  • This paper deals with traveling salesman problem(TSP) with the stochastic travel time. Practically, the travel time between demand points changes according to day and time zone because of traffic interference and jam. Since the almost pervious studies focus on TSP with the deterministic travel time, it is difficult to apply those results to logistics problem directly. But many logistics problems are strongly related with stochastic situation such as stochastic travel time. We need to develop the efficient solution method for the TSP with stochastic travel time. From the previous researches, we know that Q-learning technique gives us to deal with stochastic environment and neural network also enables us to calculate the Q-value of Q-learning algorithm. In this paper, we suggest an algorithm for TSP with the stochastic travel time integrating Q-learning and neural network. And we evaluate the validity of the algorithm through computational experiments. From the simulation results, we conclude that a new route obtained from the suggested algorithm gives relatively more reliable travel time in the logistics situation with stochastic travel time.

  • In the paper a superior performance algorithm compared to the existing vehicle actuated controller and time fixed controller and the additional controller is described through realization of fuzzy traffic phase controller. Fuzzy theory is encouraging since the application is similar to human's decision ability that is approately coped with uncertain conditions. The paper presents that selection of the phase adequated the variable traffic conditions through the fuzzy theory algorithm and decision of optimal cycle time approated the uncertain traffic volume are predominant in traffic jam solution compared to the existing Webster's cycle time decision method and the sequential traffic phase design method and dual-ring phase operation system.

  • In recent years parking problems have been rapidly highlighted. Particularly on-street parking has become a very serious problem so an immediate action needs to be taken to resolve this problem. On-steet parking is attributable not only to insufficient capacity of parking lots but also to the facts that must of the parking lots are far away from the destinations to which drivers intend to go and that their locations are unclear. The effect of on-street parking is so great as to cause road traffic problems such as traffic jam and danger to road safety as well as to lead to obstructing business activities resulting in a decline of commercial areas. Therefore on-street parking is an important problem for a city as a whole. In this paper I have investigated a parking lot information and guiding system as one of the techniques to resolve the on-street parking problem and have clarified the effect of introducing this system and necessary conditions for implementing an optimum information and guiding system. Moreover I have pointed out the problems to be encountered in imp-lementing such system in areas not equipped with infrastructures taking into account the road conditions in these areas and have stated that it would be necessary to develop a new idea of information and guiding system in order to overcome these problems. I have suggested a Shot Gun Method as a proposal and have discussed extensibility of this method in the future.

  • This study was performed to test food preferences of the Korean elderly for Korean elderly menu development. The elderly subjects preferred steamed rice cooked with 1.2 times water than that with 1.5 times water (p < 0.001) , whole rice grain gruel than the gruel with ground grain (p < 0.05) . Green tea powder gruels developed as a snack, there were no significant differences in the preference of the elderly between gruel with different contents of green tea powder (2, 3, $4\%$). The preferences of the salt concentration of the soup were tested by using soybean sprout soup and soybean paste soup. The elderly preferred 0.7 - $0.8\%$ salted bean sprout soup and $7\%$ soybean paste soup. The elderly preferred Kimchi cut in widths of 1 - 2 cm than that in 0.5 cm. The elderly preferred sweeter grape jam ($67\%$ vs. $50\%$ or $37\%$ sugar content) and were not concerned about chewing seeds. This result could be useful to develop menus for the elderly. • Currently, the minimum breadth as a point available for U-turn setup is designated as "over 9m for one way" in the traffic safety facilities practical manuals, and vehicles allowed to make a U-turn are limited to passenger cars. However, as passenger cars have recently become larger and SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles) are being popularized, they fail to make a U-turn in one attempt. This causes a traffic jam and a problem with traffic safety. This study proposed, compared, and tested the measured values of actual differences in the turning radius of U-turn by actual cars with estimated values by using PC-Crash, a car accident simulation program. Then, the study forecasted the turning radius of U-turns of Korean passenger cars by using PC-Crash, and proposed appropriate breadth for U-turn setup.

  • In order to investigate the individual difference in the cocoon quality of female and male silkworm, Bombyx mori, the individual variation of cocoon quality of all the examined population, the variation of cocoon quality within batches. The variation of batches were also examined with 19 batches (843 cocoons of female and 806 of male) of lam 111 X Jam 112, and the daily variation of cocoon quality after harvesting on 300 good cocoons of female and male is as follows:(table omitted) 2. The daily variation of cocoon quality after harvesting. The daily reduction rate of cocoon weight after havesting was higher at the late stage than at the beginning stage of pupal duration and it showed a tendency to be higher in male than in female pupae.

  • RTLS (Real Time Locating Systems) are used to track and identify the location of objects in real time. RTLS generally consist of tags, readers and engine etc. and applied in various environments. One problem encountered in RTLS is constraints for setting up readers according to environments. In these challenging environments, it is necessary to develop techniques that can use mobile readers. As mobile reader increase, whole reader increase. And it is necessary to develop technique that can select useful readers. Selected readers including mobile readers take effect performance of RTLS. This paper introduces the technique for selecting good readers using the convex hull algorithm. The result show the good performance which based on tag's location error and reduce the networking overhead.

  • Security has long been a challenging problem in wireless networks, mainly due to its broadcast nature of communication. This opens up simple yet effective measures to thwart useful communications between legitimate radios. Spread spectrum technologies, such as direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS), have been developed as effective countermeasures against, for example, jamming attacks. This paper surveys previous research on securing a DSSS channel even further, using physical layer attributes-keyless DSSS mechanisms, and watermarked DSSS (WDSSS) schemes. The former has been motivated by the fact that it is still an open question to establish and share the secret spread sequence between the transmitter and the receiver without being noticed by adversaries. The basic idea of the latter is to exploit the redundancy inherent in DSSS's spreading process to embed watermark information. It can be considered a counter measure (authentication) for an intelligent attacker who obtains the spread sequence to generate fake messages. This paper also presents and evaluates an adaptive DSSS scheme that takes both jam resistance and communication efficiency into account.

  • In wireless communication systems, jamming attack is a critical threat. Especially, reactive jamming can jam when the sender and receiver are communicating, which can maximize the attack efficiency of jamming. In this paper, we use the property of multi-input multi-output (MIMO) technology to achieve jamming resilient orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) communications. In particular, we use MIMO interference cancellation to remove the jamming signals strategically. We first investigate the reactive jamming attack model and their impacts on the MIMO-OFDM systems. We then present an iterative channel estimation algorithm that exploits MIMO interference cancellation. Our simulations show various anti-jamming methods and demonstrate the efficiency of our proposed algorithm under the reactive jamming attack.
