shows significant statistical difference (t=-18.0, P=0.000). 2. Patient satisfaction to nursing care of in the model group was significantly higher than the control group (t=-6. 77, P=0.000) and it apples to the all subcategories, too. 3. Nurse's job satisfaction shows the significant increase in the model group than the control group(Z=-3.0405, p=0.0024). 4. There was no statistical difference between 2 groups in average length of stay except for the post-op patient which shows 5.4 days less in the model group. This study shows that patient satisfaction and nurse's job satisfaction were increased and length of stay was decreased in the model group. Even though this new developed Patient - Nurse Oriented Model can provide nursing with the opportunity to improve patient care to increase productivity and highly valued, it is very difficult to practice due to the limited nursing resources, higher acuity levels and nursing care cost. It is strongly recommended that the government needs to look at the unreasonable reimbursement system and recognize the nursing care costs to the high acuity level patients. Otherwise, make the patient responsible for the nursing care cost so that we can provide more efficient and patient focused care.
Background: The importance of infection with COVID-19 is being emphasized in dentistry with high risks such as aerosols. The purpose of this study is to investigate the knowledge and practice of infection control, stress and coping, and turnover of dental hygienists. Methods: Questionnaire was conducted knowledge and practice of infection control, occupational stress and coping, turnover. Survey data was investigated about 149 dental hygienists from February to March 2021 Data were analyzed t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation using statistical programs of PASW Statistics ver. 21.0. Results: Regarding occupational stress, relationship conflict was higher in the group with less than 2 years of experience (p<0.05). Job anxiety, organizational system, inadequate compensation, and workplace culture were highly surveyed in the 3 to 5 year of experience. The group with more than 6 years of experience had the highest perception of lack of job autonomy (p<0.05). The group with higher knowledge of infection control had lower mean inappropriate rewards and stress (p<0.05). The group with high infection control performance had a lower average in items such as job instability, organizational system, inadequate compensation, workplace culture, and stress. And problem-focused coping ability was found to be high (p<0.05). Infection control knowledge and performance were positively correlated (r=0.251, p<0.01), infection control practice and stress were negatively correlated (r=-0.264, p<0.01), and stress and emotional coping were positively correlated (r=0.367, p<0.01). Stress was positively correlated with turnover rate (r=0.549, p<0.01). Conclusion: Infection control training was required to reduce occupational stress. Occupational stress was highly correlated with turnover, a holistic and systemic organizational operation and improvement of the quality of medical care were required to reduce stress.
